In case you were still skeptical about the Nexus Tablet making its appearance at Google I/O this month, yet another rumored ASUS source has confirmed the imminent launch of the oft-fabled tablet. An ASUS rep at Computex told Android Authority will indeed make its debut appearance at Google I/O at the end of the month. Source : AndroidAndMe
We learned from sources that the target pricing for the Nexus Tablet was $149-$199, with Google aiming to bring the Nexus Tablet into as many pockets as possible. With production rumored at about 600,000 tablets produced by the end of June, it became fairly obvious that Google’s I/O developer conference was going to be showcasing the device.
Rejoice, Android fans, Google’s Nexus Tablet is real, will be made by ASUS, and will be unveiled at the end of June at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Maybe.. or maybe not

moar info: http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/06/10/a...firms-nexus-tablet-coming-by-the-end-of-june/

Did the rep actually say "the end of June of 2012" or just "the end of June"???
Will the end-users see the tablet in store by the end of this June? or they just will be officially announce this June and we won't see it until next year?

I just don't think I could be happy buying this when I know the original MeMO 370T was looking so perfect.

It's supposed to debut the new Jelly Bean 4.1.

Cant wait to get it.
I believe google decided to go with ics instead of the proposed jelly bean. something about only 6% of the android world has gotten a taste of ics.
Idk. I want it either way.

Can't wait to see what the devs do to this little powerhouse!

I will buy because I'm tired of not be updated.

I hope jelly bean is for cellular devices as well, unlike honeycomb where it was only for tablets.

"Google's 7-inch tablet PC, which the company co-developed with Asustek computer, is set to start shipping in June with initial shipments to reach about 600,000 units. The machine will be officially released in the market in July, according to sources from the upstream supply chain" kind of says it all..

not worried if it doesnt have a rear cam. who in their right mind uses a tablet to take photos anyway? I have my phone for that, or better yet, an actual camera. If google/asus sacrifice the front camera to allow the device to hit the right price point, or to allow better specs in the cpu/screen/build quality, then I'm all for it.

Bottom line...Price/Hardware. If they hit the target price of $200 this one beats out the a110. I'm ditching my a500 in favor of this.

WOOO!!!
Oh snap! Was pretty stoked after seeing that french video earlier with the TF running 3.1 but after reading this I'm super stoked!
Like I said in the other thread on this topic D), if Asus DOES release 3.1 next week, I'll be damned impressed with how they're supporting the Transformer so far. Damned impressed.
i can't wait to get my transformer next week...perfect timing

Updates to Samsung phones in the US have mostly been down to the cell companies and not due to Samsumg themselves.

This is the invitation received to the “First-to-knowers” around the world.
The Google Samsung event originally planned for Oct. 11 was postponed, as we know, in respect to the passing of Steve Jobs.
Finally we got an official date of Oct. 19th in Hong Kong. This is without a doubt the unveiling of Ice Cream Sandwich.
The event begins at 10:00 AM in Hong Kong, so if you’re here in the US like I am, tune your browser to the Android Channel in Youtube at 10PM EST on Oct 18th for the live broadcast.
Who’s ready???? Let us know in the comments.
Can't wait, Im ready to upgrade my Nexus one.
There is at least one person that is ready.
Hell yeah! We all ready to taste some Icecream.
Especially my SGS2
YEAH!!!
I hope there is a upgrade for sgsl i9003...
Cause upgrades for these android phone comes very late and slow...
My Nexus S is longing for a bite!!
Galaxy S waiting for a whole tray of Ice-cream
Whoop, can't wait for a great ice cream rom cooks away Does anyone know if it's true they've worked out a way to get the mini usb port to work like the crapple apple connector dock. If it is I'm ecstaticcly waiting for the many third party docks, that will make my Samsung Galaxy SII bloom
How come no one has stolen one of those statues yet? lol. There has got to be some serous apple cultisit/fanatics running around willing to do it.
I'll be too busy sleeping to watch (it's at 3am UK time).
Desire HD? Ready!
Man thank goodness we did not have to wait a whole month more. I am really ready to see just what ICS has to offer to make Android even better. Not to mention the sooner the release the sooner my HTC Sensation will get a upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS. I have seen videos and pics showing how ICS has taken and incorporated things found in Honeycomb for tablets into the OS for phones. I have also seen talk of the default browser possibly being Google Chrome or at least Google Chrome being available in a app for Android with ICS, which means we will finally have true tabbed web browsing capabilities One thing is for sure I am excited about ICS.
I can't wait. The music app looks and feels great, only dislike I have is the damn widget (album art, Google! There's a reason it exists, USE IT with the widget!). Plus I'm really looking forward to seeing what the devs do with it.
DO you guys think existing devices (everybody except sammy) will get smooth pinch to zoom like sgs2?
Samsung galaxy nexus aka nexus prime priced at $299.99 on Verizon......
Can't wait!! Now the question remains, which one of my devices will get a ROM first? Glacier or Iconia? It'll be nice to finally have the same Android version on both devices. Unity ftw!
IVE GOT AN ICE CREAM HEADACHE waiting for this baby to come out!!
Can't wait hope it comes out for the Optimus One from our awesome Devs

The next nexus device? or devices lol

I am able to upgrade in september, and was wondering if i should get galaxy s3, or wait for the next nexus or nexuses, because i heard they have better development support. Is it worth it to wait, or is there enough support on s3, being so popular. Also, how long would i have to wait for the next nexus
Nexuses have great support, but if you need a phone now go ahead, the s2 is getting jellybean.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nexus devices get updates directly which is fantastic, there is no waiting involved for manufacturers to add all the bloatware. I have an S3 and know that Samsung will be quite dellayed on any jelly bean update, so I have just accepted that any jellybean I get will be a custom rom but I'm okay with that. Personally my next phone would be a nexus, but I have enjoyed my S2 and currently love my S3

they really are, ive been burned thrice times..sadly ..only reason i tested the nexus is because i knew google was supporting it...if you dont care about the mediocre features of the s3 or dont care for touchwiz i suggest you wait for the next nexus..if you care about them then get the s3..but im sure you know or if you dont know..samsung is horrible with updates ..i got the behold...smh..then the galaxy s..wow..then the galaxy s 2..shouldnt have been shocked..see they dont really build up to much talk about updates..they let it ride for a year..then drop a new phone thats better and forget about the last one..if you dont care about support and updates and dont mind touchwiz and its features then i suggest get it..im not bashing the gs3 for anyone thats reading this, im just stating whats happened from past experiences and my experience with the s3, its a beautiful snappy perfect little phone well little isnt the word lol..but the features it offers if you care about customization and what not are just a gimick. if you dont care about customization like most general purchasers or just dont take the time to figure out how to do then you should get it

Nexus 10 Pics, Specs, and More

Hi all,
I got my hands on some pictures of the Google Nexus 10 from Samsung. Full details and pictures are below at my blog. Personally, I think it looks very nice. Most excited about the Exynos 5250 and Mali T604. Android 4.2 looks like a very minor upgrade. What do you think?

I've been hesitant to buy any android tablet because it would just be a bigger phone. The screen resolution looks to be a big selling point ( HD++)
As a side note. I would think that for tablets the better camera would be onthe front of the device? Always seen it as strange that they follow the lead from phones.
So they are now using the Nexus 7 button and notification bar layout. It looks okay on a 7" tablet, but I prefer the all in one bottom notification bar on 10" tablets. Hopefully they haven't removed the option for this and a simple tweak is all it takes to get this back.
How long until Apple finds someway to create a lawsuit over this device since its a Samsung?

+1 Personally I'm tired of everything android being Samsung... Their first gen touchwiz was definitely iOS influenced and they are really just another giant corporation maximizing profit margins and trying to get a monopoly on android. I think I'll skip this one.

Same here, but the HP Touchpad fire sale was just too good to pass up. I mostly used it to learn CWM/TWRP and flashing ROMs.
A tablet that would be attractive for me to buy at full price would be something with an x86/64 processor (not an Atom, either something like an i3 or better) that could run desktop operating systems like Windows, which is where most of the real productivity apps are. I'd be able to dual boot Android/Windows since only the ARM platform is locked down in Windows 8. Something with a dockable keyboard/mouse like a laptop. Unfortunately the price point is still too high on these kind of things.

Ohh wait, I can try again - I think it will be over 9000 yen... multiplied by 3. Probably 4. I would consider it up to $499usd since that puts it in the same price category as the Infinity, which is its main Android-class-competition IMO. Sweet screen - versus - micro sd. I think I want the sweet screen on the N10.

That would've been strike #2 by HTC.
First of all, they should be more than thankful for us putting up with their faulty engineering ( hairline cracks ).
At least they could keep the phone up to date and tweak its performance as much as they can as a "payback" for the hairline cracks.
Second that's breaking their own officially given promise about bringing Lollipop to the One Mini.

Cracks weren't the issue here! And for best performance you should use a custom rom (I never used an official rom with all the google-crap, but wait for a working Lollipop that hopefully will be reduced to minimal).

I like how Lolipop is sutable to run even on 1Ghz singlecore 512mb ram devices, but HTC cannot make it for mini versions of it's flagship cuz of and i quote - 'technical constraints with the device's ageing hardware configuration.'
What a lot of bull! another marketing strategy from HTC... THROW AWAY YOUR ''OLD'' MINI AND MINI 2 DEVICES AND BUY 'ONE MINI 3' WHICH WILL BE SOON AWAILABLE AND HAVE LOLIPOP!
I am officially saying that i WAS a HTC fan (my last 4 devices was htc's = hero - desire - sensation - one mini) but seeing what a lot of bulls they have done for consumers(even more than apple) on it's devices next device im considering some other company than HTC!
Sorry but they have finnaly lost me with it stupid money making scheme rather than thinking for consumer ! :crying: This is too much now!
Guess who won't be buying any HTC device. FU HTC.
I would not write it off yet. HTC UK just posted new updates page here . One mini is listed there so it is supposed to receive additional update at some point.
