I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

The XML that controls the boot screen is not the Binary XML that's in the APK's and Manifest files. It's actually readable.

I appreciate the bootscreen but I am wondering if we can actually change the splash screen (then one that shows HTC before the bootscreen starts up) or if the GSM hero just got lucky with hacking theirs.

I know they have an unlocked SPL by MoDaCo or Cyanogen that allows commands to change splash screens. If we booted into fastboot and tried it, our phones would turn into $180 paperweights.

Hey man I dont mean to be picky and im not the OP. But is there anyway to use a different image? The android pissing on apple is great but the android character is not green for some reason. The original link in the OP has a green guy.
Sorry if im being fussy
And just making sure its not my setup, did you make it to have the original hero animation, nexus, and the splash screen?

This is system dump based port.

because the system dump from JellyBean happened on Day 1 of I/O...Before you try and correct somone, or 'ask a loaded question' do your homework. Cool to see that were able to boot into JB with an ICS kernel. I will try making a source build off of the JB-DEV branch later today after this EXTREMELY long sync finishes,,

Hello guys,
can you please wait flashing it? I download it at the moment and will test it for you. If my device gets broken it's not a huge probelem:
1. i have s-off (no not made by myself)
2. i have flashed a new rom with wipe 1 hour ago.
SO you don't need to delete your apps or waste your time.
Showing back in, i would say 30mins
So... my question to the OP is, how did you install the rom with no META-INF folder (what actually installs it) and with no boot.img (kernel)? And where are those screenshots?
---------- Post added at 03:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:30 PM ----------
I am about to try to flash it with CM9 components
this seems like something that wasnt 100% ready and just rushed out to be 1st to post it..or you made a mistake and uploaded the wrong zip file?..either way thanks i guess..waiting for the screenshots:fingers-crossed:
Dear xda-developers,
I ported MIUI 4. I used Sandwich Deluxe as my base ROM.
For the MIUI layout I have used this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791289.
Exactly the same as my other ROM, just another look.
I hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to push the thanks button!
You can try it while awaiting CM10, which I will port as soon as it is released in the Hero-section.
Here's the downloadlink: http://www.speedyshare.com/xWATF/MIUI-v4.zip
Reuploaded link: http://www.speedyshare.com/bxnAH/MIUI-v4.zip
I remind you: I don't develop, I just port. So don't forget to thank the original ROM-developers.

SetupWizard isn't included in this ROM, so just configure it manually. No big deal...
Wi-Fi signal is always on low, it's just a graphical bug like in Sandwich Deluxe. Again not so important.
What do you mean with screen overlapping?

Weird, since above users don't seem to have that problem.
I've downloaded the ROM myself and I got the same message.
I'll reupload it this evening.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
EDIT: Reuploaded!
When I turn my device on, there's this annoying USB Mass Storage window, even when is not connected to the computer, and when I close it, the screen goes mad and overlaps every window I open. This happened every time it booted, I solved disabling that UMS app. I think that's what jklxz44 mean.
Oh, the screen resolution is messed up in some apps like IMDB, the search bar is cut and the cursor of the trackball is too small.
Overall, I like MIUI, there's some bugs, but is great :d
I use a lot of comas right? xd

Thank you for reporting the issues.
The problem with the resolution could it be that it's not supported? Did you have the same problem with Sandwich Deluxe?
Search bar and the cursor problem are the same as in the original ROM.
I just ported it quickly, but if there's a lot of response I could try to improve it.
But for now, I'm waiting for CM10 to port and support with continuous updates.
This port was just an experiment. Feel free to modify it yourself.
If you have suggestion for ROMs you would like to have ported, let me know and I'll see what I can do. ;p

In the text file edit the mainver from 2.00.000.0 to 2.21.605.2 as i would for us but then I would have to mirror his download n I don't know if he would like that. Maybe I should ask him.
Or just use option 2 download an extract img proceed as normal.

Hi guys. I couldn't find these on our M8 forum, but I have grabbed the black version of the boot animation from the nexus-6p forum. Also included is the matching bootsplash. Everything resized for our 1080x1920 M8 phones.
*Update* 2017-01-07
As requested adding the white versions. I also made a reversed black version that starts with the "G" and ends with "Google", bootsplash_pix_blk_r.zip & bootanimation_pix_blk_r.zip. I may tweak it if anyone else likes it.
You can flash all zips from TWRP recovery.
Enjoy
