About as much chance as there is of CM, AOKP or Paranoid Android supporting the I9500. Which is to say little to none, or at least in anything approaching a stable fashion and in the near future.
And isn't this BMarko's build off this very forum? If so you should link it on the opening post.

I'm not sure if it supports the I9500. This is on my T-Mobile variant. Yes, that is the rom and I will contact him with the link! Thanks for feedback!

Like a said in my post, it definitely does not support the I9500.

Why do you pronounce MIUI so weirdly? MIUI is pronounced "Me You I", not "Em I You I" and certainly not "My You I"

Because Americans seem to pronounce MI the same way they pronounce MY.

Didn't know how it was pronounced. I usually just pronounce it as "My UI" or I actually spell out the letters "M I U I". "My UI" sounds logical because you are able to customize it however you like so it can be your UI.

what features will I lose installing this rom?
I truely hate the samsung UI (the black and ugly green), but I like the camera app and the gps..

I updated the OP with a CM10.1 video as well. Check it out!

You will lose all the gimmicky features of touchwiz and the UI of course. That's about it though. You will gain custom abilities! The camera and gps work fine. If you flash it right you will get really good performance and battery life. I actually believe it was snappier and it had better data connection than stock touchwiz .

What's so special about a cm10 on the s4? Flashed a dozen and aokp's.

People who are new to rooting sometimes don't even know what it is. Its always nice to help people out and give them alternate options besides touchwiz.

As of a few hours ago I shattered the screen on my beloved Mi2, for the second time, yet again resulting in an inoperable screen. I've decided to end terms with it, as much as I love it, but my contract is nearing end and I am considering getting an S4 recontracted tomorrow.
Have been looking up reviews and everything all night, especially for MIUI on an S4, as I've become ever so hooked with it on my Mi2.
How's the ROM going for you on that device? I noticed how unresponsive TouchWiz on the S4 was which really bestowed me, but seeing the CM videos and MIUI being run on this device, I'm feeling it!
edit: Backed up many theme settings such as iPhone font and emoji keyboard does the graphical emoji show on this ported MIUI, or is it the plain black/white variant made by Android?

I also replied to your comment on YouTube but it does run very nice on the S4. There are no serious bugs at all that I've encountered. I switch between MIUI V5 and CM10.1. For reviewing purposes I will be reviewing other ROMS.

Updated the OP with a quick case review! I know its not a rom but it is a really nice case that you should check out! I have a ROM review on the way though!

Touchwiz 4.0 on Captivate?

With the Galaxy S2 and the brand new Touchwiz 4.0 interface coming out, do you think we'll see a port for our captivates, or for that matter, any of the previous generation Galaxy S models?
Depends on what the demand is for it. And if it is better. As most of us hate it now lol.
I'm sure someone will give it a try but whats the difference? I have not seen TW4.0 yet
There are many changes in design cues. More rectangular widgets, dots on the top moved to the bottom, etc.
I love CheeseWiz, I may try it.
Would porting an s2 rom even be possible? It's for sale for about a grand in europe, so I don't know if we'll see a system dump anytime soon with prices like that

I'd be willing to try it, just to try something new and to see if it is cool at all. I mean, it's not like I don't already have TWLauncher_3.0 Frozen w/ TiBu and I'm running GO Launcher.
I mean, it looks awesome, but it is samsung.....
They make some awesome things, but then if there is a problem, it'll never get fixed, even after working on an update for infinity years....

Just google Touchwiz 4.0 and watch some of the videos of it.
It looks from the videos I've been watching to be much better than CheeseWhiz 3. I'm sure that there's still plenty of room for improvement though. Wish we had a solid release date on the AT&T-compatible International model.

MIUI looks kewl but guess its a personal choice.
I would like to stick to Continuum or Cognition before we have a stable 2.3+ Rom for the Cappy. ADW launcher or launcher pro do the looks for me.

miui is cool if you spend time setting it up but the lack of an app drawer bothers me. i like things hidded, with miui i have to mess with folders which is annoying for a cronic rom flasher. i have slowed doen on the rom flashing because i am tired of the whole proceedure of making thing perfect.

Farewell, i9003 forum

Hi there! Most of you probably don't know me, as I'm not a developer/contributor, nor someone who writes a lot.
I just wanted to thank you for these two years full of new roms, themes and kernels, wich made me busy for hours, but then made my life easier. Why am I saying this? Because tomorrow will come my new device, and I won't be using my Galaxy SCL as my main device anymore (gonna leave it on the bench, just in case hehe).
I wish you all the best, and maybe in the near future some of us will be sharing devices again (that would be great)!
So this shouldn't be a GoodBye, but a See You Next Time!
Cheers!

I'm on it right now - it is bloody blazing fast for sure. I missed the PIE controls but just ended up using LMT on it so PSX is my new rom now
Only thing thats REALLY irritating me is that I cant download any large apps using play store. It goes till 100% on many downloads then just never finishes and crashes. Tried multiple times reinstalling even 3 different roms but all based on JSS. I think JSS is the prob

If the rom is that good, I'll try it out too haha!
Gonna give you feedback! Thanks for the advice
Well, after a few days trying it, I reverted to CM10.2! It's true PSX rom is faster than any other rom I installed, but it lacks things.
As I'm still amazed by the speed nexus 4 opens everything in stock rom, I prefer relaying on a rom which I know would do the thigs I want
Anyway, it's a GREAT rom!
Thanks for the advice, pal, cheers!

Yeah that is true, modification is pretty limited, even with Xposed Framework.
Is it just me or is there a real lack of different roms on the N4? Like on SL we have so many like S4 Rom, themed customized roms etc that look different from AOSP 4.3. All I see on Nexus 4 forums are AOSP based this and AOSP based that :/, theres like no themed roms, and this one cool transparent rom that was on 4.2 isnt going to be updated to 4.3 so I dunno. If you come across some cool roms for n4 give me a message

An idea for a new type of rom

So i have been looking for custom roms on many different websites, but there isn't one that i would say "this is the one" rom.
I have been think for what kind of rom i want for my GT-I9500, and here are some ideas that i came up with.
1) I have the google nexus 4 as well and the screen color on it looks amazing. Every time i switch on the phone, it just makes me want to look at the phone long. So maybe a rom that can make the screen color on the s4 better looking. (i don't know how to describe it)
2) I kinda like some of the samsung features like the multi window, quick glance, air browse, air move, air call accept, the palm motions, s beam.
3) On my nexus 4 i flashed the PAC-man rom, and i like it too.
4) I saw that some people can finish entering their pin and unlock the screen like the iphone without clicking ok/enter.
So maybe some developers can combine all these features and make a new rom, so for the people who doesn't want to get ride of all the samsung features and have many good features from the other roms.
If there is some kind of rom is like that already, can someone tell me the link? Thank you ~
Why is there a double post? Ooooo deja vu here lol

what do u mean
So you're all just gonna be ***** and make stupid comments?
Give the guy a break.
I think many of us here on XDA feel that combing AOSP with Samsung features would make a very cool ROM, however most of those features are Samsung proprietary features, so unfortunately it won't happen
Good idea but sadly there will always be a line between AOSP and Touchwiz.
However DSA came very close with his BlackBox ROM, it's Touchwiz but has a AOSP look and a few cool features.

[feature] real multitasking with multiwindow possible?

so i did go and do own build with multiwindow picked, and i was not too surprised to see when i tap other of the opened apps the other one pauses itself.(YES i know multiwindow is still not completely finished) but my question is are you planning to do it furher so i could for example. watch video on other half of my screen and use browser on the other half without interrupting video playback.

Actually its allready working quite good was able to run antutu benchmark while browsing xda on other half of the screenscreen which proofs both Windows were active and no interrupts happened.
HI,
@op : Its very good that you maintained the features what other users want but can u try and sync up with @XpLoDWilD and keep a track with what all features are currently used in the ROM so that we can know what all features and updates we are getting with each build.
I searched a lot but I couldn't find and thing like changelog,I know we can have a look at github commits but I am talking through a layman perspective. :good:
Thanks a lot for this beautifull ROM :good:
I hope you'll keep this feature !! This one of most important reasons why i'll try your AOSP rom ! You're the only guy to have this feature on AOSP rom of Note 2 !
Thanks !

I too would love a more comprehensive current list of features, just so I know what is and isnt there. And I am VERY excited about getting multiwindow eventually, that held me to JediX until last week, when I came to the dark side...
Apologies if this is a daft post, but is this feature available? A Google search shows it running on nexus 4 omni 4.3 but I can't see anything about 4.4

[Poll][Discussion] MIUI

Hello fellow XDAers,
I am waiting for MIUI 9 to drop so we can pull that into the kitchen and cook. I am going to attempt to work with the new system, I haven't ported anything after Jellybean. So with that, I wanted to see who was on-board to potentially want to try MIUI.
Two things; One - I am not saying I am for sure going to be successful, but I will try. 2; MIUI 9 release date is expected to be end of May or early June 2017.
Feel free to have a discussion of MIUI here, I will also use this thread for small updates in regards to MIUI.
--- Small Post Update ---
MIUI 9 ?
Here is a small list of features to potentially look out for in the new version of MIUI. This is a leap forward into Nougat from MIUI 8.
Multi-window support
Quick-reply from notifications
Optimised dose mode
RAM optimization
Improved data saver
Always-on VPN
Call screening feature
Dual space feature
Dual apps
I have honestly never once run a MIUI ROM. Im not quite the flashaholic i used to be (especially now, as finicky as the v20 seems to be), but i could be game for flashing it a few times to kick the tires, see how it rolls.
Am i to understand that it does not have a home screen/app drawer for stock launcher ala iOS? it does retain androids ability to change launchers?
Is there anything "must see" on MIUI? ...not so much eye candy·· I don't care about bling so much, im all about that utility.

Hello! We have all been there with the flashaholic syndrome. It's a fortunate disease ? the V20 is a unit that is quite more finicky than most, but surely not the worst.
Initially, this will be a project starting off with the 918 and working into other variants as I relearn Android and what the new systems look like. It is a launcher that emulates that of an iOS landscape. Yes, you still have all of the ability of changing launches, etc. Must "see" would be animations, style, small 'functionality' pieces like that of the battery bar rather than a battery icon and so on.
It's more or less a eye candy piece of OS rather than something slim, although it is still smaller than a factory image. More "bloated" than a aosp rom but still functions greatly under the right environment.

I have attempted MIUI 8 but there are too many differences in the framework(MM vs N) to patch correctly. I was going to patch 9 in once it releases but if you want it you can have it.
Last time I had miui is when i ported it to the skyrocket in the jellybean era. Would love to see it again. Back when porting ROMs was simple
