I have tried Asphalt 8 = no lag

I have tried Modern Combat 5 = no lag
I have tried Fifa 15 = no lag
I use Folder Mount (need root) for install games on Micro SD card (32gb).

Need for Speed Most Wanted - no lag
Gta - no lag
Hero's of order and chaos - not smooth in menu but the game itself is fast and smooth
Sent from my D2303 using xda premium

I have installed these games (using Folder Mount too). No lag at all with;
- Dead Trigger 2
- Fast and Furious 6
- NFS Most Wanted
- NFS Hot Pursuit
- NFS Shift
- Asphalt 8
- R-Type II
- Metal Slug X
- Riptide GP2

GTA no lag? I have GTA San Andreas and it isn't work good.

In my M2 (D2303) asphalt 8 doesn't work, it forces close when click OPTIONS and PLAY. It only allow to play the tutorial before the first race, if a chose not to play the tutorial it forces close. I try version 1.60e and latest 1.7.0k, the only version it work is the 1.3.2 I had earlier and keep it as backup (apk + OBB file) before the google play update.

Yes same concept but a little better implemented. Plus the big bonus that you can map touchpads to screen for full Analog control.
I cant try it yet but can anybody tell me if it works fine on CM9 with touchpads and all and if it is possible to do this on the browser (touchpads).
I do have a question about all this though... What's the SPECIFIC reason why ICS is getting all of the love? I mean, Mupen is the only app that got the touch pads working on GB. Is it just easier for ICS and people are just lazing out on the GB coding? ICS isn't even officially out and developers are making things ICS only... Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Google implemented support for keyboards/usb devices etc in ICS which has made it easier to implement the gamepad support - I think.

Correct. ICS has native controller support built in to Googles code so it is very easy to code there apps for controllers. On Gingerbread you have to code for Sony's framework which is not cost effective because of the time it takes and the market (just Xperia play users). FPSE and N64oid could of done this a while back but the dev's knowing ICS was coming left it till now for optimization.
This native support should mean any game made for USB pads (e.g SoulCraft , Inertia plus many more titles as it the next big thing) should be supported on ICS Xperia Play touchpads.

hey guys will this app allow me to map my (xp ice cream ) d-pad controls to the onscreen fifa 12 analog stick
reason i ask was fifa 12 did not allow dpad support, i'm hoping to achive it with this app
This works but some games close the app so it defeats the purpose. Dead space is one of them. Ill test more.
Edit after trying the deadspace from ea site all works
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda premium
how do i map the buttons to screen presses?
After you leave the main app go to the addon with the touch test hold search. Now press button or stick and touch screen where you want it. You can take a screenshot of the game and also setup controls however needed. If you need a slide hold on to the stick for 3 seconds. Only game that it failed on is dead space it closes after the game runs but all gameloft I've tried works. Btw I'm on cm9 fxp117 great addition to cm9 makes the gamepad and touchpads work
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda premium
We need to make some keysetups and export them so we can share them. If author of this thread doesn't want to do it ill start a thread
Edit tried the dead space that ea had for free and this works perfect with it. The market dead space doesn't.

Emulators recommendation ESPECIALLY for fighting games

Hey guys
First of all please do not disregard this topic. Even though it is widely discussed I'm more interested in a an updated form and especially for fighting games.
So, what emulated fighting games would you guys recommend for the Xp and what emulators to run them.
For now I use neodroid and I mostly play garou which is an awesome fighting game.

There is a cps2 emulator by the same developer as the neogeo emulator which plays a lot of those classic street fighter games flawlessly.
the emu was on the play market but got taken down, if you search the general android section you will find the app for free.

Tiger mame + Street fighter alpha warriors dreams / Street fighter alpha 3
Instead for ps1 X-men vs Street fighter...
On TigerMame You have one of the best fighting game ever (little bit forgotten) Street Fighter 3 - and all Neo-Geo and CPS1 2 3 games works great with savestates (but for 4 months saves doesnt work in my XP ) .
Gensoid - Street of Rage 1&2&3, Mortal kombat etc.
FPSE - Fighting Force, Mortal Kombat, Tekken.
All emulators have in libary of games - fighting games.

Silly question, but does anyone else find it difficult to do quarter circle moves with the xperia d-pad? Are there any tips? It may just be me as I've always struggled to do them without a joystick, and tend to be play individual Tekken 3 characters who don't use them as much (e.g. Julia Chang).

I'm the same way, except I play on a Galaxy S 2 (Epic 4G Touch) with a DualShock 3 connected via Bluetooth.
I love nothing more than rocking some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on my phone...but being able to run Mark Of The Wolves flawlessly would be better, IMO.
I wish these emulators would allow you access to dipswitches / operator modes. That would be super nice, seeing as all of their PC counterparts (and console counterparts, too) allow it. Having to add credits is a pain in the balls - I'd just like to set for Free Play and be done with it.
Does FPSE work with the Xperia Play's Gamepad? I was just wondering since I used to use psxperia with the playstation pocket app. Any chance someone would shed some light on the differences between the two?

The famous Wii/GameCube emulator starts its way to Android devices
It will never ever run at all on Xperia Play (well a real game) so dont ever think it will. But thought it was cool to put up for the gamers here getting newer devices and to talk about the future
DOWNLOAD GOOGLE PLAY
Description
THIS APP DOES NOT COME WITH ROMS
- You must have the right to a given ROM before you play it!
- A number of public domain games/demos are available at http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_PageThis is a public preview release of this Dolphin for Android.
This is currently in early beta testing, expect slow speeds, graphical glitches, and a myriad of problems with it.
If you're expecting reasonable speeds out of this, you are sorely mistaken. This will run slow on every single Android device, no matter if it is the most powerful one in the world.
Once we port our OpenGL plugin over, and you use a OpenGL ES 3 capable phone, this will improve a bit.
http://wiibrew.org/ has a bunch of free homebrew applications to try out.
One I particularly like to use is Starfield
http://sonicadvance11.dyndns.org/starfield.dol
Some caveats
- It will crash. Alot.
- Rotations don't work well or at all.
- There isn't /any/ input
- It might need to be force closed and ran multiple times to work.
- It renders video with the CPU entirely with our VideoSoftware backend.
Pros of this, is it will run on almost any hardware. Some limitations are
- Phones that support OpenGL ES 2 (99.8% of the Android Market)
- Phones that have at least 1Gb of RAM
This app is licensed by the GNU GPL v2, and the full source code is available through the public GIT repository at https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/

Looking at the current state of PSP emulation on XPlay, I'm not supporting that statement anymore.
Not long ago I would call delusional anyone hoping for decent PSP emulation on an android phone. Now I'm playing PSP games on my Xplay and even on a weak X10 mini pro.
I'm not sure about what to think anymore... It's really impossible? Are the devs underestimating themselves?

As you know, it was cancled sometime, and then just changed for relase, but as far we know, it should hit 9 May 2013, but in my opinion, for iOS first, then maybe month for Android. Hopefully I'm wrong, but for now, last possible gameplay and source .
CLICK!
[UPDATE:]
Nearly impossible but yes, Blitz Brigade is optimized for Xperia Play with full support, hell yeah! (thanks for fast reply poo-tang )
Also, it seems Gameloft still didn't leave our awesome device, and coming Gangstar Vegas (which won't be freemium!) should also got touchpanel support .
Another great newsis, that game is out right now, when it should be (the same date as iOS, and the same date as Gameloft stated sometime ago. The main problem with the game is that's freemium, but we all know we can easily make it better with some hacks (but don't ask how/where cause XDA is not the place for some type of warez!). To get the game now, follow Google Play link here ->
DOWNLOAD
Oh, and no info for now about XP support.
Yeah, I saw that as well, however when I went to look for the facebook post in question I could not find it on either Gameloft's or Blitz Brigade's facebook pages or any other social media outlets.
The same buddy, but I think it's even too long after they annouce it months ago so I think they should be ready - at least for iOS, so we can expect Android version ~month later .
Great game hope it will be xperia play optimized !!
It's out now
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftINHM
Downloading to test now. Really hope this has controls or we can kiss good bye to Gameloft ever supporting the Xperia Play again I believe. If this don't have controls future games won't either.

Reply back if you download it and try . I'll download it this night, not faster . Thread will be updated once we checked XPlay support, no need to update now .
FULLY XPERIA PLAY OPTIMIZED and shows in launcher.
First thoughts -
1) heavy focused on IAP
2) Works great on Xperia Play not any noticeable lag on stock R800i tested on.
3) Good gameplay and like the fact it's a new take on FPS (Nice colorful without being another COD rip off)
4) Thank f##k Gameloft sorted the SD data compression, the game does not extract itself and stays at 1.29gb
5) Good touchpad controls (swipe to look)

Dreams came true . Thanks poo-tang for fast reply, without you I will update it once I download myself so this night, but you're The Hero! And came with awesome info! Gameloft really don't want to leave us, and Gangstar coming to not be freemium, so another fingers crossed about XPlay support . Cheers! Thread updated!
Seams this game has Online multiplayer voice chat. Wonder how that will work out or effect gameplay, not to mention the look you would get in public shouting at ya phone

Total Stock Sony 0.42 R800i Rom, just with Root and Ram manager (Hard Gaming). It does run ok on this Rom 99% of the time but i think there is a little generic game bug, as i do have the every once in a while (every 60 secs or so) freeze for a second then it starts back. This also happens on another device which is not an XP that i tested it on to, so i guess wait for an update to fix that. still not as bad as MC4 version 1 was

[GAMES] Xperia E Gaming thread

What games are getting all your attention on the Xperia E ? please discus only about games.
Dead Trigger, Plants vs Zombie 2, Angry Birds (all). I have problem only with real racing and FIFA 14

Sorry for my bad English .

I have tried to play Dead Trigger 2 which lagged when moving.
I have tried Need For Speed Most Wanted - Only Lag when playing with Fast Cars like Bugatti Veyron!
I have played Bloons TD 5 - No Lag
I have Played Plants vs Zombies 2 - Lag when too much action on the screen and flower loading animation!
I have played MC4 - No lag (Movement a bit sloppy at times)
I have played Despicable Me 2 - Has a lot of lag (Unplayable)
Wish we could play Injustice and Asphalt 8 on this awsome little phone!
ALL GAMES PLAYED WITH HYPER COLA 1.4 MOD! Thanks to Pizza_Box
MC 4? No lags on A single-core device. Impossible, doesn't most of those games require a Dual-Core device?
With 600 Mhz - 1.3 Ghz clock and smartassV2 governor:
Subway Surfers (no intro needed) - smooth
The Blockheads (cool game, a lot like Minecraft) - ultra-smooth
Asphalt 8 (amazing game on the Nexus 7) - looks bad, lags like hell, and in general is a waste of space.
Crash Time 2 (quite nice, haven't played it a lot) - no lag
Traffic Racer (think Temple Run, without monkeys and with traffic) - no lag
Raging Thunder (nice game, but too fast for me) - lack of lag astonishes me
I'll be trying some other games mentioned up in the thread.

Fifa 14 and lag?
No way.
I seemed to run it with min. lag on stock.
Maybe it's the new update which rolled out,many users seem to say that performance has decreased since the update
I want to share some of the tweaks that I use:
NOTE: THIS WILL TOTALLY KILL MULTITASKING!!
What I do is use any app that handles your minfree values and change them, WILDLY.
Any app like RAM manager pro, autokiller memory optimizer or even the V6 Supercharger script will do!
Set totally extreme values like in the screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now what minfree value do is that they keep on killing applications, till that specific amount of RAM is free. In the screenshot, I have set crazy values for all kinds of background app(like keyboards, launchers, g-apps, etc.) categories, and a low value for foreground apps (for example, a game you're playing).
This will cause all apps, except the app you're using (the game you're playing).
Also navigate to proc/sys/vm/ and open vfs_cache_pressure as text, and change the number to 1000 (you can go greater too)
Trust me, it'll make a difference !

Say what? GTA:VC works amazingly for me, little to no lag. And that's without Hyper Cola and clock on 1 Ghz.
On my stock software does not really work well, has lag
What settings do you use in game?

Well, CM10 works well.
I use default settings, other than increased draw distance and resolution to max.
MOAR games:
Glow Hockey (air-hockey, with some cool lighting effects): Error 404: Lag not found.
Blocky Roads (nice game, only available on Amazon Marketplace): All your lags are belong to non-existence.
Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing (Mario Kart-like game): Major lags on entrance video (can be skipped with tap), extremely minor lags in-game.
Zombie Road Trip (think Cannabalt, with you in a car and zombies chasing you): See Glow Hockey.
Doodle Jump (keep jumping upwards till you fall): See Blocky Roads.
Little Alchemy (mixing stuff to get more stuff): No lag, per se, but picking up elements is extremely difficult (you need to tap in exactly the right place.
Modern Combat 4 is less Lag :| on my stock ROM .
