i ordered the new cubot x9 and today it arrived. it is a very nice phone with a great software and great preinstalled apps. unfortunately i updated the phone and now there are some apps missing. it is very annoying and i have no idea why they are so stupid to remove apps after update. before the update there was an app called "beauty center" where you can change the style of your phone, how the apps look etc. i want this one and the other missing apps back. it is possible without root?
thx for help!
Hi,
The apps are likely simply discontinued and/or not compatible with the new version. Being a less popular device, It may be hard to find the apk's and try to install them.
You could try asking here,

Or you can try asking for help here,

Hi guys
I'm asking you for HELP because I lost hope how to fix my problem with my new Asus Zenfone 5 on my own. I bought phone from China - Spemall.com (good and safe website). Phone is brilliant and very well made all is perfect except one thing - it was no play store installed. All other phones and tablets from them had play store installed this is first time when I had device without it.
I have this phone for two days now I was trying almost everything (in my opinion everything) to install both first Google Play Services and after that Play Store.
I downloaded both latest versions apk and first installed services and after play store but when trying to tap in play store icon all what I getting is
---Unfortunately Google play services has stopped.
I was cleaning data, cache, reinstalling both apps and even I did few times factory reset but nothing. I was still getting famous massage --- Unfortunately Google play services has stopped. Whatever I press Google settings or play store it will always end up in this same way.
Phone is not rooted!!!
I was using guides from you tube because that was easy start and you must start somewhere and sometimes when problem is little you are able to fix it but this time is different and my knowledge and you tube is not enough that's why I asking you guys to help me in this difficult moment.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Best regards
Kabak
I can completely understand your frustration. Since we don't have a forum for your device, may I suggest posting your query in
Android Development and Hacking > Android General ? One of the Experts there will love to help you. Make sure to include your android version when you do so.
You can most certainly get Amazon Appstore installed on the tablet to get you going.
Thank you very much

I recently rooted my android phone. Today, i was using my phone and suddenly i see a notification in the status bar. It said, "Secret video recorder has been installed" - a notification seen when any app is installed from the play store. This sent a chill down my spine.
- is it possible that my phone has been hacked. And someone is controlling it
- Has my phone security been compromised
- I also though, may be my google account password has been leaked. And someone simple installed the app from the web play store using my account.
Can anyone please suggest, what exactly might have happened. I have uninstalled that app and also searched my app list for any potential malware. I also wanted to know about the security vulnerabilities which come with rooting a phone. I am very worried about my data.
Hi,
I'm sorry but I don't find anything about your problem, so you must start asking in one of this Q&A forum:

Thread closed, thank you.
I got sick of Google Play updating and pushing updates of Google Play Services (i'm limited on data) to my phone, so I read that uninstalling and reinstalling a modded version (yes i'm aware this modded store is used by many to pirate, but don't flag me for mentioning it. I just need to save data). Problem is, now none of my in-app purchases register with Google Play. :/ Is there a way to get these working again AND avoid my data getting sucked down by Play and Services updates? Using a Sony Xperia Z1S on 4.2, and a Huawei Ascend Mate 2 on 4.2 (both have the modded Play store and they share data via the wifi hotspot from my Huawei).
Hi there,
I'm sorry but we can help you with this problem if you Google Play isn't official. The only way to find a solution is to ask the developer of that modded market from where you are installed.
Or ask in the forum bellow :

Hello All,
First post here on this great community. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I gave my little brother my old Xperia phone to play around with. Long story short...he deleted chrome entirely with one of the app delete programs on the play store. He was trying to speed it up as its only a 1 gig ram phone. He might have deleted some crucial system apps with it but I don't know because I did a factory reset which didn't bring chrome back. Was able to get Firefox synced but chrome isn't even an option under accounts sync. Problem is I can't use the play store as it only opens and crashes. I was finally able to put chrome 38 on it but anything higher crashes or says missing crucial system settings. He didn't realize he still needed chrome for everything to function right on android. Is there anything i can download to restord the full chrome, google play functionality. I fried to update play apks but it either has a parsing error or crashes upon opening. Btw its ics 4.04. Thanks in advance for any help.

I rooted my Lenovo K3 Note which I bought in China.
After I rooted it, I proceeded to uninstall annoying and useless apps, uninstalling -unintentionally- also the native "Contacts" (or whatever its name in Chinese) app. Now, even though I have downloaded phone book apps like Contacts Pro or Contacts, there is no way I can add, edit, or delete contacts on my phone. I only get the messages "not installed application" or "unimplemented option". Therefore I guess I need some "bridge" application to allow Contacts Pro to work, or the native Lenovo application for contacts.
Having searched everywhere I cannot find the native application to download or a solution to my problem [Restore to factory is my very very last option since I have so many things already installed, pictures, etc...]. Also, the dedicated Lenovo site for the phone seems to be only in Chinese.
I very much appreciate the kind help of the community, and sorry if this question is misplaced, I have tried my best to place it in the right section.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
If your device gets any OTA updates, you should be able to extract the Contacts apk from the zip, and put back in your /system/app folder.
At any rate, please go ahead and create an XDA account. Unfortunately your device does not yet have a forum, (but it is tagged under "find your device"). In this case, I would suggest adding a post in the > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Q&A] [OFFICIAL THREAD] Lenovo K3 NOTE [CWM/ROOT] thread, where it will grab the attention of your device experts.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
