Hi guys,
I now Rooting BB0 with WW Firmware 8.6.5.21: with this method:
1 - Format SD card with 16GB NTFS (I tried this method to format 5 times)
2 - Copy the file and EP101_SDUPDATE.zip WW_epad-user-8.6.6.19.zip on the micro SD and internal memory of the pad. (Actually I do not know which works but when in doubt I copy both)
3 - The pad is started, connected to the PC. Insert the SD card into the slot. The pad recognizes an update. Open this update and wait 10 minutes the installation is done.
4 - restarts the pad, you do not lose your programs and it is up to date.
5 - Copy the file to your RecoveryInstaller.apk Razorclaw_1.0.1.apk and pad to be root.
6.End
This method worked because I have redone 5 times by formatting my micro SD.
I hope this is helpful.

Lot of thanks for this forum and others users !!!!
Hi,
Just trying to follow your procedure.
I'm stuck at the very beginning: I've got a 4Gb microSD (I had in my Blackberry).
How am I supposed to format it?
I think this is the key because it doesn't work!!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Format it on your PC. Best to use a program like SD Formatter.
Thanks mate!
It worked, it was a pain but I am rooted now...
Just about to launch recoveryinstaller.
As I am running a BB0 TF, is it really safe? I've heard nasty things about bootchip for this revision.
Thanks,
Will

Nope, BBO is simply the build date: in hex format, B's value is 11, so build date is 2011.11, or November, 2011

Oh, I know what happen...
The default "Backup" function change from ext-sdcard to int-sdcard,
so no space for it to create a backup file...
Therefore backup need choose the function of Backup to external sdcard.
Tested, backup & restore function are fine! Thanks!!! :good:
Thanks, about time we got some recovery love
Any bugs we should be aware of in this build?
seems to working perfect, thanks a lot

I can backup and restore without any problem's on my ExternalSd.
Please check if your sd card is formated as exFAT.
Official Clockworkmod doesn't support exFAT formated sdcard's.
what does silence mean here? does it mean it is so stable and all working good? does it flash themes and wiping properly?
as long as wiping, backup and restore works great on this I think it this is good news. Trying this out.

As I said in the other thread, you're using exFAT which isn't supported.
Also, there is an official CWM 6.0.2.8 now, look here. (his tar has the wrong version number in its filename, it actually is 6.0.2.8)

Sorry, I don't want to come across as annoying but I really am not using exFAT, as I have explained on the other thread. FAT32 was used with a cluster size of 32kb.

my phone GT I9100. I formatted by my phone under ics on my 64gb cl10 card was fat32 about year ago. Recently I upgraded to jb due to boot loop peoblem, I wipe my phone including formatting msd card. This time it formatted to exfat and many problems I had encountered cwm and mobile odin no recognised it. So I should said for 64gb msd, under ics format by phone was fat32. Under jb it will be exfat.
Send via i9100 using XDA premium,
ROM: Stock XWLSD
Kernel: Phil XWLSD V4.35
superSU 1.04
Can you re-upload recovery Odin version (link is broken on the fist page) ?
Or how change cwr version to odin version ?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for port. The recovery won't mount sdcard though so cannot sideload anything. Why is that?
What I did:
- I accidentally wiped all data in tablet - ROM, etc. Only left is Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.2.0 recovery console
- I put Android.zip (installation files) into Micro SD Card
- I boot into recovery (TWRP)
- TWRP does not read/detect the SD Card
- There is no files in /sdcard except one; /sdcard/TWRP/.twrps
I also
- installed adb on PC
- did 'adb devices' - no device detected when connect between tablet and PC
How?
Hello, I happy to know that I'm not the only one to have this problem.
I know it's my mistake and I'll be more carefull about doing these stuff.
I have the same problem as you, I wiped all data and only left TWRP(v2.1.5).
I tried to connect the TF300T to the laptop but I can't access to the root of the tablet (no device appeared in the window Computer).
I have all the drivers installed, also the adb, but in the "cmd" (win+R), there's no devices connected, so I can't put the original Rom to reinstall it.
So, as the TF300T has a micro sd card reader I put the zip Rom into a micro sd, but once in the recovery (TWRP) I can't access to the external sd, it doesn't appear.
Does anybody have a suggestion or have a similar problem?
First I would flash the latest twrp, (2.4.1.0) then d still a no go format sd card via fat32 (I personally like EXFAT) but only 2.4.1.0 can read that format.

After v2.4.1.0 I began to see my card where before I could not, so I guess they improved this

Same thing happening to me, I accidentally wiped system and my pad will not read the sdcard to flash a rom. Im on TWRP 2.4.1.0. Anyone have any suggestions please?
Edit: Tried a different SD Card (non SDHC) and its reading it. Lesson learned haha.
how should i update twrp , my pc do not recognize my phone anymore
How about we just tell it like it is. The people at TWRP don't care, as long as it wasn't THEIR device that this affects. Considering the last post on this was from March, I can say it seems they don't GAF. This just shows, though less visually appealing, sometime CWM surpasses TWRP without even trying.

My problem started when I upgraded my version of TWRP from 3.0.2 to version 3.1.1.0 that failed to recognize the sd card to install root and / or to store backup in sd, after much research I found no practical solution, and decided to do downgrade to version 3.0.3 of TWRP and my problem has been fixed
i have still the same issue cause it is unable to connect
because of drivers of my pc
there is a small not working sign on driver

Hello, Everybody!
CAUTION : I'm not responsible for any damage to your device.Use at your own risk
I want to introduce to you a Team Win Recovery Project 2.4.1.0 for Onda V972.
I think it will be usefull and for Onda V812, and V971, maybe other A31 tablets.
That TWRP works on 32 Gb version of Onda V972.
Installation TWRP Recovery on Onda V972
Before installing TWRP, you need to get root. All latest stock firmware comes with root, you need only install Superuser or SuperSU from Play Market
Download the Onda_V972_TWRP.zip from that post and extract it to any folder on your computer.
Copy all three files from your computer internal disk (ONDA_MID on you computer and /sdcard on tablet)
Install the application Terminal on the tablet and run it.
From the terminal emulator enter the following command:
Code:
su
Press Enter. Allow access to the application or SuperSU SuperUser
Code:
busybox sh /sdcard/install-recovery.sh
Press Enter. This command installs new recovery to your tablet.
Code:
busybox sh /sdcard/reboot-recovery.sh
Press Enter. This will load the device mode recovery.
You can also use the standard way of loading in recovery - While the tablet is off press Home button and holding it press the Power button untill 4 core logo appears.
If something goes wrong, you need to flash the firmware via Stock PhoenixSuit and during flashing select "YES" to the question about formatting.
It is not bug free version, there is a error: Unable to mount '/recovery' I will try to fix all bugs.
I repeat: Use it on your own risk!

Thanks to Dees_Troy and all TWRP team for great work!

Probably yes, a mistake was made.
If you load the default recovery, the installation on TWRP was not successful.
Did you get done after command busybox sh install-recovery.sh?
Do you got root?
Please, do screenshots of installation process and post them here.

Hi, Steve!
I take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent work SuperNova!
As regards that TWRP, I told, that it`s like an alpha version with a lot of bugs, and not everything working propertly. I just tested installing custom rom (SuperNova 3.1 and Iberica v.2) and it`s worked. And on my forum I asked people who have 32 Gb version of tablet if they can to install custom on their tablet, and they confirmed, that it`s work pretty good.
Just want to clarify a bit more on that as is currently working of that alpha version of TWRP.
When you boot into TWRP without external microSD card your internal memory (/sdcard on tablet and ONDA_MID on computer) will be Internal Storage in Mount menu of TWRP
When you boot into TWRP with external microSD card it will mount like a Internal Storage again, and there is no tablet real /sdcard mounted.
I also would like to note that in the Mount menu, item Mount SDCard will not work! Never! Now we are working on fix that problem.
But now, I made a new version, lets call it TWRP_Onda_v972_ver02 and it can mount both ext-sd and internal memory. But ext-sd you need to mount manualy, and we are working on that too.
In new version:
Internal Storage is a internal tablet memory (/sdcard on tablet and ONDA_MID on computer) Mounts at /sdcard
SD-Ext is a External microSD card, don`t forget to mount it manualy. Mounts at /sd-ext
Many thanks, my friend.
Now I can do the next Supernova wirh Aroma Installer :good:.
Greetings.

Hi, aryanitinkumar!
New recovery always overwrite the earlier one, so there is no big manual about installing new TWRP on old TWRP.
Today I compiled a new TWRP version for Onda V972 based on lastest stable TWRP 2.4.4.0
The internal and external memory mounts properly.
The internal memory is mounted in /sdcard
External memory is installed in the /external_sd
You can store backups on both the internal and the external memory.
External card mounted automatically.
Checked the backup and restore - worked great!
But now I publised on 4pda.ru to 32Gb version owners test it on their tablets. If everything will be good, I will publish it here!

Hi everybody, I do need some help. A few days ago, the tablet badly cusched. After restarting it, I noticed some application were missing, so I restarted again and got the green Emergency screen...
I wiped the tablet with PhoenixSuit and reinstalled the rom and everything went fine, but now every time I restart the tablet it looks like \cache and \data are wiped. That is, if I change settings or install any application and restart the tablet, these are all missing as if the tablet has just been flashed new. This happens with every rom I tried to flash. I confirm that I have no problem in accessing the recover (both stock and CWM).
As you can guess the tablet in these conditions is useless, any suggestion will be very appreciated!

Are there known issues w/ TWRP for Pie on our device where it can't decrypt the external SD card? (Yes, I searched, but the only thing I could find were people suggesting that people search for answers, so that didn't help much).
I unlocked the bootloader, adb'ed TWRP 3.2.3-5 temporarily, but no matter what I do TWRP can't mount my SD card. I've set an unlock p/w and a decrypt p/w and neither allow me to view the contents of the SD card. I also formatted the SD card but TWRP was only able to see it after i changed it to EXT2 then to EXT4, but then it reverts to not seeing it after rebooting the device and dropping Magisk onto the card itself.
So now I'm stuck w/ unlocked stock Pie which isn't rooted because I can't flash Magisk. I was unable to find a way to adb Magisk onto the device to avoid TWRP, but alas, I don't think that's possible.
So, am I an idiot (100% likely) or are there known issues where we can't actually root via TWRP (either temp install or perm install) and I've just got to be patient until it happens? (Or maybe downgrade to Oreo, root, flash an Oreo ROM e.g. LeeDroid then update it through Magisk).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno about this as i relocked mine but mine was working fine from SDCARD, btw latest version of twrp is 3.3.1-0, apart from this why not putting magisk zip and magisk manager into phone storage and flash from there instead of using SDCARD?

Hi. Any chance you can give instructions on how you solved your problem? I'm currently in the same boat, TWRP can't see anything in internal and microsd card.
Cheers

I actually ended up sideloading Magisk via TEMP TWRP to root.
I am curious about the random microsd working. Could you list the brand and size you tried? Which was the one that worked?

I'm guessing the Kingston being 32gb was the only fat32 formatted. Probably the fat32 that makes it readable...

I have 64GB ---> 512GB microsd's, but Windows can't format Fat32 above 32GB, would need a third-party software.

I have a Mac at work that allowed me to format a 200GB microsd in FAT32. And... Our suspicion was right, the FAT32 was readable.
Now just have to remember this or use the "Sideload" feature in TWRP in the future... Thanks for indulging me...

It's nothing to do with the format of the Sdcard, it won't mount anything larger than 32gb when flashing from the Sdcard (Sdcard ruu flashing) it also won't allow you to flash magisk in temp twrp, Ive tried formatting all cards i have ,then tried again. In one of the main instructions of rooting it says no bigger than 32gb can be used. I can flash HTC 10,U11 & U11+ using a 128gb card but not the U12+ ,it won't recognise it in the bootloader /download mode when trying flash but works with any 32gb card I've tried (fat or exfat) I'm using a cheapy, this caused me no end of grief when I tried to root, twrp 3.3.1 was the only version I could boot twrp (2.47.709.1 htc 621)

Hi,
To install a .zip, you need a 32 MAX! but on my 128 in fat32 no problems to make a backup TWRP.Before passing it in fat32 TWRP did not have access!
PS: For a RUU I do not know? there is no HTC Pie RUU for the moment!

It won't mount Sdcard for flashing if bigger 32gb, had to buy a card lol, you can downgrade on HTC u12+ . I bricked mine & went to 1.53.709.3 ,took ages though & several reboots after flashing Sdcard method, there's a exodus thread on how to do it, I did it on dugl imagine ruu, Sdcard method. Have you looked on Android file host for ruu?
