Problems on 4.4.4 - Sony Xperia M2

Hi everyone,
I've installed 4.4.4 firmware on my M2.
But I've got many problems;NFC not working, mobile data sometimes got offline.
I'm thinking of downgrade, but I'm afraid of voiding warranty.
What should I do?
Thanks!

If you don't unlock bootloader you won't lose warranty.

Hi, unfortunatley I don't think it is possible at the current point in time as the 4.4.4 update comes with a brand new partition table (On the GPE anyway but both are practicly stock), however your issues may be fixable.
When I upgraded my Moto G (4.3 to 4.4) it caused lots of wierd issues, I just backed up my data, factory reset it and it worked like clockwork. I just don't think they have got upgrading perfected yet on any O/S or phone
Not sure how it is with a locked BL.
But i was able to run 442 on a 444 gpt.bin.

It depends but on the GPE people have had issues with the partition table

[Q] How do I root my Sony Xperia Z3 d6603?

Hi
I just got my phone, but missing the benefits of rooting.
Can anyone tell me how to unlock the bootloader and then root my phone?
Found a lot of links, but not sure which are secure and not to use.
Here's where you go to unlock your bootloader - http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
Once unlocked, you can flash root or do whatever at that point.
Warning though, you will lose your DRM keys in this process, if you don't know what that means, do some research

Is their any way to back them up? So if I ever regret, I can get them back?
Also, is it possible or will it ever be possible to root with an locked bootloader?

You need root to backup DRM keys.
You cant get root without unlocking the bootloader yet.
Youll lose DRM keys when you unlock the bootloader.
If you cant take losing your DRM keys do not unlock and root.

Last question. I got Samsung before and I was able to update my phone with Kies after rooting. Is their any way to update Sony devices when rooted?
Thanks
Flashtool or PC Companion. I prefer the latter.

You sure? As the DRM keys doesn't matter for me, as I don't really use the camera a lot.
But when I unlock bootloader on Sonys website, it tells me I would not be able to get updates from that. But i'm still able to get them with the PC companion?
Just to make sure, as I really want android 5.0 when it comes out.

You can't update with PC companion if you have unlocked your booloader. Your phone will be bricked!

No way to know for sure until someone tries. But with the Z2, you just have to relock your bootloader (might need to revert to a stock kernel first) and then software updates work fine.

There will always be FTF files shared on XDA and you can use flashtool with an unlocked bootloader.

Take a look in the development section
In need of some help, I wanted to root my z3 again, I've downgraded back to .77 but completely forgot how I done it last time, I created a few pre-rooted flashables (.77, .690 & .726) but I'm having trouble finding how to install custom recovery.. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is no need to spam multiple topics.
YES, it can be done. NO, we can't tell you how because you didn't post your phone model or Android version.

[Q] Is it possible to root 5.0.1 without unlocking the bootloader?

Title pretty much says it all. I upgraded to 5.0.1 w/o realizing I'd loose root. I don't really want to unlock my bootloader but I sure would like root for various apps like Tasker, Titanium Backup, etc.
Unfortunately, at this time there is no way to root without unlocking your bootloader. The only way to do it was to update to 5.0 from rooted kitkat and retain root. But unlocking your bootloader isn't so bad your hardware warranty will still be honored.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, the warranty is all I'm really concerned about. Guess I'll need to check on nVidia's forums for that answer?

Unlocking your bootloader is fully supported by Nvidia so it will not void your warranty as the previous poster stated and you disregarded.

How to set "locked" again the bootloader after unlock?

Hi guys, I've unlocked the bootloader, then I tried to lock it again, but now BL is set on "RELOCKED" and not on "LOCKED".
So, I think, in case I've to send my phone in warranty, I will have problems!
So, the question is: how can I set again in "LOCKED" the bootloader?
Thank you so much!
Did you not use the unlock code provided by Huawei? Otherwise, they already know you voided the warranty.

There is no way if you did it with the 16 digit code. It will be only relock and no lock. Had you used the other way of unlocking, you may have locked it again. Whats the requirements, only to regain warranty?

Yeah, I've requested the code, but it doesn't mean nothing: I Can request it but it doesn't mean that I have to use it! ^_^

I knew about dc-unlocker, a payware program.. Does It works?

Don't worry. Unless you run into something very critical you wont need it..even though if you go to service centre, not all cares for bootloader.

unlocking bootloader void warranty?

just bought a USA version. wants to know if unlocking bootloader void warranty? if so then I could just get a third party warranty from squaretrade or something
Unfortunately yes it would.
If you are fully familiar with rooting , hopefully you won't need a warranty
