I am not sure why I am having so much trouble removing the straps from the Gear S2 (sport) as I have looked at a couple of videos that make it look easy. I pull back the latch and then tug like hell to get the strap off nearly breaking my thumb, it can sometimes take 2 or 3 minutes. I am also worried that I might break the watch in the process.
Has anyone else had a problem or is it just me? If not maybe you could share a couple of tips on the best way to remove them. I have 3 different colour straps that I am reluctant to use because of this!

You're supposed to push the latches away from the watch and slide the band off easily. You shouldn't have to tug on it at all.

Yeah, pretty much what I do. Pushing the latch away and then trying to slide out the strap. Maybe I am pulling at an angle or something. I don't normally get phased by these sorts of problems but this one is frustrating!
.
Are they original samsung straps? That could also be your problem, they probably just need to broken and warn in

They aren't original, so yes I think you're right. I just put the old ones back on and they are much easier to take off! So hopefully the problem solved. Thanks
I would just keep playing with the locking mech off the watch. You just have to get them "greased" in if you will!
My bands won't come off. They are not the originals because they broke. I have tried everything to get them off. But it's stuck the bottin will go in but the strap will not move. I have even put the watch face down and tried it won't work. What should I do?

Hey so I randomly saw spots and i thought i could just wipe them off but then i realized that they were under the screen? I don't understand how that could have happened but what could you do to get it out of there? and is it safe enough to do so without damaging the device?
Thanks a ton !
I also have a bit of dirt under my screen! But mine all seems to be in the top right corner. It doesnt bother me unless my screen is turned off or im in really bright sunlight though. I thought about taking the plunge and trying to take it apart and clean it, but i dont want anything to happen to my precious phone! lol
Take it to AT&T and see if they will replace your phone or at least clean it for you. I have gotten Apple to replace several iPod Touches because they had dirt and dust under the screen

That might pose a bit of a problem. Why don't you try calling AT&T customer service first. See what they say about it. If they can't do anything about it, maybe HTC can? But I know with HTC they always want you to send your phone in to their service place so they can have "a qualified technician review the phone". So if you are rooted and all that good stuff they might turn you down as well.
Or if you think you're up for it I would just find a few good take apart videos on YouTube for the Inspire (watch them many many many many times) and if you think you can do it, go for it. Just make sure you have the right tools and a few separate containers so you don't lose the screws and can keep them sorted. That way you can get a few cotton swabs and micro fiber cloths and give the whole phone a good cleaning.
Awesome I'll try that once I get home! Thank you... And I would just unroot before I gave it to HTC

Hello everyone,
my Photon Q fell two days ago and since nothing really happened except that the slider mechanism feels more lose than before, I wanted to ask you guys if 1) with your phone it is the same or 2) do you have an idea how to make it "tight" again?
I opened the phone but couldn't really find out what causes this gap on the left side (when the phone is closed and you are looking at the front). Even it's cosmetic (for some ) it bugs me a lot
Thanks
I've got the same issue, but I thought it could be an issue caused by a fall of the Photon Q.

You probably should have exchanged it then. It's likely yours was dropped during shipping or by someone in the Sprint store.

I'm not experienced in hardware repair or mods, but if you can separate the two parts of the phone it looks like it has a single hinge with two rails for the slide mechanism. I don't think those would be damaged based on your pictures but there are also two pieces of metal, one on each side of the display connector. My bet would be that one of those got dented. The two pieces seem to be used as a stopping point for the slide as well as distancing/orienting the display.

Thanks, Solust, for your ideas. I've been thinking the same. I inspected both of them, when I opened the phone and one felt a little lose. Not as lose as the upper part of the phone feels now, though. Can you confirm that it are those things you were mentioning?

At this point I do think it is beyond me and I'm a bit surprised someone more familiar with hardware hasn't stepped in yet. Might be worth a try PMing someone involved in the SIM mod.
The two metal pieces I was thinking of are on the keyboard portion of the phone. On the back of the display portion they create a mild groove the same size as the groove for the rails. One groove is left halfway up the phone and the other between that groove and the top of the phone. When the phone is together the display cable fits perfectly between them.
I'm sorry, all I can really do is speculate. I really don't know enough about this sort of thing. I may be mistaken as to what these parts are.

I think it is pretty impossible to fix a dent in the hinge, right? But would that http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTOROLA-PH...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item20d0b14dc6 fix my problems?
^ I'm pretty sure it wouldn't. My Q is suffering from the very same problem, though I got over it quite a while ago since it's kind of a 'minor' issue I actually have the same exact part sitting on my desk right now, my listing on eBay to sell it just ended haha. I could test it out for you, if you really would like to know.

When going through airport security has anyone ran into an issue with getting their phone taken apart? It's just where I've dropped it so many times the back plate is hard to stay on because alot of the little clips are broken...causes my battery to become dislodged resulting in random reboots.

I've been through several flights since I've had my S3 and they have never had me take apart my phone. I don't keep it on my person when I'm going through airport security though. Can't say I've had to take apart anything electronic through 4-5 roundtrip flights.

Yes indeed. Makes the whole "empty your pockets" routine incredibly simple. The only item I have had to present is my laptop, but everyone has to remove it from the case and backpack. I've flown international a couple times and domestic, and going back to my last phone, I have flown way more and never had to take apart my cell. I don't think I've seen anyone do so either. But anyway, that's my suggestion if this keeps occurring to you.

I have the same problem (the band actually separated from the mechanism that attaches the band to the watch, it is not actually separated from the case) and am bummed I did not get the sport version. Since I was using one large and one small strap, I have reversed the ends and can still wear the watch but who knows for how long.
However, I am using the failure as an opportunity to try and fashion a way to adapt the spring loaded mechanism to attach a standard watch band. I am still in the planning stages and will post something if I actually make it work.

you are correct they dont specify size but im assuming they all come in the large size L as that is what I got.
Ordered red bands for the wife for christmas and got em yesterday, tans are on the way (I hope) got em direct from samsung.
As for the band coming apart, all good here for both me and the wife, still as solid as the day I got em. Must be defective.

Give it time - I have had mine for 2 months. Strap separated 2 days ago. Having a lot of problems getting Samsung CS to replace it under warranty. I would reccomend that you definitely buy the Classic. This watch band problem is not going away. New bands are $49 equal to the price of a Classic when you add the watch cost.

Could the people having strap issues please provide a tad bit more background on their use patterns?
Did the straps fail when removing them from the watch case?
Had the straps previously been removed just to determine which size worked best for you?
Do you wear your straps tight or loose?
I think this will help get down to exactly what the failure point is and if some are going to be more susceptible than others. For instance; I'd ordered a warehouse deal one from Amazon and when it arrived it had the small size strap on it. So I attempted to switch out the band to the larger size but the buckle side band was nearly impossible to remove. Ultimately i got it removed, but the band pulled away from the metal bracket on one side. Eventually i had to return the watch anyway because the previous owner turned on reactivation lock But I can definitely see these bands prone to damage and failure when switching them out.

I think mine broke because I wear the watch when I sleep and I move around a lot and probably was dragging my arm under my body or something. Anyway, I could see the band separating from the mechanism for a few weeks before it actually came apart. Normally there is no separation between the mechanism and the band but it slowly started showing a gap between the strap and it's mounting point.
I do wear the band tight. Definitely had nothing to do with removing the band from the watch.
I have been traveling all week and have not had time to try my idea for a retrofit to use a standard watch band but I have a strategy. Should cost next to nothing (<$2US) but it may not look great. I will try tomorrow.

Mine did the same thing. I did take the band off and noticed 2 small screws holding the connector part of the band to the rubber band itself. I was able to tighten those screws and the separation issue was fixed. However, I don't think I should have to tighten things that are coming loose on a watch that costs this much

My Guess on this sizing is: When you buy the watch the factory box comes with S & L straps. The additional bands will only be available in one size, Medium which will fit both small and large wrists.
Compare your new red M band with the original S & L bands that came with your watch. I wouldn't doubt they have taken a large band and possibly put more holes in it so it will fit most wrists.

Hi.
So yesterday I got my watch back from an authorised repair shop that changed my battery, cost me about 80$ and they manage the lose my watch and return someone else's.
Got my in the end but someone over there manage to do something to it and I don't want to send it back to them.
My bezel seems to react but only change one screen, and then change back to the previous screen when I keep rotating it. If I use my finger it will change between all windows on the watch with no problems.
No strange sounds and feels the same.
I Googled it and took apart the bezel, cleaned it and put it back together, but problem persist.
All 4 balls and pins where there and the watch is clean to.
Tried to hard reset it but problem still persist.
About the watch:
Sm-r760
One ui 1.0
Tizen 4.0.0.4
Software r760xxu2esf2
Hope someone got a good idea.

The bezel includes 8 magnets to work like a quadrature incremental encoder.
The magnets may be got demagnetized somehow. Say, the previous owner was put into a MRI scannrer with the watches or lived for a long time in a transformer box.
There's nothing you can do about it, just replace the bezel. Or the magnets, if you manage to.
