Emulators recommendation ESPECIALLY for fighting games - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Hey guys
First of all please do not disregard this topic. Even though it is widely discussed I'm more interested in a an updated form and especially for fighting games.
So, what emulated fighting games would you guys recommend for the Xp and what emulators to run them.
For now I use neodroid and I mostly play garou which is an awesome fighting game.

There is a cps2 emulator by the same developer as the neogeo emulator which plays a lot of those classic street fighter games flawlessly.
the emu was on the play market but got taken down, if you search the general android section you will find the app for free.

Yeah I tried that one too but can't get a single image to work. Can you explain how you made it work? Cheers

Tiger mame + Street fighter alpha warriors dreams / Street fighter alpha 3
Instead for ps1 X-men vs Street fighter...

On TigerMame You have one of the best fighting game ever (little bit forgotten) Street Fighter 3 - and all Neo-Geo and CPS1 2 3 games works great with savestates (but for 4 months saves doesnt work in my XP ) .
Gensoid - Street of Rage 1&2&3, Mortal kombat etc.
FPSE - Fighting Force, Mortal Kombat, Tekken.
All emulators have in libary of games - fighting games.

Danke!
Still anyone care to explain about CPSEMU?

Silly question, but does anyone else find it difficult to do quarter circle moves with the xperia d-pad? Are there any tips? It may just be me as I've always struggled to do them without a joystick, and tend to be play individual Tekken 3 characters who don't use them as much (e.g. Julia Chang).

Some of those games are very artistic. Last Blade 1 and 2 are on neodroid's compatibility list as well.

I'm the same way, except I play on a Galaxy S 2 (Epic 4G Touch) with a DualShock 3 connected via Bluetooth.
I love nothing more than rocking some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on my phone...but being able to run Mark Of The Wolves flawlessly would be better, IMO.
I wish these emulators would allow you access to dipswitches / operator modes. That would be super nice, seeing as all of their PC counterparts (and console counterparts, too) allow it. Having to add credits is a pain in the balls - I'd just like to set for Free Play and be done with it.

Does FPSE work with the Xperia Play's Gamepad? I was just wondering since I used to use psxperia with the playstation pocket app. Any chance someone would shed some light on the differences between the two?
Thanks!

Nop. GBA.emu uses .sgm instead .ss0 (gameboid)
Meanwhile an .isav file was created. Anyone know what is exactly?
Does this on work flawless on ics? i had several problems with gameboid...

It's made by Robert ****in Broglia!!!! That's what makes it so much better.
I jest, I jest... I don't actually have this one yet, but I do have all of Broglia's other emulators, and I can tell you that this dude's serious about quality assurance... to a level that most other emulator devs haven't been.
Can someone who has this test the public domain GBA homebrew game Wonkie Guy? It's not even a full game, yet it's been one of my favorites for near a decade... and more importantly, every other GBA emulator I've tried curled up in fetal position and started bawling every time I tried to load it.
Brilliant. I bought his GBC and NGP emulators and they both worked flawlessly, so going to buy this to replace Gameboid. Top notch :good:
Might sound stupid but can you map the dpad to the touchpads in this emulator? - Thanks
Gameboid works good for me but my biggest problem is the graphics look blurry from the upscaling. I would buy this emulator if there is a setting which adds filters to make the games look "better"
I hate to say it but I think people should wait before buying this one. Having bought and now had a chance to test it, I consider the performance of it to be much poorer than Gameboid.
Noticeable on-screen judder during playback with frameskip enabled and slows to a crawl when frameskip is disabled. Sound isn't much better. One can only hope that this gets fixed and much improved with further updates.
The reason I bought this emulator is because all the emulators by this developer allow you to turn off the blurry graphics in the settings, unlike Gameboid and other emulators.
The emulator however is a bit slower but at 1.6GHz all games I tried were full speed to me.
Hope FPse does this (touchpad) in the future, will definitely get this app.

Question?
Does it support Netplay or emulated cable link? for example Mario Kart or Pokemon games
Games like Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Metroid Zero Mission run laggy in GBA.emu.
In gameboid doesn't happen.
Went ahead and bit the bullet.
It plays the games that failed to load on Gameboid. I am satisfied

Seeing as none of his other emulators have cheat capability (if that is incorrect plz correct me) on Android OR iOS I doubt it. And I have both versions (Xperia Play and iOS {5.1.1 Jailbroken on iPhone 4S}) and often sound is a problem in some games like Sonic Advance 3 where all you hear is the music and nothing else (like jumping noises, or other collision noises) and the sound is crap without frame skip to 1.

Description
PPSSPP, a PSP emulator prototype for Android.
PPSSPP is a prototype PSP* emulator for Android (and other platforms).
It's still in very early stages and does not run many games. It's provided here if you want to try it, so that you can automatically receive updates over time - over time this will probably become a usable emulator.
Please go to http://www.ppsspp.org for more information.
IMPORTANT: Please do not give bad reviews due to low compatibility. It takes time.
NOTE: No games are included with this download, you will have to dump your own PSP games and turn them into .ISO or .CSO files, or simply play free homebrew games, which are available online.
* PSP is a trademark of Sony, Inc.

Let's wait and see how this project progresses.
But very good start.

Three SCMUPS - Galaxy Gladiator, VenomBlast, Barrage Ballad!

Just found these, the first one Galaxy Gladiator we can download, all three games are free. So if anyone wants me to get the other two let me know. Barrage Ballad while not too hard, is nice, nice graphics, and some really good Japanese - centric tunes.
I see COLOPL, Inc's strategy is pay to play, with the store and real money playing a part in coins and powerups.
I just feel Android in general is lacking titles like Bug Princess 2, like frickin' iOS gets.

This is something what made me really angry some time ago because on ios they have a lot of cool shmups and on android there were maybe 3 or 4 of them. But meanwhile we get more and more great shmups.
Only Problem is, they are only in Portraitmode, i mean if those games were in Landscape i had no problem with XPO or not because of gamekeyboard.
Thanks for sharing, great looking games.
@cyraxx, I know what you mean. It feels like the only good landscape shooter outside of emulated psx games is Air Attack. There is that new Galaga reboot I posted, but the gameplay is so cramped in landscape I think thats why it wasn't released.

On the subject of shooters, I've just bought Advent Rush: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=game.advent&hl=en
Very nice graphics and sound, gameplay too(from what I can see so far)
and my mate has Battle Squadron ONE, an old amiga game, which has full Xperia Play support: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.copecom.bsone&hl=en
That has a tabletop mode, quite nice, it holds up well in this day and age.
And Magical Cannon Wars, not sure if it's donate version or free, bit it seems solid enough.
And Danmaku Death is a good free game too.
I used to get Market Enabler to work on my Xperia Play, but not lately, might have to try another version or two of it.
EDIT: Now had a chance to play BB Bear, it's ok, not as good as how cute it looks..it does remind me of Bug Princess, with all the insects, which in turn annoys me that CAVE haven't released BG2 or anthing similar to what iOS gets.baahhhhh

I'd recommend Shogun, Battle Squadron One, Danmaku Death, R-Type, and Raiden Legacy. The Cave games seem to work well but I want to play the real thing before trying it on a mobile. Other than that, use an emulator and play in portrait mode holding the play sideways to emulate TATE like Raiden Legacy does. It feels awkward at first but once you get the hang of it you'll fall in love with the Play all over again. Also wanted to add that Radiant Flux wasn't half bad (PSM title).
More SCHMUPS!!!

On ther twitter, they said they will look into 2.3 at some point, as there are a couple of Play owners(myself included), have asked for it.
ICS for gaming on the Play is hit and miss, but on GB it seems far better.
EDIT: "Squarepusher" on their forums, said Android 2.3 support will probably be done soon., so hopefully not too long.
If they can manage to include nds, n64, and psp emulator, with xperia play optimized, it would be totally ultimate..

The current GBA core uses an emulator that is more accurate than Gameboid (ie. a simple port of gpSP) but it is also much, much slower.
Anyway, you will get a much faster GBA core once I port gpSP and add that to the list. However, the VBA Next core will still remain as part of the package for people who want to choose between the two.
Also, GBA is only one core - there are about 13 other cores in this thing - I'm sure you can find something else in the meantime that is more to your liking.
Hi there,
we worked today on Android 2.3 compatibility.
We were able to confirm it runs on a HTC HD2 (2010/2009 phone) - Gingerbread 2.3.3. I just need to know if this works on mainstream Android 2.3 devices now.
If I post an APK here, will you guys be able to test it for me? I want to make sure that there are no big lingering bugs remaining when I push this to the Google Play store.
As soon as you guys can confirm it's working, I can push it out to the App Store and you guys can ditch this test build.
So - any of you want to test?
Count me in.

Awesome great find Legion
I can confirm working great on my Z1, it has no option settings so far but emulation quality is great.

FINALLY! Tried Soul Calibur, Virtua Tennis 2, Daytona Usa 2001, Metropolis Street Racer and all work!! Some have 100% speed (SC, MSR). So great... Yeahhhhh

This emulator has also been optimized for the OUYA so the controller works perfectly and games run in 1080p, it's glorious! Been playing Sonic Adventure, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and Marvel Versus Capcom 2 all morning!
If you're looking for a good DC game to play, I highly recommend what is probably my all time favorite Dreamcast game, Zombie Revenge. It's Streets Of Rage with Zombies and it's made by the same people as House Of The Dead and takes place in the same universe. It's pure awesome sauce.
in xperia play (2.3.7) no loaded game (back to the menu)
My prayers have finally been answered!!
Guys, I consider the Sega Dreamcast the greatest system ever made, and the first true next gen! I still remember picking up one from my local gamestop and playing NBA 2K..The game impressed me so much, with the fluid gameplay and jaw-dropping graphics at the time, that I proceeded to pass out for about 30 minutes with the controller firmly in my hand! lol
Can someone please, please try any of the NBA 2k series and tell me if they work? I will be eternally grateful!!
It works on the Galaxy Note 2. I tested out Phantasy Star online. While everything appears to work...no ability to use memory card so I couldn't test gameplay. I'm guessing vmu or memory card functionality isn't in the emulator yet?

Boot bios first and setup vmu in it (delete all vmu data).

How to you select from the settings in the menu at the bottom of the screen? I click on them, but nothing happens? Also, all I get is a black screen & soundwhen playing NBA 2k1

It requires a dual-core A9 CPU. Xperia Play probably won't see any support.
uh, that's too bad for once I feel limited with the play.
I was really looking forward to run this on it
I have got xperia j monocore
This emulator found in monocore xperia j
Why not found in xperia play??
Possibly silly question, but did the folks that get this to work have the games in chd format? I have ISOs of several games but this is not recognizing it. I can boot to bios etc. but get no game loading options. Before I go through the work of conversion I wanted to verify if it was necessary.

Looks like there are some issues with 2.3, will investigate as soon as possible
