Hey,
I got an old android device that I want to use for Perk farming and I was wondering if there is anything that can relaunch the app, should it crash overnight.
Thanks!

Any program to automatically kill tasks on WM Smartphone Edition?

I got my father a sprint HTC Snap (Dash 3g) and was wondering if there is a program that would automatically kill running tasks. I don't think he will bother to go to the task manager and kill the task from there. There are no apps that he would want running in the background so Everything can be killed.
Any app for that? There is no exit option in IE and the camera and many other apps which I think is retarded.
I think the way he exits a program is by pressing the Home key and it keeps the program running in the background.

I'm using Oxios CloseApps, works perfect.
Google for it!
Thanks for the reply. This program seems good, Does this program shut the apps automatically, or do I have to run it once in a while. Maybe shuts all programs every 5 minutes if the phone isn't currently on... or maybe shuts idle tasks after they havent been used for several minutes.. etc
If there isn't such an app, is there an app that would automatically open a program every xx minutes? then I can train that app to open Oxios every couple of minutes.
If it was my phone, I wouldn't mind running it, but then again this is for my father and I don't think he would bother.
Moved as not software release.

Apps are FCing more and more - known problem apps?

So I have an Acer Iconia A500 running 4.0.3 non-rooted.
Its got to the point where I'm at my wits end and need to take action. Over the last couple months I suspect it just hadn't been running right and has been getting progressively worse. Apps FC a lot more than ever. I've installed a lot over the months so doing process of elimination by uninstalling one at a time would be a pain.
This is why I'm wondering if there's any particular apps that are known to bog the system down. Here's a screenshot of what's running/URL]per Advanced Task Killer. I've killed tasks but they obviously start right back up and really its no use - nor is the built in task killer with Astro File Manager. Also I have no idea why some of those are running as I just rebooted my device before taking that screenshot. The only thing I've physically opened was the browser and Google Play music.
Also, is there any kind of app out there that can diagnose or sniff out the problem apps or a log that will tell me what's going haywire?
Any help is appreciated, really trying to avoid wiping the device.
Android has the autostart option for apps. The apps can use the onBoot service/ after boot completed to start, this explains the started apps after the reboot.
You can use the logcat to see why there are fc's of some apps.
Not every app is without errors and warnings, it could be a developer related problem. And btw android needs no task manager/ killer.

Has my phone been hacked?

OnePlus One running Android 5.1.1. This evening I noticed the attached message in my notification shade. There is no "NPO" app visibly installed on the phone and I have no knowledge of a "Chromecast-Matthieu" in my vicinity. If I try to cast through an app I am familiar with (Youtube, Pocket Casts) I do not see that device. If I try to pause the cast or close the notification, it restarts and/or reopens within a few seconds. I can turn the WiFi off and it goes away, but turning WiFi on again it reappears. I have rebooted the phone. The apps that got updated recently seem to be trustworthy. I do not have a Google Home device. I guess that is a renamed Google Cast app (?). I uninstalled that and it had no effect.
How freaked out should I be about this? What can I do to fix it? Can cast device names be hidden like SSIDs?
Thanks,
David

The phone closes applications automatically.

The phone automatically closes Endomondo, BitTorrent applications. After a few minutes, the phone automatically closes the running applications. Please help.
I too face this issue with my Samsung Health app and Galaxy Wear App. I have disabled optimisation for it.

Me too. It stops Spotify download even though I put Spotify on "don't optimize". I had to keep the Spotify on foreground to keep downloading. This behavior reminds me of iOS.

Enable Smart Boost option on Oneplus Labs menu. It is available on 9.0.4 release. Much better memory management.

Is there a way to stop Android from closing apps?

I have a game on my phone and it used to stay open after I switched to other apps and back. Now, if I switch to a different app like a browser or something and then switch back, I have to restart the game more often than not. It's super annoying. It does it even if I have only one other app open that I'm switching to. I know it didn't happen this frequently on Nougat. Is there a way to make it so it keeps the game open as I look through other apps?
Have you checked to see if you are optimizing the app? This might help...?
Settings/battery/battery optimization.
This is how I get there on my phone.
I fixed it by downgrading from Oreo to Nougat 7.1.1. Now it isn't nearly as bad. I don't know if it's just HTC or what, but their late updates just seem to suck. I really don't have any desire to try Pie on this phone.
