Hey guys,
I have three black Z3's in my family. Two of them making a clicking noise when I'm pushing the left lower corner.
Don't need to push that hard, just a simple touch.
Just replaced one but the problem still exists.
Am I the only one? Or is this a normal behavior?
Thx!

Not a problem iam experiencng anyway
Ditto, no clicking on either of my units
I saw this problem. My Z3 Dual has no problem but my friend D6653 face the same. I guess sim tray problem, imei stick next to your sim! Maybe insert a thin paper to solve it.
Have seen similar issues but not the same on 2 Silver Green Z3.
Clicking sounds happened when pressed on the back below the camera flash

Today, my keypad broke between the green and the red phone button.
It's the tiny small connection on the absolute bottom of the keypad.
This is the second time this broke. Does anyone else has this same experience? Could this be happened by mis-use or is it just a weak point?
And if I send my phone to a service point, should I flash it with the default firmware or can I leave the custom "fast" firmware?
mine has broken thrice because of my ruff use..
I used superglue and it looks just like it was before..
i feel this is the best method other than replacing the keypad.

"Mine has broken 3 times because of misuse... I stick it with a <<fevi>> (I don't know what that is) stick and it lasts a long time.. that's the best method according to me"
Except for the "fevi" word it seems that this guy actually has a solution
Fevistick is a brand of instant superglue. only a drop is required(that too a small one). the drop dries in seconds...

Okay, thanks. Now I understand the whole story....
the 'fevi-stick' bit was too good maybe we ought to stick to generic brands like 'superglue'
anyways, i never had this problem ... been using the phone since 7 months now.
Me too...
Well I had that experience too. I almost lost my call button because of this. The Fevi-stick is the best option(other than replacing the keypad).
Cheers

Here You have keyboards for 5.99$

Never Broken Key
Never had the problem, using for Nearly one year now, TOUCH WOOD!
BTW: better flash it with the original ROM, you know OEMs, they just need an excuse to avoid giving you warranty!
I also had the same problem and as said "mrushabh", bonds with an instant glue called Araldite and is working so far.
Good luck!!!
on my qwertykeypad my 'd' button stopped working. i have2 press it real hard in order 2 type a 'd' my 'space' is also now starting 2 give this problem.
s710 isn't put together that well
Unrelated comment but it seems the s710 isn't put together that well. I dropped mine once (while the protected cover was fitted) and the navigation buttons stopped working. Send it to the shop only to find the motherboard has cracked.. The second drop caused the whole qwerty keypad to come apart.
I guess there is no way to truly protect your phone.. Unless you bubble wrap it.
On my phone, the SD cover no longer fits (it expanded).
My keyboard also cracked in the middle. Sticked it with glue too.
And the grey polish on the answer button is off too.
One more thing, the sliding mechanism no longer stays in place.
Other than that, it`s a nice phone.
disassemble keypad
Hi,
I want to change nummeric keypad with new one and I read service manual. They show on the picture how to do disassemble total phone. But if I only want to replace keypad, is it necessary to open mobile case, or is it enough, to pull keypad in upper direction like on the photo (see attached picture) ?
Has anyone experience in replacing keypad ?

Hi Z3 owners.
I just noticed a rather disturbing clicking noise from my Z3 when picking it up yesterday. After prodding about with it for a couple of minutes, it turns out that its coming from the middle of the back panel on the phone.
It sounds like the glue has come unstuck in the middle between case and phone. Only seems to be in the middle though, nowhere else.
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue? Or if its always been there and is just something ive never noticed before.
Im just a little concerned about the effect on water resistance. It looks like it was a significant problem on the Z / Z1 but, not seen any reports on the newer Z models.
TIA
I just did a quick check and..... it does make noises
Apparently Sony doesn't know how quality control works....
I've had this issue on both of my Z3's. The first one was not waterproof and failed underwater, the touchscreen no longer works.
My new one will be going back to T-Mobile as the camera button is defective as well...
Hi guys!
I've got a brand new Z3 for christmas and I do have a strage problem.
It's the screen underlight comming out of the edge of my screen near lanyard hole. And now I see it appears also on the counter side... 3 times smaller but it is.
I'm uploading pics so you can see what I mean.
Have anyone the same problem?
Do I need do return my phone?
Is my phone waterproof?
P.S.
I have Z1 until now and I don't have such a problem...
I have had lcd backlight leak like that before, exchanged 2 units for it but both were still waterproof. Best way to test is type in the dialer *#*#7378423#*#* and go into pressure test, press the screen a little with all flaps closed and see if pressure changes. If it's not waterproof pressure won't change.
Thank you!
It's working. Pressure changes with flaps closed and don't with opened.
So the last question:
It's only my will to exchange it or not?
Best regards,
Karol

I have the prob too...i guess if its not a major one then i'll just ignore it...
Just don't the pressure sensor test and it starts around 118 then when I apply pressure it goes tocabout 122 then quickly goes back to 118 does this mean my z3 is water tight lol
Sorry just not sure if it's meant to stay around 122 till I realise the pressure
Thanks

Does anyone else have loose home button on their phone? It makes noises when you lightly tap on it and doesn't sound too good. I've also went to the T-Mobile store today and noticed my home button is more flush than the both display models they had. Anyone else face the same issue?

If it feels off go in and have them pull out a brand new one. When there in store. If yours feels off, have it replaced! I do this with any new phone. I tediously inspect it. If I think something feels off I have them show me a new one and compare. That way I can show them right then and there, this is why you're going to give me another phone lol

I have a feeling my front glass is slightly misaligned. Will be checking the store model to make sure, as the corner by the back button seems a bit sunken in. The frame definitely comes up over the glass a little.
I was just in the Samsung Experience Store and noticed that of the four regular S6s they had, three had loose homebuttons. The Edges seemed fine though.
My t mobile version is a bit loose as well. It feels like a minor issue but it is pretty annoying....
I picked up my S6 this morning and have noticed that a light tap on the home button makes a noise. It's annoying and it makes an otherwise solid feeling, quality phone feel cheap. I guess I'll try taking it back to see if I can get another one that doesn't have this issue.
The frame is suppose to slightly overlap the screen by the way
I actually returned my T mobile version for another, and the other has the exact same loose button
Well i noticed it after you guys wrote about it here. I have a S6 32Gig White, a friend has a S6 64gig Black version, i checked his S6 and he doesn't have this issue.
But honestly, it is not like i tap on the button all the time, you can only hear it if you slightly tap on it. If you fully press it, you don't even hear it. It is also not like it makes any sounds when moving the phone, therefore i am not going through all the pain to get this replaced just to receive another one with a loose button

Yeah, if I didn't have this Edge without the issue it might not bother me so much
I went back to the T-Mo store and their display model had it. One of the guys opened another one up for me and it too was affected. I ended up walking out with the phone I had. Not gonna make them open a bunch of boxes until they find one that doesn't. At this point the ratio makes it seem like the loose button is normal and any that aren't are the odd ones. Ah well.

That's unfortunate. Perhaps I'll keep mine for a while and deal with it then swap? Wait on a different production run or something.
Mine is nice and tight, but already scratched up. I mean my fingers are rough but jeez. Some soft material on there.
mine seems pretty solid, sorry to hear you should defintely bring it back

Well i was wrong about it not bothering me It started annoying me after you guys wrote about it...
I went to a T-Mobile store to check if the devices had the same problem, and yes 2 of them had, 1 did not...
Dunno if it is worth to send it back now and wait up to 6 days to receive a replacement that has probably the same issue -.-
P.s. After pressing the button down very hard a few times, the right side stopped making noises, the mid now also seems to be fine, it can only be heared if touching the very left side of the button...
Same issue here. The left side of the home button rattles a little bit when i press lightly on it. Should i exchange or is it normal?

Does it bug you?
On my third t mobile version, all three with loose buttons.
Hello, guys.
Recently, I dropped my M2 on the street, resulting in cracked touchscreen and lcd. Replaced both the touch and the lcd, everything seemed normal until I noticed that the middle part of the touch (a line going from the left to the right, around 1cm height) doesn't work, it just doesn't respond. Later, I got another new touchscreen and same story - same part of the screen doesn't work.
Maybe we have some kind of defect touch screens here in Bulgarian stores? Though I bought the two touches from two seperate stores. Or it's possible that it's something with the lcd? Even though it works normally, no strange behavior, no black spots, scratches or anything. Or could it be a software problem? Using Android 5.0.
Thanks in advance.
More likely to be motherboard problem if it's the same with 2 different screens being installed
Thanks for your answer.
One thing I forgot to mention - when testing the screen in Sony's Sketch app or in the service menu, if I run my finger from the top to the bottom, or the opposite way quickly, sometimes, the lines my finger makes don't get cut, i.e. it's like the screen is functioning properly, with no dead spots. What does this mean?
According to Sony support, it could be a compatibility issue between the phone/touchscreen/LCD, what do you think?
