software to control the notification LED - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone !
Before getting my Ascend Mate 7, i was using a Nexus phone.
And in Cyanogen ROM, there is the ability to fully control the notification LED, for every application with specific color, speed...
Is there a software that can give me the ability to define each color and speed of the RGB LED, for each application ?
Thanks in advance everyone

That cannot be customized in the default setting. A little disappointed.

Ok.... Maybe later

There is a software that is working; it is "Led Blinker Pro" (the pay version).
Just installed it, and it is working !

Pinch to Zoom Homescreen/LED Ringers

I'm wondering if there will ever be Pinch to zoom on the homescreen like the Desire Roms have and also i'm running Cyanogen 5.0.5 and i use ringo pro which has customized LED colors/notification, but they don't really work with the messages notifications....ANY HELP??
lilhermit is releasing Trackball alert which will have the ability to change any notification colour LED once a CM compatable version is released
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645690
Well I do think it's possible to get the pinch-to-zoom effect on the home screens, it's all about someone developing it and that is probably some coding behind.

The N1 trackball drivers only allow the Attention Light (the one that flashes for incoming calls) to flash white or blue. Outside of that, it's very possible that the developer of Ringo Pro is not handling things properly.

This will also have trouble changing the Incoming call flash. The drivers will need to be tweaked for that to happen.
If we were able to have pinch to zoom on the nexus builds that would complete that build in my opinion, i would actually pay for that.

Actually, I wrote the driver that allows for full color trackball notifications. Then Google supplanted mine with their own. There are several 'Logical Lights' These are the lights that the android system tells to light up and it's up to the hardware to determine what to do with these requests. On the N1, the notification, attention, and breathing light are all mapped to the trackball. The notification light (the one that the notification manager uses to display texts/email/missed calls) is passed to the trackball with full color, but the attention light (the one that the phone flashes when it's ringing) is only mapped to show white or blue. White is flashed for most calls and blue is flashed when the phone is paired to bluetooth and the phone is ringing. The breathing light is pulsed when notification manager puts something in the notification bar and the screen is on. It's actuallly mapped to the attention light, so it is also limited to white and blue.
+1 for Chainsdd and all his work!!!

Well the Ringo Pro app has the ability to change the color of the trackball for each individual contact which works fine until the screen is off. It worked well with the previous cyanogen mod (5.0.4.1). when i upgraded its like there is no priority sensor which allows it to completely control the phone vs the new built in led trackball notification alerts. and when i disable sms alerts the color for ringo pro just stop.
It's only a matter of time...

LED notifications

Anybody tried LightFlow or any other apps to control the notification LED?

They work if that's what you're asking. Light Flow and Light Manager are the two I tested. Definitely prefer LF of the two.
Light manager seems to work for sms but not email. Always on also does not show email notifications. Arg!

LightFlow is not working for me. Did you enable the LED in the display settings and did you enable or disable the workaround for Samsung?
I have been emailing the dev for light manager. in order to get it to work, you need to turn on the 5.1 workaround in the apps settings and you have to let it wake the screen for notifications. then the led colors work correctly. one thing that does break is you can not longer expand the gmail notifications in the notification pull down shade. he said he doesn't have an S7 yet to test on but is getting one.
LED Blinker Work correctly
I didn't install light manager yet. I'm just using signal for SMS and changing color of LED in its settings. inbox is blue and I guess missed calls would be the same blue default. Works for now. Also charging is red by default and green I think when charged...
LED Blinker Work
my g930f led notification does not work properly. i have no white its kinda pink ish and yellow is a orange with green??? does anyone else have this problem? i have tested it with Light Flow, Light Manager, Blinker and Led Tester
i had nothing like this with my s5
does anyone know what to do with this?
I just want to disable led while charging any option in phone without an app

Yes LED Blinker works. I have tested under S7. And many customers told me, too.
Just enable workaround 5.1.1 in app settings (its needed for Android 6, too sadly).

Same here. (With Light Manager) So it seems to be a hardware/model related issue.

Needed screen on for me too (for Gmail at least, some apps worked okay - Handcent/Whatsapp). Which I didn't really want to use but it's better than nothing at this stage.
Ah, sorry, it's Light Manager I used - I was trying a few and got confused!
Ok then what now? Do we return it to samsung and ask for a good one or just live with it??

LED Blinker works, but has the same problem that all of the other LED notification programs have....The Gmail notification icon in the status bar will not auto clear after reading email. It must be cleared manually. Light Manager does the same thing, and according to the developer, it is an issue with Android 6.0

you have to disable the light/led in all apps you use, gmail doesnt have such option, use google inbox instead.

LEDs?

I'm considering a Mate 9, or 9 Pro. One question I have: does it have an LED, and support multiple colors?
I use Lightflow for my notifications. Different color and/or flash rate for notifications.

Currently using Light Flow on my Mate 9. It works excellent for Huawei devices. However, since this is above Android 6.0 (being 7.0), you will need to install Light Flow Legacy if you don't want the annoying persistent icon to stay in the status bar/notification try. Light Flow Pro is what I had, but switched to Legacy (based on their recommendation within the app), and the persistent icon is gone/not needed. Everything functions great.
So far the colors I've tested that work on this LED - red, blue, cyan, yellow, white, and pink - going in between changes the color slightly or it will make the LED show nothing if it's not found in Huawei's LED hardware color range. Huawei devices are known for that. You'll have to play around with settings, but Fastest and Always On work wonderfully without error. You know how it works, so test it out to your liking.
The LED is really dim.
Hey, I tested some leds within the app but leds are not working when I recieve notifications. For example, led is set to red when charging but when I charge my phone, led is orange as a default huawei led. How to fix this?

Make sure PULSE LED is on within Huawei's main settings. Remove the charging settings - they don't work - you're better off with the stock ones. Keep everything else as FASTEST or ALWAYS ON (in my testing, they were the most consistent because Huawei decided to not implement the faster/brighter Nexus 6P LED so it fades in and out because of the stock PULSE LED. As I said before, make sure you test the colors because the LED spectrum goes from yellow-red-pink-purple-blue-cyan-green (any variation in there just relates to brightness).

You can hide app notifications under permissions, I do that for a few that have that persistent presence and they still work.

No, that only removes it from the status bar. Because it's a "persistent notification," it pops up and remains in the notification pull down when it becomes activated with every message, email, etc. This takes up space and is rather annoying. Thus, I recommended the legacy path which works 100% correctly .
Hmm, I swear when I used it before turning off notifications took care of that.

Light Flow and Honor6x (led notification manager)

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone has managed how to gain control of the led notification.
I know it's not very bright or useful, but I kinda like to give the phone a glance and see if the led is on and what colour...
I'm trying setting up "Light flow" (with root access of course), but it doesn't work properly. Sometimes it work but most of the times it seems just "not triggered" by the app or "not giving a ****" about the colour I chose (and I went for colors I know they exists).
So if someone could show me the way to control the led... Light Flow or another app...
Maybe custom roms are the way?
don't know, thank you!

[APP]AMOLED Notification Light "NotifyBuddy"

Original Thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/app-amoled-notification-light-t3943715
So I was annoyed not having an LED notification light on oneplus 6t so I tried to make one of my own.
As OP6T has amoled display whenever a desired notification comes the app brings in a black screen with notification LED looking animation.
Though this is tested on OP6T, it should be working for most Android Oreo and later phones.
To use it:
Install App.
Disable Ambient Display and any battery optimisation for the app.
Give notification access permission.
Select apps you want notifications for, by choosing a color (Only apps you set a color to enables LEDs).
Note: 1. On successfully selecting a color for an app the text in which the App name is written should change to that color
2. Don't enable the LED for the "Phone App" as it will interfere when an incoming call is coming! Will fix this in next build
Thats it.
Note: To turn off the LED and to unlock phone double tap anywhere on the screen.
Also on pressing power button once the LED stops and on pressing it again it will bring you to lock screen.
App now available on Play Store, please rate and share if you liked the app.
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xander.android.notifybuddy
Working Video: https://youtu.be/vFKiHS_ZD-k
If the app is not working check whether the Notification Service is running under Developer Option > Running Services, this service is required for the app to work as intended.
If it is not running after various troubleshoot measures, maybe send the logs.
Changelog:
Implemented burn in protection
Fixed proximity sensor bug
Switch enables LED with default color
Added search functionality
Now App list is sorted in alphabetical order
Fixed power button
Added settings for changing time interval and stop timer
Major bug fixes
Added System Apps
Added a switch to turn on/off notification LED
Give your feedback!!
It would be cooller if it would use the edge lighting.
Great app, love the simplicity.
Is there any way to show the notification first (like stock configuration) and then show the flashing "LED" after a few seconds?
Nice app. Been using since release when I saw it on the OnePlus 6t forum. Only issue is when you dismiss the notification (double tap) , screen goes into full brightness first before dimming down. At night, it's hard on the eyes. Hope you can fix it (add auto brightness support so it follows the screens brightness after unlock). Cheers mate and keep up the good work.
Good to see your thread here for OnePlus 7 Pro! Cheers
working thx ?
cut u get it to work wiht eged light??
Nice! It working good!
"Is there any way to show the notification first (like stock configuration) and then show the flashing "LED" after a few seconds?"..also my question..
Sometimes the LED flashes even if there is no notification
This is AWESOME!!! Could you make it so that
1: It doesn't flash the white bar across the bottom first
2: not go full brightness?
Thanks
This is an awesome app. Would be amazing if you can use it with the edge lighting.
Brilliant, thank you. Gome through countless apks trying to get a notification led. Thanks
Oh, one more thing, would it be possible to add an on/off switch so you can easily turn it off if you don't want to use it?

i'm talking about the app ALWAYS ON EDGE in the play store, which is the app i recommended because the poster i quoted asked for that function. so yes, the app always on edge in the play store will do what you want as well. it has a ton of options in the settings.
i also used this one notifybuddy
but went back to picel pulse untill this one support missed call's
pixel pulse works with orginal notification system
