[Q] Unlock JB 4.3 - Asus Transformer TF700

My tablet is stock with JB 4.3, want to get TWRP on it, and found that the unlock tool on asus site (both v7 and v8) are telling me "The device is not supported". I cant find a good solution to get this unlocked. Anyone have any ideas? Should I try and downgrade the stock rom back to 4.2? BTW: It is already prompting me to update to 4.4.

... in that case you do NOT have the TF700. There is no update to 4.4 for this tablet. Do you have the TF701T?
Download the correct unlock tool and it'll work - most likely.

You are correct <face palm>
Sorry, forgot my model number. Thanks!!!

One S S4 Jellybean help

Hello.
I just got this phone.
It is S4 and is running on 4.0.4, as of now my phone has no jellybean update showing up in software updates.
I have downloaded WWE jellybean RUU zip.
Now using tool kit whe i try to flash it, it says signature verification fail.
I am struck.
My phone isnt rooted or unlocked.
Help me. Thanks
Please dont fire. I have used search too.. But couldnt find out solution.

bought tablet, and now?

Hello folks,
Just bought the TF300T Tablet yesterday.
It came with Android 4.1.1 preinstalled
Kernel 3.1.10 from Nov 22 21:27:42
Build No: JR003C.WW_epad-10.4.2.18-20121122
I read through many threads about rooting but i have some questions remaining:
How do i find out if my bootloader is already the JB-one which can't stay locked to root the device?
I mean that i can't use nvflash.
At the beginning i want to stay at stock rom, only rooted for removing ads purposes
After what i have read i only have the following options:
a) Install the already offered update to 4.2.1 and use Asus Bootloader Unlock V8. (don't want to unlock)
b) Stay on 4.1.1 and Use Unlock V7 (don't want to unlock)
c) update to 4.2.1 wait if i can root without unlook bootloader sometime
So if anybody haven't an other option i choose to update and wait. am i correct?
Thanks :good:
Now there is no option to get your installed or newer versions to be rooted without unlocking the device.
All your options are correct.
Well your on 4.1.1 which is jellybean so you do have the jellybean bootloader and nvflash is not possible. The only way to root your tablet will require an unlock and custom recovery.

I'd suggest you to keep it stock for some time, so you would avoid some hw failures and warranty problems. I am happy enough with it, it's not perfect but ... nothing is
Proud owner of an ASUS TF300T stock and the "old faithful" SGS i9000 powered by AndroSlim
Since latest update it runs smooth enough
I chosed option a) and updated the tablet. After flashing Asus v8 apk i get struck with correct install of twrp recovery.
I don't see any files. I downloaded the official file from their homepage and read that there is a patched one in a thread.
gonna try this one this evening.
cleanROM is working on a very nice stock ROM with tweaks which is something you might want to consider if you decide to unlock

[Q] Acer Iconia A1-810 Downgrade?

I recently updated to 4.4 Kitkat on my Acer tablet. I've been wanting to root my tablet for a long time but never found a tutorial. Well, just as my luck would have it, after I update to 4.4 I find this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240029
I read a reply in that thread stating that the Acer Toolkit doesn't work with 4.4 because Acer patched it or something. So I was wondering if there is any way I can downgrade my tablet or even root 4.4?

HI
You can't downgrade, since the update also bring an new bootloader, so flashing an system.img of your older Ro (JB4.2) wont work.
Also since your bootloader is LOCKED, there's nothing you can do right now , sorry.
With an MTK UNlocked bootloader, that would be possible...
Regards
Still not possible?
Hi,
I just found this thread whilst searching for instructions on rooting my A1-810 and I was wondering is it still not possible if the kitkat update has been applied?
I just flashed my A1-810 from JB (4.2 I believe) to the latest KitKat version available on Acer's support website (Acer.AV0K0.A1-810.RV0BRC05.PA.CA, just released on 11/06/14) and now my unit is stuck in a boot loop.
I've tried wiping cache/factory reset, and reflashing the same update to no avail. Downgrading to any previous version is not possible (due to bootloader update from KitKat update I presume) and all I get is a assert failed: getprop("ro.product.name") == "a1-810_pa_ca" error when trying to do so).
I hadn't realized just how recent this update was (seeing as they just posted it last week) and am assuming it is due to an issue with the update itself (and Acer's shotty programming).
Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this issue? Sad that a year old tablet is now a paper weight due to a SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
Update: Fixed it!!
After speaking with Acer support, trying to re-flash their image multiple times, and having them tell me that my year old tablet (with warranty ending this past July) would cost $110 to fix (due to THEIR software update), and after being advised NOT TO by their support team, I decided to try and flash the unit myself with a different bootloader.
I basically followed the guide at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=53
and downloaded the A1-810 files and Drivers package from there as well.
Then my unit managed to get past the reboot loop and boot into KK successfully!
CWM didn`t actually install, but there is a note at the bottom of the link regarding that, but I`m not going to bother for now as I am more than happy to have a working tablet again!
Hope this helps anyone else!

For the ASUS MeMoPad 8 (K015) ME581CL I was able to root it successfully on the 4.4.2-based firmware by using the RootZenPhone 1.4.6.8r
[23pin.logdown. com/posts/230216-root-rootzenfone-14r
I had a pretty sweet rooted 4.4.2 setup on the ME581CL (K015) until I mistakenly decided to try for Lollipop
After updating to the latest firmware (Lollipop 5.0.1) I lost root, subsequent tries to root the device did not work, so I hope that someone can help
develop another method., ASUS link here: asus.com/Tablets/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_8_ME581CL/HelpDesk_Download
Note: I actually got stuck in the welcome/setup screen and had to boot into recovery and use "fastboot -w" to wipe data cache and partition
so that it wasn't bricked.

Note: there is some progress in getting downgrade working here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/root-downgrade-asus-me581cl-t3075678
I have not tested this method however. I am somewhat content with stock 5.0.1 for now and a decent non-root firewall
to block the ASUS crapware that ships with the factory Android, though I'd much prefer to have downgraded and had my root back on 4.4.2

Can you explain what you mean about this/how you accomplished it?
I've got the ME581CL with the 5.0 OS from ASUS. Sure like to be able to get rid of some of the junk they've placed on this tablet.

It doesn't let you get rid of everything, but you can install "No Root Firewall" and block everything by default - it uses a loopback device to bind all your traffic through it so you don't need root to block/allow traffic from apps.
To update to 5.0.1 I copied the firmware here: https://www.asus.com/Tablets/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_8_ME581CL/HelpDesk_Download/ into the root directory of the tablet and restarted it, that picked it up and applied it.

Possible to Downgrade from EMUI 4.1 to EMUI 4.0

Hi,
my phone is NXT AL-10. It came with B180 ROM. I upgraded to B323 version through dload method.
i tried to unlock the bootloader through dcunlocker. When i unlocked through OEM Unlock method, it gave me some error but i could see the confirmation and other usual stuffs in phone screen. So i proceeded.
Later i installed TWRP for EMUI 4.1 and installed L29-B320 Stock Rooted firmware. Everything went fine. But after this only my problem started, i tried to flash some zip (like fonts) its not working. I tried ES file explorer it says i don't have root permission. So really don't know whats happening.
Now, i really want to go back to L29-B180 Stock rooted for good. Possible? any kind soul can point me a correct direction?
Thank you.
Same problem
