First boot will take longer than expected. Leave it alone for about 10 minutes.
And after some time. You will be greeted with the glorious Android 5.0 screen.
Video Guide.
Before flashing we need to make a backup of your PIT file just incase something goes wrong. And to do so open Command Prompt and execute the following commands.
Code:
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/My-N9005.pit bs=1 skip=17408 count=4244"
adb pull /sdcard/My-N9005.pit
Now that will create a backup of your PIT File as a failsafe. :fingers-crossed:

I've never experienced any issues with WiFi personally. Can you explain more about your issues with it?
Also port for other devices?
Hey,
are there any chances or possibilities for porting this rom also to another device? E.g. the S4 LTE-A, which has "exactly" the same hardware as the note 3 i guess, it also has the snapdragon 800, so i think it might not be too difficult to port this rom also for this device, someone who can tell me something about that?:good::victory:
The fact the Xposed won't work with Android v5.0 at present makes a no go for me. I can't see how I can do without about 6 or 7 key Xposed modules. It's a real shame
So glad to see this Is this leak for the international Note3 ? Does it incluede French language ? Did you see any bug on this leak ? And last question, if the flash goes wrong, how can I use the backup PIT ?
Many thanks for sharing this leak !
I install it on my N9005 it include french and Italian and many other i dont flash bootloader and pit file for now everything it's ok only the WiFi issue!!!i must to put the key wen I restart or close the wireless.
Sorry if is a dumb question, is the first time i try to flash a rom for this device, i have a n900w8 and odin shows me repartitio error, even with repartition unchecked, is ther any chance to install this rom on the n900w8? i think it has the same hardware as the n9005.
Thanks in advance
its not working for note 3 sm n9005
No, I don't think you can flash it, this isn't the same model event if the hardware look same. Maybe a little difference who made ****. But I don't think you can. I'll try it later ^^
A question, @Sewrizer, the wifi patch you give us, we have to pass with a custom recovery ? I don't want to pass my Knox to 1 ^^ I think i'll wait if their is a wifi bug, my wifi code is too long to enter it each time wifi reboot...
This willnot work for the ATT version will it?

Downgrade
Quick question:
Can I downgrade to KK? I Want to try this FW but (surely) keeping KK because of Xposed compatibility.
Thanks!!

You can ask the developers of S4 LTE-A for that.

I'll post a guide about PIT later on sometime. It'll have things like "What is PIT?" "How to Backup?" "How to restore?" "How to revive soft bricked Note 3's" and all. Do remind me after the New Year and I'll make one.

WiFi issue might be solved by flashing this. Thanks @Sewrizer. I personally did not test it and also discourages flashing it as Lollipop includes many new changes to WiFi drivers while the zip file is meant for KitKat. EDIT: Instead of flashing that file. Try this. And also try to move the Q/A's there. Let's try to keep this an organized thread.

Yes...i will try that tonight after work and post here.:good:
That doesn't work either....It starts to boot and freezes. The tablet is VERY hot. I cannot recommend this ROM to anybody. I have wasted more time trying to make this work than it's worth. I appreciate your effort and time, but this rom is completely unusable on our tablet (P5113 model).

FYI, I have installed this on our two here at home, been running flawlessly since the 7th. We also have the P5113.
It is no problem, I won't add any more time, effort into the tablet section. I'll stay compiling my I9000, I9100, I9300 ROMs.

location 0x1002080C is s5p_restart_handler INFORM3 aka reboot_mode
reboot fota_bl sets MAGIC 0x12345676
when mach_board_main is executed in sboot and location 0x1002080C has 0x12345676 then it will execute pit_update_bootloader_ota, all pretty simple really.
There is also another special mode of reboot sud which sets s5p_restart_handler to 0xABCF0000 but to discuss its function would be off topic here.

Nice one, will be helpful for noobies
Why is 4.1+ needed in this case?
Good job.
However doing this with Odin is much easier. Odin does the same.
Also Odin does not require installation like Kies and very less disk space.
And some devices like Galaxy y GT-S5360 are not supported by Kies.
It is not only for 4.1+
I used this 1-2 months back on my SGS+ I9001 to install Android 2.3.6 from 2.3.4
Anyway, keep it up!
this method does not apply for all devices
some do not support firmware upgrade and initialization like gt-n8000
yep

yes u are right... my GT-i9505 doesn,.t support initialisation... my device is already official but i want to make kies updates again...
1 silly question. will this method can be apply to old samsung device? i have samsung galaxy SL (gt-i9003) with CM11. thanks in advance
'GT-I9500' does not support initializing
iNITIALIZING MY DEVICE BREAKS ALL NETWORK CONNECTIVITY.IN MY CASE,
FOR EXAMPLE IF I WERE TO ENTER THE PRODUCT NAME AND SERIAL NUMBER OF MY SAMSUNG GALAXY S 111. KIES WOULD OFFER TO INITIALIZE MY PHONE WITH AN ANDROID 4,12 FIRMWARE THAT USES A MODEM/RADIO THAT USES AN EFS VERSION 1 PARTITION.
SINCE MY PHONEIS CURRENTLY ON ANDROID 4.3 AND CURRENTLY USES EFS VERSION 2 . GOING BACKWARDS TO THE OLD EFS STRUCTURE WILL CAUSE MY PHONE TO NO LONGER WORK AS A PHONE.ONLY WIFI WILL WORK
. WHEN I TRY KIES TELLS MR THAT IT WILL INITIALIZE WITH THE LATEST VERSION FOR MY PHONE PDA/MF6 /PHONE MA5/CSC MF1 (AFR) WHILE THAT FIRMWARE IS THE LATEST FOR (AFR) IT IS OLD AND ANY MODEM FOR GT-I9300 THAT PRECEEDED THE MG4 MODEM WILL NOT WORK UNLESS THE EFS FOLDER WAS BACKED UP AND THEN RESTORED AFTER REVERTING TO THE OLD EFS STRUCTURE.
THIS UNFORTUNATELY MAKES USING KIES TO INITIALIZE MY PHONE NOT AN OPTION.
Thx for this guide!
ML1 has a KNOX bootloader. You are doomed Nice guide but I prefer the old school Odin way!

Will this work for my AT&T I337 Stock MK2 Locked Boot loader ROM. I Followed the steps and it's telling me that it will restore to MDL ROM. Don't want to get that firmware upgrade error message. Thanks in advance

I dont hav experience with locked boot loaders and no idea about that. better i think you should accept that restore to MDL ROM i hope, because this method will restore to official stock like that comes from Samsung.
Question
Is there a way to determine what firmware is it installing?

My Method is very rudimentary, I deodexed and then changed some apks directly from the phone, then make a Update.zip vía philz and add data.ext4.tar to the update... Its not the best way, but it still worked.

That's weird, I know many people installed this with no problems in locked bootloaders. Are you using PhilZ from AleksJ?

Uh, I think I see the problem. The file route is too large, rename the file to update.zip or, place in the root of the sdcard (Or both)... Let's see if that works. (It isn't necessary to already be deodexed to install this )
EDIT: If that didn't worked, then redownload and check if Md5's match: eac144943e2e08bd7f9b4d5e979fd4a3

Hi, nothing changed. I did what you said and the md5 also matched but it keep saying STATUS 1 installation aborted. I have one last option, i will try the guide for rooting you had posted coz i did not use that, i hope it will work this time.

Oke, maybe that was the reason.. However, if that didn't worked, try also flashing the french D2303 ftf, (if that's your model), the rom files where extracted from it, so it must work.

Looks like it's failing because you're trying to flash an older bootloader than what is already on the device, I've looked around and downgrading back to lollipop is not simple.
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/downgrading-920f-6-0-to-5-1-1-t3289178
If it doesn't work then I am not sure what else you can try but going back to mm, why do you want to go on lollipop anyway?

That's wrong, that's hella wrong.
If you installed G920FXXU4 or G920FXXS4 update or ROM via Odin, there's no way to downgrade to 5.1.1

My bad, so downgrading is dependant on the firmware currently installed? Or is it a particular firmware you gotta be on? I've read so many different things
