My Method is very rudimentary, I deodexed and then changed some apks directly from the phone, then make a Update.zip vía philz and add data.ext4.tar to the update... Its not the best way, but it still worked.

That's weird, I know many people installed this with no problems in locked bootloaders. Are you using PhilZ from AleksJ?

Here is my screenshots. I think i know what the problem is, my phone is an odex rom i guess? but if that's the case, how can i change into deodex? I don't know what i am really talking about, i am just a starter in android so please bare with me

Uh, I think I see the problem. The file route is too large, rename the file to update.zip or, place in the root of the sdcard (Or both)... Let's see if that works. (It isn't necessary to already be deodexed to install this )
EDIT: If that didn't worked, then redownload and check if Md5's match: eac144943e2e08bd7f9b4d5e979fd4a3

Hi, nothing changed. I did what you said and the md5 also matched but it keep saying STATUS 1 installation aborted. I have one last option, i will try the guide for rooting you had posted coz i did not use that, i hope it will work this time.

Oke, maybe that was the reason.. However, if that didn't worked, try also flashing the french D2303 ftf, (if that's your model), the rom files where extracted from it, so it must work.

Yes...i will try that tonight after work and post here.:good:
That doesn't work either....It starts to boot and freezes. The tablet is VERY hot. I cannot recommend this ROM to anybody. I have wasted more time trying to make this work than it's worth. I appreciate your effort and time, but this rom is completely unusable on our tablet (P5113 model).

FYI, I have installed this on our two here at home, been running flawlessly since the 7th. We also have the P5113.
It is no problem, I won't add any more time, effort into the tablet section. I'll stay compiling my I9000, I9100, I9300 ROMs.

Phantom Kernel for Sony Xperia L
By me!
Feel free to ask questions, or answer questions by others or interact with developer himself.
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
Please flash this ROM only if you know what you're doing!

P.S. Keep checking this thread for updated FAQ's and Tricks and Tips.
▷ FAQ and common solutions to most of the problems ◁
ℚ This Kernel Bricked my Phone, Please Help!
➳ First of all, no one guarantees that this or any work on this planet will surely work on your phone. If DEV got it working on it working on his phone then it should virtually work on all same devices. Still User mistakes while Flashing, Hardware defects and the features in the Kernel(such as Over-clocking) are the factors which need to be taken into consideration before blaming others. ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU.
ℚ Battery life is so poor
➳ Check the solutions than blaming DEV. Check the wakelocks or apps that are eating up the Juice off your battery. Don't overclock. Check this guide for wakelocks.
ℚ WiFi not working, #@!$& DEV
➳ UPDATE- See this post for WiFI fix
Link for FLASHABLE WIFI FIX
Hey, Everything is tested whether it is Working or not so check for cause.
Shivam Kuchhal said:
WiFi is working perfectly fine and its tested. If you're having problems with it then its the fault of your ROM not the kernel.
Though I have a workaround for you maybe as I was on Parallax for sometime and I might know why's it not working.
Copy prima_wlan.ko from /system/lib/modules/prima to /system/lib/modules/ and rename it to wlan.ko, make sure it replaces the file there. It should work fine then if still nothing then complain about it to your ROM developer for not linking prima_wlan.ko and wlan.ko properly.
"Do not spam the thread".

OR a possible Work around is
1. Flash boot.img from FlashTool
2. Boot to CWM/TWRP and flash the Kernel Zip again. The modules are now at their right place and Your WIFI is working.
If not CONTACT ROM developer because its then a ROM bug.
ℚ I lost ROOT Access
➳ See flashing a Kernel on existing rooted ROM will not result in loosing root access, but even if it happens, please Flash this SuperSu.zip first and you'll get your ROOT access. After doing this, still you are unrooted then you are a special case and please then (only then) post on thread.
HOPE MANY OF THE PROBLEMS WILL BE CLEAR NOW, PLEASE GUYS FOLLOW RULES AND DON'T SPAM ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT SECTION'S THREAD FOR YOUR SILLY MISTAKES/BUGS ETC. REPORT THEM HERE INSTEAD. KEEP THAT THREAD FOR DEVELOPMENT RELATED DISCUSSIONS ONLY !
Add info about fixing WiFi on custom ROMs too and change the title too, I changed my username.

No, I actually only use DSI-XDA kitchen myself.
I did what I always do, grab the stock image from Google, break it down, add my own root and busybox (not the ones in the kitchen, they are older).
Then I use my updater-script that I hand built from prior releases along with matching binaries.
Pretty much that is it. I am going to look at yours in a minute and I will PM you what I find.
EDIT: Sorry, I didint mean to cut you off on your thread either.

Thanks @scrosler. Going to wait for your Clean Rom.
I just tried to flash it (deodex) in TWRP, and it failed. It says:
symlink: some symlinks failed.
E:Error executing updater binary in zip
EDIT: I redownloaded the file, and it worked on the 2nd try. Must have been a bad download.

Don't worry man haha, yours works better let's be honest so we might as well get people using it.
Interesting I did pretty much the exact same, added the updated superuser since there is a really old one in the kitchen like you said. I think my updater script was okay. I guess I had some weird binaries or something, I just grabbed them from a 4.4.2 rom, not entirely sure what there purpose is. Or how to view/edit them.
I'll probably have another blast at it tomorrow just for the fun of it, I want to try get it working so I know for the future
EDIT: though I had issue with root not working out the box, maybe I missed replacing something. What files did you replace?
If you want to look at mine it's here: http://d-h.st/rMs

The 4.4.2 OTA bootloader is locked, correct?
Does it lock out loading new kernels?
What's the difference between the 4.2.2 bootloader and the new one?
Thanks

Oh man, many thanks. I just won't flash it because I don't wanna have to reconfigure my device entirely.
Anyways, I see you know some Russian, am I right?
If that's right I think you could help me in bringing some content for this device.
Plus, I liked the quick settings menu, how is that I can install just it in my device, will it work if I extract only the systemUI file from your rom and use it in my stock device?

All right I'll try using gravity box. Installed your system UI but the interface didn't change, but I'll do it now that you said gravity box works with it.
Thanks..
Ah, almost forget, what about the Russian, do you really know it?

I am using TWRP 2870 . It is very comfortable .
That's the problem, none of these are even available outside russian forums.
For example, I'm using TWRP 2440 and even made a topic in how to install it today http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-c/general/c2304-installing-twrp-cwm-recovery-t3351027
But it took me ages to find it on the internet, and still it doesn't work properly, as it can't mount the /system partition.
It's been more than 2 years since this device was released and the only recovery available in xda was one named Carliv, and it's so buggy that it doesn't even fit the screen.
I wish you could help us by bringing some of those contents here.

Well, my if you could just send me a list of what is available for Xperia C2304 on Russian forums like 4 PDA and the files found there I would make the tutorials.
For example, we could start with the twrp 2870, if you sent me the file for it and the name of the creator I would make the tutorial myself, because TWRP 2870 for xperia C simply doesn't exist in this site.
Thanks for your attention and patience, I appreciate that.

Can you send me all the recoveries you know for Xperia C?
Hey, I flashed this ROM in my C2304 and 2 things happened:
1. The menu disappeared.
2. Both the SIM cards stopped working.
Is this because you made it for c2305?
