I just started playing with my new Note Edge and noticed there is no mobile data. I tried to send a picture text and get the "image will be sent when mobile data becomes available". Tried to reset the phone, but nothing. Any thoughts on this?

Check under settings - connections - more networks - mobile networks and make sure mobile data is checked.
Also check to make sure the APN (also under mobile networks) is correct
Otherwise call ATT to make sure your account is setup for data. You may also have a bad SIM card.

Is there some easy trick to getting the 3G mobile data to work? It is greyed out in the top RH icon. Only wi-fi works for internet connection. What am I missing!? I have "set mobile limit" checked off no diff. I have a good signal just stays greyed out.
Have you tried switching modems?
Have you went to apn and made sure it's on your network. You have to go to system settings, data, more, mobile networks then access point names.

I flipped back to gingerbread but I have the CWM so I can easily flipp back to ICS. How do I change modems in ICS?? I am in Ontario with Rogers but when the phone boots it flashes AT&T and there are some AT&T apps.
Also found ICS wouldn't play several video formats and made the external SD hard to find. It would be woth a try if I could get it on the mobile data network I am paying for.
shaker2K: does that menu allow me to select from multiple access point names? on the other OS's it usually is only a status of the only network activated?

I flashed the factory images for 5.0.1 and now have no mobile data. Can make and revieve calls as well as text messages but thats it. Tried fixing permissions through twrp and got a boot loop. Reatored back.... Dont have an option to change apn settings. Go to cellular network settings and no option there for apn. Thinking ill have to reflash factory images but hoping there was another option.

Whenever I attempt to turn on my data while in a call (and data had been off prior to the call) the phone gives me the "not available over VoLTE call"
I have searched for solutions to this which include:
- making sure VOLTE is enabled on my verizon account and on the phone
- Network settings reset
- making sure Advanced calling is enabled...
None of the above work. Anyone have any solutions?

Go into settings, Advanced calling, then advanced calling again and turn the toggle to off. This will turn off hd calling and will allow your mobile data to be used during calls.

Thank you! This does work in that it allows you to switch data "on" while in a call. However, after just testing it, I only get the "1x" data symbol after enabling data and when I try to use data via facebook, chrome, etc. then it gives me the message "data is unavailable while in calls".
will still have to look for another way around it i guess
Apex, one thing I have noticed is that for some reason, LG has decided to disable mobile data during a phone call. In my mind, this is very frustrating as keeping mobile data active during a phone call is one of the main features of even having 4g lte outside of the 4g speeds itself. I dont know why LG has decided this, but then again, they also decided that getting rid of the app drawer would be a good idea too. THat idea has backfired on them to the point that they had to release an update just to incorporate it back in.
Hi, my mate 9 mobile data stopped working today for no reason, only thing I did was connect the phone to the hotel wifi last night, not sure why is doing this. I tested the sim card on another phone and mobile data works fine so is not a service provider issue, has anyone experienced same behavior before? I already restart the phone and verify mobile settings but issue persist and have no data traffic unless I connect to wifi

Have you checked Settings -> More that data is turned on for mobile? Also check your APNs. Settings -> More -> Mobile Network -> Access point names.

yes all settings checked, I even disable restarted and enable them again
Are you on T-Mobile? If so it's an APN bug.. You have to create a new APN with the same settings and use that. The default one causes mobile data to keep being lost...

Was driving me nuts, took some trial and error. FYI i think some of the newer roms no longer have this issue, although because of the stupid Huawei blocking updates by IMEI you might need to install via FirmwareFinder.

I got the solution calling my mobile operator. They blocked for some unknown reason my data.

Im on Bell Mobility. I purchased 4 used S7's while in Florida they were unlocked on the AT&T network. When I got home all but the one worked fine. The issue with the one is that I cant send a picture with a text and this is in the stock app as well as textra. I have called Bell and after several days they say its my phone. I have replaced sim and factory reset the phone. I have checked the APN settings and they are the same as the other phones
Does anyone have any ideas

First, download using wifi both google message and keyboard from the play store. After installation, turn on your mobile data and turn off your wifi then try to send mms message. Also check network mode is swtich to lte/3g/2g (auto connect).

There is nothing of the exact name Google Message do you mean Android Messages by Google. I have looked in my mobile networks and I do not find any setting to change to auto connect

Yes Android Messages (They might drop the name soon).
Go to Settings->Connection->Mobile Networks->Network mode. Check if the settings is switch to LTE/3G/2G mode. Otherwise check Access Point Names to see if you have any settings for your carrier. Probably mms settings is not configured properly.
Samsung has upgraded their messaging and keyboard app to allow gif and mms messages. So far it only works well on Android versions 7.1.1 to 8.1. ?
