MMS APNs? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

For some reason if I'm on wifi MMS doesn't download and even when I'm off of it and on LTE it doesn't download. I'm almost certain I have all of the Verizon APNs but something is telling me I don't. Can someone post the MMS APNs? I'm on Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 5

I was having those issues a few weeks ago too, but on a different ROM. I don't know what fixed it, unfortunately.
Are you using your main VZW number or a Google Voice number? What firmware & modem are you using?

Main VZW number. As for modem I'm assuming you mean baseband, which is I535VRBMF1.

The rest of the firmware is probably MF1 as well then.
You can always try upgrading your modem (only modem, not firmware) to ML1 or NE1. If you have an ad blocker installed, unblock and uninstall. That's been reported to get in the way of MMS sometimes.
I just saw this APN.xml posted in another thread. It's for VZW.

So just flash the ML1 modem zip at the bottom of this post(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29134924)?

That'll bump your modem up to ML1 which was taken from the locked-bootloader Android 4.3-based firmware. If you want to take it a step further, you can download the NE1 modem, which was taken from the locked-bootloader Android 4.4.2-based firmware. It seems like each phone responds a little differently. Some people say stick with ML1, some prefer NE1. Personally, I don't notice much of a difference except with NE1, it seems to stay in 3G more when coverage is low, before jumping back to 4G. I would guess it does that to save battery by sticking to the strongest signal.

I337 ATT MODEMS: OC3 NJ4 NI1 NC1 NB1 FMLD MK2 MJ9 MJ6 MF3 MDL MDB Modems

UPDATED 4-08-2015 with NEW ATT MODEM OC3 5.0.1 Modem
A NOTE TO CLARIFY MODEMS AND FLASHING THEM: Your Modem is your BASEBAND. Flashing a Modem will UPDATE your BASEBAND.
Flashing a Modem and Updating your BASEBAND does NOT change or lock down your bootloader at all/any further than it already is.
The BOOTLOADER is what determines how locked down your phone is and WHICH root/recovery method can be used.
IF you are on MDB or MDL BOOTLOADERS then flashing these modems will NOT effect your ability to flash anything or change your bootloader.
If you are on MF3 or Newer bootloader then you can use SAFESTRAP to have its recovery and flash compatible Roms AND these modems.
If you are on MK2 bootloader you can use MK2's version of Safestrap and flash compatible Roms and Any of these modems.
To VERIFY "WHICH BOOTLOADER" you have on your phone you can follow these basic instructions.
1. Get "Terminal Emulator" from the play store.
2. Open Terminal Emulator and then type "su" without the quotation marks.
3. Hit the "x" and close Terminal Emulator once you have granted it Root Permission
4. Open Terminal Emulator app, type "su" without the quotes
5. Type getprop ro.bootloader
6. Look at the first line that shows up which is the installed bootloader. It should read "something like"
I337UCUAMDB/ I337UCUAMDL/ I337***MK2/ etc. etc.
I have put the other ATT Modems here as well for users to find the ATT specific modems in one place or in case you need/want to go back to your previous modem. Flashable in CWM/TWRP Recoveries.

FOR SAFESTRAP MF3 and NEWER USERS
This is what a tester DeadlySin9 did. He flashed the MJ6 Modem and it worked fine. He then tested going back to the MF3 modem. So if your signal becomes worse you CAN flash back to MF3 Modem but IF you have problems you may need to follow his advice below. You can see his comments here:
DeadlySin9 said:
Baseband is back on MF3 after flashing. Interestingly enough it's booted into stock and safestrap isn't loading. SuperSU is loaded and giving toast notifications and even let me grant to TiBu. Will try reinstalling SS and/or rerooting and see what works.
Back into my Safestrap slot, modem stuck across reboot. Rerooting was necessary, although root wasn't lost (go figure). Data and service are enabled just fine. Will try going back to MJ6 modem

Please use at your OWN RISK and KNOW WHAT your doing and WHEN to use these to save your phones life. PLEASE do your research before using these to flash with Odin. They CAN ruin your device if used wrong or use the wrong one.

In my experience modems can be better or worse. It all depends on where your located in the country. What works good for one person may not work good for another. The choice of having more modems to flash can increase or decrease your data speeds/call quality.
It does not hurt to try out modems and find which one works best for you in your particular region.
You can always flash back just as easy with the exact same modem you had if it doesn't work better for you.

I believe this will also help out with all the ATT users getting data drops on 4.3 with earlier modems. Trying this out now with echoe rom

[Q] Keep losing network connectivity

I have a Verizon GS3 and had Clean Rom 6 installed for over a year with no problems. Last week I decided to flash to Clean Rom 8 and often during the day at random times I'd all of a sudden have no network coverage - 1x, 3g, or 4g. The only thing that would get it back was putting it in Airplane mode and then taking it out. I wasn't sure if it was the Rom so I flashed today to the SlimKat Rom based off of Kit Kat and i'm having the same problems. Is there something with my radio/antenna that i needed to do as well? Like i said i had zero problems with this before I moved to a new Rom last week.
Thanks

What rom/modem has the best reception now?

I'm running SlimRom 1.9 (AOSP 4.3 not KitKat) with the MF1 modem. I live in an area with somewhat poor reception, so data speeds are very low in my apartment. But recently I've been getting too many dropped calls, nearly every call has problems.
What are my best options at this point?
1. update to ML1 modem (not firmware) and keep using AOSP
2. switch to 4.3 TW rom and ML1
Any other things to try?

[Q] carbonROM baseband modem help

Can anyone please tell me whether CM-based ROMs like Carbon automatically update your baseband modem? I'm currently running the 5/15 nightly with ML1 modem and am wondering if I need to update my modem? Yesterday my radio system started acting really odd - my data connection completely dropped out for about an hour. When it came back I could only get 1x or 3G connections, but no 4GLTE. I am pretty sure it isn't location related, I generally get a good connection in the city (Portland, OR). All getting slow connection. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ROMs do not change or update your baseband unless you are flashing a full ODIN image or taking an OTA. Modems have to be changed or updated separately and by you when you flash ROMs.
Different modems perform at different levels depending on the individual device and area where you live. Best thing to do is flash different modems, try each one for a few days, and test which one works best for you.

Im on a 337m that I picked up used and was on ne1.
So anyway I gave it a few days on stock- cell n data worked fine. Im actually getting up to 15 mbps on wind, wow. Tried goldfinger rom by ibastid and great but lacking some stuff I was used to like the tw refusing to rotate. Tried hyperdrive and wow feature rich. but I lose signal every now n then or upon a reboot. Like randomly once a day or so, toggling flight mode gets it back instantly. But modem issue yall think? Dont know if there is something I can tweak in ktoonzez
Loosing signal every so often, that's because your on wind network. I used to be o. Wind network as well and had this issue. Went away after switching to Rogers.
Rogers/Fido firmware was also updated last night. Basically they are all the same, though.

Now both Firmware and baseband version show NI2, however WiFi is still disabled and I can not get it to work.
Already tried to to reflash NI2 modem with Odin for a few times, but it does not solve the problem.
Could someone please help me to solve this issue ?
Thanks!

I had the same problem after upgrade. Here is what I did.
Odin the full rom. Downgrade modem following the website:
http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2014/09/To...-and-Note3-Android-4.4.2-NF-or-Later.html?m=1
Root phone with TowelRoot. Install SuperSu and twrp recovery. Odin back NI2 modem. Install a customized kernel. I tested Adam and Alucard working on wifi.
Note: you will probably have to turn off Smart Connect to keep wifi staying. Try it first before you start to Odin the stock firmware.
Good luck.

Thanks! In the end I just backed everything up with Titanium and did hard reset and then restore. Now WiFi works.

All I've read online is that Google Play Services have been updated. And this Play Services update really does a number on the battery life. I haven't installed it yet, can't seem to find much info about this update.
