Great work!
Are there any plans to support non-rockchip devices?
I have installed handy smart launcher on a Motorola droid bionic which lives in a oem hd dock under my tv connected by HDMI. I installed the companion (remote) app on my Motorola RAZR hd. The devices communicate, but the only functions that work are scrolling thru the main tabs, search, and home button. Mouse and keyboard functions don't work, even after selecting Handy as default keyboard in language and input settings on the bionic.
I would love to see this work, would be a great replacement to my wireless mouse connected to the bionic dock.

Hello pistacios,
I am grateful to yor for sending us this extremely useful and well-documented infofmation on working process. In the nearest future we are going to optimise our apps for the use with not only rockchip tv-boxes. As for the use -You should install our Handy Smart TV Laucnher on Android TV-box and 2nd app Handy Smart TV on your phone or tablet. After that you will get devices ready to work. If you have TV box based on Rockchip processor - we would like to get your own test report.
Kind regards

mk808 finless rom
Hi,
I'm using an MK808 stick, very similar with the one in PPC_owner's post (but without "B" in MK808B).
As far as I know, it's a genuine RK3066, but with Finless ROM 2.1 JellyBean 4.2.2.
Handy smart tv / launcher does not even appear in Google Play on this device (!).
Copied manually and installed, the app does not work as expected (Galaxy Note 3 with 4.3, cannot control the stick with this app - behaviour is similar with the one described by PPC_owner on MK808B).
Any idea ?
Thank you,

Dead topic ?

not sure about it yet,, as my Smart TV should arrive by 2morrow
Can you port the tab version? I'd like to use that for my Xoom.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Works on my Galaxy S, but only as the "remote mode" app - i.e. you cannot use dual view, cannot stream anything to/from the TV.
This basically makes it exactly the same as the Samsung Remote App, which already worked on all phones.

Don't really know if it fully work,, as I still didn't receive the TV
Its definitely only the remote mode of the app. No dual mode. This on the tab 10.1
The Dual-View seems to work on only some of the Smart TV's and not all,, As I read in the User Reviews in the market

Did your TV arrive yet and were you able stream to your phone? I just downloaded it but unable to test intill i get home. Its a different version then the Remote app so im crossing my fingers. Ive got a 55" LED samsung with smartview so im hoping it will work. Im actually on a HTC EVO and i was able to install the app unlike before where the app would fail to install.
Duel view will only work on D7000 and D8000 2011 smart tvs i have the D8000 and SG 2
I ordered a 46" D8000 TV, coming in mid-August. If this app works with my current setup CM7 on HTC EVO 4G, I will for sure contribute in any way possible to make sure this app lives on!

I have a D8000 whit desire hd and htc sensation doesn't work dual view , only remote. Why
Thanks for this port.
Confirmed working on Desire HD. I have a Samsung Series 6 TV, so no Dual View for me though.
I work in a technology department with loads of Samsung TV's. Tried it on D6510, D6530, D6750, D8000 at different sizes (32", 40", 46", 55") using my htc desire.
This app just acts the same as Samsung's own unfortunately...no dual view, just remote control functions etc.
Nexus One works not with UE55D8000...
I can only use the remote and Game function.

The best remote control apps for android TV-box in 2014

Hi everyone. I hope one of you can help me out here. Can you advice me the best remote control apps and launchers for my Minix neo-x7? I'm looking for the apps which can give me an opportunity of controlling my TV-box just through my phone. I've found one launcher for minix, but it was built for tablets and in some apps on my phone there appear problems with the display resolution.
Any ideas?
Thanks for participating

First of all, your minix neo x7 need to be rooted.
You can use DroidMote as mouse pad, keyboard, mic, remote for music/video and game controler. It's connected by Wifi.
These options work perfect but the game controler not so much.
If you want to see DroidMote working, Just search for DroidMote on YouTube.

Thank you for your advice - but i have problem with DroidMote. When i try to install it the programm asks abot access to the root files. so smartphone block it all times((( i realy do not know how to root my fone and will it be justified action.
You need to install the DroidMote Client on your phone and the DroidMote Server on your Minix neo x8.
In my opinion only the server (Minix) need root access. If you check at the play store, at the bottom of the page, you can see the rights that the app needed. Only the server asks for 'full access of memory and phone options' and the client not.
If your Minix neo X8 is not rooted, just check on YouTube 'how to root Minix neo x8' But follow the instructions carefull.
another option is: search at dx.com for a cheap android keyboard with mousepad.

If you don't do too many crazy stuffs like gaming, 3d map zooming navigation etc.. just basic operations control nagivation then RK app version 2.02 is all you need. it works well on all my galaxy phones (s3,s4,note2,nexus) and tablet (note 10.1 2014).
If I want to play games, on my stick (GTA3, Asphalt) which controller, do you suggest, for the device?

Not sure if it's the best, but I rather like Able Remote. Have to temporarily spoof the box to appear to be a Google TV to the Play Store (or obtain the app that goes on the box elsewhere and sideload) to install Able Remote for Google TV on the box and install the regular Able Remote on the phone. There are some sections in the remote that will be useless unless you're on an actual Google TV, channels for instance, but the keyboard and mouse modes work well, and there's even a launcher on the remote where you can choose what app on the box to launch. Could pin your most used ones on one of the pages of the remote.
Hello,
Can you share the Able Remote for Google TV apk, i can't find it on the internet.

I would suggets you buy a key board with touch pad, I have been struggling with my Tronfy xbmc media player a lot before i bought a keyboard.
You should go here to find this app that can use mouse in the Fire TV and other android box, and also can sideload the app from its app center, I use it for my MXQ box, nice!

[REVIEW] Review of the Zidoo X1 Android TV Box, a Singaporean's perspective

MY LOVE FOR ANYTHING ANDROID!
I have been using the Android OS for 5 years now. Back then, I made a switch to the HTC Hero (v1.5, Cupcake) from a Sony Walkman non-smartphone because I wanted to get out of the auto-restart problem that I was facing back then. I have never looked back since then, because of the seemingly limitless potential that the Android OS has due to the developers – the custom roms, Xposed modules, great apps. I've personally used Sony, LG, Samsung phones powered by Android, iPad powered by the iOS, Nokia phones powered by Windows over the past 5 years. Every OS has their own sweet spots. I'm also into the development of China phones such as Xiaomi, OPPO, MEIZU and Lenovo, mostly with reviews and posts from gizchina.com
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH AN ANDROID TV BOX
In Nov 2013, I purchased from Geekbuying, out of curiosity of what an Android TV box can do, a Tronsmart MK908II RK3188. The idea of having an Android TV box sounds like a cool idea. I could connect portable drives to watch videos, share crystal clear photographs with relatives, get connected to YouTube, monitor the stock market on a BIG SCREEN. However, I didn’t have a good experience with using the Tronsmart TV Box, not due to its processing speed or design, but because it didn’t have a good connection to the WIFI from the room where the box was supposed to be used at. I didn't bother getting a WIFI extender as I wanted to keep things simple. In the end, I gave it away to a relative of mine for better use.
SHOULD YOU BUY AN ANDROID TV BOX?
Smart TVs are common in most households. Major brands like LG, Samsung and Sony have USB ports inbuilt in TVs, support most common video file formats and subtitles and have Internet browsers, YouTube, . Recently, Sony has introduced their new line of Android TV too. So, why would one buy an Android TV box?
In my opinion, one should buy an Android TV box only if:
1. His/her television set is outdated, old and has no smart capabilities
This is up for debate though. Everyone has different uses for the same thing

2 Inside the box:
The TV box has a plastic-y feel. It doesn't feel premium, as expected of a product at that price level. But with a silver top, it can easily assimilate into any modern home.

The controller's buttons are a bit hard to press. But other than that, I really like the APP SHORTCUT buttons indicated by the red, blue green colors on it. Other useful buttons
'Display' which can change the frequency and resolution (50Hz, 60Hz, 1080p, 720p)
'Recent App' to access other opened apps
'Back' button that I used really frequently throughout the tryout
'Menu' button that can access menus in most apps
The lack of an inbuilt air mouse makes it hard to navigate the screens.
The HDMI cable is about 2m long, good enough for most set-ups!

4 Zidoo RC App
An alternative to the controller provided is the Zidoo RC app. Install the app into an Android phone and be amazed at the choices available for use with the Zidoo X1.
(Screenshots from my LG G3 smartphone, connected to the Zidoo X1 by WIFI)
If you have ever used an Android TV box without a proper keyboard or mouse, you would have understood how painful it is to navigate the screen and type words. Well, with this Zidoo RC app, things become more manageable. There are number pads to enter numbers, a 'Send Text' feature (located at the top right of the app) which allows you to send words like, for example,"Girls Generation", to a YouTube app without clicking each character one by one from the onscreen keyboard. There is also a mouse function, which is buggy. It is not responsive sometimes and the cursor moves too fast when it does move, which render it less useful than intended.

KODI -- Play or stream music, video and photographs with this app. KODI is also available for use in tablets and smartphones and it works, in my opinion, more intuitively than in an Android TV box, mainly due to the lack of a touchscreen function. The second image is a screenshot of my attempt to use an LG G3 streamed (via UPnP) to the Zidoo X1. It took quite a while before the music started playing. Due to its slow streaming speed, I wouldn't recommend any layman to use it. There could be a workaround to improve the speed.

6 Final Thoughts
If you have a Smart TV purchased within the past 4 or 5 years, there are probably few reasons why you should get an Android TV box.
If you do not fall into the above category, the Zidoo X1 will serve as a good upgrade to your current TV.
Get the Zidoo X1 at Geekbuying for US$59.99! (caa 21/7/2015)

[APP][Android 5.0+][SBS VR Browser] surf the web in VR! with NOMone VR Browser

Hello everyone ,
I want to share with you this new android VR browser : NOMone VR Browser

It is a side-by-side android browser that enables you to surf the normal internet pages/content while wearing vr glasses. You can use it also for online streaming, reading manga, watching your favorite videos as if your in a cinema! or even working anywhere without laptop/desktop (just your mobile, keyboard and mouse!).
For devices with Gyro sensor, you don't even need the keyboard and mouse. Just slightly move your head( like gaze based apps), put on your earphones and use its button for clicking/ dragging.
The browser is still undergoing heavy development (like making compatible VR keyboard in the next release isA, theater mode for 360 videos and other cools features ), but it's perfectly usable now.
Let me sum up the main current features:
=================================
Gyroscope based pointer. Move your head and use your earphones/handsfree/controller media button to click. You can perform continuous scrolling by dragging to the top/bottom of the screen. You can also use other configurations (like a USB keyboard/mouse using OTG cable, or a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, or bluetooth keyboard/mouse).
From the options menu, use the calibration settings to get the ideal configuration for your cardboard or VR glasses for optimum VR/3D experience.
Bookmarks. Before putting your phone into the cardboard, open all the links you need and add them to bookmarks. This way you won't have to remove it to type url. Do this until the VR keyboard is ready (in next release if Allah wills).
If you have a small screen, try decreasing the browser scale (in calibration settings) to show more content in the same area.
A basic ad pop up blocking is in place to give you less hassle while browsing.
If you have a bluetooth VR controller, use the mouse mode (press "Fn + D"). You can drag continuously by holding left click down and using the analogue stick.
Opening local video files (From the gallery/file manager. Android 5.0 & 5.1 only. will work on all 5.0+ in next release isA).
Keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+tab, ctrl+shift+tab, ctrl+t, ctrl+shift+t, ctrl+w, ctrl+r, esc).
Sign up for a Cloud 9 IDE account. Happy coding.
Install X11VNC and connect to your remote machine using NOVNC.
Install a local server, like Palapa Web-server and install your tools. Now, control everything from the browser.
Known Issues:
The normal soft-keyboard is not fit for VR browsing.
Can't use the gyroscope cursor to type.
Coming up next:
VR keyboard.
Theater mode (for 360 degree immersion and more video formats support).
Save/Load tabs from last times.

Great! I'm glad it worked well for you
Since you are in Cairo too, may I ask what VR headset are you using? I've been trying to add support for DayDream and GearVR. but I don't nearly have enough cash It would be awesome to get some feedback from these devices owners.

for test purposes I'd suggest you to buy Google cardboard v2 (made with cardboard itself) costs just 2-3 $
another cheap and good enough cardboard

Thanks a lot for your reply . We're planning to do something similar and integrate the cardboard SDK first; as it is available in my country. On the other hand, I can't find any place that sells Daydream and buying it from outside Egypt almost doubles its price. The problem is that Daydream users seam to be the majority of my app users. That's why I'm more interested in testing it on daydream and getting feedback.

yah sorry I cant purchase Nomone vr browser. I wont and cant support censorship. I beat my meat to porn and love it. I have been married for 5 yrs and my wife booty claps to porn to. In fact we watch porn together while I make that booty clap. She loves it! We dont give a crap what you and your company think about porn or us for that matter. You should care about making money on your hard work but you obviously dont. Do you and your religion care about anything? lol:silly::silly:
is the development of this still active?
I was going to recommend a feature for gestures on the remote keyboard/mouse app.

Thanks mate. Please do share your experience with Mantis, here or via the In-App feedback system. ✌
Bro thank you for this!

Setup & Gameplay Video for Mantis Pro is out. Go watch
Very nice project thank you!
I have a new Razer Kishi controller, connecting my Xiaomi mi 8 via USB-C port.
The Mantis app recognizes the controller, recognizes the input via calibration and I'm connected to the activatebuddywifi.
However, playing a game Genshin Impact and Monster Hunter, the games don't recognize the controller anymore. I've mapped the screen, but can't get it to work.
Any help? Thanks!
I've also been having the problem where after I've mapped the buttons they stopped working. They worked when I initially set them up but not anymore. Also, while they were working, I noticed I couldn't press more than two controls. in Genshin Impact, if I try to move with L-Stick, look with R-Stick and dash with RB, it's like they all cancel out and the player stops moving. Anyone else with this issue?

Hey, since you're using a Xiaomi device, have you made sure you've enabled "Security Settings" in Developer Options? It's crucial that you enable this setting.

Looks like there's some form of aggressive battery saving mechanism at play on your device. Have you tried Restarting your Device and trying again? It might solve the first issue.
Which Controller are you using? Thanks.
