Hey is anyone having 4g problems in the LA area. I have a 2 to 5 minute delay when using the browser if the page loads at all. 3g is loading instantly.

Been living with this issues for over a week. Several apps timeout as well and will not update. Gmail and exchange email have to be manually refreshed.
Verizon tech told me socal is having issues and they are looking into it. I would suggest you call and have them look up your area. I'm guessing there are a number of reports.

This is caused by a DNS issue that is only present on 4G. The only way to fix it right now is to use SetDNS on a rooted phone, or not use 4G. No word on when it will be fixed, has been an issue for over a month in some areas.

Yeah, I'm in Orange County and have been noticing this happening for about two weeks. On 4G, in the beginning it'll act just as normal, but then the icon will start disappearing and reappearing on the notification bar and the service will just stop working and never be stable.
It's almost as if they're begging us to root our phones.
Yeah this sucks. I called vzw and they acted like they had no idea about it. Thanks for the feedback guys

The support tech I spoke with found the trouble ticket in San Diego and added me to it.
I'm in San Diego and it happens to me too.
What radio are you all using?
I'm using the debloated MR2 ROM update.
I blame IPv6 day.

I am on MR2 and I have the issue. Thought about rolling back to pre-MR1 but I am not sure if that would fix the problem. If you're rooted, you can use the SetDNS app and that will fix it.

The new radio combined with SetDNS has actually improved my situation a lot, but there are still minor annoyances. I am in San Diego.

As I posted in the other 4G DNS issues thread, me and my friend have been experiencing the same issue on our thunderbolts for awhile now here in San Diego. I went down the the big corporate store and demonstrated to the rep that his Charge, Revolution, and Thunderbolts all had problems on 4G getting to google sites specifically. He said he would bring it up through whatever channels they have.
I also wrote an email to Verizon and I got a call back from a rep who says it's a "sort of a known issue" and my concerns have been forwarded to the people working on it. She said the next software update should fix it. Im guessing it will change some DNS settings, since that's what rooted people have been doing to fix the problem.
Thanks for all the responses guys

Not the case with my wife's Samsung Charge. Her 4G LTE loads up just fine. I had both her Charge and my TB side by side to test and every single time, her webpage loads quick and mine just hangs for 2 mins.
The same problem on EvO 4G WIMAX hope for setDNS app
so I was messing with a fake gps app and now my location is stuck in florida when I live in california. google maps or any location based app starts with florida and then 30 seconds later it will find my real location. I got my replacement phone today and it's STILL stuck in florida making me think my gps location is stored with google somewhere. so strange anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,
I'm currently in Paris and thought I was a well prepared by creating a list of saved places, and downloading the entire city to use offline in maps
The problem is, the actual navigation/find directions part doesn't seem to work without an Internet connection - I can still browse the map etc but I have no way of finding out how far away places are, or the best way of getting there
Also, my GPS took almost 30 minutes before finding my location
Any suggestions please? In florida last year I used my iPhone offline constantly for driving directions etc and it was perfect, is there anyway I can do something similar on my Android please?
Thanks!
Navfree.
Works a treat

So I'm on a Verizon non dev edition moto X running stock 4.4.2. The network got released yesterday and I am unable to stream anything from it. The app crashes every time I try.
I've dealt with the customer support and they transfer me, and I get disconnected.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone get it working on 4.4.0?
I'm having the same issue with my 2013 Nexus 7. Early yesterday the app was causing my device to reboot, now the app just force closes, so I guess progress is being made.

I'd say early release jitters. I didn't even see videos on the site. I'd say give it a week to iron out the kinks.

Try the GPS Status Test & Fix app from the playstore, its free.
I'm out of data on my subscription so I tried navigating with Here maps (offline). GPS started working fin, but lost lock quite a few times and even for a few minutes. In a wide street with the phone on the dashboard..
It feels like a bug. Didn't try anything as I was driving. The phone runs L and is fairly new (2 months).
