[Q] OTG Cable - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi all,
I've searched on the forum if our device supports otg but it's not clear, and posts are a bit old.
so..
is otg functioning? i've found this on amazon, specific to our device!
(sorry i can't post links)
amazon dot com:
Micro-USB-Data-Transfer-connecting-compatible-Accessory / dp/ 1059960532
my intention is to transform my sl in a low power server, but i need to plug an hd in order to have more space ( it's not a good pratice to have a lot of read and write on a sd, so buying a large microsd is not an option)
thanks in advance!

[Q] How to connect a PenDrive to motorola atrix 2 [MB865]

I need to connect my pen drive to Motorola Atrix 2. I have tried getting the OTG cable , but it does not detect it, I assume that the 5 Volt requirement is not met as the USB never lights up as it always should.
I would like to know whether it is possible to achieve the same with a Micro USB hub ( http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/613308120/3_port_usb_hub_for_micro_USB.jpg )
The connection is like USB male port connected to the charger/laptop and micro usb to the phone while Pen Drives to the female port.
Has anyone done this before? If it is not possible is there any other way?
There is already a thread for this, right here in the Q&A section. I found it within seconds of reading this. If I can find it, you can too. Please search and read before posting questions that have already been answered. Also read the forum rules found here:

Note, rule number 1, search before posting.

[Q] Connecting external HDD to android device

hey guys. i have external HDD which is over 500GB and i want it to connect to my xperia mini pro (rooted and bootloader is locked) i have searched the net and i found and about the OTG cable however i also read that you need power the HDD and phone is not enough to do it alone. I have researched that you would need external power supply. My question is what can i possibly use. i would prefer to buy some adapter/cable if something similar exists rather than experiment to make it myself.

[Q] USB Host on Custom ROMS?

Hey Team
I'm new to XDA and have read the forum rules; I searched for ages before posting this but came up with nothing relevant.
I have flashed VirginRom 4.3 onto my Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 IOT save battery for reasons mentioned below. Unfortunately; I am unable to mount an external hard drive onto my S4 using a USB OTG cable (does not recognise anything is attached). I believe this is because either my ROM or Kernel is not compatible with USB Hosting. My question is:
Is there a way for us to know what custom ROMS and/or kernels are compatible with USB host (which I consider to be a massive feature), and if so, which one is the most streamlined? I ask because:
Background: I'm in the Army and need a phone with good reception, battery life and storage capacity (size is not an issue). I have an external antenna, battery and 1GB hard drive (connected in parallel with ghetto cable) that I intend to hold together with a 1.8mm aluminium bracket coated in plasti-dip. I have Catia renders (CAD images) is there is interest.
Regards
Jess
Update
I have flashed to CryanogenMOD 10.2 which states that it has USB host support. I have tried both stickmount and Paragon but neither recognize any mounts.

[Q] OTG + Charging + Audio

Hi Everyone!
So i've being looking for a diagram or something that might be as helpful for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100.
Would be great to use one cable for charging otg and sound
i've seen some threads for 10.1 and p1000 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155065
i've seen some for tab 7 with similar info
pinout info is generally the same for all the tabs.
so the question is : who can help me, and i guess a lot of other people with this ))
Make this world a better place by helping me to integrate this tablet into my car
Cheers
G.
How did you get on with this. I have a similar project
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
well, i've done it without the audio(have not tried it yet) i'm trying to find a breakout board somewhere in europe and try it again.
I've used the thread called make your own cables. just search for it here o the forum.
one thing i want to add is that for whatever reason the flash drive would not remount with the setup that i had if you reboot the tablet while flash drive is plugged in and on some other occasions as well.
once ill find the board ill try it again and with audio (u need the board cos the standard sync cable does not have all the pins in it (( )
atm i simply charge normally and use SD card extender cable and SD card for storage
