Looks like Seidio isnt making a holster case for the New Moto X. Its a shame because I want to use there holster for my naked moto X. Does anyone know of a holster thats like a seidio spring clip holster. I also need a good glass screen protector.
tempered glass full front protection
Well I can't post links, but if you check out Bodyguardz full screen protectors, they seem to be pretty nice. Also Verizon offers something similar, however it only covers the viewable screen, rather than the entire front like the Bodyguardz one does.
Hope that helps.

bodyguardz aren't working well on my device; i've tried two (including one installed by att) and both times the left, right and bottom edges would not stay down. might try the Verizon version since it only covers the screen.
Thanks
Good to know. I was going to pick one up today. I guess i will wait a bit longer for more products to release. Thanks for the heads up.
So I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 Seidio spring clip holster for the Moto X 2014. It fits perfect. It was like $27 for the holster. No issue at all. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was the only phone in comparision in size to the Moto X 2014. So im rocking a naked sweet Moto X 2014.
That's exactly what i did as well. Got it from here http://www.shopandroid.com/seidio-spring-clip-holster/4A24A17641.htm

Same place. I order through them because I have a wholesale account and the cost for stuff is so cheap.
How snug is the fit? Does the X rattle or move around? I have a seidio case and holster on my Atrix HD and I really like then. Was thinking of getting a hydrocell leather case but if the fit is snug I will probably get the S5 holster. Would you be able to snap a picture of the X in the holster? Thanks in advance.

It's cheaper on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Spring-Holster-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00JJSPWVG
Pics would be great. I have never seen one of these before. I have always bought the holster similar to what Verizon sells. But with a wood back, I would rather not cover it up.

As stated above, I'd love to see a picture. I have the bumper that's sold through Moto. Might try out one for an LG3 since that's a bit bigger (I think) and I may be able to fit it in.
So I returned the holster and got the PT case/clip for the s5 at best buy and the clear case from verizon it fits the moto x with any case. I post pictures once i get home. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pt-plat...ones/5161574.p?id=1219112464318&skuId=5161574
I received my seido today and it fits the x perfectly. The phone doesn't move around at all. It feels very secure.

Not sure if you want a slightly different look than a nekkid clip-in type belt-case but these look interesting:
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Genu...4272538&sr=8-134&keywords=moto+x+2nd+gen+case
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJYNTK2/ref=pd_luc_nr_02_04_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I ran across them last night in another futile attempt to find something I want...I might get the vertical style (first link). I think maybe with a basic TPU protective cover it's a serviceable combo for how I use my phone all day, at least until the XT1095 version of my fav case comes out, if ever.

I have the vertical one in the top link. It's a nice care if you like leather cases. I was used to a siedio car and holster on my atrix. But I'm quickly getting used to sliding the X out of the leather.

Just got myself the Seidio S5 holster the other day. I ordered it based on phone size measurements and then found this thread which confirmed it fit. The only thing I miss compared to the same holster used with my 2013 Moto X is the cutout in the release clip for the headphone jack. I may end up drilling/machining the slot. I did experiment with using the top clip from the 2013 Moto X holster but the phone while secure was able to move around a little which I didn't like. One option would be to add a whee bit of foam which would take care of the problem and then allow for headphones.
It is nice to have a holster again, this phone sure is slippery though!

I'd love to see pics of this. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Getting a case with a clear/frosted back and using it in a Seidio S5 holster. I'm just unsure which holster to get as there are a couple models for different thickness of cases.
Given the recent Amazon sale, I'm sure there's a recent surge of 2014 Moto X owners (me included). My 2013 bit the dust recently and I've been using my son's old one (he bought a OnePlus 2), and I jumped on the sale at Amazon. I was very disappointed to see that Seidio never made any 2014 Moto X cases/holsters.
Thanks to this thread, I found that the Galaxy S5 is very close in size to the 2014 Moto X. After a lot of looking around I decided to order the Seidio Dilex holster for the Galaxy S5, and the Incipio DualPro case for the Moto X. The case arrived yesterday and holster arrived today, and I have to say it's a perfect fit. If I didn't know any better I would think they were designed to work together.
Like other have noted, the spring clip blocks access to the headphone jack, but that won't affect me; I never use headphones, and I keep my phone upside down in the holster anyway - it seems much easier than constantly flipping the phone around every time I put it in or remove it from the holster.

So let me start by saying I am a big fan of Seidio cases.
First Impression:
Very nice packaging and the looks of the case are great.
Case:
The Neoprene part of the case is very thin. You will notice little added bulk but excellent coverage. However a big point of concern I have is the neoprene is slick. So if you purchased this to protect your new SR it will be great. If one of your complaints with the SR is the back was slick and lacked texture your in for the same experience. After sliding over the Neoprene you slide the outer ring/plastic frame. The outer ring fits nicely over the Neoprene.
Fit:
The Neoprene fits well however to note the rear speaker is covered slightly but all other openings fit well. The outer ring suffers from the same issue for the rear speaker. The case does not really add much bulk which is a plus.
Overall:
This is a very nice case considering the money. I have not noticed the slight covering of the rear speaker to have a adverse effect. I think this offers good protection overall. I think for most people the issue will be the slick aspect of the Neoprene. If I were to give it a rating I would give it a 8 out of 10.
End Result:
I ended up returning the case. The only real issue I had was the Neoprene is just simply too slick. My 2 cents are since the device is sizable I need a textured cover so as to avoid any slipping. I don't want to knock the case but for me its too slick.
Looks nice, but your link is bad. Got a good one?
Nevermind, just clicking on it brings you to the wrong address. You have to copy and paste it into the browser.
How did you order it if it's out of stock? Was it in stock prior? There's no button to purchase.
Fixed the link...
Looks very interesting. Can you post back here after you recieve it and let us know how you like it? I have the otterbox case that is sold in the at&t store and I hate the bulk it adds and it simply makes the phone ugly. Like Gr8Danes I can't place an order for this item since it is out of stock.
This case looks great and appears to be low-profile as well. Tried to order, but all the cases state "Out of Stock", and there's no way to select/add to cart. Hopefully these will be in stock soon. Anyone know of another vendor source?

Don't know how the OP ordered his but it seems these items are still in production and not ready to ship. I can't wait to get a review on one of these as it is exactly what I have been looking for. If it fits well and is as low profile as it looks I will be sold.
It's kinda sad that there aren't that many cases available for the Skyrocket yet. I gave up looking and bought the same thing. Same site. Got the silver for me and the white one for the wife.
These have been in production for a while now, they were originally for the international LTE HD handsets. I just hope they fit ours nicely. Got an email yesterday that my order had already shipped. I'm in NY, it'll be a while...
I reluctantly ordered one of these too. The phone is way too slippery nekkid, so I had to get a case before my new skyrocket goes skyrocketing out of my hand one of these days.
I'm really waiting for someone to create a Barely-There type case for the skyrocket. But until then I'll have some peace of mind with this Neo case.

I may cancel my order from Cretouch for the Neo, and order the Ultra capsule series from Amazon since that case looks thinner than the Neo.

Looks smooth, but a bit more rubbery grip than that stock battery cover on the Skyrocket. But I won't know for sure until it arrives.

I watched a couple of unboxing videos for both the capsule and the neo on GS2 devices. Not sure I agree that the capsule is less bulky. Looks like the capsule has almost no lip around the front edge but than again that lip on the neo will protect the screen better in the case of a drop.
In the video's the overall thickness of the case looks about the same or maybe even a little in favor of the neo. So the real difference is that lip on the front. I like the looks of the neo better. So between the looks and the added drop protection I think I can deal with a small lip.
Be interesting to compare notes after we both receive our cases.

I'll definitely come back and comment on the case when it arrives.
So I ordered the gel type case from Amazon and the Neo from Cretouch's website. I just emailed Cretouch to see if they can cancel my order for the Neo. If they can't, then I'll have 2 cases to try out and comment on.
What does this really protect though?

Not sure who you post is aimed at. If your asking what these cases protect well it would mostly be scratch protection. But during a drop you would probably avoid any deep gashes like I have experienced from dropping my cappy on blacktop.
The neo seems to have a small lip in the front of the phone. This would stop the phone from landing on it's screed during a drop and inhibit the phone from sitting on it's screen when placed face down.

Hey all, I saw that these became available recently. I was thinking about getting one for when I do rougher activites but was concerned about taking away from the slimness of the phone. I already have the OEM HTC matte black slim case. Anyone get this yet or have any feedback on it's build quality, size, weight and fit/finish?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

I am interested as well. I figure the slimness of this phone will help making any decent case that much more appealing. My friend has a case on his S2 and that thing is a BEAST.
im in the same boat. Since the phone is so small, i figured that the otterbox couldn't add that much heft to it. Now i'm anxiously waiting!!
HD2: 4.76" x 2.64" x 0.43"
One S: 5.15" x 2.56" x 0.31"
As you can see, the HD2 was pretty slim for a 4.3" phone, and the defender turns it into a 5.1" x 2.93" x 0.8" beast. It does however protect in every way possible, with lenses over the camera and flash, some sort of rubber membrane over the speakerphone, a rubber flap over the ports, a built in hard screen protector, and soft rubber stretched over strong plastic everywhere else. It comes with a belt holster that rotates and allows the phone to be securely snapped in face first, back first, or rotated 180* and functions as a dual angle kickstand in portrait or landscape. The whole thing is surprisingly light given its strength, but it had one big drawback that otterbox has hopefully resolved by now: it was far too easy to get contaminants underneath the screen protector, and once there it was very difficult to keep clean, clear, and smudge free.
Given the cost difference and my preference to go without a screen protector I'm saving for the case mate tough case, and for day to day use I'm happy with my diztronic.
For the Commuter case the dimensions on Otters site are 5.4 in x 2.81 in x 0.56 in
For the Defender Case the dimensions on Otters site are 5.48 in x 2.89 in x 0.67 in
The Dimensions for the One S: 5.15" x 2.55" x 0.31"
Both cases add size but IMO they won't make this phone a brick.
I don't have either of the otterbox cases for this phone, I do have the Ballistic though. The ballistic is most similar to the Otterbox Defender series. In my opinion the case does not not a significant amount of bulk to the phone and it still fits very comfortably in my pocket as well a stand I have on my desk. I can provide pictures of it if your are curious.

just ordered my commuter series case, had one for my evo before i switched to an HD2. I think a little bit of extra security is worth it over cosmetic appeal of slimness. Just my thoughts
Just got my commuter case this morning ill try to post some pics later tonight. This is my first otterbox case and as far as looks I really don't like how it looks, but I gues it gets the job done. The case doesn't really add to much bulk, it just as wide as my d30 case and you don't really lose to much thinness.

Commuter is good comes with a screen protecter and the inside is made of rubber and the out of some weird rough plastic, overall the case is good for any kind of drops, thickness wise its as big as an n1 with no case

Quick question, is the case 1 piece or 2 pieces that snap together to fit the phone? I can't tell and wasn't sure after looking at the website.
rubber for the cover, hard plastic for the frame, 2piece and a screen protector but fugg that it leaves a dirty imprint after u take it off

Has anyone picked up the Defender? I'm fairly certain that the One S is going to be my next phone but I work construction currently and that can be pretty hard on phones (Actually, my Milestone/Droid held up very well...Desire Z not so much). The two threads in the main forum about the screen breaking easily are worrying me a bit and an Otterbox is going to be a necessity here.
Is the Defender THAT much bigger than the Commuter? And apart from the clip, is it really that much more durable? I've checked the site and read what's there, but looking for real world experience from users (of both the One S and previous phones here).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was actually just looking for the same thing. Came here searching and haven't found much. I think I'm going to give this one a shot:
http://www.amazon.com/Orzly®-Invisi...671024&sr=8-3&keywords=moto+x+2014+clear+case
Verizon stores have a case with a clear back and black bumper sides.
I haven't seen an all-clear TPU-only case. I ended up settling for the Cimo X-line case.
This one is a hybrid... it's about the closest thing I've seen: http://www.case-mate.com/Moto-X-2nd-Gen-Cases/Case-Mate-Moto-X-2nd-Gen-Naked-Tough-Cases.asp

I've been trying to decide between the Clear Cimo X vs Wave design. Could you post some pics of the Cimo X design to see how it looks on the phone? Thanks
I bought the Cimo as a temp while my casemate hula came in, but it is a very nice case. Slim, unobtrusive, and a good fit.
I much prefer the X-line over the wave because I'm a stickler for symmetry.

I love my football back when, I almost made the same mistake of buying the black one because when I first walked into the store and I took a look at the football one I actually didn't like it at first glance, but after I told the guy I wanted the black one and he was sitting up the other phone that was being put on our phone line I took another look at the football back and decided that it would be really cool to have because not only does it look cool but it is something you don't see very often so I told him to switch my phone now and honestly I don't think I would be as happy with the phone if it wasn't the football back, because I know a few people with the Moto X and they're all completely jealous of mine unfortunately no, I am stuck with Verizon's black jelly case covering its beauty until I can find a good protective clear case of some sort

1) how does the (button)s function, normally, or does it take a bit more pressure.?
2) are the sides grippy, to help with less chance of dropping..
here's the model I ordered, what's your opinion, other than the design on the back.?

So..you have the smoked version, looks like..I have the wave clear version ordered..the clear, I hope doesn't hide the beauty of the device..see-thru is what I'm hoping for.!
1) how does the (button)s function, normally, or does it take a bit more pressure.?
2) are the sides grippy, to help with less chance of dropping..

I actually have the clear version - I have the slate back on my phone.
1) The buttons function maybe not quite as well as the naked buttons, but really not bad. And honestly, I don't use the buttons on my phone too much.
2) The TPU is relatively smooth on the edges, but still has more grip than the slippery metal.
And other than the back design, they should be about the same.

Thanks for the 'head's up'..when I receive it, I will report back..I haven't received the new device yet, either (PE 64gb)..I have ordered a few different cases, screen protectors, a few colors, of back shells, and a few dbrand skins, so I'm doing research, and orders before the device arrives..I'm not so sure, that the picture is an actual photo, seems to be a rendering, and from eBay is where I took the screen shot..
Thank you..

Yep, I have that case - the microphone cutout is missing. Trying to decide if I should drill one. I don't use a case all of the time.
The initial versions of those cases didn't have the microphone cutout, but the new ones should. My Cimo X Line does have the cutout.

I can't seem to find the X-line cimo case like you have. Can you share the sellers site or name? Thanks.
I did receive the Cimo case today, for the XT1095 I have on order, and Yes..there is a punch out for the top mic. we had questioned..
Here I have the case on my XT1064 Moto G 2014, strikingly similar in size and layout of the Moto X..anyhow..this will give an idea..

Sure, it's actually Cimo as the eBay seller. Just select clear or black.... http://m.ebay.com/itm/321584556294?nav=SEARCH
I did however have to make a little hole in the back for the microphone. No big deal, but just a heads up. Maybe ask the seller first if they have one with the hole already cut.

You can purchase these cases on Amazon Cimo Cases Moto X 2014 There's a variety of colors to choose from as well.
I like a holster, that allows the naked device to be easily carried on the waist.
So far, I've found this one. But please share any others you are aware of.
I am hoping that Seidio makes a holster. Like their usual spring click holsters.
I asked Seidio and got this response:
Hello .
Thank You for contacting Seidioonline.
Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for a Moto x holster .
This doesn't mean that we will not eventually release it for this phone we just haven't got plans to at this time.
We're always in the process of developing and releasing new accessories so I do recommend periodically checking our online store for product updates.

Don't want it in my pocket. I've already got other things being held in my pockets. Don't want to use my hand, since I can use my hands to hold other things.

Trust me, I understand. That's why my keys are minimal and I prefer smaller phones, but I'm just sayin'... holsters are the pocket protectors of the 21st centry

No. I have 2 on my hip at all times. Like Quick Draw .
I've been using Seidio Surface with the clip for majority of all my phones. Case is thin enough and offers protection. I also have things in my pockets...wallet and loose change in one and keys in the other. And I can't hold the phone all the time because I'm either working or carrying my 8 month old and need access to my phone.
Even though Seidio claims they have no plans (which I'm sure is their generic response for unreleased products), I'm sure they're already working on it or already done with it. No way they would not make a case for what would be one of the hottest phones for 2015. They're a business in it to make money and they would be stupid not to support the phone.
I just wish they would have cases prior to release and not a few months after the release.

I've used Surface before, I want naked . I used Surface with my HTC One M7 and after taking it off and going with a skin, I'm not going back to Surface or any other case .
I hope Seidio does make holsters and such. But for now, they claim not. So they will be late to the party and lose money for it. Maybe they can't get an early model to work from or something.

This holds my Nexus 6 and will soon hold my X. It holds securely and is damn near indestructible. I've been in fights and had half my gear torn off and this thing stayed on solid and held on to my phone great.

I still use a holster for my phone. Carried my phone on my hip for years, and especially considering the size of this phone (which is already preordered) there's no way I'm pocketing it.
I'm used to carrying stuff on my hip. Firearm, extra mag, phone holster, etc. Doesn't bother me a bit. I like the piece of mind knowing that my phone is safe and won't get crushed when I sit down or scratched to hell in the same pocket as my keys or 5.11 tac knife. Just saying.
Imagine reaching for your gun and you end up picking up the phone ... nevermind just do some wrist action and boom you can blind the theif! Haha

Yeah i use a holster for my phone and zero F's given.
I was actually coming here to see what others are using. I have one for my one plus one I'm using now I'll probably keep it for now and see what comes out after the device actually hits consumer hands.

Trust me, sir, there's no mixing up what's what on my hip.
I doubt Seidio will make a holster for the Moto X Pure/Style considering Seidio didn't make one for the Moto X 2013.
I've had Seidio holsters for all of the dozen or so mobile phones I've owned since way back to the pre-iPhone-era Moto Q.
For my Moto X 2013, I use a Seidio holster designed for the Galaxy S5. It doesn't fit *perfectly*, but it's close enough. I actually have two Seidio Galaxy S5 clips, one for the naked Moto X 2013 and a second, "Surface" holster that works great when I have the Moto X 2013 in a TPU case.
Perhaps there's another phone that's close enough in size to the Moto X Style/Pure that a Seidio holster for that other phone would work with the Pure?
I just did a quick search on GSMArena for like-sized phones, and the closest match I could find — with accessories currently available from Seidio — is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The height differs by a mere 0.4 mm (Pure is taller), and the width by 2.4 mm (Note 4 is wider). Thickness, I'm not so worried about, since the Moto X is thin at the edges, where it counts.
I'm going to be the guinea pig and order a Seidio Note 4 holster to try out with the Moto X Pure.
Awesome let us know if you like it.
I got the sideways case and its just ok. I don't like the bi fold piece in the middle which I could cut out nor do I like the Velcro flip top which was my bad for not noticing. Its not a bad case, I just prefer magnet tops as Velcro gets annoying. I'm going to keep it as a backup. My current pleather one is starting to tear where the metal belt clip attaches to the case.
Im sure seidio will make a spring holster. the made one for my Droid Turbo, and i know this will be more popular than the Turbo. cant do without a surface holster as I'm a painting Contractor
Pretty frustrated at the choices available. I had one of these on my Note 3 and would love to get it for this phone, but cannot find one anywhere..

Any idea if the feather case has a raised edge to stop the phone from lying on the screen when it's face down? I have a few of these for my current LG G2, and they do, but the one for my wifes iPhone does not.
Already ordered the octane frost with black bumper to go along with my black front and charcoal wood back X on pre-order.

Dam just black? I bought a white one and would like a grey one...

Wait if you want more colors, they will be out there... Personally for me my phone isn't a fashion statement. It is about functionality and the case is about protecting my functional device. When not in use it spends 99% of the time in your pocket, so whats the deal. Anyway, I ordered 2 of the DualPro's for the wife and my phones... Super stoked, cant wait to get my new Pure edition!
today I received tracking information from incipio stating that the Octane translucent smoke / black bumper will ship today Sept 8th via USPS First Class.
It is a shame the Spigen and Ringke will not make cases for the Moto X Pure, i love Rinke Slim fit on my Nexus 6 that covers the top and bottom side unlike Incipio's Feather case.
Will post pictures of the Incipio Octane smoke / black. Hope you cannot see the dust that accumulates inside the Octane Frost (see through) back.
Yes, I would like to see pics as well of the frost/translucent back, I have the Charcoal ash back and I'm still looking for a case that displays it well. I would ideally like a clear gloss TPU or polycarbonate case, but if the frost can highlight the wood back, I might just get the Incipio.

I'm getting one today, and the phone on Monday. I'll let you know. The last few Incipio Feather cases (2013 Moto X, DROID RAZR Maxx HD) had this lip. Love the case.
I love their cases as well. Can you tell me how slippery this one is? The ones I had for the G2 were both pretty slippery.

Will do. My drmhd had a great soft touch back and was grippy. I got the feather shine with my Moto X. It was a disaster. Thinking this one will be grippy again, otherwise I may return it.
@Squez I got the case and it is definitely the soft touch grip that I remember. It is a little slicker than I remember, but hard to tell without the weight of a phone in it. Holy smoked this phone is going to be big... I'll let you know how it fits the phone when I get the phone on Monday.

Thanks for the update! Just as you replied, I finally got the email that mine just shipped! Good timing!
The octane frost, is the back transparent? Will it show my moto x pure white back clearly? Thanks.
I just ordered the feather case because it add less bulk then the other designs. It cost $21.25 with the discount code and free shipping.

Looks good! Still waiting on your phone?
Sent from my Moto X Pure
Just posted the pictures of the Incipio Octane Translucent Smoke with black bumper.
I do not have the Moto X Pure (not even tracking when I ordered Sept 2nd at 2pm) so I inserted a dollar inside to show how translucent the Smoke version of the Octane is compared to the Frost (see through) version. I like it because it will not show dust particles trapped inside the case yet you can see the finish or color of the back. Very solid construction, does not bend easily and is not soft like the TPU cases
@Squez the front of the case does do farther than the screen, so it doesn't allow the screen to touch the table when face down.
It also just barely keeps the raised speaker grills off the table. I didn't expect them to be raised.
