This is the invitation received to the “First-to-knowers” around the world.
The Google Samsung event originally planned for Oct. 11 was postponed, as we know, in respect to the passing of Steve Jobs.
Finally we got an official date of Oct. 19th in Hong Kong. This is without a doubt the unveiling of Ice Cream Sandwich.
The event begins at 10:00 AM in Hong Kong, so if you’re here in the US like I am, tune your browser to the Android Channel in Youtube at 10PM EST on Oct 18th for the live broadcast.
Who’s ready???? Let us know in the comments.
Can't wait, Im ready to upgrade my Nexus one.
There is at least one person that is ready.
Hell yeah! We all ready to taste some Icecream.
Especially my SGS2
YEAH!!!
I hope there is a upgrade for sgsl i9003...
Cause upgrades for these android phone comes very late and slow...
My Nexus S is longing for a bite!!
Galaxy S waiting for a whole tray of Ice-cream
Whoop, can't wait for a great ice cream rom cooks away Does anyone know if it's true they've worked out a way to get the mini usb port to work like the crapple apple connector dock. If it is I'm ecstaticcly waiting for the many third party docks, that will make my Samsung Galaxy SII bloom
How come no one has stolen one of those statues yet? lol. There has got to be some serous apple cultisit/fanatics running around willing to do it.
I'll be too busy sleeping to watch (it's at 3am UK time).
Desire HD? Ready!
Man thank goodness we did not have to wait a whole month more. I am really ready to see just what ICS has to offer to make Android even better. Not to mention the sooner the release the sooner my HTC Sensation will get a upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS. I have seen videos and pics showing how ICS has taken and incorporated things found in Honeycomb for tablets into the OS for phones. I have also seen talk of the default browser possibly being Google Chrome or at least Google Chrome being available in a app for Android with ICS, which means we will finally have true tabbed web browsing capabilities One thing is for sure I am excited about ICS.
I can't wait. The music app looks and feels great, only dislike I have is the damn widget (album art, Google! There's a reason it exists, USE IT with the widget!). Plus I'm really looking forward to seeing what the devs do with it.
DO you guys think existing devices (everybody except sammy) will get smooth pinch to zoom like sgs2?
Samsung galaxy nexus aka nexus prime priced at $299.99 on Verizon......
Can't wait!! Now the question remains, which one of my devices will get a ROM first? Glacier or Iconia? It'll be nice to finally have the same Android version on both devices. Unity ftw!
IVE GOT AN ICE CREAM HEADACHE waiting for this baby to come out!!
Can't wait hope it comes out for the Optimus One from our awesome Devs
I hope they don't take forever to bring this beast to T-Mobile. Even though I'm going to have to buy this badboy out right, no upgrade for me

A very reliable source at HTC India (Delhi Office) claims that the HTC sensation after its UK launch , will hit the Indian Shores soon after that.

That's good news. I'm in dilemma, choosing in between this and SGS2. But I love sense

Didn't you say samsung india would release the SGS2 on April 17th? Did that happen?
As per my source the SGS2 is getting launched on May 13th. Stuck between a very tough decision. To go in for the SGS2 or wait for the Sensation. Heart says wait for Sensation, but have been surviving without a cell phone for almost a week now. My HD2 gave up the ghost.

Yes,but please try to read the full article..Source was Samsung Mobile India{the dumbest Samsung Service anywhere in India}.
They have clearly mentioned in their facebook/twitter page regarding April launch in India{hence the article},blame it to HTC Sensation 1.2 Ghz raw power which forced Sammy to brush up SGS 2 to 1.2Ghz{hence the delay}.But it has launched in April{not in India though}
Can't we get HTC Sensation before JUNE ? ? ?
Or it's still geting launched at it's previous date ? ? ?
Plz tell if it's may be launching in INDIA bit sooner . . . .
I think 22nd june it is!!!
Friends pre order started, availability is around 3rd or 4th week of this month
Its here now... 30.2K

Remember when we told you those other Android Honeycomb tablets were going to geta helping of 3.1 in early June? Well get ready! Sources have told us that Asus will be releasing its over-the-air update early next week.
WOOO!!!
Oh snap! Was pretty stoked after seeing that french video earlier with the TF running 3.1 but after reading this I'm super stoked!
Like I said in the other thread on this topic D), if Asus DOES release 3.1 next week, I'll be damned impressed with how they're supporting the Transformer so far. Damned impressed.
i can't wait to get my transformer next week...perfect timing
I just cant see myself ever buying from another company other than ASUS and this is why. coming from a samsung device *and we all know the story with them* and there crappy touchwiz that u automatikly cover up with adw ex or launcher pro. I feel that my paycheck goes the extra mile when i buy products from ASUS. *ass kissing done lol*

Updates to Samsung phones in the US have mostly been down to the cell companies and not due to Samsumg themselves.
sweet, i hope the 3.1 custom rom will release asap too after the official update.
Looking forward to next week.

Dec 22/2012: LG just released ICS for Optimus 3D...
*boom* the world ends
Why dont they just say March or April.. instead they will have people hyped in December for nothing just like they did with GB ...
LG Life aint that good!
glad to know that mate...but i'll be much happier if i know exactly the time...
It say's december this year.Maybe Lg will do a good thing finaly us
Great news.
Like I said over on Thrill forum. We are all a bit bitter with LG around here but, I am going to give them a chance and hope for a first quarter 2012 release.
Hopefully arcee hasnt given up on us also. Truth be told, I am happy with GB right now and just knowing that LG has ICS coming at some point is good for me. I am sticking with this phone for the duration of my 2 year contract and I am the type of person that usually keeps a phone until it breaks or it has been so long the tech is unsupported so I can wait.

I second that, if you see the reasons that took to bring gingerbread so late: New Video Editor, Radio enhancements for increase in network speed, 3D framework (not piece of cake).
I give full credit to LG to provide us good features at cost of some time.
Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus 3D and Optimus LTE are the eligible candidate to get Ice Cream Sandwich. The exact time schedule will be communicated in December......

Ironically, communication companies are sometimes the worst at communicating!
I love LG. Now I have Optimus 7 and Optimus 3D and they are Mega cool. My previous phone was HTC Desire.
I am pretty happy with gingerbread. And I don't care if lg is updating to ice cream sandwich or not. Because I am sure that we will have ics from cyanogen in some month

I'm sorry if this has been discussed. Will AT&T ever get this device? If not where is the best place to purchase an unlocked GSM version of it? Thank You!
Pretty sure you could buy the AT&T version from Best Buy for ages now.

its not that bad of a question. If you live some place where Best Buy isn't or just ignore that inglorious box of blue stained diaper filler you'd not know that the i9020A was available there.
That said, having gone from a Captivate to a Nexus S myself, you might want to sit on your wallet for a bit and wait for the Galaxy Nexus to finally come to AT&T. I made the leap knowing that the captivate and nexus S are more or less the same hardware only because I knew the Galaxy Nexus was going to be uncomfortably large in my hands.
From an Android standpoint, a captivate with Cyanogen or some other AOSP based ROM will work and act like a Nexus S. Only real reason to move is if you want AOSP without having to work for it
The NS was never available at an AT&T store but only at Best Buy. This is why there is no AT&T branding as it really isn't a AT&T "supported" phone.

I haven't posted here since November 2014. As the KitKat+ OS mods became too heavy for Infuse, and whereas the video was a fail since those mods, I ported back to Gingerbread. Yes, I still am using my Infuse, although I have replaced the screen (a fun learning experience). However, when the new Nexus phone comes out in August (or a little later), I'm considering retiring this work horse (emphasis on only "considering").
Anyway, any of the old veterans still around?

Goodbye Infuse, Hello Pixel XL
Well, after many years of faithful service from my Infuse, I finally let it go for a Google Pixel XL. It served me well, was a little workhorse, but never really could handle KitKat (I had to return it to Gingerbread). I bid that faithful phone a grateful farewell.

That made me laugh so hard.
I'm still around, veteran of the Infuse, my first Galaxy experience. I don't use it anymore since a very long time, but still keep it as a treasure i guess
I made a lot of friends here thanks to that phone
I still have it on unofficial cm11 and it looks as gorgeous as before. I have to admit I still keep it because I don't want to sell it for less than $50
It still has its original battery which holds like 1 hour of charge when using although it has excellent standby time! It's like my sophisticated 13GB pen drive.
Just dusted off my Infuse because...
Gave away my Note 3. Infuse started me wanting a big phone so I could leave my notebook home.
The Infuse feels so good in my hands.
I now use Huawei P8MAX & a Rii keyboard as my phone/notebook.
Just remembered the reviews saying how few people would buy the Infuse because it was so big. One reviewer called it a "monstrous phone." LOL

I still keep mine going in case my LG V20 becomes unusable for some reason (that happened once, and it happened a couple of times on my Galaxy S4). The Infuse 4G makes for a good "temporary" phone while I wait for parts to arrive.
