I'm using airtel 3g in India. Whenever I'm connected to 3g and I get/make a call, the data doesn't work.
Is anyone else facing the same problem? Due to this, I can't use maps, whatsapp, true caller or anything for internet while driving and talking.
It wasn't the issue some 4 months back. I have experienced the same in htc one max, moto g, lenovo vibe z2 pro, oneplus one and some more mobiles. ExperimenTed with Vodafone as well.
3g is supposed to work during calls also right? Is it limited to airtel alone or is it the same with aircel, idea and docomo?

contact Airtel Customer Care and tell them your problem....
Tried that. They said you can't access data over 3g while on a call. Only differentiator between 2g and 3g is the speed difference. I tried explaining the details of 3g, but he told it doesn't allow data while on call!

lol ...that is a funny answer. well the meaning of 3G is mobile broadband. well mean you can use data along with phone line. in simplest terms. i used airtel 3g in haryana and using it from last many years. also used in delhi in early days. always able to use it along with call. even truecaller works one same principle it shows your caller name on 3g connection because its necessary to have a 3g or wifi for it to work. well call again and ask the representative to let you speak to senior representative. :good:
Well, I managed some debugging on my own and figured out that issue is due to the access point settings. Changed some parameters and now I get slow internet while on call atleast!
The default settings I get won't allow me to get data while on call!
Can someone whose data works properly share their access point details? If airtel that is!

In my Nexus 5 whenever I enable data signal drops time to time.I changed the sim card too but it didnt solve it either.Looks like it happens only in 3g network because I didnt notice it in 4G LTE.
No matter which ROM i have in my phone, this happened in KitKat (full stock), PA, Lollipop (full stock).
I put my sim into a Galaxy S3 and it worked fine. So I think this is a issue in my phone, not on the sim.
Anybody else having this issue?

It finds the best network. If you enable it for voice only, I would imagine it would only look for best voice connection which could be 2G, but then when you enable data - it needs 3g. Just making a guess here

Thanks for the idea. I changed the settings to 3G in Preferred network type and looks like it has solved the problem! No signal drops for few minutes.Will test more and report back!

Had my ascend mate 7 for two weeks now, noticed that sometimes (now more and more often) I have troubles calling, I don't hear the voice, it's like breaking, nothing wrong with the speaker, but looks like the phone is losing the connection, but the signal bar is full.
What could possibly be the reason?

I am also having problem with the data. It is frequently disconnecting. The data sim bars are less as compared to the voice sim, although it is from the same service provider. I changed the slots also but results are the same. My colleagues are telling that there is no problem in their phones. I don't know where is the problem? My voice sim is working well...

I have a suspicion that my problem is in the SIM card, is it possible that due to using old card with the 4g networks this problem occurs?

I thought it is in SIM.. but I didn't have problem with honor 6 phone..

Hi there android fans Recently one issue came up on my Huawei Ascend Mate 7 model MT7-L09 : just switched off manually mobile data in order to update from EMUI 3 to EMUI 4 and android 6 using wi-fi connection (saving cost of mobile data internet big load data transfer for that update) . The unpleasant surprise appeared after all the update and optimization finished, when I realized that mobile data cannot be activated anymore although I switched ON manually mobile data again from the settings menu. So in a few words: the mobile data icon looks switched ON but no "H" symbol for mobile data displayed and of course no Internet ((
If anybody can give me a solving hint would very appreciate it.

T-Mobile uses VoLTE (voice over) and it must be supported by software in its phones, if it isnt, it will switch to 4G (H/H+). Does the VZW NE support H/H+?

I have no idea, but i have alway seen 4g lte on it and on call data stops.
Note: i am only getting lte, no 3g, h/h+ and every time i am on call my mobile network type goes to UMTS.

Yup, even though Verizon LTE phones are unlocked out of the box they are not smooth sailing most of the time. They mess with them somehow to make some things inconvenient. You'll have to search around for the solution by people in the same boat as you. That's what I had to do when I was using the Droid Maxx on T-Mobile.

My advice to you would be to not limit yourself to searching only those with a note edge but instead expand your search to anyone using a Verizon LTE phone on t-mobile. It is usually something similar that is causing the problem therefore something similar that will resolve it.

The Note Edge only has 1 antenna and on Verizon phones you have to install and subscribe to Advanced calling in order to get simultaneous voice and data. And since Verizon's VoLTE requires Band 13 I believe, you are most likely going to be out of luck.
I just received my S6 , and when I use the 4G network if someone calls me my phone doesn't ring , I only get a sms to tell me someone tried to call me
I know that voice doesn't work on 4G , and my phone should turn to 3G by itself but it doesn't do it , the only way to get calls is to force
3G only , is this a known issue ?

No, I get calls in 4G/3G/2G anything!
What is your carrier? Sounds like it is more of a CDMA limitation issue. CDMA technology does not allow simultaneous voice and data traffic. Example of CDMA carriers are verizon and sprint, i think

My carrier is Orange France , actually they are aware of the issue , they told me it must be fixed by Samsung so who knows how long it will stay like that
Sprint note 5 unlock full , is there a way to get tmobile 4glte on this ? I was told that sprint lock that from there phones so I have to enable aws
The Sprint Note 5 variant contains the LTE bands to support Tmobile's B4 and B12 LTE network. If its unlocked you don't have to do anything but just pop in a Tmobile sim card. Not sure what is the confusion is. In addition you have to set your Network mode to be Automatic in Mobile Networks settings.
My note 5 is unlocked by sprint. And i do not get LTE from tmobile, only 3g. When i switch to automatic, it stops working and i get a "!"
Yup but it does have 4glte capabilities, also I was suggested to try verizon but they don't have unlimited plan, at least know I get my clients photos and respond don't have to hang up and all that
I get lte on mine but texts only work on 3g unless I use my google voice number

I did everything just as mentioned and this is what I get u see at the top an exclamation with automatic selection.. Is it possible to flash the tmobile modem ? Is that even posible
This morning wok upband faund my phone had lte fast as a beast and I was like wow but dint notice it had lte then I got that msg it showd and the weard part is that it says sprint not tmo plus can't send picture or multiple contact, if I make call it drops to an exclamation ill post pic

Mine says sprint also when I'm on lte. It only shows tmo when im on the gsm setting. And i cant send texts either unless i use my google voice number with the hangouts app
