Just a suggestion but put your post in the initial thread, I know it's an attempt at keeping the threads clean but this Q&A thing has gotten a little out of hand
From my CM11 S3

Well, tried, then it said you must have posts etc and automatically
directed me here, otherwise I totally would have, just love miui and want texting abilities

I hear ya. I'd post there anyways. That's just me though. And yea MIUI is pretty sweet
@coryj8915 it's merely because you don't have 10 or more Posts
From my CM11 S3

So of i dont have anything else to post on? I mean I guess I understand why it maybe that way, but I've no need to make 7 more Posts and just would like to get a fix or a direction and have other people with the same problem potentially find a problem as well.

Haptic level
Hi, I just upgraded to the 4.4 SCH i535 miui rom and can't find the option to decrease vibration strength for haptic. It used to be in the settings under advanced, but it's not there anymore, only the option to turn it on or off via sound menu. Is there another way to do this, or a WSM module? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything on this particular rom. Thanks!

Has anyone had issues with the alarm app force closing when trying to change alarm frequency in the latest update?

Wanted to try something else for a change on my S III and I am getting insufficient storage when installing certain root apps. Anyone know a fix for this?

Device Control in play store or KTweaker app either one will do the job

Not sure if this works in MIUI as I haven't ran this in a couple weeks. It was a nice rom though, I always did like MIUI especially the specialty MIUI built in apps..
Anyway, Device Control I'm 90 percent certain lets you adjust haptic feedback. I usually set mine to around 10 percent. The test button never works for me but when you hit okay, you can feel the difference.. There's a ton of other cool settings in there too. And it's free.
Also, if you use the KToonz Kernel, the KTweaker app also has the option somewhere in there to adjust the haptic feedback.
Hope this helps I know I may be late to the table, but maybe someone can make use of this information.

Corrupt KT747 Kernel
Greetings all. I was directed to this thread by the developer. So heres my issue:
I'm on SGS3 vzw. I installed MIUI 4.8.22 using TWRP (newest version). I cleared delvik, cache, factory reset thrice, flashed MIUI, then flashed gapps, then I flashed the cdma fix (I assumed that I needed it). I am unable to start a Xiomi cloud account and when I tried to flash the KT aosp 4.4.4 kernel, I got a "file corrupted" message. Is there an updated KT747 somewhere, or am I trying to install the wrong kernel or what? I would appreciate any help on the matter....BTW.....I really like the look of MIUI. I may keep it!

What Baseband to use?
I have a verizon SCH-I535 currently using VRUCML1 Baseband, running Android 4.4.4 and the phone is unlocked. Is there a newer baseband for this phone or should I continue using the currrent baseband? I haven't really found any topics that answer my question.
Thank You

Yep, Miui on this phone would be ideal.
pretty sure you're going to have to give it a while
the phone was just released yesterday 15th
let alot of people grab hold of the phone
whoever had a captivate will most likely jump to this
but lets let people get dumps and good stuff going for it first
usually samsung hardware is harder to mod like captivate and vibrants...
what roms are currently supporting the infuse 4g?
Anyone working on a custom ROM
Anyone working on a custom ROM for the Samsung Infuse?
guys remember that this is not exactly a galaxy s. att and samsung make that clear that it is in no way branded as a galaxy s and it has enough differences to prevent a direct port untill at minimum sources are released. now i agree miui would be cool but there is no need for a dev thread on this. this belongs in q/a as there is no development offered in the thread. it took many months to get close to a miui port on the sgs and we dont know if we can boot this phone off a sgs kernel. hopefully the ui can be ported to a samsung base rom with full functionality, there was a similar project for the fascinate but it was not 100% functional. if that is not posible then as soon as the cyanogenmod team or others get a aosp kernel then a similar port to the one on the sgs can be made.

the stock one. root it, install busybox and use adb or an ssh app to get system access and mod away! not much real development can be done untill sources are available
Source is already available.

in th3bill's miui I cannot receive phone calls. someone else had the same problem, but I never saw a solution or if they just gave up.
is everyone else running this rom not having an issue with this?
thanks

I'm coming from Shock and Awe miui, where everything was working fine
When I flashed V4 the recovery screen got all garbled at the top
my flash process was: factory data reset, wipe cache, wipe davlic, flash, reboot
without installing any apps or changing the theme, still no incoming calls

Google Hangouts Call Wrong Mic
I have the latest nightly of this rom, and recently tried to use data calling over google voice with google hangouts. It works fine, except it seems to be using the incorrect microphone (the top one). I'm not sure if this is an app issue, or a rom issue so I am reporting the problem both here, and to google hangouts.
I want to run the most stable version of cm. Any recommendation?
Anyone else having the stretched front facing camera issue in Snapchat again? Haven't tested the normal camera, and its too dark right now.
I remember it was worse of an issue several months ago and got fixed, but its back for me.

Honestly theres no 100% stable version of CM.
But even the nightlies do a great job of getting pretty close. I'd honestly say just do a clean install of the latest nightly and go from there. If its not stable enough, go for one of the M releases
avoid M8 (or M9?), one of those had some pretty big issues.

also having hangouts use top mic
I have the same problem as @jfarre20 and i can confirm its not an app problem. This issue has been around since i first used CM over a year now. Its also in skype and others. I hope it can be fixed soon
First things first, I want to say thanks to Invisiblek. I've been out of the root/rom loop for quite some time and have recently been getting back into it. However, I remember all of the great things that you did for the HTC Incredible. I still have that phone (I keep every phone that I've ever owned) and if I need it as a backup for any reason, it still works like a champ. I'm glad to see that you are still continuing to do great things in this community. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you and your work.
Now, for my issue. I was using Wicked Sensations and my phone was running fine. Now that Wicked Sensations isn't really being maintained anymore, I decided to move onto something else. I chose to try CyanogenMod as I remember it being the most reliable rom on the Incredible. I installed CM11 and have of course had issues with the things that everyone knows is broken, i.e. camera, etc. My biggest issue is that I have noticed that my battery life has taken a pretty big dip and my phone gets very hot at times, especially when playing games. I reinstalled Wicked Sensations and no longer had the overheating issue. I believe the battery drain may be related to the overheating. Is there anything that I can do to control this overheating issue?
I recently sold my s3 and the buyer claims to have issues with GPS. I shipped the phone running this ROM. Does this rom have any history of GPS issue?
Verizon 4.4.2 Rooted
So i realize this question has likely been answered however this thread is 400+ pages long. I am running 4.4.2 on my Verizon Samsung SG3. Locked bootloader and rooted. I am able to launch the Android Recovery KOT49H.I535VRUDNE1. I have been unsuccessful in flashing a custom recovery thus far. Will i be able to flash a custom rom using the recovery already on the phone or will i brick the device and be sent unbricking it with Odin again? I have simply had it with the performance of the stock rom and have found changing it on this phone to be challenging. In addition to all i have read on various forums about the difficulty or flat out inability to do anything with a SG3 once it has received the OTA 4.4.2 update.

You cannot run a custom recovery on the locked bootloader. I wouldn't even attempt to try it with a very good possibility of bricking the phone

While I realize safe strap is a work around I will say this. The Rom I am running now is way smoother. I am glad that I used it and my phone seems to have new life. I am limited to the one Rom available but nonetheless it is stripped of bloat, cleaner and faster. I would recommend this option to anyone wanting to speed up their $3 with a locked boatloader. Thanks again for your input.

Also I should mention I installed it on the stock Rom partition. It was an added risk versus running it on its own partition but install was successful. It is a SUPERLITEROM! V3.0 1535VRUDNE1 DEODEXED. It is simply a variant of my stock but it does truly run faster, scroll smoother etc.
So the Internet is a-buzz with Stagefright news. I presume CM11 and 12 are both vulnerable to this exploit too. (Are they?) Is there a timeline on incorporating the AOSP fixes Google pushed out to secure out devices? Thank you

It applies to all devices running 2.2 or later as far as a fix I'd keep my eyes open. There may be a carrier fix but I wouldn't take any OTA ever! With root I'm damn near certain you can block apps from having certain permissions

i like this rom only had a few problems but after a reboot seams to be working good again
I have the weirdest thing happening. I'm on stable 7 and have been for quite a while. It's worked perfectly until a couple days ago and now I can't send text messages out. I think I can receive OK. Just can't send out. I've even tried doing a clean install of this and other ROMs with same result. It gets more odd... After toying with it I can send only one text out. Just one to any person. But I can't send another unless I reboot or I think wait a few hours. Upon reboot I again can send only one text message out. And so on. I have no clue what could be happening. Any ideas?

I used to use the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod with my previous version and that worked, however, this does not appear to work in this rom. I noticed there was a built in Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, which does work perfectly. I would like to use this but am just concerned that somehow VZ would know I am tethering and I would incur additional charges. Do I have anything to worry about or am I just being paranoid?
Thank you for a GREAT product, it's a spectacular rom.

Google Play Services not Installed
Just did a dirty flash of 9 stable over 7 stable flashed the latest gapps, and now the Google play store does not work and a bunch of apps are requesting the install of Google Play Services.
Any tips?

You could try clearing data for the Play Store. I always encourage a clean flash (wipe data and system) before each new release.

Any updates on that "further notice"?

Always loved your Roms..... Should I dirty flash or is it ok to do a full wipe? I tried another Rom and it only worked if i dirty flashed.

Typo... I meant NJL TMOBILE
The Lab Rats ROM instructions say This is based off of NJL TMOBILE ONLY - do not flash if upgraded to newest firmware!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/rom-915t-tmobile-12-3-t2961773
I can't post in that thread though because I don't have 10 posts yet.

NJL is the older version before the new update that just came out which is NK3. I'm sure the Dev will update his Rom to work with NK3 soon. just keep an eye on the OP page.

I noticed with the update, my edge screen is now black instead of clear. Is there any way to change it?

I was wondering the same thing; after installing this rom I noticed that the edge screen panel lost its transparency. I am sure this can only be fixed in a future rom update if the developer chooses to do so.

Well I guess we'll just keep wondering. Especially if we're waiting for an answer on this underutilized Q&A Forum.

It's inverted and was coded to be like that. It will be changed in an update to add transparency to it.

You literally posted your previous question twelve hours before. Not to be "that guy", but a lot of people have lives outside of forums. Why not just create a Nandroid, dirty flash it, and post your results?

For the record I was not really referring to how long it takes to answer my question, as I work in the Technology field, I'm at work and also have a life. I was referring to the underutilization of Q&As in general. As its quicker to get an answer, feedback or open discussion on the development forum but posts are ADMIN Noted and pushed here. I noticed it's much more strictly enforced on some phone forums but say for a S5 it's tons of Q&A discussions right in the development forum itself for a particular Rom. Which is cool because it's more traffic. I don't personally care which one I use but.... Seems like Q&A Forums are trolled by some people who may or may not be more knowledgeable about a certain subject than another and can't wait to chime in with an answer like "You literally posted your previous question twelve hours before. Well it is a valid response from someone that is running the rom. Your posted results could have helped someone else out instead of writing a novel. Do what you do though.

No arguments here. I'm running the Rom. My question was about the edge transparency but I think you referenced my previous question about whether to dirty flash or not. Which was answered privately. Just a misunderstanding. The way some device forums are treated differently than others are frustrating though. Be Well
lab rats rom miracast!!
I am thinking of trying this rom, but I have a question. Would using this rom break miracast capability. The phone usually checks itself to see if the rom is official, does using this rom bypasses this. I use the feature everyday, and would hate to lose it. back in the note 2 days we would have to use triangle away to fool the system into thinking it was official.

Yeah I didn't even wipe dalvik/cache. I was coming straight off of stock NK3. It's been running smoothly. The only thing i need to do now is skin 3minit to match the rest of the rom. The colors stick out like a sore thumb.

I don't use miracast, but screen mirroring still works between my Note Edge and my Samsung TV. If I could test miracast I would. I thought the miracast issue was broken because of a custom kernel?

If you don't do a full wipe when installing LabRats you will not get the full functionality of the rom.
This is my concern if it changes this to modified it will not work.

What won't work?
Sorry we were speaking about miracast.
There is a delay after pressing home button and screen turning on. Anyway to fix this?

Stable S6 ROM

I am new to rooting and flashing custom ROMS. I have an AT&T Galaxy S6 and I want to know what's the cleanest and most stable way I can root this device and install a custom ROM? I have been having issues since I received an over the air update from AT&T, and even when I reboot my phone to factory settings that update still gets pushed through. So my choice now is get a new phone or try a custom ROM and see if that helps.

In the S6 General section. I believe this is probably your best bet in terms of ROM's, slap Hacker Kernel on the side and enjoy many battery benefits too!
where is hacker kernel

Due respect, aren't we here to help?
Instead of saying it that way, why don't you guide him through, everyone needed help at the beginning, and you are not an exception.
I have been using the ROM someone linked above (xtrestolite 3.3.1) since I got the phone used several months ago. It's been nearly flawless, almost no lag at all, battery life much better than stock. I tried a couple other roms and had issues almost immediately so I went back to this. I'm sticking with it until after custom roms based on the nougat update come out, so several more months likely.
You can use alexis rom it's very good.with pretty handy feature s like clock position in status bar, network speed indicator, touchwiz launcher gestures etc..

Indeed, you're right in every word you said but to be honest, I was going to message him to help him but something disturbed me and I forgot about the whole case. Apparently, everyday users post something like that, asking for the "best ROM and kernel", I just got tired seeing those posts, in fact, it's the first time I reply to this kind of post. With all my respect, thanks for clarifying your point and opinion.
