I have installed miui rom on my nexus 5 and yesterday i tried updating franco kernel on hopes that it will give longer battery life. But unfortunately i guess the kernel isnt compatible with the rom and miui will just hang in the logo screen wont load at all.
I tried getting into recovery and cleaning up everything but still no luck.
adb/fastboot doesnt detect my device at all. Can someone through some light on how to recover my phone now.
Also I got clockwork recovery installed. is there a way for me to directly gets files from internet or push to the devices ?
Hi,
You can always just flash miui again and that will restore it's kernel. Then you will be back up and running. If miui zip is still on your device.
Otherwise, you can try restoring stock... But you need to sort out your driver issues to use fastboot. Try reinstalling the n5 drivers, try another cable... Even try another computer. Here's a guide on returning to stock,

Any further questions about your device should be posted here...

Hi,
Flashing anything not made for your specific device is a good way to destroy your device. It's a huge no no in this hobby.
This thread is your only option at this point, and you can ask for help with it here...

Hi, I am COMPLETELY new at rooting, so please bear with me. I just rooted my nexus 4 a week back and got paranoid. Today, I installed a mod to change the recent apps format to android l. However, when i installed it using CWM, it successfully installed, but then got stuck in a bootloop. The phone wont connect to my computer by USB at all (USB debugging is on), so i cant delete the file that caused it from my computer. In CWM, i wiped all data/factory restored it, wiped all the cache (normal and dalvik), and it still wont boot up. Can someone please help- i need the easiest way possible, since im completely new, as I said. Not restoring to stock os would be preferable. Thanks.

Hey guys, so I don't know very much at all about android but this site seemed to me to be the best place to try and get an answer.
I own a Nexus 5 running stock Android.
Today I attempted to download and install Android Lollipop however i think something unlucky happened.
Halfway through the download my phone apparently reached its monthly data limit and stopped the download.
When it stopped the download window disappeared and when i got home to wifi, i got a notification saying that it had finished downloading and was ready to install.
The download started and the android man came up with the progress bar but when the progress bar reached the end nothing happened.
I then stupidly turned the phone off and when it came back on i noticed that there was the new type of boot screen but it loops on that.
I have alread gone into the restore menu and reset system and cleared the caches but it hasn't worked.
No idea what to do now, please help me!!!!
Thanks
Hi there
You can ask for help here, but please be more specific about what you actually did to your device, so it's more clear on what "formatting" you did.

You will need to register an account on XDA to post there.
