Pinch to Zoom Homescreen/LED Ringers - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I'm wondering if there will ever be Pinch to zoom on the homescreen like the Desire Roms have and also i'm running Cyanogen 5.0.5 and i use ringo pro which has customized LED colors/notification, but they don't really work with the messages notifications....ANY HELP??

lilhermit is releasing Trackball alert which will have the ability to change any notification colour LED once a CM compatable version is released
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645690

Well I do think it's possible to get the pinch-to-zoom effect on the home screens, it's all about someone developing it and that is probably some coding behind.

The N1 trackball drivers only allow the Attention Light (the one that flashes for incoming calls) to flash white or blue. Outside of that, it's very possible that the developer of Ringo Pro is not handling things properly.

This will also have trouble changing the Incoming call flash. The drivers will need to be tweaked for that to happen.

If we were able to have pinch to zoom on the nexus builds that would complete that build in my opinion, i would actually pay for that.

Actually, I wrote the driver that allows for full color trackball notifications. Then Google supplanted mine with their own. There are several 'Logical Lights' These are the lights that the android system tells to light up and it's up to the hardware to determine what to do with these requests. On the N1, the notification, attention, and breathing light are all mapped to the trackball. The notification light (the one that the notification manager uses to display texts/email/missed calls) is passed to the trackball with full color, but the attention light (the one that the phone flashes when it's ringing) is only mapped to show white or blue. White is flashed for most calls and blue is flashed when the phone is paired to bluetooth and the phone is ringing. The breathing light is pulsed when notification manager puts something in the notification bar and the screen is on. It's actuallly mapped to the attention light, so it is also limited to white and blue.

+1 for Chainsdd and all his work!!!

Well the Ringo Pro app has the ability to change the color of the trackball for each individual contact which works fine until the screen is off. It worked well with the previous cyanogen mod (5.0.4.1). when i upgraded its like there is no priority sensor which allows it to completely control the phone vs the new built in led trackball notification alerts. and when i disable sms alerts the color for ringo pro just stop.

It's only a matter of time...

Solution for the missing blinking leds (e.g. bluetooth and critical battery)?

Hallo guys,
As former user of the hermes I am now missing the leds, that inform me about the activated bluetooth-status or the critical battery. I wondered if there is a possibility to programm the white leds of the hardware-buttons for that.
Could this be possible or can you imagine another solution for that ?
Thanks
juwenio
Long time ago I saw somwhere that the LED ring could be lit in different colors. Was that an imagination, removed feature, press release error or what? I havent seen any other colors than white on my LED ring.
Yes, i miss those leds too...
There are other threads like this one, about others complaining:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426333
I miss the blue light as well. Do you think it is possible to have the phone hang-up/back button light up when Bluetooth is enabled? But it would be better if the control pad could change color.

What are the chances of a LED notification?

It looks like the touch surface at the bottom of the device has slight translucent look about it. Might it serve as a notification LED as well?
I think the chances are good. I noticed that as well.
Also, in the video over on android central of the g4 rom running on the nexus, he mentions led notifications built into the rom. I'm not sure if he mean built into the hacked rom or the standard rom.
Hopefully there is

Problem is that development will now have to corporate that in to the roms
I can confirm that there is LED notification located just to the left of the ambient light sensor. There is also a Notification flash setting under the display settings. Flash LED light notifications optinos include: Missed call, SMS/MMS, Email, Voicemail, Reminders, and Alarms. Of course it is also used as a charging notification.

There are multiple color options. I do not know which colors are for what but I do know that emails are green.
Great now I have to decide... HD7, or myTouch 4g?
I'm kinda scared to shift to a new OS, just because it is so new that I have no idea if it will adjust well with how I use a device, however... if I get the 4g it will take forever for official updates to come to the device...
So hard... I guess I will have to try both devices at the T-Mobile store.

Definitively android. wp7 will be a flop.
I too can confirm. youtube wirefly's channel. they got a unboxing AND a small review. (the review has the notification light blinking)
Can anyone who has actually used the phone confirm that there's an LED for notifications and that it's functional? Thanks.

Are you all talking about the notification light at the top that turns on as orange for charging and blinks green for emails? If not I have no idea where this is located :/

[Q] Settings for Notification LED?

This is my first motorola phone in a longg time, so apologies if this is some well known thing.
Is there a way to change the settings for the LED?
I like that FB is blue and my texts are Green, but then my emails seem to also be Green... Would rather Gmail be red or something.
Thanks!

Where are the controls to turn on these light notifications (for received text, for example)? I didn't know the default settings used the notification light at all. If I had, I might not have gone looking for an app
To answer your question, there is an app called 'Light Flow' that allows you to customize the notification LED for different events. You can change things like colors and flashing speed for different app notifications (text, gmail, calendar notification, missed calls, low battery, etc) and also add other apps so that their notifications can trigger the LED.
There is a 'Lite' version of the app that is fully functional so you can try it out. I just started using it but I really like it so far.
No idea, mine were on by default haha.
But thanks! I'll go check out the app.
I don't think there is a way to control the LED without a 3rd party app.

Lightflow is awesome!
I now have my led turn orange when charging and green when charged! How did Moto forget something so basic?
Hi:
Thanks to Vector for pointing out Light Flow. Between the mysterious, single, unread text message imported from my old phone and all of the emails sent out by groupon et all in the middle of the night, the green light was flashing all night.Thankfully, Light Flow has a sleep mode that turns the light off at night.
I was ready to return the phone as it was keeping me up. Really appreciated!

Is Notification LED Supposed to Light with Hangouts SMS?

I have been receiving plenty of texts, but I don't see the notification LED coming on. I downloaded LightFlow and the test works, so it definitely isn't a hardware issue with the LED. I also have "Enable Notification Light" checked in Display settings. Am I missing something else?
Try led manager. Works great for me plus you can add apps with different colors.

@mrro82 it would be nice to see a color for a hangout vs a color for SMS/MMS.

I believe what he was saying is that it would be nice to see a separate color for each one. i.e. say blue if he receives a SMS/MMS, and green if someone tries to get a hold of him through Google Hangout.
As for the LED with text messages... it works for me, but i will say that there's a BIG gap between blinks. Maybe you're just used to seeing a more rapid blink than what is set up by default on the N5?

Since sms and mms are combined with hangouts, Idk if they can be separate colors. Or regular hangout messages for that matter. The blink rate is about the same as it was on my S4.

There is currently an issue with Light Flow so that if you have "always on" setting for any LED notification it can mess up the other notification light settings (specifically hangouts).
An update should be out soon, according to the dev. For the time being, disable any notification you have set to "always on" and make it blinking or something (or off).
Off the train of thought here, but Google Voice uses a green notification light by default.. Not sure what makes it different except maybe the app is never updated.

You're right. I would like to see two (three is a stretch) different light colors available within Hangouts for hangouts, SMS and MMS. That said (and completely unrelated) Hangouts is a bit crowded with everything in there. I'd like to see a filter or a swipe to see only Hangouts OR SMS/MMS, almost separate inboxes. If this concept went live, I'm willing to bet they could be recognized as separate notifications and therefore different colors. I'm actually playing with my GNex/4.4 with the MMS.apk from 4.3 AOSP to determine how I will setup my N5.
Not working for me as well
Update. It does work for hangouts. You just have to wait a bit for the LED to light up. Don't know how long exactly, but certainly more than 10 seconds.
I seem to have the same problem as the OP. LED works for emails, but not for hangouts. I'd rather not have an extra app running and don't really mind the white LED. Curious to know what might be causing the issue.
I didn't have LED notification for Hangout SMS too. I used Xblast Tools (Xposed module, needs root) to set it up. Works great now.

[REQ] Multiple Notifications Using Notification Light

I have an idea for a useful app/mod/xposed module that would allow the notification light to indicate notifications from multiple apps at the same time. For instance: I have a text message, which normally flashes white(ish), and then I get an email, which normally flashes red. With both notifications being present at the same time, instead of the light only flashing the color of the most recent notification (red in this case), it would flash white once, then red once, pause, then white, red, pause, etc. Three notifications would flash a sequence of the three respective colors.
Being able to customize the colors and timing per app is not necessarily important to me, but probably wouldn't be difficult at the already required level of control anyway, and I'm sure several people appreciate that option with current mods.
TL;DR
App/mod to make notification LED blink all active notifications instead of just most recent.
So, what do you all think?
If I had the programming knowledge and time, I would certainly write this myself and share, but I do not
There is such a xposed modul or even app I had something like that and I had other colours for apps for egz Facebook had blue light SMS got orange and Gmail got red and if I recive Gmail and SMS my led was blinking orange and red so there is nothing new you can search for this
