Hey guys,
I just got my Note PRO 12.2 (P900, EU) last week and bought the corresponding cover for it (http://www.amazon.de/Supremery-Samsung-Galaxy-Tasche-Tablet-PC/dp/B00JFRNEL6/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t).
While the article description states it should have the function to auto wake/sleep my device, this doesn't work. While a friend of mine got a Note 10.1 2014 with the same case (in the corresponding size, duh.) and the function is working. I also tried to hold his smaller case near the "Samsung" Logo and all other edges, but nothing worked.
Now the question would be: I'm sure there is no option so that it's turned off, right? Is the case faulty or is there any chance I have to send back my device? Also I'm running the Stock ROM with the newest update that I got yesterday.
Edit: Just got a new thought: I don't own the 905, so therefore there is no proximity sensor on my device.. Or is it working magnetically with all those "smart covers"?
Magnetic sensor . . about 1.5 inches to the right of the G in the Samsung logo at the top, and about 0.75 inches below the G.
Try it with another magnet and see if you can get things to work. As far as I know the only case/cover related settings are found in Settings - General - Accessory - Book Cover. On my tablet there is no setting to disable the magnetic sensor however.

I googled and couldn't find any information. My CDMA Touch Pro and my CDMA Diamond both have the stylus sensor, however I can't tell if my newly acquired Fuze has one.
With the CDMA Touch pro, you can actually see a little switch that springs out when the stylus is pulled out. The CDMA Diamond's switch is hidden. I looked at the Fuze and I can't see a switch.
Thanks.
My stylus sensor is physically broken. Has anyone replaced this switch before? Know where to get a spare part?
Stylus Sensor
Yes, the Fuze does have a stylus sensor which would explain the ability for it to turn on from stylus removal and ability to launch the notes application during a call. The sensor is somewhat a little switch, remove the stylus from its silo, take a flashlight/led light and shine it into the silo and you will clearly see a little switch, which I believe should be the sensor.
When I remove my stylus during a call, despite that feature being enabled, the notpad never opens. This is what initially led me to wonder if the Fuze has a sensor at all. I guess mine may be broken.
I took a look down the silo and can't see anything that looks like the switch I see in my cdma touch pro or diamond. Can another Fuze user please tell me how far away form the bottom of the phone the switch is located?
NVM, I found it. It's on the right side of the silo wall with the screen facing down about 2 cm in.
It helps if you slide the battery cover off. The switch is located just below where the battery cover meets the case.
The switch breaks very easily. If you've ever forced the stylus into the silo, you've more than likely broken the switch.
Yes, I examined my silo very carefully and I found the spot where the switch is supposed to be, however it seems it has broken off.
Has anyone ever replaced this sensor?
my is broken too. so I bumping tread
Mine broke the evening I first tried my new Raphael.
I remember a very tiny thingie dropped on the floor but when only 30min later I realized that must have been the notch that operates the switch it was gone.
You can send in your Raphael for warranty but I did not do that as I did not find the hassle (phone gne for 3 weeks at least) to weight against the pro's (working switch).
HTC did not want to ship me a spare notch to fiddle in myself 9wich would be te best/cheapest solution for all.
Stylus Lock
This is the stylus lock switch, see red circled in attached picture.
I think its rather very hard to de-solder & re-solder it.
Recently i lost my Touch - Pro ( MB gone) & i am selling working part for helping others.
If you people are interested i can give you the complete IO part & no need to replace switch.

Hi!
I looking a new cover without magetic because it does not work this tablet. Any options?
Problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/nexus-9-cover-problem-t2978669
Will in the video the problem was very clear
when you use the case the screen lock itself after you have unlocked it
i think that this case was just badly made
and they put the magnet in the wrong place
so i think you should go for case that have batter reviews

For whatever reason my stylus doesn't want to work with my original shield tablet. It works fine with my k1 though. It doesn't recognize when I remove it from its holder and it doesn't register on screen unless I apply a good amount of pressure. The screen registers my finger just fine though. I've had it apart to swap the guts (board and battery) from my bricked tablet to the replacement tablet after the replacements screen was cracked but the issue was present before that and I hooked everything back up correctly. The stylus worked fine on the donor tablet whose body and screen the guts are now in, before it was bricked through the ota. Could it be a possible hardware failure and if so what part would it be so that I can swap it back over from my donor tablet?
Now what really blows my mind is that the stylus also works with my galaxy s4 just fine oddly enough but still doesn't work with my original shield tablet
So I recalibrated the screen and now my stylus is working again. Will try to repair the sensor and see how that goes, it anyone else has had sensor issues please let me know if there is a software fix of some sort, last resort I will attempt to replace the sensor ribbon.
All - My S3 got wet and went into a bootloop. I sent it to Samsung and they sent it back without fixing it claiming that it was too expensive to fix. It is up to me to fix it myself.
I managed to resolve the bootloop problem by opening it up and letting it air out. (see other thread for details)
Question - the only problem I have now is that when I rotate the bezel, it doesn't register anything on the watch. The connector/ sensor seems to be dead.
Anyone know how I could fix this? Do I need a new entire display unit (Samsung Gear S3 frontier (SM-R760) Display unit complete grey GH97-19658A) or is there something else I should try? A part to replace?
I did take off the bezel and I cleaned it. (did it very carefully as there are pieces that can be easily lost)
The watch works well and I can do almost everything without the bezel working but would like to get it working to 100%.
Thanks for any ideas people may have.
Same problem
same problem on my Galaxy Watch. Any update on how to fix?

I took mine apart again hoping I could get the bezel to work but no luck.
I assume the sensor connects to the top part of the watch. There are two connecters that attach to the main part of the watch, a big one and a much smaller one. Perhaps the smaller connector is the problem.
Not a super big deal but I would love to get my watch working at 100%.
Any Samsung techs with an idea?
I figured out that my problem was just that I was wearing a watch band with a magnetic clasp. If the magnet was too close to the watch, but bezel wouldn't work. If I switched bands everything was fine.

You sneaky son of a gun. That worked.
For what it's worth: the bezel sensor is a set of 3 hall effect sensors. If you take the bezel ring off the watch (various youtube guides show how) and look at the underside, you'll see 24 indents and 8 of these (1 in 3) will be a different color. If your watch isn't registering anything, these magnetic spots may be de-magnetized.
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+Watch+Teardown/117519 <-- explained here (see step 15 ... and if you look closely at the bottom right of step 8 first picture you can see the 3 hall effect sensors in place)
On my watch it sometimes didn't register the bezel turning. I thought it might just be gummed up. I eventually noticed that it would miss 3 "clicks" in every rotation.
Now I finally understand why: one (only one of eight magnets) has become de-magnetized and the hall effect sensor won't read it as it passes across.
Now I just need to work out how to re-magnetize the one spot.

I have tried some phones (I use HTC U Ultra, checked it with Nokia 8 also) and there is huge problem with waking up.
Despite using knock/double tap function to wake up phone it very very rarely works. At first I thought there is problem with film protector in my phone case.
I use bike dust proof case for my phone and would like to easily check map in phone. I have bought 3 different cases. I have bought 3 waterproof cases for kayaking. Nothing really changed.
Now I suspect that there is problem with android and it blocks waking up when proximity sensor is covered (and it always is when in case).
Then I've came up with NFC unlocking but these idiots killed it in 2017.
Searched (almost) whole internet and was shocked nobody has problem with this scenario. How people use phones then ? Am I missing something?
How to wake up phone in this case ?
