I just found that changing the wallpaper multiple times(twice or thrice or maybe even once) results in black background which cannot be changed. After wallpaper becomes black the interface seems to lag and if the device is locked and screen turns off then the display won't turn on even after pressing the power button! And I had to restart the device!
flixster
Hello,
thanks for this great image. Everything works fine onmy 5110 except flixster.
Has anyone a solution to run flixster on cm11 ?

I change my wallpaper often and have not run into this issue, try reflashing rom.

Is it because i flashed this Rom directly from stock android 4.0! I did not upgrade to stock jellybean!
i have noticed since using cm11 rom nightlies, some game audio/bgm sound seems distorted compared with jelly bean stock rom,
although gameplay little bit slow but still playable, even after applying custom kernel for cm11
and with cm11 nightlies (141103) wallpaper become black, from logcat show up many errors from WallpaperManager or something like that.
Wifi Ad-hoc Mode
Hi,
I have installed this rom in my p5110 device and I want to use the wifi in adhoc mode. But the Cyanogenmod for p5110 has no option to create a adhoc network. I have the Cyanogenmod 11 installed in a Galaxy S (i9000B) and works fine.
Why the p5110 does not show the option to create the adhoc network?
Thanks for yours attention

Same problem for me (with nightly 20141105)
Nightly means, I'm changing some stuff (experimenting ) on this rom and you by downloading will be my tester,if it works it becomes an update to rom. If doesn't work, it gets canned. Just nandroid back to original rom.

GTP3110 - CM11 Installation Failed
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" (Wi-Fi)
I tried to install CM11 under Mac with Terminal but it failed (maybe i unplugged the USB cable too early).
Now the Tab does not work: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again".
Under Mac OS X Yosemite ADB can't recognize my device, reboot in recovery or in download mode.

I followed that guid the original cyanogenmod wiki guid for GTP3110
And the tab didn't showed the blue transferscreen. I waited for that probably 10-15minutes but nothing happened (but mac said that transfer was finished), and i unplugged the USB cable.
guide: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p3110
So you tried to flash CWM, right?
Connect your Tab and try again using heimdall, download mode running in background of your BSOD (Black Screen of Death).
Good luck!

You said you used this guide, you didn't flash a P3110 cm rom by accident, did you?
If you did it could be bricked. ???
Pp.
Doesn't matter if recovery or rom from p31xx flashed on p51xx (same the other way, sometimes i flash p51xx stuff on my p3110), only cause wrong resolution and touch won't work.
He failed on flashing CWM, on BSOD Odin and heimdall still can be used to flash a rom or recovery, download mode running in background automatically.

Actually i don't know could or not be bricked but I'm sure that i flashed p3110 CM ROM. Before the blue screen it stucked or something like that. Now it shows that message (and a can't recognize the device with dab or i can't boot recovery or download mode with buttons): "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again."

Hi there, i'm from indonesia...
Just wondering whats wrong with my step, cause now i got P3100 "stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2" Screen" until the battery drains out...
First :
- Trun off P3100
- put download mode
- connect P3100 to pc
- Click ODIN
- select "GT-P3100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar" file on PDA
- START
- Finish (Sucssesful)
- Reboot
- Result "stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2" Screen"
Note : just try to flash cwm to flash root.zip for P3100
Second :
- Trun off P3100
- put download mode
- connect P3100 to pc
- Click ODIN
- select "P3100XXBLH2_P3100OLBBLH1_P3100XXLH2_HOME.tar.md5" file on PDA (downloaded from Sammobile)
- START
- Finish (Sucssesful)
- Reboot
Note : Try to Restock to stock firmware 4.0.4 & already try with PIT.File selected on ODIN but..
- still "stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2" Screen"
Anybody can help me with this issue...??
Cheers
Maybe you could try reflashing the stock firmware WITHOUT any PIT file. I only remember needing a PIT file for older devices like the original Galaxy Tab P1000, not for the newer ones like the P3110.
After which, instead of letting it boot normally, try booting into recovery mode, do a factory reset/wipe cache from there then see if all works again.
Btw, one of the more popular rooting methods for P3110 is actually Chainfire AutoRoot, which does not require custom recovery like CWM and only requires you to flash the AutoRoot tar file through ODIN. Very simple & recommended by everyone here.
Ok, will try today and report soon...
Cheers

Sounds like the bootloader got messed up. That's bad & probably only the service centre can help you now.
No, if you can get it into download mode it's fixable. ODIN recovery again and try to get into recovery.
Posted from my Fascinate using XDA Premium
Probably flashing into stock rom will fixed it, as long as your download mode can be accessing you're gonna be fine
You guys are forgetting the most basic thing to fix the tab. Hold Power+Volume up instead of power+volume down. then using the volume keys highlight wipe data/factory reset and then press power, yes and then once finished reboot the tab.
Facing same problem

How to solve it????
What have you done exactly @saddam6600 ? Please tell each Step!

Wipe data and install a touchwiz based rom first. I had the same problem and it is a problem of the bootloader.
Then flash twrp using odin.
Once i flashed twrp, all roms work perfect on my tab 2.
Hope that helped.

Good evening all?
Ive unlocked my TF300T a year back and had been running Cyogenmod 10.1 on it for months, all worked fine.
As a recovery i had CWM installed and it worked like a charm as well.
A week ago i saw Cyogenmod 10.2 was out there and i wanted to switch the recovery to TWRP (i installed ver 2.6.x.x) and tried the new Cyogenmod.
It sisnt work so i wanted to switch back to 10.1 and CWM.
I dont exactly know what i did but in the end even the vol down and power button menu doesnt work anymore.
The tab turn on now and shows the Asus start screen but doesnt boot up.
Also when i press vol down and the power button it doesnt load the boot menu where i can install a new recovery and install the old Cyogenmod.
When its powered on i cant even turn of the tab, it keeps turning on for a few minutes in the Asus logo screen and than turn off and on again... till the battery is empty.
Did i brick my tablet ?
Are there any ways i can try to get the original software back?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers !

I think i didn't...
At first i just unlocked the device, installed recovery CWM and after a version (januari 2013) of Cyogenmod 10.1 wich was Android 4.2.2 and kept the Cyogenmod 10.1 up to date every few weeks... Thats all i did till i wanted to install Cyogenmod 10.2 (Android 4.3)
I can't recall updating the bootloader myself, could have been with an Asus update or something but i think i din't do it myself.
CM changed to the updated PITs when Asus updated first.
best solution would be to flash latest stock, boot into it once, flash twrp2 (2.6.0.0 works for me atm) then flash cm10.2
here is my summary

hope it helps
and no, i don't think you need to send it in for repair - it sounds more like broken PIT's so mount and boot points are not being recognized anymore.

More details will be needed before someone can help. What had you done right before it acted up? What rom do you have in there ATM? Can you post a picture or tell what's on the initial screen (the one before the boot animation)? Did you try volume down + power? If you did, what did the screen show?

I rooted my device using the method shown on this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228613I
, the ROM is stock and the screen before the animation is normal (white Asus text). I have tried volume down and power and from that screen, I reset my tablet. This didn't solve the issue, before this started, I changed the boot animation and changed fonts. I think it was while restarting after the font change that it stopped booting properly.

I gather by "reset my tablet", you meant you cold booted it by selecting the android icon. This being the case, you can always reflash the stock ROM with fastboot. Depending on whether you had 4.1 or 4.2 bootloader - 4.1 has 4 icons including a USB icon which if clicked, will make the tab enter fastboot/download mode; 4.2 will enter that mode automatically as you press volume down+power - you need to choose the right ROM you want to install. The initial screen should tell you which bootloader on the top left corner. 4.1 matches stock Roms commencing with 10.4.x.xx; 4.2 is Roms with 10.6.x.xx
I've flashed a 4.1 ROM (104220) on a tab with 4.2 bootloader by means of an external SD card without problems. However, to be safe, you should flash whatever version you'd had before the incident. If you already have data on the tab that you care to keep, you shouldn't touch the wipe date icon. If you need a link as to what to do, read this one. Good luck.
Basically, i was in the process of rooting the device. I have 4.0.4. So, I am able to run Odin, with it showing "success" on the screen. I unchecked auto reboot. So, I unplugged the USB, and when I try to reboot into recovery, I get nothing, just a black screen. The samsung logo screen will come on and then go away. I hold volume down and power button, and then let go of power button. Prior to running Odin, I was able to see the stock recovery screen. But now, I can't get to any recovery screen. But the phone will boot up no problem, and I can get to the download screen no problem as well. I am not sure what to do next. Can anyone help me or does anyone have any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thank you.

brother try flashing cwm again
also there are many other recoveries you can try them if available
also there are many backup apps [although i cant remember} which have feature of booting into recovery so find and try them
good luck:good::good:
I tried flashing through Odin about 5 times. It says 5. For custom binary downloads... but when I reboot, I just cant get it into recovery. After flashing through odin, and odin says complete, I unplug tablet and try to reboot into recovery, and I get nothing. It almost seems like its going to work but it doesnt. Also, I cant even update the system upgrade.... im guessing since I cant get to recovery screen, neither can the devixe when it tried to update. I'm lost at what to tey next....
Are you positive you flashed a recovery that is designed for your Tab?
Oh nice idea... I used the files in the how to post in the dev section. But I couldnt. Find the 4.93 tar file so I downloaded it somewhere else. It may have been bad I guess? Like I said, everything worked until I had to reboot to recovery. Does anybody have the. Philz touch4.93 tar file? Thank youguys for your help. I appreciate it so much. None of my friends are into this stuff, so you guys are all I got. Lol.
I tried starting over from the beginning of the steps but nothing works. I just get the same result. Does anybody have any ideas of what I am doing wrong or any suggestions? Thank you for your help in advance.

So you got two problems.
One is the los of your recovery en two is the root.
I alway's use the cwm recovery.
and for root is use CF-Auto-Root-espresso
Btw what tab are you on, P5100 P5110 or ??????
That could make a diverance.

For the root

http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Did you check the MD5 hash for your CWM zip? If it is incomplete it doesn't stand much of a chance at working. On Windows I use winmd5free, and on the tablet I use MD5 Hash (Free, No Ads) from the Google Playstore to verify the MD5 of anything I download before flashing it.
Personally I've used the unofficial TeamWin Recovery 2.6.3.0 zip (TWRP) on my P5113 to install CM 10.2 from the Nightly builds.
Also, verify your device is really rooted. I used RootValidator, again from the Google Playstore, to check after rooting my Tab the first time.
Okay I will try checking md5. Thank you so much. Also, I have sgh i497.... how do I know 5110 vs 5100?

Goto Settings, About tablet (scroll down to the bottom of the settings to find it).
Check out focussoft's directions on how he rooted his sgh-i497. Note he refers to an older version of TWRP Recovery in his instructions.
I used this to root my P5113.
It is easy to confuse the volume rocker switch directions. Remember that the side next to the power button is Volume Down!
P5100 is the one with a simcard ( 3g/phone )
P5110 is the wifi only tablet
P5113 is wifi and Infrared
Okay, I have 3g and wifi on here so I have 5100.

Make sure you have root.
Look up mobile Odin. The lite version is free but make sure you grab the correct kernel flash file for your tablet.
Download the latest cwm/philz/twrp of your choice for your device and use mobile Odin app to flash recovery.
I've occasionally had issues getting into recovery on my 3113 and found that powering off, plugging it in until the battery icon shows then holding power and volume up and quickly unplugging the cable seems to help. Continue holding volume up for about 5 seconds after the black screen shows and it goes into recovery 99% of the time.
I should note that I only have that issue if I flash incompatible rom and kernel combos or wipe my system and accidentally turn the tab off in recovery mode.

I should have been clearer. The file I specified is for Mobile Odin.
Mobil Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
Here's the thread. I'll edit this post in a second with the right recovery.
If you flashed a bad kernel you wouldn't be able to boot past the Samsung screen at all, except to get into download mode. If you can boot to the rom, it's not the wrong kernel. Likely just the wrong recovery or a corrupted recovery download.
Brb, hold tight.
Oh boy... we have a big problem...
I just rececked your model number from your signature....
YOU DO NOT HAVE A 51XX TABLET. DO NOT FLASH 51XX FILES.
What you have is the AT&T 4g model.
Flashing files for any other model can potentially permanent brick your device as all the hardware is completely different.
Let me get back to you again and see if I can find a real recovery option for you.
Ok, here is a good recovery for you. Try this and get back to me.

Now, i cant go to recovery nor in the download mode. PLZZ HELP ME HOPE I WILL GET THE SOLUTION VERY FAST.....

You may probably think it is the gapps that has some problems, but actually its your ROM's issue.
my friend has a htc desire z and he tried a lots of version of gapps and ROMs in many combinations and what happened is-
AOSB ROM without gapps = perfect!
AOSB ROM with any version of gapps = bootloop
any other ROM with or without any version of gapps = perfect!
So i can include, his AOSB ROM as well as your ROM has issues!
Try using another one!
cant go into recovery mode nor in download mode

Thx for the advise and i also undrstand what u r trying to say but tell me how i intall a new rom as i cant go in recovery nor in download mode hope u will reply fast and give me a suitable and best answer....thx anyway
What happens when you try to turn it on in download mode, by pressing power+volume down, what happens?? Does a "firmware error" shows up?
If nothing happens like i told above, keep your tab on untill the battery dies then connect it to charger and you might be lucky to get into download mode

Sorry but seems i can no longer help you. If you could get into download mode somehow, things would be much easier.
For now, i can just recommend you visit a cyanogenmod forum , they can help you for sure.
Or you can take it to nearby samsung store, anyways.

Great!! now that you've entered download mode, first install Odin in your pc, connect your tab with usb cable and see if odin can detect your phone.
Now download the official firmware of your tab 2, p5100 from http://www.sammobile.com/ (download the firmware compatible in your country and flash it via odin.
Use google search to get detailed description of how to use odin, Best of luck

Wow feels good that your tablet has been fixed happy to help never give up on something
Hello! I was bored, so I optimized this rom.
Installation instructions:
Reboot to CWM/TWRP recovery
Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik
Flash the ROM, and if you are using the CM12 themed ROM's repartitioned build then feel free to install GApps.
After the installations done, reboot to system
Voila! You installed the ROM
What are the changes?
- Use Samurai kernel
- Add Adrenaline Engine, Broadcom booster, etc
- Delete out unused apps like:
Phone related things like SMS (RIL isn't working, so why do we need Telephony?)
DSP Manager
Terminal, and etc...
And what does work?
Everything, it has the same issues as CM11.
Can I repartition?
Yes, you can. I'll make a guide for it soon w/ video tutorial.
Where's the download link?
Here you go.

Wow! I'm glad to see that there's still movement (low, i see, but still) on the Galaxy Y community!
Galaxy Y is one of the most enjoyable phones I ever had - it is amazing the power we were able to extract from this tiny Broadcom low-storage device
I'm working on a video series about optimizing old devices for modern daily usage (as Android 2.3 doesn't support most of modern apps, while 4.4+ supports a lot more, like WhatsApp for instance).
I just ordered a Galaxy Y and I'll test your ROM and provide feedback as soon as i get it!
Thank you very much

thanks! i recommend trying out cm12 first, BUT YOU NEED TO REPARTITION. This means that you can get more storage .. And you can optimize the device for daily usage
It's hard to find a Y nowadays, where'd you find one?
Don't forget to link your channel so I can give you credits!
Hello, I have this Galaxy Y GT-S5360 that has been lying around for years.
Years ago I flashed it to Hyperion 9 so I believe it also has a very old cwm recovery...
Could you point me to a step by step guide for repartition and flashing this rom as well as the minimum requirement for the cwm/twrp recovery?
Thank you

Hello!
Here's the repartitioning instruction (you don't need to do it unless you really need gapps):
[ROM][4.4.4] CyanogenMod 12 Themed ROM for Samsung Galaxy Y
Hello! I was a little bit bored, so I made a CyanogenMod 12 likely ROM for this old device. If coming from stock rom/CM9/CM7/CM11: Check post #102 If coming from CM12 themed ROM's other build: Check post #114, this is the latest build. If...

BUT use the optimized crdroid's zip if you want to install this rom.
I bricked my phone (stuck at boot logo) right after installing twrp-3.0.2-1-totoro.
Further reading in twrp totoro thread I found out that this recovery is only for CM11 rom.
My bad, I did not read the whole thread before flashing.
Now I am still trying to solve this problem first
did you solve the problem?
Not yet....
It is really strange. When the phone is in download mode, odin can not detect. Odin can detect when it is off and charging. But when I tried to flash, it stuck in file analysis.
Now it seems I can not even enter download or recovery

Vol down + home + power button, and if you did it right then a warning should pop up. Press Vol up after that and you should see an Android with "Downloading..."

Hello, did you succeed to fix your problem?
Sorry for my late reply.
As shown in my first video, vol down + home + power button only gave me bootlop.
The same result if I pressed vol up + home + power to enter recovery. It just bootloop
Good day, do you know if the ROM supports bluetooth?
