Holsters, for the Moto X Style (Pure) 2015 3rd edition - X Style (Pure) Accessories

I like a holster, that allows the naked device to be easily carried on the waist.
So far, I've found this one. But please share any others you are aware of.
I am hoping that Seidio makes a holster. Like their usual spring click holsters.

I asked Seidio and got this response:
Hello .
Thank You for contacting Seidioonline.
Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for a Moto x holster .
This doesn't mean that we will not eventually release it for this phone we just haven't got plans to at this time.
We're always in the process of developing and releasing new accessories so I do recommend periodically checking our online store for product updates.

I kindly advise that you cease rocking the holster.

Don't want it in my pocket. I've already got other things being held in my pockets. Don't want to use my hand, since I can use my hands to hold other things.

Trust me, I understand. That's why my keys are minimal and I prefer smaller phones, but I'm just sayin'... holsters are the pocket protectors of the 21st centry

No. I have 2 on my hip at all times. Like Quick Draw .

I've been using Seidio Surface with the clip for majority of all my phones. Case is thin enough and offers protection. I also have things in my pockets...wallet and loose change in one and keys in the other. And I can't hold the phone all the time because I'm either working or carrying my 8 month old and need access to my phone.
Even though Seidio claims they have no plans (which I'm sure is their generic response for unreleased products), I'm sure they're already working on it or already done with it. No way they would not make a case for what would be one of the hottest phones for 2015. They're a business in it to make money and they would be stupid not to support the phone.
I just wish they would have cases prior to release and not a few months after the release.

I've used Surface before, I want naked . I used Surface with my HTC One M7 and after taking it off and going with a skin, I'm not going back to Surface or any other case .
I hope Seidio does make holsters and such. But for now, they claim not. So they will be late to the party and lose money for it. Maybe they can't get an early model to work from or something.

This holds my Nexus 6 and will soon hold my X. It holds securely and is damn near indestructible. I've been in fights and had half my gear torn off and this thing stayed on solid and held on to my phone great.

I still use a holster for my phone. Carried my phone on my hip for years, and especially considering the size of this phone (which is already preordered) there's no way I'm pocketing it.
I'm used to carrying stuff on my hip. Firearm, extra mag, phone holster, etc. Doesn't bother me a bit. I like the piece of mind knowing that my phone is safe and won't get crushed when I sit down or scratched to hell in the same pocket as my keys or 5.11 tac knife. Just saying.

Imagine reaching for your gun and you end up picking up the phone ... nevermind just do some wrist action and boom you can blind the theif! Haha

Yeah i use a holster for my phone and zero F's given.
I was actually coming here to see what others are using. I have one for my one plus one I'm using now I'll probably keep it for now and see what comes out after the device actually hits consumer hands.

Trust me, sir, there's no mixing up what's what on my hip.

I doubt Seidio will make a holster for the Moto X Pure/Style considering Seidio didn't make one for the Moto X 2013.
I've had Seidio holsters for all of the dozen or so mobile phones I've owned since way back to the pre-iPhone-era Moto Q.
For my Moto X 2013, I use a Seidio holster designed for the Galaxy S5. It doesn't fit *perfectly*, but it's close enough. I actually have two Seidio Galaxy S5 clips, one for the naked Moto X 2013 and a second, "Surface" holster that works great when I have the Moto X 2013 in a TPU case.
Perhaps there's another phone that's close enough in size to the Moto X Style/Pure that a Seidio holster for that other phone would work with the Pure?

I just did a quick search on GSMArena for like-sized phones, and the closest match I could find — with accessories currently available from Seidio — is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The height differs by a mere 0.4 mm (Pure is taller), and the width by 2.4 mm (Note 4 is wider). Thickness, I'm not so worried about, since the Moto X is thin at the edges, where it counts.
I'm going to be the guinea pig and order a Seidio Note 4 holster to try out with the Moto X Pure.

Awesome let us know if you like it.
I got the sideways case and its just ok. I don't like the bi fold piece in the middle which I could cut out nor do I like the Velcro flip top which was my bad for not noticing. Its not a bad case, I just prefer magnet tops as Velcro gets annoying. I'm going to keep it as a backup. My current pleather one is starting to tear where the metal belt clip attaches to the case.

Im sure seidio will make a spring holster. the made one for my Droid Turbo, and i know this will be more popular than the Turbo. cant do without a surface holster as I'm a painting Contractor

Pretty frustrated at the choices available. I had one of these on my Note 3 and would love to get it for this phone, but cannot find one anywhere..

Mercury is a Korean brand, and it is "产地:韩国,MADE IN KOREA". Of course, this being taobao, it could also end up being an imitation.

The blue & green is really cool ! The problem with this sort of case it's that changes the way to hold the phone, it's less comfortable.

I know right! I'm using a similar case for my tablet, and I take it out whenever I'm at home. For the Nexus 4 though, that could be a very dangerous thing to do... Then again, with the current case I'm using, the bulk makes it difficult to have a one-hand operation anyway.
Ordered this case on Monday from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive from Korea to Singapore. Ordered Lime green/Navy blue and Mint/Navy blue. Will post again once I receive it.
This case is pretty good. The tpu inside is a tight fit and the speaker, cut outs are ample and precise. The colours are pretty funky too. This is the mint/navy blue version. Just received it today

Liking it so far. I think it's worth getting as it can protect the front screen although the power buttons are little tough to reach but it's possible to get used to. Using proximity screen off so that's not really an issue for me
Realize this thread is a little old but I just received mine today and am pleasantly surprised. I have tried a couple of flip cases for my Nexus 4 (Poetic, PDair) and have been disappointed. This one is nicely made, feels good, and has a nice magnetic clasp. I especially like the fact that, if you choose to put credit cards in it, the edges of the embedded TPU case prevent the cover from coming in contact with the screen.
It only failed one requirement I had for such a case... and that is easy removal. Since the back of the TPU case is covered with the hard wallet material, it makes it a bit tougher to get the Nexus out. But considering I have yet to be pleased with any of the other flip cases this is now no longer one of my requirements. A steal for under 10 bucks!

I'm located near Shenzhen China and have been to the stores, which are actually entire buildings, where they manufacture and sell these cases.
These cases are essentially replicas, but they definitely do a good job of copying the real mercury cases, down to the very minute details. Some stores have better replicas than others, for example these Fancy Diary cases may have the threading skipped on the edges, fraying, or discoloration. Here at ground zero, you can pick these cases up in bulk for $15 - $20 RMB which is slightly over $2 USD on average.
Not saying these cases aren't worth it, but just thought it would be interesting to let you know where these cases came from. Being that the price was so cheap, I definitely picked up a few cases myself for friends and family without even thinking twice.
Not being able to decide, which from the two should I pick. Any suggestion?
Tell me which one would YOU pick for yourself and why?

The top one cause I don't like the green in the bottom one. Not a big fan of bright neon colors. The top one looks classy and the bottom looks like a toy IMHO.

Nice review. To condense it:

Early impressions were that people didn't like the snap method of affixing the case but I didn't have any issue with it and I like it.
My major criticism is with the edges of the case which have a raw, unfinished feel to them. If the cases were leather I would expect those edges to soften up with time but with this poly material, I don't know.
A major plus is that the cover doesn't add much bulk.
I had a difficult time finding a cover in my city. The one (the only one) a local Best Buy was carrying wasn't even in the Samsung section. The Samsung employees couldn't find it. I found it -- It was laying flat on a generic shelf labeled "tablet essentials".
Go figure.
I'm waiting on mine from Samsung. com. Is it heavy? Thanks.

Case looks beautiful but I can't get the buttons to hold it up. What am I doing wrong?

What are your thoughts for everyday use guys? Has functionality and usability been compromised with design? I'm checking the reviews and I'm worried the flap at the back can get annoying because it does not hold unto place unless you set the magnets in.

Not sure what you're asking about magnets. The magnets are strong and once you get used to the folding schemes it easy to switch.
As far as long term wear my only concern is with the snaps. Only time will tell. This is by far the nicest case Samsung has ever made. I have their case for the note 8 and the note 2, never used either one for long. I don't think I'll even look at other cases for this, unless I want one with keyboard.

I was pertaining to the other half of the rear flap that does not attach it's to the rear of the tablet. Doesn't it flop around when holding with one hand since it doesn't have any magnets? I e been looking at reviews of this case (not that much) and everyone is saying it's a really nice cade, pro ably the first case made by Samsung with that high praise. I usually just buy the generic ones from Amazon that have screen on and off function for 8 dollars lol

No. When folding the cover back you simply fold the flap underneath leaving the camera exposed and it doesn't flop around. Love it.

Holster case for Naked Moto X 2014

Looks like Seidio isnt making a holster case for the New Moto X. Its a shame because I want to use there holster for my naked moto X. Does anyone know of a holster thats like a seidio spring clip holster. I also need a good glass screen protector.

Well I can't post links, but if you check out Bodyguardz full screen protectors, they seem to be pretty nice. Also Verizon offers something similar, however it only covers the viewable screen, rather than the entire front like the Bodyguardz one does.
Hope that helps.

bodyguardz aren't working well on my device; i've tried two (including one installed by att) and both times the left, right and bottom edges would not stay down. might try the Verizon version since it only covers the screen.

Good to know. I was going to pick one up today. I guess i will wait a bit longer for more products to release. Thanks for the heads up.
So I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 Seidio spring clip holster for the Moto X 2014. It fits perfect. It was like $27 for the holster. No issue at all. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was the only phone in comparision in size to the Moto X 2014. So im rocking a naked sweet Moto X 2014.

How snug is the fit? Does the X rattle or move around? I have a seidio case and holster on my Atrix HD and I really like then. Not sure if you want a slightly different look than a nekkid clip-in type belt-case but these look interesting:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJYNTK2/ref=pd_luc_nr_02_04_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I ran across them last night in another futile attempt to find something I want...I might get the vertical style (first link). I think maybe with a basic TPU protective cover it's a serviceable combo for how I use my phone all day, at least until the XT1095 version of my fav case comes out, if ever.

Just got myself the Seidio S5 holster the other day. I ordered it based on phone size measurements and then found this thread which confirmed it fit. The only thing I miss compared to the same holster used with my 2013 Moto X is the cutout in the release clip for the headphone jack. I may end up drilling/machining the slot. I did experiment with using the top clip from the 2013 Moto X holster but the phone while secure was able to move around a little which I didn't like. One option would be to add a whee bit of foam which would take care of the problem and then allow for headphones.
It is nice to have a holster again, this phone sure is slippery though!

I'd love to see pics of this. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Getting a case with a clear/frosted back and using it in a Seidio S5 holster. I'm just unsure which holster to get as there are a couple models for different thickness of cases.
Given the recent Amazon sale, I'm sure there's a recent surge of 2014 Moto X owners (me included). My 2013 bit the dust recently and I've been using my son's old one (he bought a OnePlus 2), and I jumped on the sale at Amazon. I was very disappointed to see that Seidio never made any 2014 Moto X cases/holsters.
Thanks to this thread, I found that the Galaxy S5 is very close in size to the 2014 Moto X. After a lot of looking around I decided to order the Seidio Dilex holster for the Galaxy S5, and the Incipio DualPro case for the Moto X. The case arrived yesterday and holster arrived today, and I have to say it's a perfect fit. If I didn't know any better I would think they were designed to work together.
Like other have noted, the spring clip blocks access to the headphone jack, but that won't affect me; I never use headphones, and I keep my phone upside down in the holster anyway - it seems much easier than constantly flipping the phone around every time I put it in or remove it from the holster.

Running armband or waist pack

Anyone seen an armband or maybe either a waist pack for a running belt that would hold the Note 4? I'm trying to find something that can hold it in an Otterbox case without having to take it out of the case for each workout. I can't even find an armband that would fit it naked and it doesn't fit in my Nathan running belt's pouch.
Won't let me post a link, but search SPIBelt on Google. I use one with my note 2 with a large case, haven't tried to fit my note 4 in it yet. They work great, if you have it adjusted right, and are wearing it correctly, it doesn't bounce around at all, and you can hardly tell it's there.

*EDIT* I made the purchase now. The price has gone up from $7.99 to $11.99. I waited long enough..missed the deal but will really be kicking myself if it goes up in price again.

I second the spibelt

This is what I purchased for my note 3 and still using it for my note 4. I have an armband for the note 4 as well but I can't tell you how ridiculous it feels and looks having a 5.7 inch phone on your arm. Might as well carry a boombox like the 80's...Seriously though I catch a good ribbing from friends who say I have a fanny pack but the spibelt is barely visible and you don't even realize it's there, holds phone, keys, cards, etc... I can do running and jumping rope and nothing moves in it. It just stays put, it's fantastic.

This belt goes over my shorts and my shirt covers it, nobody sees a darn thing unless I am pulling my phone out of it. But if you think a gigantic phone strapped to your upper arm looks any less funny, you are nuts! Besides I could care less how it looks, it holds everything I need it to so when I go jogging I don't have a phone on my arm, and keys jingling in my pocket. If I need to change music I just use my bluetooth headset or moto 360.

This might work. Used it with my G3. Have not tried it with my N4. It had lot's of stretch room.

I have one of those too. Used it for my note 2 since using an arm band was extremely awkward. Lol. Works real well.

So.. I ordered the SUPCASE Armband. I would not recommend this case in any way for using it as an armband while running. It's basically just an extremely flimsy Silicone/TPU bumper case with two holes in the back for the strap to run through. From the pictures on amazon it looked like it was going to be made out of some sort of Plastic/Silicone. But I wouldn't dare go running knowing that any minute my $700 phone to flip right out.. or go kaaboom from the silicone ripping around the band. Anyways.. have it on eBay now.
Bump.
I want an armband because in the gym I use equipment and do exercises that would put pressure on something attached to my torso. Any more learnIng since November 5?

So this is the one I've made my everyday use. Absoutley ZERO rain or sweat gets into it. Stays in place and super comfortable. Hands down the best armband I've ever used. Expensive option in my opinion but after owning its worth every penny. They should carry these in your local Best Buy store.

So this company makes one called the i-40 and is their biggest model designed to hold both Note 4 & iPhone 6 plus. The one I have (i-35) will not allow for any case at all.. Very tight fit and from their website says its designed for the Note 3 but once I tried a test fit in best buy I decided that one would work for me. I can only assume that the next largest one should be able to fit the Note 4 with a case...no problem. It's also $5 more for the i-40

I know these are meant for bicep mount... Has anyone tried forearm mount?
I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ID1I2XK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is snug with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case on, so it might not fit with the Otter Box. I use it at the gym only so I don't know how water proof it is.

Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.
Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: the Pixel XL is priced at $24.99, and you can pre-order a CrashGuard for the Pixel/Pixel XL.
Use discount code "XDAFTW" for 15% off until November 10, 2016. Check out the RhinoShield store here.

Where is the blue to match VZW true blue? Anyways, good bumper, true bumper, is always welcomed!
Any pictures of the bumper? How wide is it?
Any plans for clear and or orange?
This bumper added a lot of widness/tallness on the 6P and I imagine this will be the same. It will probably be manageable due to the Pixel's smaller size (XL included), but still... I'd like to see them make a more minimalistic bumper too.

Loved the crashguard on my Nexus 6P, so I might as well get this too for my Pixel XL
I just hope this Bumper is better than the crappy one Verizon sold for the Moto Z Force. That thing really was bad. The best bumper ever was the Nexus 4 I think, the all glass Nexus. That bumper was great looking.
I gave a Rhino arriving weds. Amazon has them before Rhinos website does

I can say that this bumper is great, I have it already and it adds very little bulk to the device. I didn't like it in the 6P so much cuz it made it very wide.

You guys should try it in person, it made my 6P horrendously large and hard to hold that I returned it.
Reviews looks pretty poor on the Pixel Xl version. Is there gonna be a revised 2.0 version?
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I've received mine today.
I was using a Spigen rugged armor before and the bumper feel so much nicer. It doesn't really make the phone wider and it feel good to touch the glass/metal
I've seen such mixed reviews on this bumper. Right note I'm using a cheap tpu car and it's ok but I'm looking for something more premium. My wife just dropped and shattered her iPhone today and I'm thinking I need to bump up my protection but I hate bulkiness

Yeah, I don't get it. Some are saying maybe it's the first batch that is an issue. I have such a hard time taking the bumper off and I'm even scared that I would damage my phone putting so much force on it just to remove a simple bumper. It's such a shame cause I really like having it on my 6P and it feels real nice on the Pixel except for the tight feel. You can't even put a DBrand skin on it with the bumper cause it'll scrape off the edge.
I've reached out to them to see if there was an issue with the first batch. And if they say no, then I would not recommend them to anyone.

I can confirm its pretty tight.
I tried to remove it and I couldn't. I'm also scared that it will crack my screen from the pressure needed.
Even with the bumper in, I can still use it in my daydream so I won't bother to remove it at all.

So, I just decided to buy another one but from Amazon this time, which has mix reviews. This one still has a tight fit but not as bad as the one I pre-ordered from RhinoShield. Their response to me was to make a video and direct me on how I can get it off. Did not feel like putting that one back on because it's just that dam frustrating. Don't know how many people that had issue actually emailed them but I think they should take the review more seriously and actually test it themselves. At this point, I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Unless they want to test their luck on getting one that isn't so tight.
Those who are using this bumper, is there any problem with 3.5 mm jack? Heard that its difficult to plug in and out headphones and IEMs, is that true?

Mostly an issue with headphones with a 90 degree connector. My favorite IEM has one and I can't use it with the bumper. I am waiting on some adapters to remedy this but they will negate the benefits of the 90...
