What about init.d scripts for our OPO - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

He people, i was wondering what you guys think about using scripts like crossbreeder or its close relatives on our device.
Is it worth The try or do you think they wont improve anything on our beloved one plus one.
Hope you can help

Please?
Sent from my One using XDA Free mobile app

Not really. You might see some slight improvements. Init.d is already set up and used by CM11s using there own stuff. The only scrip/scripts that would help are fix perms, shut off dext opting, zipalign etc.

[Q] New kernel tweaks in Droid Overclock

The latest update of JRummy's Droid Overclock app (v. 2.0.2) now allows kernel tweaks under Settings/Advanced Settings.
Options include setting the sampling rate, upping the threshold, enabling normalized sleeper, new fair sleepers and gentle fair sleepers as well as sysctl support.
What do these do?
Has anyone tried them?
Any recommendations for settings?
I can't even run 2.0.2 since it forecloses on me everytime on Fission.
It's Been FC on everybody since update
we will just half to wait for him to fix the problem.

New update in market fixed fc issue for me. New version is 2.0.3. Although the kernel tweeks still will not set on boot for me.

The tutorial at droidforums.net/forum/liberty-rom-d2/122733-tutorial-sysctl-you-guide-better-preformance-battery-life.html should help explain a bit and he references his source which gives way more info. I applied all of the mods from there to my liberty 1.5 ROM. Haven't noticed much in the way of speed, but I've been using my phone non-stop for the past 2 hours (unplugged when fully charged after mods) and my battery is still at 80%, I'd say it's worth looking into.

How to keep important apps running/open :) set androids mem priorities straight!!!!

I saw a few people complaining about memory management i havnt tried this script on honeycomb because i havnt had need to but most these roms support init.d scripts so thought i would share
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15010845
That link is for a script called smoothness aka loopy smoothness once you set it up you can have your launcher etc locked in memory
You can also set priorities for youre music player so its one of the last to get killed or stays in memory so on and so forth
Have a read and hope this helps some people
IF THIS SHOULD BE IN DEVELOPMENT OR GENERAL MODS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MOVE IT

pimp my rom init.d tweaks

I searched xda for init.d scripts and found a Google play store app that let's you select different tweaks in an easy to use format... i applied a few tweaks and have not had any issues with boot loops or phone malfunctioning... also... i just found this so I haven't tested performance...also...these tweaks are init.d which are available using dwiths tweaked 3.1 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895049 ... or use dslices scripts and tweaks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981446 to get init.d to work

the tweaks for the sd card increased read rates and helped reboot times during media checks... battery well I can't say this tweak helped much... but didn't hurt

just as a warning... anything other than low will cause terrible lag... the medium values are wrong for the phone...

so far... the best tweak was the disabling the sleepers... i did do the Internet tweaks... i got some of the best speed test results yet since I had the phone... but the Internet ping was short... so it may be because I was extremely close to a server...and my 4G at home is ok but not a clean 4g...so that test is not reliable... i would say it's a user preference

Best CPU Governor Tweaks?
Just curious to know what CPU Governor Tweaks are working best for people? Also, should the hardware acceleration and force gpu rendering options both be kept on together at all times for best results?

I use Tweaked 3.1 as my rom and it has always been best using ondemand for the governor... some people have used smartass when over clocking (tegrak is the only one so far reported to actually work to over clock our stock kernel) but this governor setting is not as good for battery consumption...so far I have only tested on demand(which I think is in dslices build of tweaked) some of these settings are new that I have not even heard of till this pimp my rom came out... One that comes to mind is the brazillion... the hardware excelleration I turned on but I left the force gpu settings off(I never tried it) because in the description it said it increased ram usage and the driod charge as one of its main complaints is lack of ram... these tweaks are so easy you can play and remove them as needed... that's what makes them great... it's you phone and you can make it like you like it...and if something really makes you happy... share it... please!... lol

V6 supercharger script

I was looking into using the v6 supercharger script, but I'm not sure which options I should use when I run the script, there are about 15 different options. Anyone know which ones are best for our device?

Not sure but you should probably move this to the Q&A section. Most likely will get more answers over there. The devs check it out to help noobs like us.

honestly, I really don't think its necassary for our phones. it has 2gb of RAM. the v6 supercharger is great for phones with >1gb RAM. Don't bother with it. If you MUST, try the last memory option. the one for 1gb+ phones, or use customizer settings (i think its option 5), and it'll calculate values for you based on your phone.

Crossbreeder mod (Haveged only). It installs RNGD daemon HAVEGE only.

If you don't want adblocking or dns changes but only crossbreeder for reduce lag.. here you go! Using it with allaince w/stock kernel.. works great!

Thanks for testing this! Crossbreeder is amazing, glad to see its working well for you. Looking forward to running it when I update to 4.3.

The op of the thread does a pretty good job.
Crossbreeder is a random entropy generator that takes available "entropy" caused by normal system processes and puts it into a type of pool. This energy is normally wasted and isn't collected. Think of it as an energy pool where you can take energy from when needed. Easy examples of what this speeds up is the launcher, opening up any app requiring Internet (ie: tapatalk and browser). It won't actually speed up your Internet connection but will cut the querying time down significantly.
This mod doesn't include frandom implementation that is responsible for the adblocking nature of crossbreeder. If you use adaway or adblock this isn't really needed. Plus the implementation of it tends to break some processes such as Google wallet from functioning.
Is this what you were looking for?
Edit: I think I mixed something up somewhere, maybe frandom is still there, but whatever module that is responsible for ad blocking is taken out.

I'm on 4.3. It has helped with my music stopping for a sec as I open the lock screen. I like it for that reason alone.
Edit: now that I'm using the phone more I can tell a huge difference. This mod is making the phone smoking fast.
