Being a person who is not going to use a smart watch equipped with Bluetooth to be able to have it unlock my phone, I'm now looking in to the possibility of getting an NFC sticker tag and just sticking it to the back of my regular watch. Has anyone done this yet? With the new android L smart unlock feature, how close would you actually have to get the watch to the sticker for it to work, will simply picking the phone up be enough, or will I be messing around trying to tap the correct area to get my unlock?
I have some bits ordered that I'll be trying as they are dirt cheap any way, just interested if anyone has already done it?

I did this with my Wewood watch, it didn't seem to work very well with a metal one, or under a ring either, because that was going to be my next thing, but it just won't work. Right now, I have an NFC tag under my Medic Alert bracelet and it works perfect. NFC you will still have to tap it to the back.
With my watch, I originally have it stuck to the back, I since got NFC keyrings, and put one in acetone until it dissolved, then took the antenna and chip, and put it under the back plate of the watch.
Interesting, thank you... I'm definitely going to be playing with this and will hopefully find a slick solution.

How did this work out for you? I'm wondering what tag/app combo worked. This would be an ideal way to unblock l unlock my phone...

I got the NFC band, but essentially, it was disappointing.... Usable, but not really what I was looking for.
I have since buckled and purchased a Smart Watch - LG G Watch R, so obviously use that for my unlock solution now

Hi all,
Guys i work in a company were camera cell phones are not allowed. However the security guys are not updated on technology they check if there is camera that can be seen visibly. So what iam thinking is if there is a back cover or some case which i can use to hide camera slot. We cannot even use stickers. So is there any such covers or cases already or like made to order sites.
Guys would be glad to hear any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Dont risk losing your job for a cell phone? Get a cheap dumb phone for when your at work.
Yeah, 99% of the phone cases will have cutout for camera, so all I can just say the same as the previous poster. Get some dumb mobile with yourself, and show that instead! Leave the other hidden in your pants!
Must be Patni, crap company.
Join better company.
I thank all you guys. A dumb phone - maybe that is just what i need to do.

If there's such a thing as multi-SIM, I would suggest getting it.
Where I am, there's also restrictions, so got a dumb phone and keep it in the car. When going into the building, I switch off my GS and use the dump phone during office hours.
Same here, i have a duo sim subscription as 2 of our clients and suppliers have no-camera policies. Can't go wrong that way.
Saw this and got curious. Is it possible to get two sims that are the same, so you can have two phones that both get calls and sms'es? Thought it wasn't possible, but would surely be cool if it was.
Just put some fine black tape over the camera and put the back case back over it ? plain and simple
Phone whitout camera
look for a SE C902. have a hidden camera...it`s for you...
Hi
s4 some new smart feature in software and octa core processor in international version also has some smart cases & covers
to see notification maybe
or brief of some info
to work with S health & etc
http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-8900_7-10016135-5.html
Accessories showed up at the unpacked 2013
i don't really understand the smart cover, is it not just a normal cover with a slot cut out of it?
what's smart about it?
EDIT - just watched cnet explaining it. that is quite clever.
but surely the entire screen is switched on behind the cover??
also, in the videos the only way they are able to switch it to s view is by opening the case - doesn't that defeat the purpose?
not released yet but something to work with S-Health & etc
Thats a cool idea. When I first saw it I was like wtf?

maybe works by pressing the power button?
also is it magnetic like the iPad?
It appears to be magnetic but I don't understand how it displays the information without switching on the entire screen, in which case why not have a full screen of info.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 come with an AMOLED display which doesn't need additional backlight
that means that each pixels is emitting it's own light
and when the cover is on only the pixel that's displaying info is on
other pixels are told to be black so it's not using any power....
This means that it will not turn on the entire screen like LCDs and will have better black levels

Well, at least the flip covers and the S View covers will be the same price. I would've bet that the ones with the holes would cost more

right, but anyone who's used NoLED (can find it in the market) can tell you, its not simply about how much of the screen is used or not.. its the wakelock keeping the phone from entering a deep sleep that turns your 10 day standby into a 3 hour standby..
Samsung is clever tho, so I'm sure there's more to it than meets the eye. maybe its a solution to getting a notification and your pocket not bumping the screen keeping it on for an entire hour while you run...

Can't wait for S Bands either, it's a shame that the Jawbone Up things only worked for iOS.
Really interested in the smart cover, the way of working is amazing.
you can preorder the game pad now!!!

Interested in S band and smart cover too. Hope will not be very expensive, S band shouldn't be more than $80. Also hope it's compatible with other devices and brands in case someday I will buy another product too.

All the S band and S scales are an exact copy of the Fitbit accessories which have been around for years and Fitbit announced their band in January. Seems Samsung have finished copying Apple and chosen new targets?
I am not complaining about Samsung but Fitbit have the same products available now which work with ANY android, Ios or other phone why would I buy one that only works with one of Samsung phones?
GamePad seems awesome! It'll take a huge chunk out of potential nvidia project shield sales lol. Same or better processing power, more portable, can be used as a phone. Game pad is dead before its launch.

And of course, two days later Jawbone releases an Android app!
Just purchased the NFC Ring. I know people have complained about it's "sweet spot", but I haven't seen anything lately.
http://store.nfcring.com/
Anyone really using this with the S5? How does it work? What are you using it for?
Thanks,
Do you already have the ring or did you just preorder it? I considered buying one myself as a way to unlock my phone but the sweet spot issue has me concerned.
I have been playing with nfc apps lately and nfc to unlock on my s5 has been incredibly poor.
Got my NFC ring today. I have lockscreen disabled at home and I use mainly fingerpring for authentication but until I get some Android Wear, I will be using it when authenticating using only one hand or when wearing gloves (in winter or on bike, S5 touchscreen works great when wearing gloves). Or when using CyanogenMod which doesn't support fingerprint reader...
Sure, it has its sweet spot and I'm using it only for few hours but it's actually usable pretty well. Unlocking phone in one hand also feels more secure (without fears of dropping phone) than using fingerprint. I picked index finger on my left hand to wear the ring and it really seems that it was the best finger for me to use with S5. So far I don't regret the buy.
Thanks
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback, I'm the guy behind the project and I just wanted to express my gratitude at you guys for supporting it by grabbing a ring and doing cool things with them. Cheers

they ain't the same thing. led cover is always on as long as there are unattended notifications yet the edge screen is on only when the notification is triggered.
Plus, the edge screen is only readable from a limited angle and distance due to its size and position located on the device yet the led cover is more practical as long as it is faced up due to the icon and text size used on it for notifications.
anyways I would like to see such accessories for the most expensive samsung mobile phone ever released.

I totally know they aren't the same thing, but unless you even have the case at the right angle you wont be able to tell either... I feel like it would be redundant to have this, along with the edge, and the led notifications themselves. To much of nothing going on. Hey to each his own I guess. I dont see them making it for our phone, but who knows. Maybe someone else has the information to help you.
that is neat !
i need one to impress the chicks ! hahahaha
but it' not worth 99$ on ebay.

Considering the Edge is now the flagship of samsung considering the hw and the price any (subjectively) cool and compatible accessories should (preferably initially) released to the Edge, imo.
As for the "redundant notifications" statements; well then those who think in such way should never buy a smart watch neither coz their purpose is mainly replicating notifications to wrist.
I use the edge paired with a moto 360 and sony sbh52 and enjoy seeing the notifications everywhere.

I actually don't think the smart watch is redundant. You dont have to pull your phone out of your pocket everytime to see the time. They serve there purpose greatly and it is it's own separate entity that you actually dont have to have the phone for. Thats why I like it. I would like a smart watch actually but cant seem to cough up 300 for one. What does annoy me from time to time is all the notifications. I get the same ones on my tablet as my phone and they are both going off. Cant stand it. The led case to me is like wearing 2 smart watches with both of them doing the exact same thing side by side. One just may be displaying it using a different method. Like I said though to each his own. If you want an led cover then get one. If they ever make it.... Judging by the lack of support or accessories for this phone that is the only reason I say probably not.

Using double-negatives isn't helping your already-weak arguments for something that's incredibly low in demand. You're one of a very few people who want an LED cover, which is why it will likely never be produced. Your thinking is upside down if you believe the price of a device should dictate the extent of accessories available.

I agree stay on topic!! I often ask myself, Why do I need a 7" tab and a 5.6" phone? But heck, to each his own, needed or not. If there is a demand, then someone will make one. So keep asking, go to the manufactures website and ask there too. Get friends to ask also (Even if they don't have the phone) Who knows, they might send you a prototype free to test out and see what the reaction is.
I sent samsung an email about this, hopefully they getback to me

There is no way that will work with our phones the way it's showing... Not have out some sort of custom ROM/software. Save your money, even if it's only a few bucks.
I dont see any chips in the pictures on the inside of case. I kno the s-view cases are auppose to have a chip to activate the s-view, i assume its the same with these so check it out before you buy. I got a note 3 sview last year and it was same advertisement saying it would turn on sview but it didn't have the chip so i got the case free for false advertisement.

Whether it works or not, but why not contact the seller for further info. instead of jumped into conclusion.
You can see from the pictures that the front of the case is just a bunch of holes. Some images imply that there is some sort of LED display, but you can see the rear facing camera hole through the holes in the front of the case.
Honestly, even if they make a LED flip case for our phones I'm not sure I'd get one, unless the magnet is stronger than the one for the current flip case. I've watched too many reviews on it and the flap just falls open too easy. I want something that'll stay shut when the phone is held upside-down. Furthermore, I'd like one that could hold 3 cards in it without it affecting how far the flap closes. Just my magical Christmasland wish though, probably won't happen.
I am not sure why I am having so much trouble removing the straps from the Gear S2 (sport) as I have looked at a couple of videos that make it look easy. I pull back the latch and then tug like hell to get the strap off nearly breaking my thumb, it can sometimes take 2 or 3 minutes. I am also worried that I might break the watch in the process.
Has anyone else had a problem or is it just me? If not maybe you could share a couple of tips on the best way to remove them. I have 3 different colour straps that I am reluctant to use because of this!

You're supposed to push the latches away from the watch and slide the band off easily. You shouldn't have to tug on it at all.

Yeah, pretty much what I do. Pushing the latch away and then trying to slide out the strap. Maybe I am pulling at an angle or something. I don't normally get phased by these sorts of problems but this one is frustrating!

They aren't original, so yes I think you're right. I just put the old ones back on and they are much easier to take off! So hopefully the problem solved. Thanks
I would just keep playing with the locking mech off the watch. You just have to get them "greased" in if you will!
My bands won't come off. They are not the originals because they broke. I have tried everything to get them off. But it's stuck the bottin will go in but the strap will not move. I have even put the watch face down and tried it won't work. What should I do?
