[Q] Problem with Google Play / Google Play Games

A couple of days ago I phoned Google Play Support to report that several apps were missing from My Apps tab in Google Play (web and app). What they suggested was that I should download the apps again and then they would be showing in the respective tab.
I tried what they suggested but it simply couldn't be performed (Google Play simply doesn't allow it).
Then I sent the following e-mail to them:
I tried downloading again the apps that are no longer showing in My Apps tab and looks like the problem is still there.
My Google Play app version (at least on my smartphone) is 4.3.11 and I'm running AndroidOS 4.3.
I have 4 groups of apps:
1 - Free apps downloaded from Google Play;
2 - Apps purchased from Google Play;
3 - Free apps downloaded from other services (Amazon, etc.);
4 - Apps purchased from other services (Amazon, etc.).
I have 2 devices connected to my google account ([email protected]): a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S III) and a tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1).
These 4 groups can still be divided into 2 groups each: apps that are and that aren't installed in my devices at the moment. So that would total 8 groups.
I tried the solution you suggested earlier: downloading the apps again.
However, I am facing the following problem: at least for apps from groups 1 and 2, that are still installed in my devices, Google play won't let me download them again (neither from the site nor from the app) because looks like they're already installed in my device(s). For instance, the app "Plague Inc.". I installed it a few days ago. Then I bought the in-app ad-free key. It's installed only on my tablet. If I try to install it again from the app in the device, it simply won't let me because it's already installed in it. If I try to install it again from the Google Play site the device will be greyed out (not available) because the app is already installed in the device.
This happens for all apps in groups 1 and 2 that are still installed in the devices.
Looks like the solution would be to uninstall and re-install it. However, I don't want to run the risk of losing all my data (progress).
Because the apps don't show in My Apps tab of the Google Play (app or site) a consequence (for the games only) is that they don't show in the Google Play Games app.
This is my main concern: the games. The Google Play Games app, intended to the a hub for android games, can't show the games I own (installed or not) because they are no longer in my Google Play history (My Apps tab). And, as a consequence, the data (progress, achievements, multiplayer gaming possibility, etc.) won't be available for me.
This is my first problem.
A second problem is: how does Google Play and Google Play Games handle the apps (especially games) from groups 3 and 4? They're not showing too.
This is really upsetting me.
How can we sort it out?
Thank you for listening to me and thank you in advance.
Well, friends, I guess you're my last resort. I've tried Google Play Support Team and their suggestion was to uninstall all my apps and then install them again.
I really don't think this is very intelligent... Do you have any suggestions?
Bump
Any suggestions?

Market Helper works with Nexus Player

Market Helper is an application for rooted android devices developed by redphx. The application allows you to spoof the Google Play Store into thinking you are using a different device, with the key benefit of allowing the user to download applications that the Play Store flags as "not compatible with device." The application does not alter the build.prop file. More information and a download link can be found at the link below:
codekiem.com/2013/02/13/market-helper
I was able to successfully use this application on my rooted Nexus Player. This is noteworthy because the latest posts in the support thread for the application say that it does not work with Android L, and that the dev is retired, such that an Android L compatibility update is unlikely. The Nexus Player runs Android L, and the application worked perfectly to spoof my NP as an Asus Transformer tablet.
Thanks for sharing this is a great news... do you see all the apps using NP's Play Store ? and how about paid apps ?

To be clear, this opens up app availability in the web version of the Google Play store. So you can sideload any app from the web Play Store. I did not see an expanded app selection in the Android TV Play Store app.
Yes, this absolutely works for paid apps. The whole reason I tested this was to get the Slingplayer for Tablets app on my NP. I was happy to pay $15 for the app, but became extremely frustrated that I could not legitimately download the app because I do not own any other android device besides my NP. By rooting my NP and using the Market Helper app, I was able to spoof the Play Store into thinking my device was an android tablet and bypass the restriction. Slingplayer for Tablets 3.5.2 works well on NP as long as you have a mouse.
Awesome I think you have achieved something today, so far I think this is the best method to get paid apps to the NP... I will give it a try today
Edit:
It works like a charm yay

badass
this is badass thankyou
How do I get it to activate?
It's allowing me to pick what I want and all but once I try to activate it, it force closes.

Google's Android For Work App Hits The Play Store

In February, Google proclaimed "Android is yare for work," marking an official opening to the Android for Work effort first introduced at Google I/O 2014. Today, Google's official Android for Work app has hit the Play Store, yare to avail users running Android 4.0-4.4W (since setup is built into Lollipop) and working with Android for Work partner solutions set up their contrivance for work use.
For those out of the loop, Android for Work is Google's take on dual-persona contrivance management, sanctioning users to have two replicas of the same app - one for personal use and one for business. The two are securely kept separate from one another but appear on the same contrivance, betokening users can jump between work and personal apps effortlessly, kenning that data from work apps can't carry over or commix in with the apps' personal counterparts.

Sounds cool but can you name examples of this when it would be useful? And to who?
Good explanation but I guess I'm more out of the loop than I thought.

inkBOOK Obsidian e-Reader*Android 4.2.2

The purpose of this post is to provide rooting and useful app information for newer e-Ink eReaders. If you're not interested in the background, just skip the next two paragraphs.
I am a very firm believer that Adobe's e-ink is really the only way to go if you are going to do any eBook reading other than infrequent or incidental.
For a number of years I have used a Nook (running a very early version of Android - 2.1) . I like to use cloud services like OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox to access and store my epub files. Recently these services have been updating their authentication. File Explorers like Fx or ES File Explorer have updated their apps but only the older versions (which now cannot access several cloud services) will install on the ancient Android version on the Nook. Thus I was relegated to USB Cord file transfer or upgrade to an e-Reader runs a newer version of Android.
I chose the one listed in the title above, the inkBOOK Obsidian. But there are a series of eReaders that basically run this same Android 4.2.2; Boyue and Onyx to name two. These instructions are specific to the InkBOOK but at least some of them will work on other eReaders running this Android 4.2.2 variant. For instance the rooting instructions I'm going to refer you to were written for the Boyue.
Rooting: See

(see also
http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/20...and-roms-for-onyx-and-boyue-android-ereaders/
For a list of other rebranded eReaders that this method works for)
These eReaders were built assuming you'd use the pre-installed software so lack some pretty essential apps if you are going to use other useful software.
PlayStore: I was unable to get the method in the package in the link above to work but the app Yalp Store works just fine

Full Settings:
S4Galaxy Settings for Froyo ~ JB
This is on PlayStore (and Yalp) but it is not recognized as compatible with these eReaders so you have to cross-load

Switch to and/or close recent apps:

Use Yalp to get it

Download Wear OS(Android Wear) Apps

Hi All, I'm uploading some wear OS apps here which I've installed and tested in my Mi Watch. I thought this may be helpful for some one who is looking for apps to sideload(mostly who don't have google play store access in their watch) in to their watch.
I just exported these APKs from my Mi watch and uploaded here. So, I don't know this will work with all wear OS watches.
If you guys have any wear OS apps backup which is not in this list please upload here. It will be helpful for users like me who don't have access to play store.
Note : Some apps need a companion app on the phone to work.
Note : None of these of apps are developed by me. I've just googled found these apps.
Some more extracted apps here for wear os
some more
some more...
some more...
Can anyone help me to download the wear application made by appfour including mail client, documents, and photo gallery.

As for installing via adb, depending on your watch you can use adb through wifi or adb connected by the cable. But you may try other methods described, which dont require PC
