because the system dump from JellyBean happened on Day 1 of I/O...Before you try and correct somone, or 'ask a loaded question' do your homework. Cool to see that were able to boot into JB with an ICS kernel. I will try making a source build off of the JB-DEV branch later today after this EXTREMELY long sync finishes,,

can you please wait flashing it? I download it at the moment and will test it for you. If my device gets broken it's not a huge probelem:
1. i have s-off (no not made by myself)
2. i have flashed a new rom with wipe 1 hour ago.
SO you don't need to delete your apps or waste your time.

So... my question to the OP is, how did you install the rom with no META-INF folder (what actually installs it) and with no boot.img (kernel)? And where are those screenshots?

I was on stock 2.3.6, rooted, and flashed the reboot menu mod, totally forgetting it was for deodexed roms only. Now I have widespread FC issues, usb doesn't work, data and wifi show they're connected but I can't navigate to any websites or anything net related. Zumocast opens but won't recognize my pc.
I didn't make a backup either, I know, dumb move.
So is there any way I can get my phone fully functional again?

Woohoo for me accidentally making a system dump of 2.3.6 odexed (restored the wrong backup ) and not deleting it! I'll upload a flashable zip in just a moment that should return the replaced files back to stock.
BTW this shouldn't be in the dev section

I hope that works....couple observations....I am in the process of d/l the stock 2.3.6 deodexed cwm backup in lfabers thread and was gonna try to fix it that way, that file is 166mb....the file you just posted is just 7mb, is that the right file?

Yes, what I uploaded just restores framework-res, framework, and android.policy which are the files that get modified in the reboot in power options mod.

In the text file edit the mainver from 2.00.000.0 to 2.21.605.2 as i would for us but then I would have to mirror his download n I don't know if he would like that. Maybe I should ask him.
Or just use option 2 download an extract img proceed as normal.

Are you sure that you are updating the zip file with your changed text file?

If you use windows? I guessing use winrar an open zip make edit hit save an it should ask you do you want to apply changes to archive say yes.

Has anyone successfully flashed the new Cyanogenmod Update on the GS5 from Virgin Mobile? I have been unable to get it to work. The updater script wont let me flash, and even when I delete the first section, the installation is still aborted. Any suggestions?

The zip you sent has another folder called Rom in the root I'll fix it and send it back to you, next time when you make the zip don't zip the folder, zip the system, meta whatever, and data inside of the folder, zip all of those.

I had the same thing, (YOU SHOULD TRY PAC ROM IN THE ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT PAGE, MORE FEATURES cx) mess around with the settings, try flashing a modem, take your sim card out and back in, airplane mode and back, odin flash, dunno what else.
Is there a way to just flash cm11? Thats about the extent of my knowledge
It would be great if someone could edit them for the rest of us and post them.

what recovery did you use? I flashed using modified TWRP and data and mms work fine..

I actually have updated. The update is rather quite nice and super snappy. You can now also send .gifs through stock messenger. I signed up on the wife's phone for the beta as well that's where/how I will grab the .bin

Probably didn't, maybe next device hehe. Have to change their process again, possibly; however the command we exploited to escalate our adb commands can't necessarily be blocked/disabled as it is required. They may however drop the privileges that the command has, and take our leverage point away.

I tried to pull it but the issue is the update.bin file is in /data/fota which cannot be accessed and I tried to root to grab it but current root method deletes everything and there is nothing I could do about it. I also tried to get update when I was on Sampwnd firmware but Software Update threw error saying I had modified system.

I have already grabbed the bin but its completely useless for now because It can't be flashed at all. signature verification failed and missing footer. fota app on phone does something to bin file to convert it to flashable bin file but I still could not figure it out. But I wonder if anything on .bin file could be helpful for root
EDIT: I grabbed .bin file for S8 though not S8+ and I grabbed it directly from FOTA server.
I've updated to Oreo, however I can flash TWRP through Odin, but going in recovery only shows stock recovery. Haven't tried to flash CF-AutoRoot with Odin.
