I recently rooted my android phone. Today, i was using my phone and suddenly i see a notification in the status bar. It said, "Secret video recorder has been installed" - a notification seen when any app is installed from the play store. This sent a chill down my spine.
- is it possible that my phone has been hacked. And someone is controlling it
- Has my phone security been compromised
- I also though, may be my google account password has been leaked. And someone simple installed the app from the web play store using my account.
Can anyone please suggest, what exactly might have happened. I have uninstalled that app and also searched my app list for any potential malware. I also wanted to know about the security vulnerabilities which come with rooting a phone. I am very worried about my data.

Hi guys
I'm asking you for HELP because I lost hope how to fix my problem with my new Asus Zenfone 5 on my own. I bought phone from China - Spemall.com (good and safe website). Phone is brilliant and very well made all is perfect except one thing - it was no play store installed. All other phones and tablets from them had play store installed this is first time when I had device without it.
I have this phone for two days now I was trying almost everything (in my opinion everything) to install both first Google Play Services and after that Play Store.
I downloaded both latest versions apk and first installed services and after play store but when trying to tap in play store icon all what I getting is
---Unfortunately Google play services has stopped.
I was cleaning data, cache, reinstalling both apps and even I did few times factory reset but nothing. I was still getting famous massage --- Unfortunately Google play services has stopped. Whatever I press Google settings or play store it will always end up in this same way.
Phone is not rooted!!!
I was using guides from you tube because that was easy start and you must start somewhere and sometimes when problem is little you are able to fix it but this time is different and my knowledge and you tube is not enough that's why I asking you guys to help me in this difficult moment.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Best regards
Kabak
I can completely understand your frustration. Since we don't have a forum for your device, may I suggest posting your query in
Android Development and Hacking > Android General ? One of the Experts there will love to help you. Make sure to include your android version when you do so.
You can most certainly get Amazon Appstore installed on the tablet to get you going.
Thank you very much

i ordered the new cubot x9 and today it arrived. it is a very nice phone with a great software and great preinstalled apps. unfortunately i updated the phone and now there are some apps missing. it is very annoying and i have no idea why they are so stupid to remove apps after update. before the update there was an app called "beauty center" where you can change the style of your phone, how the apps look etc. i want this one and the other missing apps back. it is possible without root?
thx for help!
Hi,
The apps are likely simply discontinued and/or not compatible with the new version. Being a less popular device, It may be hard to find the apk's and try to install them.
You could try asking here,

I wanted to know if my phone was hacked.
Yesterday while surfing a site on UC browser I clicked the back button and it directed me to a page which said UC Web Your personal information leaked, Please visit Google Play, I again clicked back and it said Samsung Your personal information could be at risk, download Privacy Lock from Google Play, Again I clicked back and It said security risk Download Zero Launcher.
But inspite of clicking back it did not take me to the site that I was surfing. I had to close the browser.
My phone already had Avast Security downloaded.
Hence I want to know why did I receive this. Is my information leaked?
My friend told me these were just advertisements to be downloaded from Google Play.
Got it confirmed from you people itself yesterday that my phone is safe.
But i did not download anything from that site but I exited the browser and went to Google Play and downloaded Privacy Lock & Zero Launcher from google play.
But again I uninstalled them also now and have secured my phone with CM security.
Is my phone still safe after downloading Privacy Lock & Zero Launcher from google play.

Good luck!
I bought a new phone a few days ago (Huawei Y6) and I can't seem to enable Google Now on it because my account is not "eligible". Which is not the case since I have a Lenovo (Android 5.0) tablet that showed me the same problem, but I was able to turn on Google Now with a few simple steps.
The normal procedure I use to enable it that I uninstall updates to google play services, disable the app, remove my google account, log back in and I'll get the offer to opt into google now.
But, on this phone (running Android 5.1.1) I can neither disable google play services after uninstalling its updates nor can I remove my current google account because it's not allowing me.
Can anyone help me out? I think by doing a factory reset I could do it by not logging in straight away during set-up but I'd like that to be a final option.

When i go in google settings ->Search and Now ->Voice -> OK google detection , the only option available is from the google app, but the "retrain voice model" and "from any screen" option is not there(its not grayed out, its just not there), even though i had the option there before. A few days back i had cleared the play store data and used a vpn to install Pokemon go , idk if that messed it up or something but yea .So yea any ideas on why this is happening ?
