I have an Irish XT1032 converted to GPE and am running 4.4.4.
It's unrooted, but the bootloader is unlocked.
I have the OTA update downloaded from system update but each time I go to install it, I end up with a status 7 error. Why is this?
Running stock recovery too btw.
What can I do to install 5.0.1?
Thanks guys!
Do you try ti install the GPe ota from sideload and wipe data. the ota is official is not necessary install the ota from sideload if after to install ota get a bootloop on google just flash on fastboot the gpt.bin of kitkat and reboot

So I have XT1032 with Android 4.4.4, build number KXB21.14-L1.40. System version is 210.12.40.falcon_umts.EURetailSL.en.EU.
My phone isn't rooted, bootloader is locked and I don't have custom recovery.
I noticed a lot of people got the update on their european retail phones but I didn't get it so I tried to flash it manually in stock recovery. But when I try to flash 5.0.2 EURetail OTA, it just says "installation aborted" after like 20 seconds. Can anyone help me with this?
Have you updated all apps via the Play Store? I know I had to update some Motorola software before my Telus xt1032 would take the update.
I know it sounds so simple but how do you install a lollipop ROM. I was on lollipop gpe and tried flashing a lollipop ROM and I got status 1 error. I then reset my phone back to KitKat and then upgraded it back to lollipop to try again. Tried to flash another ROM but same thing happened. I have tried multiple recoveries and I am getting the same error every single time. Please help me

have you tried latest version of twrp?
You should be using mfastboot or fastboot commands to flash each partition back to stock, update the Moto apps via Play store, and then run OTA update.

It had the 41.18 bootloader on my phone and only an older version of philz would work properly without giving me mounts errors.
So what I should do is
1. Go to KitKat gpe
2. Update to lollipop via OTA
3. Flash recovery
4. Flash the ROM
Correct me if I'm wrong

Download gpe twrp and then try

Hi,
the title says it all:
How can I apply the 5.0 OTA update on a rooted, unlocked Moto G XT1032 with CWM recovery?
I don't care about root anymore and I have used SuperSU to unroot the phone.
But in order to apply the update I need to install the stock recovery, otherwise the device will get stuck in a bootloop.
How do I do this? I have tried using MotoToolAIO and its "Flash Stock Recovery KitKat" button but get a
Code:
hab check failed for recovery
message every time I try.
Could you guys please tell me how to get the stock recovery installed on this phone? As I said I don't care about losing root and I don't mind relocking the phone if necessary. I would really appreciate any pointers you can give me. Possibly without losing my data & apps. Thank you.
This page apparently is supposed to contain all those stock files but it is broken: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
This manual seems to be helpful for similar cases, it did not help me, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Download the stock 4.4.4 ROM for your phone, extract the recovery.img file, and flash it using fastboot commands.
You also need to be unrooted with the stock Motorola apps.

If you think that solves the proble, well...yes. But where do I find that file? As I indicated the only possible source seems to be unavailable currently. I can't find any other.
Does anyone here have an XT1032 DE singleSIM recovery image lying around?
As I am currently living in South Africa and internet is not reall stable it would be amazing if someone could offer just the recovery file instead of the whole 500-600MB dump.
I have a Canadian xt1032 running stock Telus 4.4.4 firmware. Not sure if that recovery would work but I could find it if you want to try it.
Don't forget to unroot too.
I unrooted too using SuperSU and managed to restore the stock recovery using MotoTool (find it on XDA). These are the basic requirements for installing an OTA. But after the OTA is downloaded and I try to install it, the process starts and in about 10 seconds it displays "Error" and boots to 4.4.4 again. Any recommendations?
^^did you remove any of the stock Motorola apps?
No, and Motorola Update Services is updated to the last version.

I doubt it - and fear what might happen if it goes wrong, to be honest. But thanks a lot for the offer. I was able to locate a Retail package for the DE version and will try to download the whole beast, hoping that the connection is stable for these 3 hours.
Even though nobody answered me, I found out what's going on. Lollipop OTAs cannot be installed on modified devices.
You could try out some custom ROM if you are unable to get the official 4.4.4. Carbon and CM11 are some customs ROMs I know of.
There are great unofficial ROMs on the moto g xda forum too!! Don't forget to have a look.

I'm thinking of Resurrection Remix 5.0.2
You could also check out mokee, crdroid, xperience. And don't forget to check out the ROMs in the forum list

One question man. I have 4.4.4 installed. Do I have to install stock 5.X in order to get lollipop bootloader before installing any ROM?

how did you manage to un-modify your device? I just bought the Moto G (2013) and have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and haven't had any luck installing ANY firmware after 4.4.4.... I'm always getting stuck on the bootlogo and have to return back to stock 4.4.4...

You need to have factory firmware and recovery installed in order to update via OTA.

My Boost Mobile Moto G won't install any ROMs. I had issues running PA 5.1 with the phone locking up so I wiped and tried to install the stock 4.4.4 Rom. In TWRP it says it won't install because the phone is a xt1032. Any idea how to correct this.
I never updated the bootloader, I just edited the 5.1 installer to skip the bootloader check.
