[Completed] [Q] Cubot P9 bricked after firmware update - next step help needed - XDA Assist

Our Cubot P9 has apparently bricked after a manufacturer firmware upgrade.
The firmware was downloaded from the official website, copied to a uSD card and then installed from via the Android System Recovery menu (accessed after cold boot by pressing volume-up & power buttons together).
Having followed Cubots instructions to the letter, we can only think that they have provided a link to the wrong image, despite it ostensibly being the correct one.
Current symptons are: phone still powers but not off again (requires battery removal). There is no ability to enter the fastboot or firmware recovery menus. The display lights-up but with a random/incoherent output.
All the threads, thus far, have included putting the device into fastboot or firmware recovery mode - which is not an option for us.
We'd like to know if this a recoverable situation? If so, what's the next step?

Hi,
If you can't enter recovery or fastboot mode, you won't be able to do much I'm afraid....but I suggest you ask in this discussion thread about your device....

Thanks for the reply.
To put the question another way: in general, when the firmware in an Android
device goes awry, is there any way to recover the device using tools available on the user?
The way we see it is thus:-
In our case it's a Cubot P9 phone but it could just as easily be any other, or even a tablet.
Presumably during development and factory manufacture, there is a means to either load firmware in the first instance or reload it when desired. Short of hardware failure, we're sure that the original device developers have done exactly what we have done a dozen times on the bench.
Given the whole nature of the 'eco-system' is much less proprietary than it used to be (remember Nokia S40 anyone?) perhaps devices like ours are entirely lost to scrap heap?
Considering our device though: it still boots with the brand logo displayed, after which, while the display is completely distorted, the wallpaper and menus are visible. Even the volume & power buttons evoke a response. Atop this are its recognition as removable storage under Windows. Surely this indicates some potential for recovery?
Thanks again.

Perhaps, but if you can't flash anything to the device, you can't do anything. Please ask the folks in the thread I linked....or consult a service centre. ?

[Completed] [Q] Download mode

I want to now how to enter to download mode with my samsung galaxy s5. I discover that my phone was a chineese copy. I try many times to do it but a chinesse screen apears. My model is sm-9006v. I try the method that you push the volume down+home button+power button but the chineese screen apears.
Can you help me please and tell me how i put it in download mode
thank you
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. And being it's not a Samsung, it's likely not the same. Nor can any Samsung software work on it, or Odin.
You will need to contact the manufacturer for how to get to download mode. Not sure why you want that? Again, you can't use Samsung files.
But you can ask for help here,

Good luck!
hi i dont know the name of the manufacture but i need to find how to enter to download mode for installing lidroid
Thank you
You'll need to ask in the section I linked above. But without knowing what your device make is, it may be difficult to find an answer. Try a google search on that model number and download mode also.
Keep in mind, again, it's not a Samsung. So, Odin will not work. Also, I just thought... "download mode" is pretty much a Samsung mode also, you likely don't have a download mode.
Also, I could he wrong , but lidroid needs to be ported to devices, so I'm not sure what you're trying to flash, but it could easily brick you or cause other issues.
Ask for help on all this in the thread I've linked, or try Google search. But yeah, I think you aren't going to have luck with any of this.... It's highly unlikely anything will be compatible with your device I'm afraid .
But, hopefully you find a way. ?

[Completed] [Q] [WANTED] STOCK ROM FOR Mini Pad Android i9977 Model: 6.0HD PAD [MTK6577]

Hi! I've got myself in trouble. :crying: I've researched the forums and Google without success.
Long story short: The phone ran out of storage constantly. I'd successfully rooted the device.
The Mt657xRepartition_EN.apk used to repartition the storage got the phone stuck at the boot logo.
I can enter in recovery (Power + Volume Up) but I do not have the stock ROM to flash it back, nor I know how to use the ADB listed as one of the recovery options.
The ROM was identified as: e1911_v77_mt6628_hjy1_9p017_v20
I've photos from the phone and internal label, but as a new poster, I cannot offer the links in this message yet.
I'd no luck in finding it anywhere. It's frustrating...
Would a kind soul with the same phone provide me a copy of the firmware and point me to a tutorial on flashing it back to the phone?
I do not want to mess with the repartitioning anymore, just get the phone back to a working state so my daughter can use it again, despite it's limitations. It's a fine phone but it's awfully limited by the poor partitioning scheme of it's 4GB memory.
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

[Completed] [Q] Prestigio bootloop, please help!

Hi!
I own a Prestigio 3400 and I believe I'm in need of an android 4.2.2. ROM (if I correctly understood how that whole system works).
I rooted my phone and everything was working perfectly until I decided to reboot it. Now, the phone got stuck at the booting screen (after the manufacturer logo everything turns like dark blue and stops dead in its tracks). I can access the recovery options, but nothing seems to work; tried everything, from cleaning the cache to completely wiping the system. I figured that a new OS should do the trick so I've tried to find the original firmware (long shot or a completely wrong move?) but that doesn't seem to be a thing. Also, I couldn't find any kind of ROM that would suit my phone and from what I understood (and admittedly, that's not so much) only certain ROMs go to certain phones.
Since my phone is now but a worthless brick and hours and hours of googling only left me in tears, I would greatly appreciate any kind of help or guidance.
I didn't, because I can't find it.
All of the links on the prestigio site are actually updates. The link to v.1.0.16 is the 1.0.13 to 1.0.16 update, not the firmware itself. I tried all of them though (better safe than sorry), but nothing seems to be working.
I think I found a 1.0.11 firmware but it requires the phone to be connected to the pc and seeing I can't make my pc to acknowledge the phone, that's not doing much for me. A kitkat version [for which is said that could be applied to my phone] isn't working either (installation just aborts).

[Completed] Failed MTK6577 (Dapeng i9977) - Logo bootloop

I've researched the forums and Google without success.
Long story short: The phone ran out of storage constantly. I'd successfully rooted the device.
The Mt657xRepartition_EN.apk used to repartition the storage got the phone stuck at the boot logo.
I can enter in recovery (Power + Volume Up) and have a compatible ROM to flash it back, but the phone is not recognized (USB keeps ringing device on/off).
Alternatively, the recovery working allows the use of the ADB with microsd storage, but requires a signed image to accept the update.
The ROM is identified as: e1911_v77_mt6628_hjy1_9p017_v20 .
I've photos from the phone and internal label, but as a new poster, I cannot offer the links in this message yet.
Would a kind soul knowlgeable of same phone provide me guidance to a tutorial/procedure on flashing it back to the phone?
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
