Hi guys. I couldn't find these on our M8 forum, but I have grabbed the black version of the boot animation from the nexus-6p forum. Also included is the matching bootsplash. Everything resized for our 1080x1920 M8 phones.
*Update* 2017-01-07
As requested adding the white versions. I also made a reversed black version that starts with the "G" and ends with "Google", bootsplash_pix_blk_r.zip & bootanimation_pix_blk_r.zip. I may tweak it if anyone else likes it.
You can flash all zips from TWRP recovery.
Enjoy

Is it possible to add the pixel boot sound to the black boot screen please, that would be awesome, I've been trying to add it myself today but not having any luck, the boot screen zip increases in size I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it but I'm hoping you can succeed where so far I've failed lol, Tia for your time and effort it is very appreciated

Unless something has changed, I don't think you add the sound to the animation zip. I believe it's a separate zip in the system folder.

Well I flashed the pixel experience zip when I first noticed the boot sound and got intrigued and tried to rebuild it with the sound and I found the mp3 within the boot screen zip mate, I couldn't find any other.

I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

The XML that controls the boot screen is not the Binary XML that's in the APK's and Manifest files. It's actually readable.

Edit: Guess should of put a little info up. This is just a boot screen. It has all the normal boot screens with the droid peeing on the apple as the last one. It's a signed zip file just download put on root of sd card, boot into recovery, flash like any other. Will work on 1.5 not sure on 2.1.
Here's the right color green droid.

I appreciate the bootscreen but I am wondering if we can actually change the splash screen (then one that shows HTC before the bootscreen starts up) or if the GSM hero just got lucky with hacking theirs.

I know they have an unlocked SPL by MoDaCo or Cyanogen that allows commands to change splash screens. If we booted into fastboot and tried it, our phones would turn into $180 paperweights.
here is another image if anyone wants it for there wallpaper

Hey man I dont mean to be picky and im not the OP. But is there anyway to use a different image? The android pissing on apple is great but the android character is not green for some reason. The original link in the OP has a green guy.
Sorry if im being fussy
And just making sure its not my setup, did you make it to have the original hero animation, nexus, and the splash screen?

you could install CM and then flash the stock boot screen animation over it,
Or you could create your own custom CM build with the stock boot animation

Then google or search the forum. Not sure if the Nexus S works like other phones but you normally would.....
You would first have to find the Nexus One bootanimation.zip (they're the same)
Place it in one of the system folders /system/media/
Reboot and see if it works.

^^ some don't need to be flashed... some do
it depends on the ROM, the method I posted above would probably not do any harm. If it works, it works.. if it doesn't then nothing will change.
Again, I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. Just passing the message by.
Hey guys anyone have a flashable zip of the new Android animation? I have an insecure boot kernel and I put the files in the right spot but I only get a black screen. I fixed the permissions and made sure I typed "bak" at the end of the original boots. And nothing
You put it in /system/customize/resouce/vzw_bootup.zip?
That's what I did and its working just fine. I also have it set as the down animation.

i eventually figured that out but the only issue im having now is the shortness of the boot. Does yours do the fancy android thing and just keep blinking until it loads?
Yeah, pretty sure that's what it's supposed to do.

OnePlus for providing boootanimation.
Google for the bootanimation
Great work bro.. keep up the good work
Cheers? keep it up @niwia
Damn that looks so fine!
Animation is nice but I'd prefer OP logo breaking down and creating Google logo then they jumping on each other like on pixel and then roaming around one circle and at the end merging to form Google's G logo.. That'd be very good.
looks good!
Where is the original bootanimation zip? ?
Thread updated with Oxygen os Stock boot animation. Sorry for the delay.
The break from the bootlogo (that with powered by android) to the bootanimation is still kinda hard.

sure. our stock bootanimation shows google logo with made by android in the pre boot screen and then suddenly oneplus logo comes up. no transition is there. for me that's lack of continuity of animation. in my bootanimation ive made it so the google logo from pre boot screen has a transition animation when booting screen comes like is pixel. hope you understood.
