GPS functionality
The 20141014 build seems to have issues resolving GPS signals versus 20141010 and prior.
I can only "lock" signal under clear skies and no cover with the new build.
Prior builds, rooted TouchScreen builds and the "stock" builds have no issues finding /locking GPS under cover (within reason anyhow, effective Faraday buildings notwithstanding), e.g. while sitting at my desk.
Even as little shelter as my car provides "blocks" signal for the 20141014 build, but not for the others as mentioned above.
Hopefully this can be fixed in the next release along with the vibration bug.
No issues whatsoever with GPS lock on 10/14 build. This is from the bottom floor of a three story brick condo. Agreed that vibe not working though.

But i have a problem, with samsung stock based roms, when i use S-pen, the physical buttons dont works, so if i hold accidentaly recents or back button while im writing the buttons dont works, What can i do to disable while im writing like in samsung stock? It is possible? Its importante for me becausei use this tablet for taking notes at university

With all this great work, providing CM11 on the P900; does that mean we may one day see CM12 for this machine? i.e. will the P900 become a fully supported member of the CM family?
First off thanks for the much needed custom rom! I am very greatfull!
Here are some issues i am having
1 . printing to myhp printer doesnt work properly on cm i tried installing hp app but it dosnt find the printer a lot of the time, and on stock it wrked flawlessly, also on stock when i printed a photo from galary i had both hp print option and a red samsung logo print option that had more capabilities such as greyscale and resizing , now there is no samsung option ,i reallyvlikevthat samsung printing so i tried installing samsung print from playstore but it doesnt connect to the hp printer and its not what was on stock cause there is no red logo option when i print from galary.
2. How do i extract snote from stock nandroid backup to install on cm i tried com.snote blah blah and it didnt work if someone could point me to the apk that would be great
3. Cifs/samba kernal support for mounting windows shares to the local filesystem, Could someone release a kernal supporting cifs or a kernal module i feel it is appropriate function for this tablet , was surprised samsung had not included it for thier " productivity tablet"

No. P900 only, must have Exynos CPU.
Newest CM11 Build
Had the latest build and am experiencing no camera functionality and longer boot times. But, the ROM is otherwise stable and smoother than Touch Wiz.
This is on the P900 also.

Question: I am only able to connect to my 2.4 ghz part of my router not the 5G speed. I have installed the extra kernel with VT. Should I flash original kernel?

I have to agree with bonuzz's "Option #2" - less frequent updates (barring bugfixes), stable versions, maintain good battery life.
If you decide to support only one or two flavors of AOSP ROM, I'd vote for CM, followed by Omni.
While custom kernels are always great - as long as I can set the included kernel to "ondemand", I'm a pretty happy camper.

Now that my SM-P900 works again (the touchscreen functionality was broken) I would love to be able to play some SNES/N64 ROMs on that huge tablet.
Unfortunately I had to realize that my XBOX 360 Controllers doesn't work with this CM11 version.. after asking Google I found out that it may be caused by the not loaded xpad.ko kernel module.
Is there a way to load it manually? Or do I have to recompile the ROM with the module enabled? If yes, how to do this?

Battery life is about 6-hr SOT, mixed lighting
I don't believe in benchmarks when comparing ROMs
Increase Volume?
Is there any way to increase the volume? The sounds, media, ringtones, etc sound really low even when they are at the maximum level.
Missing Options From Menu
So far loving this rom. However, I can't find the "Stylus Gestures" or "Show icon when using stylus" under the Language and input category. When I search the menu they are list as results, but they are not actually in the menu. Am I missing something?

I'd also like to help but no computer, if there's anything I can do like test, let me know. I'd like to see sense on Droid. Even better when its done it gets themed. The mytouch 3g had ported over to my Eris when I had it had nice themeing.

Awesome! I was bummed that they cancelled the Zeusdroid project, especially all of the support and donations that poured in. I just wish they would release their work to benefit everyone else.

Was taking a look into ZeusDroid, which did work (except for the whole phone issue) and some of the running Milestone versions of sense and seeing about a FrankenDroid.

This is for the TF101G, don't be silly and flash it. Lets pick things apart and see if there's anything to be had for the TF101 rom base and/or kernel. Since the kernel source in the past has had provisions for the entire array of Asus models, I see no reason why this kernel would be TF101G exclusive. Lets sort it out.

Hey Blades call me silly I doubt this will help but what the hey... I nvflashed it on a TF101. It runs fine and rooted with Universal live cd v3 and installed CWM and upped that with Roach's CWM. Then got really bored and flashed netarchy netformer 1.6. Wi-Fi and bluetooth were upgraded from 8.6.5.7. The kernel version looks a little silly . Check it out for yourself.

That's great. That does help. Keep in mind that since the wifi firmware was updated, the bcm4329 source might've been updated too - same goes for anything else with a firmware update. That may or may not cause problems. I'll check to see if the bcm files changed at all.

whenever you try and do that presents you with multiple app options to proceed (think opening a video, and HC asks you which app to open it with)...the semi-transparent overlay shows up, but not the menu. the TF needs to be rotated to fix it.

it's a very boring bug....
it occurs every time system boots docked or it's in landscape mode (without dock)..
What is the toolkit required to deodex apps? I notice that many of the apks are newer/different and I want to check them out.

Clever idea, just tested this myself. Surprisingly, pressing enter while the screen is dimmed *doesn't* select anything. If the menu has appeared on-screen pressing enter works (for example, if you do the rotate trick and then redock), but if the menu hasn't appeared on-screen pressing enter does nothing.

Hi cky2000, are you still using this rom? and hows it running as you would have had a few days with it.
I am on Prime 1.7 and have been lucky as Ive not had some of the issues others have and was looking to see what else is about.

It ran fine. I've been running it off & on and with different kernels available to us. Truth be told, I couldn't tell the difference between this (TF101G)8.6.6.9 or WW.8.6.5.7 or US.8.6.5.6 versions.
IMO: I would stick with Prime 1.7 and it looks like there testing 1.8.1 (it's pretty solid so far ). I tell ya, I'm having some fun with Blades new kernel too. That thing is a trip

Hey Blades here is a screen shot (stock) of the 8.6.5.8 for (SL101) on a TF101. Rooted with the live cd (bla bla bla kernels and CWM) and everything is working. I really don't notice any difference between all the stock roms. Just doing it because we can......

I think the GPS versions changed in the 8.6.5.7, for what reason I have no idea. Asus posted up the new 8.6.5.9 (for TF101) this morning on there TW ftp. I nvflashed both US & WW and they have GPS 5.5.8

Exactly where is the gps 'firmware' located on the system.img? Same going for bluetooth... Any idea what 'brand' the gps chip is?
Not sure about the location of the gps firmware (lol haven't looked), but according to TechRepublic it's a "Broadcom BCM4751 Integrated Monolithic GPS Receiver".

sorry for bragging this issue but it's kind of rude if someone made this kind of post when he isn't the one who build the rom. believe me, I'm telling this for your own's sake. if you're not the one who build it someone might accuse you from stealing FXP's work. if you're not the one who develop it you'd better delete this thread or change the subject into something else.

Hi There, I've tested both; the FXP201 as well as the cm-10-20121227-UNOFFICIAL-jlo from here:

both are very good and have very nice features....but both have quite simmilar problems:
1. Camera still rotated and Gallery shuts down after taking a picture.....
POSSIBLE SOLVE: I've used Camera MX App which shows preview correctly and takes foto too. But still got problems with the video function.
2. Cannot Listen to Music neither Via Bluetooth Stereo Headset nor Wired Headset....
STILL GOT THIS PROBLEM!!!! I've tested bout 5 headsets, still the same problem of "recognition"!!!
3. I've got the problem with the notification bar (stuck, freeze,...) with both ROMS....but solved with the hints posted here (edit build.prop)
In case you have to take a decision, updating/flashing from cm-10-20121227-UNOFFICIAL-jlo to FXP201, i wouldn't do it, because in my opinion the cm-10-20121227-UNOFFICIAL-jlo runs much better, the FXP201 have some problems with the processes i think, because it gets stuck, not everytime, not for long (1-2 sec.); but it does.
Maybe someone have another idea fixing the headset issue....?!

Illumination bar not working in CM10 for Xperia J
I just updated to fxp 202 . The previous bugs have been fixed but the illumination bar is not at all working in thius build. Previously it was working in the other version.
I tried the illumination bar notification too , that too is not working . Please let me know if this issue has been solved or not.
I've just installed fxp202. Seems everything works well except notification led. Any solution?

I have a problem with my galaxy note 10, I noticed that in some apps this orientation is tilted by 90 degrees, so instead of down, the left side of the screen is down. Can anyone help me with a solution to recalibrate the gyroscope?
The happens in more than 1 app and also happens in live walpaper so I don t think it s app related.

Which live walpaper are you using? I use an app called ultimate rotation control to force the an to any which way I please, at any given time. The app has an option to lock a certain orientation that can be set whenever you want to keep a certain orientation, no matter which way you turn the tablet. The app has free 7 day trial and can be found in the Google play store. If you buy the pro key, the app will keep working after your 7 day trial.

Hi, Some of the apps where the gyroscope is visibly out of sync are Sensor kinetics - gyroscope demo and all other Hardware tester apps, VR tunnel live Wallpaper and all similar live wallpapers., Skull 3D live wallpaper, It s weird because for photosphere and Google Sky map it works but for other gyrospope specific apps, and i have tested allot, it is not. There has to be a way to recalibrate the Gyroscope like the Level apps have for the accelerometer.

Interesting.... Are you running a stock or custom Rom?
Hi, I just switched 3 different ROMS, just to see if this is ROM related.... it's not, same problem on all ROMS i did not try Android 4.3 CM ROMS, only the stock like ROMS, but i really enjoy using the pen, it keeps the screen clean and working with it is precise and i also use multitasking quit allot, more than i thought when i bought the tablet. I will try to make a video and pot it on YouTube and here, maybe i will get some help, but it's weird when you tilt your tablet back and it tilts the image to the left. I have found similar problems on other galaxy phones, but not on the note 10.1.

mate i advise you to not spam the dev threads with the same question.. it's selfish and it will only annoy people and you won't get the help you badly wanted in return..
this is the right place to ask so be patient and wait for responses..
first can you post a screenshot?... and have you tried doing a factory reset or reflash full-wipe?..

Hi, sorry for posting all over, I'm freaking out a little, and I'm just hoping someone will be able to help me with this. I attached some GIF's to this post, hopefully you will be able to see the animations.
I tried wipe data factory reset, and i wipe before every new ROM, 3 different ROMS. Is there any way i can reset Gyroscope stats like Reset Battery stats?
There was supposed to be a Calibrate Menu like in other Galaxy Phones, but it seems that the tablet does not have that.

I want to make my aging galaxy tab 2 7.0 as fast as possible so what would be a good rom that performs fast and smooth on it? Right now I am using cyanogenmod 11 and it runs very slow in opening apps and menus. Sometimes it performs ok but it feels like it is bogging down.

Performance is indeed terrible with all current ROMs. This is because Trim support is disabled in all current ROMs. This means that performance is normal at first but soon becomes too slow to use. This can take a few weeks of light use or just a few days with intensive use. Simply playing a 3D game becomes impossible, applications start very slowly and run horribly slow, the keyboard is often unresponsive and so on.
The reason for Trim being disabled is that some tablets and phones have a firmware bug in their onboard flash memory/controller combo which can be triggered by Trim. It is possible but very unusual to totally brick the device with no possibility of recovery. Developers have been extremely cautious about this and preferred to disable Trim.

The only simple way to get good performance is by using the original Samsung JellyBean firmware which does support Trim. I've had my p3110 for 10 months and have used a few ROMs but I always switched back to Samsung just because the thing becomes genuinely unusable and useless otherwise. I don't have time right now (preparing to move home) but next month I plan to set up a build environment again and make Trim enabled kernels for CM 11, CM 12.1 and maybe current AOSP as I would much prefer to be running a modern, patched OS.
My phone (Note II GT-N7105) is also useless with ROMs because Trim is disabled, but it works great with Samsung KitKat and daily Trim.
btw this issue also affects other devices including from other manufacturers.

Trim is supported by the kernel in 4.2 but not by the Android OS. If you have root you can run Trimmer (or other similar trim app). For example I have Trimmer do a daily trim on my Tab 2.

how do you know it's really working? Is there any command to check that? btw that's very interesting, my tab runs MAG2GB which is not on the afected list so I want to turn this on too Maybe there are some outdated kernels that has this enabled so I'll try that.

The output "# GB trimmed" shows it working. If you perform the same operation on a kernel without Trim support it always shows "0 GB trimmed". The text means something, it's not just coloured pixels
And practical experience confirms this: my Tab 2 running rooted Samsung JB always performs like new. When I ran CM or other ROMs the performance degraded to the point where I couldn't even play a 3D game.
edit: btw my Tab runs EMMC which is on the affected list but I have never had a problem.
trim works with some custom kernels, like next kernel 2.4 so you can use it on 4.4.4 but it works only with ext4 partitions, f2fs is not suported

Thank you for the very detailed and educating post! I noticed in the changelogs for SlimROMS that MMC_CAP_ERASE was re-enabled in Sept 2016 on all ROMS after a fix was found for the brick bug. If I understand correctly, does that mean that flashing newer android versions, such as Slim7 should be just as stable and fast as SlimKat? Or are there still reasons to remain on KitKat (or even original firmware)?
