No mobile internet connection under Lollipop - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
so i just flashed the lollipop Factory image.
Everythings good but i dont have mobile internet connection. I do have a signal and can make phone calls and stuff just the internet connection is not available. Already checked if its enabled and APN settings.
What can I do about this?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem here with german prepaid sim card (O2) - if that's relevant in any way

Same problem here, I flashed my Nexus 5. I also have a german O2 sim card. Someone has an idea?

Hey,
i had the same problem. For me, this works:
go to apn settings and change the mvno-type to nothing (maybe anything comparable, in german: "keine")

Hi Chris,
great, that worked! Thanks a lot

Thanks Chris, works perfectly again!

Thanks, this worked for me too. Btw the same german O2 provider.

My fix was to use *#*#72786#*#* to reactivate and reset everything. After that I was able to update the PRL and after the profile was updated I received a LTE connection.
I'm a US Sprint user though so YMMV... I didn't even have an APN menu

Mine was already set to none on straighttalk and I still have no internet access...any ideas?

What fixed it for me was to create a new APN setting and leave everything default except the name. Changed it to "pinternet.inerkom.de" and it works.
O2 here as well btw ;D

Did you try with a friens simcard if you have data then? Double checked the APN settings and rebooted after that?

Installed XDANDROID on RHOD400.. data doesn't work?

Hello all,
I am very excited to have android working on my RHOD400, I installed Froyo 2.2 (FRX06) and everything seems to working great, even Wifi works. However, my data plan does not work at all... I can't browse any websites or connect to the Android market without using my wifi connection...
Does anyone know what could be the issue? I have tried many kernels and the problem still exists... I checked the APN settings under the Android Network setting and everything appears to be blank... is this the problem?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks!
Hi, simply search for the relevant apn settings for your carrier and enter them manually. Who are you with?
A new install cant tell who your with so you have to set this up yourself

thanks for the reply, i have sprint network ... would anyone be willing to share their apn settings for sprint? thanks!
anyone? I tried googling my sprint APN but am not getting any relevant results.
I have a Rhod400, also on Sprint Network. I searched for the APN for Sprint and it appears there is no APN for Sprint since they are a CDMA carrier. But I also found some people say SPRINT APN = internet.com Does anyone know for sure?

I am using it and no problem at all, If you insert the sim card you won't get the network bars until you enter the APN. To Enter the APN go to setting and Wireless&Networks in "More" Tab you can go Mobile networks then Access Point Names if no apn added the it will be blank,
Press the Option button which is located bottom right corner, press the option button and click on add New APN, Now you have to Enter the correct Info in the APN and save the APN after saving it you have to select the APN then it will work. You can get the APN info from you Mobile Service Provider. I hope it will Solve you Problem.

I followed the steps. Sadly once I press save. It went back to the APN list but still blank.
I tried with two sim cards from different providers. Both results are the same, once save, APN list still blank.

Should not be like this. Anyway try to reset your phone to factory setting but make sure you save your important data before you reset the phone. To do reset your phone go to setting and personal and backup & rest. I hope it solve the problem.

I bought it off rakuten. It says officially unlocked.
Is there any ways to know if it unlocked or locked?
At about page on Sim lock it just stated "-". Not sure if relevant or not.

I'm also from Malaysia and eying at this model or other Fujitsu model, mainly because of the present of IR port on many Fujitsu models. But I won't buy it here for sure. It's not popular here and imagine the cost to own it. Japan or China markets are good way to start. :good:
Just bought this phone here in Japan to swap my SGS III alpha. I am using SoftBank's Black (iPhone) SIM Card after unlocked it. The problem is that I could not connected to the network (Internet) even I already set the APN (using smile.world), I used this setting with my SGS III alpha and had no problems in network. But, this phone seems it is not connected. Found on the Status that Mobile Network: UMTS and Mobile Network State: Disconnected.
I had searched this kind of problem on forums, webs, and chats without having any luck.
Please is there someone have any solution to solve this.
Thanks in advance...

@ari3lz: After factory unlocked this phone at Docomo shop it will noted Sim Unlock below Sim Lock, not the mark (-) as showed on your screenshot. It also needs to put Docomo Sim card into the phone just after unlocked it. It's better to ask the seller if the phone already factory unlock or not. Many sellers on internet (rakuten, Yahoo Auction, Amazon.co.jp) they will say it could be unlocked and assumed that we can unlocked it by ourselves, just like my case I bought it from Yahoo auction and I unlocked to Docomo shop.
Hi,
Please how does one enable internet on this phone?
I have added my network APN and I can use the network but I do not get any internet connection on the network.
Connection to network
I would like to thank hifi.madness for your info on how to connect Fujitsu to our service providers.
The only issue that I have is how to root it or get into Service Menu.
do you have any idea or suggestion?

[Q] trouble finding apn menu

I have 2 N5's, but under settings>more>mobile networks I dont have Access Point Names. All i've got is Data enabled/Data roaming/ Network mode/ system select/ and carrier settings. So now I would like to put my AT&T sim in and actually use LTE, but no APN menu. These are Sprint N5's not that that should change anything. Thx for any help.

I wish, just Update PRL, and Update Profile. so far I have not been able to find it anywhere
Now on my Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, it's easy to find lol.
by the way, just to help someone help me, I'm on kit kat build version: KRT16M. Baseband M8974a-1.0.25.0.17; Kernel: 3.4.0-g9eb14ba
On my Nexus 5, it's located under "Settings", then right under Data usage there is a "More..." tab.
That takes you to a new screen and under "Mobile networks" is the APN.
I'm on Telus, if that makes any difference.

I also think you have to have a sim card in place for the "APN" to be visible or active.

Yep, that's right where I'm used to seeing it. I'm guessing that Sprint has "hacked" the 4.4 OS and hidden the APN menu or something. I went into the store today and asked where it was and they didn't know (no shock there), but when they tried to update my tower settings they did a *#*#72786#*#* to reset the phone, and then did the *#*#8232#*#* and did some stuff that they wouldn't allow me to see.....
Anyone have an idea if the T-mobile N5's have been "molested"? IE APN menus and such are where they should be?
ok, after some more digging, it looks like the APN settings are all under the data menu using the *#*#3282#*#* to access it. It's all broken up instead of being in one list like in 4.3 and prior, but it looks like it's all there. now to find some apn settings for Sprint and AT&T to do some testing.

Its my understanding these are the same model phone. You might want to try just putting in your AT&T SIM if you haven't done that already. On my previous phone (Verizon Note 2), that changed carrier specific settings and loaded the APN automatically. You shouldn't have to do any dialer menu magic for GSM service. When I activated my Nexus 5 on AT&T we just stuck in the SIM and the AT&T rep configured stuff on his computer, nothing more needed to be done on my phone.
Yup, it worked without a hitch. Soon as I put in the AT&T sim the APN menu was right were it should be. Service was fast and clean. Putting the sprint sim back in proved problematic, but nothing a system restore couldn't fix. Thanks for all the help

Telstra Xperia Z3 not working with iiNet Data

My friend received an Xperia Z3 from Telstra as part of his plan and I got an iPhone 6 as part of my iiNet one. I hated the iPhone 6 and he hated the Xperia, so we swapped after looking up online that they are both unlocked out of the box. Everything seems fine except that my mobile data doesn't work, in the upper left corner it shows iiNet (the right carrier) but I cannot seem to get my mobile data to work. Is this a problem with the unit itself or with the fact that we swapped phones?
You'll need to configure your APN settings since Telstra phones only come with their settings.
Visit iiNet's website for their APN settings then head to Settings -> Mobile Network -> APN and add them there. Save then enable.
---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:57 PM ----------
Their website doesn't actually have it as far as I can tell, have sourced it for you here.

Hmm that's weird. Had the same problem on Reddit where a Canadian couldn't get their M7 to work with iiNet mobile data but their calls and texts were fine. Are you absolutely sure that the internet one is selected in Mobile Data settings?

Yeah it is... For the apn type for the inter net one, do I type "default or internet"? Or just one of them?
I got it to work in the end but thanks for all your help
For anyone interested in how I did it, continue to read:
Firstly I went to Settings > More under Wireless and Networks > Internet Settings (note you need WiFi to do this) and then selected Optus because iiNet runs under Optus and then the APN settings were changed automatically and mobile data now works
Sent from my D6653 using XDA Free mobile app
Ahh yes, the Optus APN, slipped my mind.
FYI for anyone else, the Optus APN works with all MVNO's using the Optus network (Virgin Mobile, iiNet, Exetel etc.).
Glad it's all sorted out.

mobile data stop working

Hi, my mate 9 mobile data stopped working today for no reason, only thing I did was connect the phone to the hotel wifi last night, not sure why is doing this. I tested the sim card on another phone and mobile data works fine so is not a service provider issue, has anyone experienced same behavior before? I already restart the phone and verify mobile settings but issue persist and have no data traffic unless I connect to wifi

Have you checked Settings -> More that data is turned on for mobile? Also check your APNs. Settings -> More -> Mobile Network -> Access point names.

Are you on T-Mobile? If so it's an APN bug.. You have to create a new APN with the same settings and use that. The default one causes mobile data to keep being lost...
Thanks, this fixed it for me.

Was driving me nuts, took some trial and error. FYI i think some of the newer roms no longer have this issue, although because of the stupid Huawei blocking updates by IMEI you might need to install via FirmwareFinder.
Great thanks!! But I keep mine stock.
