Desire s... a disappointment... or is it

I think the new desire s is well exactly the same as the desire but with different design gingerbread and a new CPU which isn't even a dual-core. The processor is fast I know but with honeycomb for smartphone and the sgs 2 coming soon it will be unable to compete. I'm not sure about it... anyway least desire we will get some sense with gingerbread
EDIT: I've kind of changed my mind about this, I like the desire s it fixes everything wrong with the desire. It's not much of an update from the desire. It's not amazing, its not crap it just very very good.

It's the phone that's leaked so far already, if the specs are as similar to the stock Desire as they say I won't be bothered

Thats big dissapointment... last year HTC was the best with top hardware, but today even LG is able to do more powerful phones. Goodbye HTC.

This is only the spec on 1 phone, if the HD2 surfaces as thought it could be awesome

DS looks basically like a 'woops, yes the original desire's internal memory was a bit shocking so here's a fix for it, thanks for your cash' sort of release...
Yes they can push out a phone with single core etc. for now because by the time people actually _need_ a dual core will probably be another year - but the only thing the DS looks good for is to make people happy who don't want a big phone (i.e. DHD), and don't already have a Desire

This phone is for new customers. Why you nerds need to upgrade like every month to new phone I will be happy with my Desire for several years... Been using it now over 6 months...

You might be happy with phone like that for quiet a long time, but not everybody is like that, and to be honest, htc not anouncing a dualcore phone is BIG disapointment, coz HTC was already one of the tech leaders, delivering the latest solutions, and I still cannot believe, that HTC is dropping this completely, and taking the mainstream Facebook way instead, they will surely make loads of money on those facebook phones, but missing the top class highend might actually do some damage on reputation...

Part of me wonders if this is an interesting approach - a sort of;
1) get more people on android with nice 'mid-range' CHEAPER android phones
2) wait to see what everyone else brings out
3) bring out something better
To be honest - I think it'll be another year before I upgrade... this year is going to be mayhem for phones and I can see everyone signing up for contracts left right and centre to get something awesome - then (as usual) something better comes along

As per my source the SGS2 is getting launched on May 13th. Stuck between a very tough decision. To go in for the SGS2 or wait for the Sensation. Heart says wait for Sensation, but have been surviving without a cell phone for almost a week now. My HD2 gave up the ghost.

Yes,but please try to read the full article..Source was Samsung Mobile India{the dumbest Samsung Service anywhere in India}.
They have clearly mentioned in their facebook/twitter page regarding April launch in India{hence the article},blame it to HTC Sensation 1.2 Ghz raw power which forced Sammy to brush up SGS 2 to 1.2Ghz{hence the delay}.But it has launched in April{not in India though}

I hear you. I have been itching to upgrade with multiple upgrades available on my accounts. I dont want to fork over full price for the Galaxy Nexus like I did with the previous two and want to actually use my upgrade this year. I hope tmobile releases this on 4/4 .

@shadow.8 - I believe TMobile is only getting the gray/blue model (I hope I'm wrong). See the following thread for a little related anecdotal evidence, which points in that direction.

I hope not, I really like the black look...

I'm just itching to get my hands on the One S. I had already waited patiently for the GNex, but was sorely disappointed with it and decided to wait for HTC's next wave and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. HTC always make such high quality phones. They really are Quietly Brilliant!

yeah i think there are many people that were disappointed with the galaxy nexus. initially i thought about waiting for the galaxy s3 but all leaked renders show an extremely ugly device (again) and even if it will look different i'm quite sure that it will be ugly some way or another

the black version is 'micro arc oxidated', the grey is anodized. both frames are aluminium but the finish on the black version is harder.

the take the grey version. i think it will be hard enough as long as you don't try to scratch it on purpose

Is anodized a cheaper process? If so I would think the Grey version may be cheaper than the black version outright. Or maybe that is why Tmobile USA is getting the grey version.

That's possible. Both finishes are extremely high quality but the micro arc oxidation process is more rare in smartphones.
I actually think I like the grey version better. Looks reminiscent of the Nexus One, which is still probably my favorite Android design from HTC.

@Hgaara - I asked a similar question in another XDA thread & so far, it doesn't appear TMobile US is getting the black MAO model. I posed my original question as I did because I found several sources which say only the gray anodized model is coming to TMo, although the information gathered so far is anecdotal. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

FWIW, I also refer you to the gradient anodized model which was featured in the leaked video of 3/27/2012 from a YouTube poster who said his unbranded [pre-release] phone was a T-Mobile model.​

Seems like the USA version of One, while still amazing, are kinda gimped. I wonder why no MOA version for tmobile.

I think complete HTC one series is included in HTC Advantage program. In US site, E8 is mentioned under HTC Advantage. But I can't find it in Indian site.
Also till now, HTC has only released statement for releasing Lollipop for M7 and M8 under HTC Advantage.

The Lollipop update will come to the One devices, obviously to those which released last year. Just don't know when. Probably by January next year.

E8 will get lollipop in between jan and march here is the link and pictures

Kitkat 4.4.4 with Eye Experience
If we are going to get Lollipop next year, i sincerely hope we will get a 4.4.4 update with eye experience features before that because three months is too long to wait for those features. Anybody got an update on that?

According to the HTC Software Updates page, the HTC Eye Experience for this device is currently in the Integration stage for the Sprint E8.
I would assume the International/WWE versions would be getting it very soon.

I guess not. HTC usually reserves the new version of Sense for a flagship launch. So we'll get that later on I hope. For now, it'll be Lollipop with Sense 6, maybe 6.5 if they want so, somewhere around February-March.

So for the Sprint E8, there's still some time remaining before the update is even certified for testing with Sprint. I'd imagine the WWE version would be completed sooner, probably around the time the Sprint version gets to the certification stage.
But I assume you'll get the update eventually . . .

According to the news I've read on many places, we may even skip 4.4.4 and directly get Android L along with the eye experience!
Another thing which we need to get used to is that we can't keep comparing to M8, it's still the flagship, it will get way more frequent updates. We should just hope we get it along, even if it's a bit later. I'm getting accustomed to this fact. Here in India, I still run 4.4.2 and I think the next update I'll get is L. But I do hope to get it soon, and whenever I do get it, it's flawless. [Obviously I won't mind being surprised even tomorrow morning. lol.]

Android P Update is Coming

Spoke to the Live support for an issue I was having, thought I'd ask about Android P update coming to our phones. Seems like it is! :fingers-crossed:
Mobile Support
As of August 2018 Google, has begun to roll out Android P to select Pixel Phones. Razer will be working with Google to release Android P for the Razer Phone. We do not have a defined release date yet and the dates may vary based on your region and mobile provider. That’s my guess as well. Logically I’d assume it would be much faster considering the P GSIs already work for the most part. If the Razer Phone 2 launches with P, it might be sooner than that though.

Just got off web chat with razer support. They said the mobile team are in the 'middle' of releasing pie.
No idea how long that means.

It said in article that Razer rolling update for Razer Phone 2 on 27th Feb, hope Razer 1 will have update at the same time.

Gave up on all things Razer had a full desk set Blackwidow v2 keyboard naga trinity mouse
kraken v2 7.1s firefly chroma mat and a razer orb weaver, razer phone 1 and pretty much every phone case made including the official ones and some that were 3d printed, and hammerhead usb cs I bought with the phone, Min-Liang Tan made some huge boasts on the support side regular updates fast fixes he's full of crap talks bigger than he can back up abandoned like the nextbit robin guys, anyone who buys stuff of razer pray you don't have a warranty claim , synapse 3 has been beta for 2 years and it still doesn't support half their products, 1 product can mean having to run v2 and v3 and either set your lighting to a fixed colour as chroma wont sync between the 2 programs.
TL:dr good hardware let down by mickey mouse software

In any case, the fact that they released Pie for aura makes me hope cheryl gets it too. I certainly don't expect it these days, but maybe in the future.

At least update the security patch or make the phone work better with GSI.

yeah the razer 2 support site says under evaluation and razer support told me "still under evaluation", then thanks for your patience, all we can do is be patient, and thanks for the positive attitude.
