[Q] How to update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 on rooted Moto G - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a rooted, Boost Moto G flashed to VZ, running 4.4.2 and would like to upgrade to 4.4.4. I also have TWRP, installed.
Rather than flashing the complete 4.4.4 factory image which, I believe will wipe all my data, I would like to update from the OTA file.
Can this be done with TWRP or must I use fastboot? Will the apps and data be at risk?

[Q] How do I get moto g LTE x1045 back to stock?

I'm currently have a retail x1045 with 4.4.4 kitkat that is rooted with twrp recovery. Is there anyway for me to get back to stock so I can take the lollipop ota? Could i just flash the stock recovery from the ATT version and then do a wipe to get back?
I know about the sticky with firmware for moto g lte but it states if you're on kitkat 4.4.4 flashing a lower version will brick you.
If you have not made any changes to /system or any other "system" related partition, first unroot completely. Then wipe cache and reboot. Once you do that flash stock recovery and reboot.

stock OTA 5.0.2 dual sim xt 1033

Hi everyone, i get the official update for my moto g xt1033 asia retail, i updated from kk to lollipop, after that i tried to flash a custom recovery and the phone get crazy, restarting continously. I made a factory reset and i was able to start the phone, now it works, but it have many problems, the sim2 is not conected to internet...the ideea is i want to reflash this update. How can i do that? factory reset and wipe cache doesnt help me. How can i reflash with the same version of L 5.0.2 OTA. I have root and stock recovery. Thanks
Revert to stock 4.4.4
And then flash the 5.0.2 update zip through recovery.
how? i think i have 5.0 bootloader and i understand is too risky to downgrade to stock 4.4.4, if i know how, maybe i will, thanks

[Q] How do I upgrade stock 4.4.4 (EU) to 5.0?

I recently soft bricked my phone (Moto G 2013 falcon) downgrading it from Cyanogen 12 to stock 4.4.4 (Argentina), so after many tries I ended up booting in stock 4.4.4 Europe retail (210.12.40.falcon_umts.EURetail.en.EU).
I try to upgrade that to 5.0, but the OTA update fails in the middle of the installation. Then I tried to download the OTA file manually and install it via stock recovery, but it fails too.
Is there any other way? Or do I have to convert it to 4.4.4 stock Brazilian or some other variation with more OTA files available?
Thanks in advance,
Are you unrooted, running stock recovery, and stock ROM?
Yes: unrooted, stock recovery, stock ROM. My bootloader is unlocked though, so I can easily root the phone or change the recovery.
I already tried with a (supposed) official 5.0 OTA for Europe using stock recovery, but it didn't work ("update failed" or so).
I have the Telus xt1032 8GB. Not sure if it runs or you need the same Telus firmware but I was able to flash back to stock 4.4.4, update Motorola apps, and take the OTA update via wifi. I did this three times on my xt1032 in the past 2 weeks without any problems.

[Q] xt1031 reports as a xt1032

My Boost Mobile Moto G won't install any ROMs. I had issues running PA 5.1 with the phone locking up so I wiped and tried to install the stock 4.4.4 Rom. In TWRP it says it won't install because the phone is a xt1032. Any idea how to correct this.
I never updated the bootloader, I just edited the 5.1 installer to skip the bootloader check.

What if i update rooted moto g 2015 from marshmallow 6.0 to latest available?

I have a rooted moto G 3rd gen with stock rom and marshmallow 6.0. now phone is showing option to upgrade it.?? should i uograde it? what will happen if a upgrade>?
It will fail and you will have a non-bootable device most likely...
You must restore stock recovery and remove root... if you have Xposed installed or made any other changes to system you will have to restore your pre-modification backup in TWRP, or return to pure stock.
No NOT take the update... but if you do and it bootloops, in TWRP clear cache and it should be bootable again.
BTW, what model and android version are you on and what is being offered to you? To my knowledge there are no new updates recently.
