There are plenty of them around. Just search "proximity screen" or something related in the play store. Some are feature-rich and some are very simple. Just depends on your taste.
BTW, I think this should be in Themes & Apps, but I'm not a mod, so, we'll see

Yea... But i want to know if these apps use more power because of proximity sensor instead of that magnet which is used in original case

In speaking out of experience when I say they do. The proximity sensor is usually off when not making a call.

One's that rely on sensors does not work well, you need to enable extra sensitivity as the touch does not work too well, although they don't work too well, the menu has much more feature than the OEM. I have a few from different brand lying around, they come with a scratch card with a code and a link to download a app, the code is used to enable to app.
photo's are not in order, I have also the remax to work with the chipset just like the OEM one.

Damn those look kinda cool! Is it possible these apks would work for the oem case? If so could you post them here as well?
The APK does not work with the OEM, the OEM rely on the magnet located at the bottom of the cover, these cover has the magnet at the top, the remax also has the magnet at to bottom, and a cut out for the chipset just like the OEM, so I have added a chipset on the cover and it will work just like the OEM.
The APK also needs a code to activate it, otherwise it will not work.
I tried using a 3rd party s-view case from spiegen and holy crap it was horrendous. I'm not really sure which manufacturers might actually have a half decent app s-view app, but it certainly wasn't spiegen. Ended up returning it and going for the genuine Samsung one.

I've tried many apps for the s view covers, non of them are acceptable, too much lagg and most of the time does not work, just stick with a good non oem/oem cover using the chipset.

totally agree on this one. if you think about it all this product is is a flashlight made to fit on the back of the phones.
Exactly, and I assume you can buy a small LED flashlight at the dollar store

I think 11alex11 is asking for something that fits nicely into the phone and that looks as it was included in the backplate.

Well, I wouldn't call "simple" a heavy brick in the pocket with two batteries but hey... better than nothing!
the adventage of two batterys it´s that normally you have the battery-led charge, but you need to recharge for to be power when you need to use it or change, with the inconvenient of power off, dismount, change and mount.
the ideal , if you use this size, it´s a long battery , and the led take power for the long-battery how on the original iphone 3d case-led, for example,
http://www.momax.net/en/Product_Show.aspx?ID=1312&T=1
but with a led incorporated, desing, durability, and the led, how difficult it´s to do it?
i bought a momax and i want to try to put a led,if it´s run ok send my idea here.

I assume Samsung understood this mistake and give us Galaxy S 2 WITH flash light. It is tiny light but better than nothing for poor light condition for the camera. Almost every devices in this range are equipped with some kind a flash light so why SGS is not?
According to the phone specs, it doesn't support NFC.
But there are two metal contacts in the back, near the battery, that connect to the back cover.
Removing the back cover doesn't seem to affect gsm, wifi, bluetooth or gps reception.
So I am wondering if it could be some hidden NFC support and whether there is a way to test it.
Photograph for your viewing pleasure.

Doesn't seem...If there would be NFC support in the device, then Samsung would surely reveal that feature when the phone was launched..because it will directly increase their sales. But they didn't..no chance for NFC..

Seems to NOT be the case....
List of NFC-Phones
Would be neat if there's a possibility to get it, some how....
Yes, I know about the specs, but what about my photos? What could these metal contacts to the back cover be?
The kernel source (released from Samsung) hasn't any NFC driver related code apart from the chipset's support for NFC chips.
In the ROM there is firmware for the PN544 (the NFC chip of Nexus S) but libnfc.so is missing. I tried copying it just in case from a Nexus S 2.3.4 ROM but it didn't work of course.
Since some i9103s are supposed to be NFC enabled, I guess it may just be that part of the NFC hardware is there because differentiation in some parts would make for bigger manufacturing costs but some other parts (like the actual NFC chip) are missing.
I still hope though!

May be NFC not annonced cause it ICS feature, so it will be revealed later, when galaxy royal will be upgrated to ICS. For now they dont actually need to increase 9103 sales, they want to sell galaxy II as much as possible first. IMHO.

Your metallic pins are used for inductive charging pads (usually stick inside back of the case or over the battery).
^^^ is right... Galaxy s3 has it too... It's for wireless charging.... I think the methods to add wireless charging (using the palm pixie back cover) to s3 even works for this...

It looks nice and all but in the end, it's nearly the same as having an NFC tag on your keychain and scanning it even though it seems to offer some more possibilities. The real problem is that it takes the earphones port so you can't listen to your music while you use it.
Also, how do you remove it ?
I just want to know whether the phone needs to be 'unlocked' in order to access these functions. Say i want to take a photo, can i just whip out the phone and click it or do i need to unlock my phone (enter password) first? I wonder...
I saw that you can do it with the screen off so ill back it. seems cool enough
EDIT: so I asked the creator and he said it works when phone is locked with a pin. cool! i might get two now...

Can you plug headphones into it? It'll fit. Whether it becomes too recessed to press easily or not, who knows. Depends on the phone/case.
Still not sure if I love this idea or hate it. The only button I could really see on my phone as useful would be for the cam but would depend on how that button works with my case.

They're shipping in March, only $27. I might just have to order one (Not affiliated, just sharing the info).

Fascinating, I want one, but not sure if I really need one
I think virtually all cases will need have the speaker jack hole expanded, since I think this will have to sit a millimetre higher, and another millimeter wider than the hole itself. Also, you need to get your finger onto it!
Some DIY needed.
This is another awesome Israeli product
Looks very nice. I wonder how it goes with cases.
Did someone tried it already?
I nearly backed this project, but the only thing I could think of what I'd use it for is for the camera, but you can already use the volume rocker to take a picture.
$27 for a "button"... no ty, actually my headphones can do that
mmmm yeah ear phone jack not nice, now if it was bluetooth.....
I backed this early. For me, I don't want my power button to wear out as much so this is perfect for me. The gestures are nice touch as well.

Remarks : I do 30-50 emails daily on S5.
It looks cool, though I worry about the magnet doing something to the phone over time. Probably unfounded though.
Otherwise, yeah, I've been waiting for some sort of S5 equivalent to this:
No one has comment... any one using it? Good keys for typing?
RodimusConvoy, where is your picture from? It has no S5 model yet?

As far as I know, there are no versions of this for the S5, there's only versions for the S3 and S4.
I'm not sure who originally made it, as a bunch of copycats/clones have popped up. I originally saw it at Minisuit, but when I go to the website I see its no longer available. But if you put "sliding bluetooth keyboard" in parenthesis in Google, you'll get hits including where to buy it. For instance, NewEgg has it.
Though that doesn't help if you own the S5 . What you showed may be the only alternative for people who want a keyboard with the S5. And it doesn't look bad, just wondering about that magnet.
I've always been curious about this kind of case. I was looking at this one. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/galaxy-s5-slide-out-bluetooth-qwerty-keyboard-black-p45647.htm

Its an S4. The phone in that picture is identical to the one in the pic I posted. That site is pulling a fast one. If you look at the S5, those three "dots" are all to the RIGHT of that tiny bar at the top, plus its corners are squared compared to the rounded S4.
I saw the same thing at Alibaba. It looks like people are taking advantage of the fact people want a keyboard for their S5 by misrepresenting what they're selling.

Yes, I'm very late with this response.
I didn't like it. I found the keyboard inconveniently small, and the corners of the case that clipped onto the phone broke within a few months of use. I'm still looking for a keyboard case for this phone that will give me an experience comparable to having a true QWERTY slider, and I'm really POed that there are no current options available for one.
Samsung is apparently making keyboard cases for the S6 and one of the Tabs that approximate the old Blackberry feel. Not what I'd prefer, but I wish they'd do one for the S5, so I could at least give it a try.
Hi All,
I've recent bought a Bloom Case, but anytime I try to install its app baseus site, in order to manage the right translucent band, I get an error: App not installed.
The case itself without the software is pretty pointless.
Has anyone faced the same issue before? I'm running the latest lollipop official firmware.
Thanks

Damn looks cool too bad its been getting horrible reviews.
I just ordered mine from Amazon. Will arrive in about two weeks. I noticed you mentioned you had the official Lollipop firmware installed? Perhaps the Android version you're running isn't compatible with the app?
I'm running the latest stock KitKat firmaware. Will see if it works when it arrives. I'll report back when it does. Cheers!
I purchased my case, the software is buggy to say the least but still love it. I'm still on stock KitKat & had no issues with software installation. I get many compliments on it for its uniqueness. The music feature doesn't work (it only plays a second or two of music then stops), drains battery, interface is sometimes difficult to press icons and software is in Chinese language. All these negative things against it but I still love it. The look and feel is top notch and again very unique side bar interface. I bought 2, full black & red with black side bar interface. Both on eBay one from China for under $7 and one locally in the states for under $16

So my case arrived today. Installed the software and I have to say although I can't get the Cloud (weather) icon to do anything, I like this case. It adds a little more privacy than the S-View case. Even the notifications are more discreet. With that said, there are a few quirks like the music player only playing a second or two of music (when the cover is closed), and the icons staying on until you press the power key. Hope these get addressed at some point, but these aren't deal breakers to me. The feel of the case is like thin soft leather and the inside is lined with light felt. Anyway, for $13 on Amazon, I think it's a bargain if you're looking for a flip cover type case. This case is like the Note Edge, without the Edge part. ?
