So ever since Lollipop was announced I was getting excited for the Slimrom update I totally expected it to be called SlimPop. As I now know that isn't the case. Not that SlimLP sounds bad, it's actually starting to grow on me, although I still prefer SlimPop.
But I was wondering what everyone else thinks... Do you prefer SlimLP or SlimPop?
SlimLP reminds me of Slim Shady LP. Just saying. I prefer SlimPOP btw.
I prefer SlimPop too.
Also it follow the naming scheme of SlimKat (instead of SlimKK).
Or LolliSlim... lmao, but yeah SlimPOP seemed like that would have been obvious.
SlimLP sounds like the name of an Eminem album.
Edit: Didn't see gitanshu had the same thought as I did, obviously i'm not the only one to think this
Slimpop seems easy to pronounce. So Slimpop it is for me!
Well I have not tried SlimPOP as of yet but SlimLP alpha 4 is running really good and smooth. Very fast with all-f2fs and m-kernel a73...
Oh and just kidding about the first part lol

SlimPop is the best name, for me.
SlimBean -> SlimKat -> SlimLP???
I like SlimPop more.
SlimPop represent.
It is unfortunate that SlimLP is what the devs have chosen against a lot of support here and on G+. The only argument from the other side that I have heard is that it translates to something inappropriate in some language or another.
If we really want it changed that bad, we should modify and build it ourselves!
SlimPop sounds way better than SlimLP. Pro SlimPop!
SlimPop
I just recently got into custom roms and discovered SlimRoms.
Then I caught on with the naming conventions (SlimBean, SimKat).
When I wanted to see if the Lollipop version was out the first thing I googled was SlimPop.
Definitely prefer SlimPop. Just makes more sense.
They were probably forced to use SlimLP!

There already exists a pop corn brand by that name - http://slimpop.com/
So I guess SlimROM was forced to go with SlimLP instead
Who cares abt the name anyway! "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
The real SlimLP please stand up, please stand up!! #KeepItSlimBaby

I've never understood the MIUI styling. Why anybody would want to make their phone look like an iPhone is beyond comprehension to me.
I could not entertain the thought.

Stop comparing MIUI to iOS just because it has all the app on the launcher, MIUI is more than that..

stop judging and try it, see for yourself.. if you dont like use something else, dont ***** at the people that do use it lol

You guys just sit down and relax, i'm totally sure One S will have official support, because almost every above par HTC has it!
I hope we do. but miui tends to keep a lot of older devices and add the newer one later.
but we have a good head start with the unofficial rom, hope they are aware of that.
I find it hilarious and embarrassing how many phones were added to that list more than once...

I will be updating my ROM every week, just like China. It would be done already today, but there was a delay in China. The other thing to realize is if it does go official, it will be based off sense, so the file size will be at least double of what my port is.

A bit confused.. Why would they base it off of Sense? Haven't all other versions been AOSP/CM based?

That's the way MIUI has been doing all their official v4 releases. It's called patchrom. By doing it that way, they don't have to really on there being a developed aosp base, which can help the roms be released sooner. Downside is the zips are like double the size, and it's not an aosp ROM anymore

About as much chance as there is of CM, AOKP or Paranoid Android supporting the I9500. Which is to say little to none, or at least in anything approaching a stable fashion and in the near future.
And isn't this BMarko's build off this very forum? If so you should link it on the opening post.

Didn't know how it was pronounced. I usually just pronounce it as "My UI" or I actually spell out the letters "M I U I". "My UI" sounds logical because you are able to customize it however you like so it can be your UI.

You will lose all the gimmicky features of touchwiz and the UI of course. That's about it though. You will gain custom abilities! The camera and gps work fine. If you flash it right you will get really good performance and battery life. I actually believe it was snappier and it had better data connection than stock touchwiz .

As of a few hours ago I shattered the screen on my beloved Mi2, for the second time, yet again resulting in an inoperable screen. I've decided to end terms with it, as much as I love it, but my contract is nearing end and I am considering getting an S4 recontracted tomorrow.
Have been looking up reviews and everything all night, especially for MIUI on an S4, as I've become ever so hooked with it on my Mi2.
How's the ROM going for you on that device? I noticed how unresponsive TouchWiz on the S4 was which really bestowed me, but seeing the CM videos and MIUI being run on this device, I'm feeling it!
edit: Backed up many theme settings such as iPhone font and emoji keyboard does the graphical emoji show on this ported MIUI, or is it the plain black/white variant made by Android?

CyanogenMod Team Teases “Nemesis” With Video, But What’s Nemesis?
"Over the weekend, the CyanogenMod team took to their YouTube, hypebeasting a mysterious something called Nemesis. What could it be? The video is not clear, but it starts with the words, “Something wicked this way comes. Nothing can be perfect. Things can be better.”
The words “FREE” flash on an Android device’s lockscreen, but seriously, there is no telling of what this may be. Watch the video and then let’s start brainstorming what could be around the corner from CM."
Droid Life Article (above)
Android Police Article
http://www.cyngn.com is now live with code hinting at an August 19, 2013 release.
Some are suggesting it will be a release of a pure CyanogenMod running phone. Other ideas are a new launcher, division from google, a security based build of CM, and CM on iPhone. They all seem pretty outlandish to me but...
What do you all think Cyanogen is up to?
Its gotta be something huge. They went from being the best and favorite, to now perhaps simply the most widely known and recognized, but no longer the best and no longer the favorite. They need something huge.

I've never run Slim Rom, since it hasn't been available for either of my devices until like last week. But now I have a lot of roms to choose from and I tried Carbon and I'm pretty sure Carbon has cured my flashing addiction. Suuuuch a solid customizable rom. Better than Jellybam.
But yeah. CM needs to do something different. I don't know what's feasible for them to do but still radically different enough of a change. Perhaps a pc OS?
I can't see them breaking away from Android. Too many problems with doing that.
I could perhaps see Nemesis being a much more integrating software, which does even more than Google Plus. Perhaps. I don't know.

Ha anyone noticed the word "FREE" on the bottom of the lock screen in the teaser?
I assume they're not gonna release their own device, and a new ROM is not enough of a reason for all of this hype.
But a "free" something... Now that might be a cause for a celebration...

Rats. So we're back to square one.
xplodwild did some rumor break about Nemesis. So far, it's not CM on another OS (like firefox os), not a CM device. And the device that appear in the video is the Nexus 4.

I flashed just about everything and settled on stock. cm11, purity ROM, sanity, slim, you name it. Stock with xposed is great. On any custom ROM, I lost LTE and still don't know why. Gravitybox is just about the same as running a custom ROM, too.

I dont see much of a point in owning a nexus if you are just gonna throw Cyanogenmod on it.

I would probably stick with stock if I didn't require voice+ app by cyanogenmod. Until hangouts come with full Google voice number support sticking with CM11.
CM11 really isn't that buggy with current nightly, it's incredibly stable. Also the fact that it's a continuous work in progress is plus. You never know when stock gets updates.
Other than that I would use paranoid android when that comes out or pacman.

Or like any other Android phone. Almost every major Android phone has Cyanogenmod ported to it. I don't personally understand the appeal of buying a Nexus phone to then throw on the same custom rom that you could run on literally any other Android phone. I guess if you are off contract and absolutely love Cyanogenmod for some insane reason. . . . .
As said on a non nexus the cyanogen team really shine, to be honest I'm loving cataclysm ROM at the minute. Close to stock but has just enough customisations for me

You're talking about 2-3 days here. If that worried about it, go back to stock until CM updates. That's what I did for 4.4.3. I was already in bootloader flashing the new modem, so figured I'd just flash the rest.

I'm just curious, I don't see a lot of people really using the CM11 Roms here as much as I used to in the past devices that I've had.
Is there something I'm not seeing that others see?
What's your thoughts on the Snapshot releases on the Nexus?
I used to use cyanogenmod because it was so clean and had lots of options, but the last time i used it on my nexus 4 i saw it changed alot, looks more like an own os. I like roms like ParanoidAndroid, not bloated, very clean.

I actually like PA myself, used to use it alot as well, but there isnt much optimization in regards to customizing. I don't like using Xposed personally, so thats out of the question. I also like the themes.
I dont mind so much that it has slowly become its own OS, I just decided to give it a run today and I enjoy it for the 2 hours I've had it, but I guess I'm prepping myself incase I do like the OnePlus One.
