Just found these, the first one Galaxy Gladiator we can download, all three games are free. So if anyone wants me to get the other two let me know. Please be advised these are not xperia play optimized. I know this will disappoint many but I know there are others here who are big fans of schmups and as much I would love to see them optimized a schmup is still a schmup to me.

Barrage Ballad while not too hard, is nice, nice graphics, and some really good Japanese - centric tunes.
I see COLOPL, Inc's strategy is pay to play, with the store and real money playing a part in coins and powerups.
I just feel Android in general is lacking titles like Bug Princess 2, like frickin' iOS gets.
It needs more CAVE loving.

YES!!!! Cave where are you????
This is something what made me really angry some time ago because on ios they have a lot of cool shmups and on android there were maybe 3 or 4 of them. But meanwhile we get more and more great shmups.
Only Problem is, they are only in Portraitmode, i mean if those games were in Landscape i had no problem with XPO or not because of gamekeyboard.
Thanks for sharing, great looking games.
@cyraxx, I know what you mean. It feels like the only good landscape shooter outside of emulated psx games is Air Attack. There is that new Galaga reboot I posted, but the gameplay is so cramped in landscape I think thats why it wasn't released.

On the subject of shooters, I've just bought Advent Rush: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=game.advent&hl=en
Very nice graphics and sound, gameplay too(from what I can see so far)
and my mate has Battle Squadron ONE, an old amiga game, which has full Xperia Play support: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.copecom.bsone&hl=en
That has a tabletop mode, quite nice, it holds up well in this day and age.
And Magical Cannon Wars, not sure if it's donate version or free, bit it seems solid enough.
And Danmaku Death is a good free game too.
I used to get Market Enabler to work on my Xperia Play, but not lately, might have to try another version or two of it.
EDIT: Now had a chance to play BB Bear, it's ok, not as good as how cute it looks..it does remind me of Bug Princess, with all the insects, which in turn annoys me that CAVE haven't released BG2 or anthing similar to what iOS gets.baahhhhh

I installed that earlier, and oh dear, it does seem rather cramped..
I'd recommend Shogun, Battle Squadron One, Danmaku Death, R-Type, and Raiden Legacy. The Cave games seem to work well but I want to play the real thing before trying it on a mobile. Other than that, use an emulator and play in portrait mode holding the play sideways to emulate TATE like Raiden Legacy does. It feels awkward at first but once you get the hang of it you'll fall in love with the Play all over again. Also wanted to add that Radiant Flux wasn't half bad (PSM title).
More SCHMUPS!!!

Really like the game, to say it's an Osmos clone does not detract from the fact that it is very enjoyable. Really like the music in the game too, did you also create that, if so do you a link to other music that you've made, if not who made it and where can I hear more of similar.

This game is not an original idea. Lookup Osmos. It has been out for over a year now. It is on PC and iOS. I still think it is a great clone of the game and the author will make a killing if osmos isnt on android yet and still make a killing if it is more popular.
Good Game, simple yet fun

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I can't seem to get the game to install. It downloads from the market fine, but always fails the install step. Not even sure my phone will run it - I have a HTC Hero running a custom 2.2 ROM (Elelinux). Any thoughts? Am I wasting my time?

I'll admit, I was kind of praying for a 2D fighting game... but this was even more of a pleasant surprise! Just a couple days ago I was thinking about how badass it'd be if someone would bring Streets of Rage-style beat 'em ups back to life... but with RPG elements so that it doesn't get boring after one hour.
...and lookie what I ran into! The graphics are quite distorted through stretching, but the game runs nicely, and it works well with Xperia PLAY's physical controls (which is nice, because - as we could expect - the virtual gamepad is simply awful ).

Also have you played the new Zenonia 4? Its really awesome, I have a thread for it as well on this forum. Thank you for sharing the info on the game.

I didn't comment on the Zenonia 4 topic, but you guys should already know by now that an Xperia PLAYable RPG won't be released without me promptly getting my hands on it
As for how I find this stuff... most of the time I'm just hunting for general Android games that look like they'd be badass on Xperia PLAY, without specifically searching for Xperia PLAY games.
What helps me out is that a lot of games have generic compatibility with d-pads and the enter key (which I probably don't need to explain is X on Xperia PLAY) so while a game may not specifically be Xperia PLAY optimized, a lot of the times generic key compatibility means it'll work well enough to play.
So it's basically just trial and error.
About that... I found out Caligo Chaser is compatible with qwerty keyboards. One could just use game keyboard to set up physical controls, it's quite easy... But the onscreen controls just can't be disabled The onscreen controls can't be disabled on King Pirate as well - Caligo Chaser also seems cool. I mentioned those games because of this one, they seem quite alike. Which leads to the question... Can onscreen controls be disabled on this one? Your screenshots make it seem so.

Whooaa. So lemme get this straight, there IS a way to get Caligo Chaser working with Xperia PLAY's controls? It's kinda my favorite game from iOS and I've been hounding the dev team for about a year trying to get them to add in Xperia PLAY compatibility to no avail. I'm just sayin' I'd geek pretty hard over that.

Sadly no... matter of fact, the options don't allow you to do much at all :\
We could always try asking the devs. Got us Further Beyond Fighting and Castle of Shadows.
Yep, it could be done. I haven't tried it, but c'mon... A giant popup tutorial shows up telling you qwerty compatibility. Just write down the buttons and then map them using gamekeyboard the only flaw, as I've just said, is the non-removability of the onscreen controls :/ but yea, we have to ask the devs. At least about that

Description
PPSSPP, a PSP emulator prototype for Android.
PPSSPP is a prototype PSP* emulator for Android (and other platforms).
It's still in very early stages and does not run many games. It's provided here if you want to try it, so that you can automatically receive updates over time - over time this will probably become a usable emulator.
Please go to http://www.ppsspp.org for more information.
IMPORTANT: Please do not give bad reviews due to low compatibility. It takes time.
NOTE: No games are included with this download, you will have to dump your own PSP games and turn them into .ISO or .CSO files, or simply play free homebrew games, which are available online.
* PSP is a trademark of Sony, Inc.

For what is seen is quite low compatibility list yet.
It is seen that only light running games with few graphics.
Let's wait and see how this project progresses.
But very good start.
Developers luck and thanks for your great work.
Looking forward to this. I just want Need for Speed Underground Rivals. The best NFS game for me so far!! Played it for nearly the whole time my missus was in labour with my boy, 20+ hours!!!

I have had this game since I got my play way back in July of 2011. I do not know why Luma Arcade never released this game but it was pretty fun.
This is a racing game with some twisted metal / road rash type elements. As this apk is not listed anywhere I have decided to list it here.

EDIT - Just played it now, and I think all it is is just a race after a race... perhaps this was a tech demo to show off the Xperia PLAY and the Unity engine? Thats all I can think of... either way really nice graphics and sound. Triggers work well, and the touchpads work too.
Looks really nice!
Just found this on the Unity forums:
See post by DAN FURY, shows a video of this game, not very good video quality.
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/77...Confirmed-For-March-Verizon-Unity-As-Partners
Followed by the post right below DAN FURY's
"Three Union games are being exhibited on the show floor: Guerilla Bob by Angry Mob Studios, Luma Arcade’s Racer and Air Attack HD by Art in Games. All three have been optimised for Xperia Play using a dedicated API."
Intersting stuff reading up on this old XP stuff.......
So I just finished a race on this game and its pretty fun, definitely worth downloading. I laughed when I nitroused around a corner only to roll my car!! Not alot of games actually show that happening. This is definitely a tech demo, it has 2 cars and one track. Thanks for the game!

read this
http://www.droidgamers.com/index.ph...-core-all-slated-for-release-onto-google-play
I laughed when I read that part of the article. Its been "coming soon" since 2011. They are going by what the developers website says, and it hasn't been updated in years.
Droid Gamers is truly pathetic when it comes to any kind of research or journalistic effort. The only thing they do right is "find" new releases that were designed by people with enough marketing sense to send Droid Gamers a memo telling them about it. The staff not only has atrocious grammar but they often jump to the wrong conclusions in an effort to create news (a-la Huffington Post). On top of that, the idea that their staff has any real interest in gaming is naive at best given their constant mistakes especially regarding ports. For example: Ikaruga was noted as "the popular Xbox Live Arcade shooter". I can find at least three things that disgust me in every article they have ever written and if you want to test me on that then link away!

Hi guys,
I would like to show you my game "Scribble Racer"! It's a game developed for the Samsung Galaxy Note series. It’s best to play it with an ‘S Pen’, but it can also be played with the finger on other Android devices.

The goal of the game is to keep the pen (or the finger) on a track which is scrolling down faster and faster as long as you can. Collect fruits, candies and stars for some extra points (stars act as point multipliers).
The game won the 3rd prize at the Samsung Smart App Challenge 2012 and was selected as one of the Top 5 S-Pen Apps by Android Authority.
Game is available on Google Play for FREE.

There's a facebook fanpage available now: http://www.facebook.com/ScribbleRacer
Would be cool if you could help me to spread the game by getting a fan :good:
nice graphics, but need more frames per second
I liked the idea and the reviews were moderate, so I downloaded the app. Works great with the finger, by the way. After about half an hour I found myself uninstalling it out of boredom.
Maybe implement a level system with different themes to flavour it up a little overall, it's alright I guess.

On hard difficulty, have it gradually increase the speed because it is hard to start off with the first curve, I lose almost instantly
I'll let u know when I think of anything else, thanks for the game
Really good game, tried it last night. Harder than one would imagine, that's a good thing!
I did try it. A good game with nice graphics.

Thanks, I think I will remove the "S Pen" soon. But I'm not sure yet. On the one hand the "S Pen" in the title helps to be found by people who search for "s pen games" for example and on the other you'r right, it might scares people.
Currently I have the impression that the difficulties are choosen quite good. I tried a lot of different settings. Now almost everyone can play the easy mode straightaway and everyone fails at least the first time in hard mode - it should be hard
Thanks all for your feedback!

The apk can be downloaded here (Version 1.2.3): http://www.wolfgang-knecht.com/downloads/Scribble Racer.apk
Have fun!
Sounds fun, but I wonder how well it will run on my X10 which has horrible touchscreen panel.
Tracks meed to be more randomized. Got bored because it's the same pattern track over and over. Gets easy to memorize.
Other than that, the game has a great concept. Can't wait to see more.
Nice idea
Really nice idea. I like it.
