[Completed] [Q] Download mode - XDA Assist

I want to now how to enter to download mode with my samsung galaxy s5. I discover that my phone was a chineese copy. I try many times to do it but a chinesse screen apears. My model is sm-9006v. I try the method that you push the volume down+home button+power button but the chineese screen apears.
Can you help me please and tell me how i put it in download mode
thank you

Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. And being it's not a Samsung, it's likely not the same. Nor can any Samsung software work on it, or Odin.
You will need to contact the manufacturer for how to get to download mode. Not sure why you want that? Again, you can't use Samsung files.
But you can ask for help here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

hi i dont know the name of the manufacture but i need to find how to enter to download mode for installing lidroid
Thank you

You'll need to ask in the section I linked above. But without knowing what your device make is, it may be difficult to find an answer. Try a google search on that model number and download mode also.
Keep in mind, again, it's not a Samsung. So, Odin will not work. Also, I just thought... "download mode" is pretty much a Samsung mode also, you likely don't have a download mode.
Also, I could he wrong , but lidroid needs to be ported to devices, so I'm not sure what you're trying to flash, but it could easily brick you or cause other issues.
Ask for help on all this in the thread I've linked, or try Google search. But yeah, I think you aren't going to have luck with any of this.... It's highly unlikely anything will be compatible with your device I'm afraid .
But, hopefully you find a way. ?

[Completed] [Q] Cubot P9 bricked after firmware update - next step help needed

Our Cubot P9 has apparently bricked after a manufacturer firmware upgrade.
The firmware was downloaded from the official website, copied to a uSD card and then installed from via the Android System Recovery menu (accessed after cold boot by pressing volume-up & power buttons together).
Having followed Cubots instructions to the letter, we can only think that they have provided a link to the wrong image, despite it ostensibly being the correct one.
Current symptons are: phone still powers but not off again (requires battery removal). There is no ability to enter the fastboot or firmware recovery menus. The display lights-up but with a random/incoherent output.
All the threads, thus far, have included putting the device into fastboot or firmware recovery mode - which is not an option for us.
We'd like to know if this a recoverable situation? If so, what's the next step?
Hi,
If you can't enter recovery or fastboot mode, you won't be able to do much I'm afraid....but I suggest you ask in this discussion thread about your device....

Thanks for the reply.
To put the question another way: in general, when the firmware in an Android
device goes awry, is there any way to recover the device using tools available on the user?
The way we see it is thus:-
In our case it's a Cubot P9 phone but it could just as easily be any other, or even a tablet.
Presumably during development and factory manufacture, there is a means to either load firmware in the first instance or reload it when desired. Short of hardware failure, we're sure that the original device developers have done exactly what we have done a dozen times on the bench.
Given the whole nature of the 'eco-system' is much less proprietary than it used to be (remember Nokia S40 anyone?) perhaps devices like ours are entirely lost to scrap heap?
Considering our device though: it still boots with the brand logo displayed, after which, while the display is completely distorted, the wallpaper and menus are visible. Even the volume & power buttons evoke a response. Atop this are its recognition as removable storage under Windows. Surely this indicates some potential for recovery?
Thanks again.
Perhaps, but if you can't flash anything to the device, you can't do anything. Please ask the folks in the thread I linked....or consult a service centre. ?

[Completed] [Q] Boot Menu.

Hey guys venky here.I have got a lenovo s850.It has android version kit-kat.I have rooted it and for some days it was running well then i downloaded "ROM toolbox" from play store.I installed it and there was option to change resolution.I put it to "1080" and it rebooted my phone after rebooting it all the icons in it are Very huge and it also shows that "Lenovo launcher is not respoding","Lenovo Widgets are not responding" etc.,and if i try to factory reset it It shows "Have been in Meta mode,Long press power button and normal boot...Please help i want to reset or have any solutions pleae help me :crying::crying:
Hi,
Most devices stock dpi is in the 250 to 400 range or so.... You've gone way beyond a dpi that is functional. So yes... Much would be wrong.
If a factory reset didn't fix it, you likely need to flash your stock firmware again to fix this.
I can't find anything relevant on XDA to help you with that, so you will need to ask for help here ,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
Thanks...Is there no other way to factory reset?
On your device I don't know. Usually you do it from the custom recovery. If it's not changing you dpi... You need to ask for further help in the section I linked. ?
Ok can you atleast tell me why is it showing "Have Been in meta mode,Long press the power button and the normal boot".It happens when i press the volume down key, home button and the power button.
You've asked where I suggested... You can only be patient now.
Good luc!
Anyways Thanks alot for your time

Now it wont boot or go into recovery and to make things worse, i made it go into charge only mode a long time ago. Since i cant open it or view files since its on charge only mode. It basically just loops itself everytime i try to enter recovery. It gets stuck on the tracfone page. This is a straight talk phone. Its the LG Access LTE L31L. Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Now you have me curious as to the name of the tablet!
Without knowing the device name (because there is a myriad of things one can do, but only a small handful for any particular device), all I can do is point you to the direction of the [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly] thread of the > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Just so you know, in order to get any useful help, they will need to know as much info about the tablet as you can dig up (make and model number are good starters).
Hope this helps, and good luck!

[Completed] Hard brick

I have a i9063t and apparently it's hard bricked. I won this a couple months ago and it had a problem very annoying of reseting alone all the time, mostly when I was in the middle of something important. I tried to put it back to factory but it didn't fix the problem. So I tried to fix it thinking "This may be a software problem, since it has no official update, I'll put a custom rom in it!" ... Installed Odin, Kies, wiped to factory, put it download mode, connected and chose a rom that apparently worked for this device. Then something happened. Odin just crashed, and my phone it's stuck in the samsung logo. It doesn't go to download mode anymore neither recovery mode! When I turn it on it goes to the logo or the charging animation if it's plugged. Odin doesn't recognize it anymore since it doesn't go to download mode. I'm really desperate for this, is my only phone and I have no money for a new one or technical assistance (will cost me almost a new one) and I really need it (and feel pretty stupid that I've bricked it). I've tried a lot of tutorials but all of them requires download mode. I've also read somewhere that all the bricks may have a solution, some are simple, but some are funky. I really really need help here. This ! is always on top. Anything you may know is helpful, please.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Unfortunately, when your device can not access the recovery or download mode, your phone may not be able to be repaired by the user. You may be able to use the Emergency Firmware recovery in Kies to restore your phone to stock firmware, that's only if it can detect your device. Maybe a mobile service center can restore it back to life, but they do charge quite a bit depending on where you live.
Alternatively, you can register a XDA account and post in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum so that someone else may be able to help you out.
Good Luck! - gsstudios
