Hey guys. I'm looking for a head unit to put into my Volkswagen Rabbit. Out of all the OEM-look Chinese units, I like this one the best because it looks most like OEM. Here's the link: http://audiosources.net/prod_view.aspx?TypeId=50017&Id=224&FId=t3:50017:3
I'm not too sure how these android HU's work. Do custom ROMs, theming, etc still apply or is this a whole different thing? Can you update the firmware like you would with an android phone? Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone. I hope this is the right place, but i couldnt find an android head unit thread lol.
So I've been looking at THIS as an option for my 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. I have the stock deck with no extras but AUX. I plan on having this car until it dies so I would love to invest in something like this. The reason I chose this one as its the only one i found running a relatively "newer" version of android and its stock, No launchers or themes. My biggest concern is that CPU. I can't seem to find ANY info on the "Tcc8925 1.2G dual core" cpu. Can anyone give me some insight into its performance etc? RAM seems like it will be more than enough for what I need. My plan is to use Car Home Ultra with everything I need right there, completely customized. I have contacted the seller to make sure its plug and play with my NA Cruze.
If I could root this thing, or unlock the BL and get a good ROM running on it I would be in heaven!
Thanks!
Anyone? Lol

Anyone aware of any 7" Android Car Stereo's out yet? Looking for one that's been rooted and has some development behind it so I can install custom roms. I'm assuming the answer is no. I've seen some of the cheap no name brand units out there, but they'll often either be junk or run an old version of Android with no way of upgrading. Anything decent out there?
Thanks
I'm new to all this, so please forgive me if what I'm saying does not make sense. I don't totally know what I'm talking about.
I have a 2013 Mini Cooper and as such the options are pretty limited. There looks looks to be a PX3 MTCE_HLA Android 7 version available or an Android 8 PX5 MTCE_KGL unit. Obviously I'd prefer the faster speed of the PX5 based system but I've read a few negative comments about the KGL systems. I can't really find anything on the HLA systems (maybe I'm just bad at search?).
In terms of quality, is there a preference between HLA and KGL?
In terms of support here, custom ROMS, etc, is there a reason to prefer one over the other?
Hi, I have an HLA in my BMW.. I am sofar not happy with it. it is a PX3 system though.
The Problem with HLA is that noone seems to know much about. Like you said yourself: Cant find anything about it. So should you want to doe stuff with it, there is probably no help
Good luck!

They're all based on HCT, false dichotomy? I'd say go for the PX5, once read through the forums, you'll find mostly PX5, but read on.
Hello everyone, I was given a boss bv755b head unit and I was wondering if there is any way to customize the unit. I have seen some other units with the same model number, however, the OS looks somewhat different. Basically the other models look better when it comes to OS.
Also, is there a way to extract current firmware so it can be modified?
Hi all
I have this watch that has a specialized os that I want to change to more usable os.
but I don't know it's brand as nothing is branded on it, so I can't find a way to achieve this.
could anyone help me in steps to install a usable os on it? as I have very little experience in smartwatches in general.
thanks
