Announced Android 5.0 said nothing unless I missed it about Android Wear.
Very disappointed.
When will we see new devices?
ASUS, LG Round, Sony Android watch were all mentioned in the past but October is over half way done.
Still only have the Gear Live and LG watch (no MOTO 360 in Canada)
While it might be reasonable to expect Google to have mentioned Android Wear 2.0 software, they are certainly not going to announce the release of a watch that is manufactured by somebody else.
Very disappointed too. No news at the moment
i think the whole smartwatch hype is cooling off..... except for moto360.

What? On the hardware side the LG G Watch R and the Asus Zen Watch are coming to the market this week, and on the software side Android Wear 2.0 is set to be released along side Lollipop 5.0 (set for 11-12 now), Android Wear is anything but cooling off.
That article was printed before Android Wear was even announced! I have to agree however, that before Android Wear, smart watches were all over the place - a result of them being all proprietary. Most of them would only work with certain phones even. I was very excited to see AW announced and then released because it gives all the manufacturers a common system to run. This will mean better support and people will be more inclined to try it out knowing that all the devices will work together. It's also Androids only hope of competing with the Apple Smartwatch (which I think it will do very successfully).

Isn't Android Wear proprietary? Google even stopped a start up from introducing an Android Wear device. Android and Android Wear are not handled in the same way.

It use to be that some of the watches would only work with certain phones. Like Samsung producing watches that only worked with Samsung phones. Then all the phones had different os and user experiences. This made for an extremely confusing and segmented market. Now with android wear, at least a buyer knows that a phone will work on many phones and the user experience is going to be the same.
That start up was stopped because they had not aquired the proper licenses or permission from Google to use the wear os.

Today Engaget had leaked images revealing a prototype model of the new upcoming psp phone.
Heres what else they had to say
" ...likely boasting Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread), along with a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow you to purchase and download games designed for the new platform....sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. L...the handset does indeed have a long touchpad in the center which is apparently multitouch,...For Sony buffs, you'll be interested to know that there's no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.
The particular model in these shots is still in prototyping mode. As such, the unit doesn't have a custom skin (not even SE's Timescape design seen on the Xperia devices), and is said to be rather buggy... but it's likely that much of what we reported earlier is still accurate, and though the device could still be headed for a 2010 release, 2011 is looking much more realistic."

What are your thoughts?
I think it looks great! Hopefully will be the successor to the original psp!
The centre-multitouch pad, to me, looks like a pair of dual analogue sticks
Great XD
Engadget have also claimed that the photos are legit!
This is a device which has been confirmed through multiple, trusted sources.....Even since last night we've received more info about the phone -- learning that its codename is "Zeus,".....it was last seen running Android 2.X (not 3.0, which we suspect will be the shipping version)....device pictured in those photos is a prototype running early software (which would explain the A / B button mention in the photo above) with hardware that was likely hand-built, or at the very least created in a very small batch.

Funny enough, over at webhallen There seems to be a PSP 2 on offer for pre-order for 3,295 kr (US$ 499.5). Could it be a mistake? A blunder? Or Reality?
If they keep the hardware similar to current smartphones there would be no reason some of the games couldn't be run on other android phones. This may be great news

Anyone else not see the point in this?
Why would i pay a ridiculous amount of money for a psp which doubles up as a phone when my psp sits on a shelf gathering dust?
If this was a ps3 portable then i'd be getting excited
this just seems ridiculous, why would they stick with snapdragon? or are they going to put in a different GPU, its a playstation phone so you would expect it to be able to throw around some serious muscle for gaming graphics.
I just dont see the point
Go look at epic citadel for the iphone, we could have games like that, we have the hardware its just the lack of developers
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
True, but its only a prototype so it could change!
Yeah and i agree, they should put a much stronger processor so it can handle some hardcore games!
The only thing i am worried about is if its released with an android os. Then all eyes are going to be looking here, at XDA, waiting for them to release a root so those poor pirates can start their piracy!
Makes me sick!!!
And the developers. Well we wouldn't necessarily need more devs as sony are going to hire them anyways to produce their PSP-like games! Hell they've already started on mortal combat!!!!!!!!
With Tegra 2 phones coming out early next year, why would Sony bring out a phone so behind the curve?

The reason being is that Sony need to get back in the race for portable consoles. With the 3DS coming out next year, and the fact their current PSP failed due to the insane amounts of piracy they need to step it up.
I think its a great idea seing as my current 1000 needs to be replaced with something new and fresh. Remember this is only a prototype and will change in the near future.

That's exactly the point. The reason your PSP sits on the shelf gathering dust is because you don't take it everywhere like your phone. If you could play ghost of sparta or little big planet during your lunch hour instead of wordfeud or paper toss on your phone, wouldn't you?
After the PS Phone release on the market, then somebody will find out how PSP games can be coded for Android mobiles like HTC Desire HD, Samsung Galaxy S etc.
So I am thinking that later they will be able to play Crisis Core on Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD etc.

It looks so much like Android.
I'm confused. This may sound like a separate topic but, since Android is open source, does it mean that I can copy it over and change it around and call it MyMobileOS and sell it for money?
Is what XiaoMi phone is doing legal? They just take Google's code and change it around and massively put it on their own phones and sell for money?

HTC screens are garbage. I personally think that if Samsung was to go ahead and make this move without continuing to release any Android phones then that would be a negative decision on their part financially.

U would leave android because sammy did?
I seriously doubt the SGSII will have anything but android on it but I certainly don't doubt them making a phone with another OS. look at how many android phones sammy makes. you think they will stop all that?
Tizen is also open source - so you should not pay any money to have it. And looking into the source code - all of the drivers are under Apache License with Samsung as owner. We will probably see Samsung running Tizen soon. Not to mention that Intel is supporting the project hoping that they may enforce x86 instead of ARM processors arch (the same way they are forcing Thunderbird instead of USB). Android got one major flaw - that's the java virtual machine or I should say Oracle.
Looks like a Touch Wiz OS. Low end devices most likely, similar to Bada.

Oh c'mon with the exaggeration.. they're a far cry from 'garbage'!
Samsung screens are nice but the colours (from what I have seen personally) are over saturated in comparison to others such as HTC, which have more natural colours, something a lot of people appreciate.
My best friend has a GS2 and while his screen is nice, it's also tinted yellow because the colour temperature is way off, so the colours on my 1 year old Desire HD actually look better. He's not alone either there's a 200+ page thread on it. Then there's the banding issues people are having on the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note displays.
What I'm getting at is all current screens have their downsides but they're all far from being garbage.
i think that's a new incarnation of BADA OS
It's a bada os, but it'll be open-source this time.
I don't know who need this... Bada failed, Tizen will fail too.
This would be a HUGE mistake. Right now, people love Android, and some of us have quite a bit of money invested in apps and other things. I don't see many devs jumping ship either...

In case you were still skeptical about the Nexus Tablet making its appearance at Google I/O this month, yet another rumored ASUS source has confirmed the imminent launch of the oft-fabled tablet. An ASUS rep at Computex told Android Authority will indeed make its debut appearance at Google I/O at the end of the month. Source : AndroidAndMe
We learned from sources that the target pricing for the Nexus Tablet was $149-$199, with Google aiming to bring the Nexus Tablet into as many pockets as possible. With production rumored at about 600,000 tablets produced by the end of June, it became fairly obvious that Google’s I/O developer conference was going to be showcasing the device.
Rejoice, Android fans, Google’s Nexus Tablet is real, will be made by ASUS, and will be unveiled at the end of June at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

not worried if it doesnt have a rear cam. who in their right mind uses a tablet to take photos anyway? I have my phone for that, or better yet, an actual camera. If google/asus sacrifice the front camera to allow the device to hit the right price point, or to allow better specs in the cpu/screen/build quality, then I'm all for it.

Spoke to the Live support for an issue I was having, thought I'd ask about Android P update coming to our phones. Seems like it is! :fingers-crossed:
Mobile Support
As of August 2018 Google, has begun to roll out Android P to select Pixel Phones. Razer will be working with Google to release Android P for the Razer Phone. We do not have a defined release date yet and the dates may vary based on your region and mobile provider. To ensure you get the release as soon as it is available, please be sure your Razer Phone always has the latest software updates installed.
7:25:02 AM
What are your thoughts, will we get it?
Early next year is my bet.
That’s my guess as well. Logically I’d assume it would be much faster considering the P GSIs already work for the most part. If the Razer Phone 2 launches with P, it might be sooner than that though.
Yeah let's hope! This is truly my most favourite phone I've had in years.
Wow!This is a surprise.
I'm no fortune teller but if the Phone 2 doesn't come out with Pie I think we'll get it end of Q1 2019, same as Oreo for Phone 1.
Android 9
Just got off web chat with razer support. They said the mobile team are in the 'middle' of releasing pie.
No idea how long that means.
I found this: https://www.androidauthority.com/razer-phone-2-android-pie-update-954889/
It said in article that Razer rolling update for Razer Phone 2 on 27th Feb, hope Razer 1 will have update at the same time.
Gave up on all things Razer had a full desk set Blackwidow v2 keyboard naga trinity mouse
kraken v2 7.1s firefly chroma mat and a razer orb weaver, razer phone 1 and pretty much every phone case made including the official ones and some that were 3d printed, and hammerhead usb cs I bought with the phone, Min-Liang Tan made some huge boasts on the support side regular updates fast fixes he's full of crap talks bigger than he can back up abandoned like the nextbit robin guys, anyone who buys stuff of razer pray you don't have a warranty claim , synapse 3 has been beta for 2 years and it still doesn't support half their products, 1 product can mean having to run v2 and v3 and either set your lighting to a fixed colour as chroma wont sync between the 2 programs.
TL:dr good hardware let down by mickey mouse software
Razer phone 2 OTA update to Android P already in place. I guess Razer phone 1 will not be getting Android P.
It says on this page that RP1 is under evaluation for Pie, whatever that means https://support.razer.com/mobile/razer-phone-2/
Razer Phone 2 from what I've read just started to get there's yesterday.

I thought the US owners were able to update already. Did you try the "Unable to receive official system updates" guide on Huawei's website or running the HiSense update software on PC?

It's also not what Huawei promised - in theory, it was one major OS update, 2 years feature updates, and 3 years security patches. However, given the Huawei/China vs Trump thing I can understand that going out the window.
However, as I keep asking, who else does supported, decent Android tablets at a reasonable price? I paid £220 for my 8.4" M5 2 and a bit years ago, and there isn't anything obvious at that type of price now.

Exactly. The Samsung tablets with fingerprint reader cost more than £600 and now I am so used to using the fingerprint instead of typing passwords all the time that I don't want a tablet without a reader.
One of the many reasons to hate Trump is that the best provider of Android hardware of the last three or four years has now disappeared from the market.

I wouldn't say they've disappeared - but they are now using an AOSP build and have no access to Google Services out of the box. Which in turn reduces the practicality for many people, depending on the apps available in the App Gallery.
I don't belive in this. I've got the Media Pad M5 Pro (C431)
Stil (SEPTEMBER 20!!!) on Android 8.0.0 with July patch 2019
Support says - No update available for my device (Tried 5 different supporters)
I'm really angry coz it's the PRO Model.

Your device is CMR-AL19 or CMR-W19? For the LTE version there should be available 9.1.0.351 or 9.1.0.352 ... for the WiFi version I didn't find any update.
