Show Cap that android user need monster Hunter Freedom Unite to be ported to android! - Android General

"Mobile gamers around the world rejoiced with the announcement of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS. Now that it has been released, and people had the chance to try it and see how great it is, most of us feel left out by Capcom's decision to release it only for iOS.
Android has a much bigger installed base, even narrowing down to devices with the minimum required hardware to run the game.
I'm making this petition to show Capcom how many people want an Android version of MHFU, and what a big business opportunity it is for Capcom to invest on this, making millions of Monster Hunter fans around the world very happy, including people how already own the original PSP version, or the PSVita release, but want an improved version with better graphics, slicker controls, and most importantly, online functionality without the need for additional hardware and other hassles."

[CONFIRMED] Com2Us

First of all, we apologize for the late reply.
We are, in fact, working on porting one game and another to Android version.
Since Android market has so many types of devices and OS, it takes longer for us to port iphone version of game into Android’s.
We are definite aware of the growing user pool in Google market. We will try harder to make other games to be available for Androids.
Thank you for your patience.
Best regards,

Well, if you are the ones that created Slice It, well done! It's one of my fave games on Android, runs ok on my Hero, except the menus. Slow and laggy for some reason. But as I said, game plays ok!
I bought in on your Black Friday specials and got:
- Caligo Chaser
- Homerun Battle 3D
- Heavy Gunner 3D
Excellent games! I will definitely be buying your games as you release them.
Homerun 3D battle rocks..
If the new games are graphically as great as this game I will surely buy them...

Yeah, I have purchased your Home Run 3D and I love it.. You guys do a great job.

why does gameloft ignore android so badly!!!

why do gameloft games comes after 3 or 4 months after it came for iphone?? android phones have more powerful hardware than iphone..sometimes when i search for gameloft games for android..the iphone ones show up and there are so many amazing gameloft games for iphone which havent released in android like "sacred of odyssey" "shadow guardian" "nova 2" "dungeon hunter 2" "eternal legacy" "star battalion" "asphalt 6" "hero of sparta 2"....why so much hate towards android will we get those games any sooner? is there anything we can do to get them soon?
Lets face it, they have a huge fan boy following. Hell even the media it's biased towards apple, so of course they are going to cater. Their app market it's also bigger, giving them more competition, no matter how useless some of them are. That and from what I hear, doing know the truth of it because I don't know how to crack, android apps are easier to pirate. Kind of annoying, but then I sit and look how much freedom I have with my phone, and it makes me feel so much better. If phone were sociopolitical movements, iphones would be communism and android the free world

As far as I see it apple can go and die! All they have is a headstart. This year will be the year of Android!

Apple app store makes devs way more money than the Android one, that and fragmentation are Android's biggest problems.

Yep. iPhony devs only have one primary OS to deal with, whereas Android is often customized by carrier, phone model, region and version meaning devs have to work way harder at developing on it.

[Q] Do you think Android is a lucrative platform for developing 3d games?

Hello All,
I'm new to your forum but I've been developing software and games for over 25 years. After recently retiring my Zii Egg to a PMD after ZiiLabs failed to release the dev community a bug free version of Android that actually purposefully was left with hardware support disabled. All the hardware features were there running off their crap OS but they left it out for the Android developers.
Basically I got fkd out of $500 or something..Big deal, I moved on with our PC game development and forgot about Android until last Christmas when I was traveling to see my Family in Texas and had a chance to play with my sister's Galaxy running 2.1. There were limitations but the potential amazed me so I went out and grabbed a Droid X and started digging into the device.
My question to anyone who may have insight is: IS it worth my time to develop for Android when so many are becoming unhappy by the device limitations set by the carriers. For instance if I was to develop a multiplayer realtime simulation or game the technologies that are employed by the carriers such as B.O.D. (Bandwidth on Demand) would create insane latency issues.
Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.
Ty and Peace!

Right now I feel the market for android is... Well stupid. Most people that have android phones aren't especially tech savvy and really don't know what kind of potential there phone has right at this moment.
Unlike IOS which is one form of hardware that anyone can jump on and play a game, regardless of it's release date and the current technology in their slightly newer Ipod Touch or Ipad.
But, I think that's going to change. Tablets are coming out from all kinds of manufactures and a lot of people are looking to jump in on the excitement. Nvidia is making a quad core processor and gpu (Kal-El) that is really showing a lot of performance benchmarks.
So I do think the market is going to get bigger, better and more lucrative as the serious gamers starting switching to tablets for their gaming needs.
But again... Do remember that it's going to take awhile as tablets still aren't a replacement for a computer and they still don't trump little johnny and susie's want of the PS Vita or 3DS.
Thank you for your very comprehensive answer! Sounds like I'll stick to PC and console game dev a bit longer before dipping into the Android zone. I really love the potential of the device but I concur that the demand won't exceed other platform's that are already very lucrative.
Thank you again for your response
Peace
I think 3D cell phone gaming is a hugely untapped market that will see some hugely major growth in the next few years. I myself just purchased a Sony Xperia Play. I don't think the Play will be a massive hit, but I think it will set the stage to get people seriously thinking about 3D gaming on their phones. By the time the Play 2 comes around, I think we are going to start seeing a lot more interest in 3d gaming on people's cellular devices.

[Q] WP7 Marketplace

Hi guys, i have an HTC Mozart with custom rom and i love it, but i really want to know why the market doesn't have the games that the other market have, like fifa 12, dead space ecc, i really want to play those game on my wp7
And an other question: why the price are so high (angry bird, fruit ninja ecc.)?
Sorry for my bad english
Hi,
There are a couple of reasons why there are less games. First off the WP7 marketplace is the newest out of the three app marketplaces of iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. It just takes time to build up a lot of apps, and WP7 has had the least time so far.
Since it is the newest marketplace, it prevents a lot of devs from trying the platform. For indie developers, not that much. But for larger studios there needs to be at least a certain user base before they will develop apps. I have also heard some people mention that it requires additional work to port existing games over to WP7.
This is what leads to the higher prices for the well known games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja. Since less high profile games have been ported over, the well known games can charge more. There really isn't an incentive for them to lower prices since they are already known on other platforms and are past the "give away stuff to get your name out phase".
Additionally, Xbox Live games seem to come at a $3 minumum, although there are a couple of free ones that just give a few points (like, 50) of gamerscore. If you don't limit yourself to the big-name games, you'll see a lot of indie ones that are free or only a dollar, and some are very high quality. The trick is sorting through them to find the good ones.

Additionally if you want a game but don't like the price watch it for a while, it might go on sale or maybe even free for a limited time.

Android accomplishments

I have an idea, that I imagine is not at all original. An idea that I have harbored for a long time now, but seems ever more important as the release of android gaming consoles become a reality.
I think that android needs "achievements" or trophies or accomplishments if you wanna be original. I'd love to see Google "certify" certain game titles (because crappy short easy games would ruin the system) and have each title have a max of 100 accomplishment points and perhaps even have gamer ID's like Xbox live. What do you guys think? I just knew my brother rents a lot of games he wouldn't otherwise play to get achievements and it seems like it could be a great thing for developers.
