[Q] Mahdi rom camera gesture requires passcode - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
So i flashed mahdi rom (10/1) a couple of days ago, let me just say that it is by far one of the best roms out there for the oneplus one!
However, something is bothering me: when i draw a circle on the screen to open the camera, it requires that i enter my pin before the camera actually opens. this wasn't the case on CM11s. and it's really annoying. Not a deal breaker but I would love to fix it somehow.
Does that happen to anyone else ?
If so, is there a way to fix that?
Much appreciated.

Did I break my Polaris camera?

First off, great forum. Been a reader and fan for some time now.
Little question for you all. Looking at the inclosed jpegs, did anyone had this problem with their Polaris camera? I'm wondering if I broke mine, or maybe this is due to flashing a cooked ROM?
Hope you all can shed some light on my problem.
Look at the eClub
Hey Jeat!
Look at the htc eClub, there is a fix for the camera.
I hope that this could fix ur prob.
Frank
Thanks for the tip. Tried it, but that did'nt fix it.
I don't think it had anything to do with the quality of the pictures, but more with a constant overlighting.
No one else had this before?
Take a look at the brightness settings, and the advanced settings -- if you're not clear on how to access these settings, it's in the manual -- maybe you've accidentally changed something in there...
I got exactly the same problem here.
From one day to another suddenly my camera is like that...and i already checked every setting if it might have any influence on the pictures...I couldn't fix it.
Now I'm thinking of sending my orbit 2 back to o2... :/
I had this problem too. All of my pictures were like the one you mentioned. I have tried everything to solve this big problem, without success. After a couple of weeks the camera doesn't work anymore, because of the "Cannot initialize" error. This error is caused by a hardware fault, therefor I have to send the phone back to the factory.
I got exactly the same problem!
Have it with the original ROM and with the udK Diamond ROM, so I really think it's the camera itself.
Too bad we have to send the phone back
Does anybody fix the problem?
if you say its overlighting.. how is it in dark? or how is it in daylight?
Have you tried the finger over the lens and switch off trick to see if it makes any difference?
There are various fixes mentioned but they dont seem to do much. If a hard reset or a radio flash doesnt sort it then its got to be a hardware issue in which case its back to the factory.
Looks like I'm struck with the same problem...
Gonna contact HTC...
(yes I know, this is an old topic.. but problem does still excist)
same problem here..
does anyone know if it is hardware or software issue? i have changed the rom and radio so many times with results. still getting "camera load error", but.. the secondary camera stills works, but with that overlight effect.
im starting to hate my cruise. my old Elfin worked without any problem at all, and i sold it so i could by this crap.
this sucks!
try update your radio to a higher one that may help

[Q] Are these problems with cyanogen mod or the actual phone itself?

I'm pretty sure this is a hardware problem but I just want to make sure. I have an HTC Sensation 4G for T-Mobile (using Family Mobile) with Cyanogen Mod 10 installed. The problems I'm having are related to the touch screen. First of all, moving icons is really hard because it's like it doesn't detect that I'm still holding the icon. Thus, if I have an icon on the homescreen that I don't want, I usually have to first drag it up one row, then again and again until I get to the top to remove it. It also sometimes launches the app instead of moving it which is really annoying. The next problem is very similar to this one: whenever I'm scrolling through something (like contacts or a webpage, for example) the scrolling is kinda choppy and it sometimes takes a few swipes for it to actually scroll. It also sometimes opens links or the contact or whatever when I just want to scroll. Finally, long pressing is not reliable at all, it usually just considers it to be a tap. I literally spent like 1 minute yesterday just trying to open a link in a new tab before just giving up.
Oh yeah, I'm also experiencing trouble with the keyboard. Certain keys like "t" "c" and "f" are really hard to press. Whenever I try to type those keys in particular, it chooses the two keys on the sides instead (so if I type "f" it inserts "dg" or "gd" instead). I've installed a different keyboard which has kinda helped but it's still a problem because it slows down my typing to very slow speeds.
So basically, it looks like my screen is messed up, or I though maybe the processor is running too slowly to process the input or something like that. Looks like the screen though because I can sometimes identify "trouble spots" on the screen that cause the aforementioned behavior. Anyone else had problems like this before? I've heard that flashing the right radio can fix things like battery life and performance but I've never heard of something like this before. I bought the phone used on the internet so there's no way to get it repaired (besides paying for it of course, but that's not an option for me right now). The vibration also isn't working so I think it must have been dropped and that's why the vibration and screen are now messed up.

Hi,
I found CM ROMS gave poor screen sensitivity .
Not as bad as you are describing, though.
Have you tried a Sense ROM?
I've never used this rom so I'm not sure weather or not this is a rom issue or not. You can find out by posting this question on their rom site. I have however had similar issues with other roms and the problem was solved once I flashed a different rom. What you can do for testing purposes is download another rom and see if there problem still persists. If it does than you know it's your device. If the issue is gone then the problem would be with the rom itself. Just because no one else is experiencing the issue it does not necessarily mean it's the device. I was using a rom once And had a lot of crazy issues going on. On the rom website they said it must be my device however after I installed a new rom all my issues we're gone never to appear again. So everyone's device is different. Do some testing and that will answer your question. Try out a couple of other roms, if the issue is gone than it was the rom. If it's still present with the other roms then it's your device. Good luck and I wish you the best. Hope this is helpful.

I'll try one today. I've held back from trying different ROMS because I don't want to screw everything up and be left without a phone for a few days. But now it's the weekend so I'll back everything up and try a sense rom.

I tried installing a sense rom but it didn't install correctly. I started the install and one second later it said it was done. When I rebooted it threw me back into Cyanogen Mod 10. Any ideas?
I have elegancia installed now, same problems. i'll be re-installing CM10 since it had some really nice features. I guess I'll just deal with it then.
The only possible solution i can think of is the ground pin.
Check this thread... and i hope it will help you..

[Q] Cubot A890/ M6589 (MTK6589) screen issues during/after call

Hey!
The Issue: During a phone call the screen turns dark and will not reactivate...it will pop back up after the call disconnects. Hitting any of the site buttons does nothing.
I have tried flashing with the newest firmware (http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.ph...-firmware-released-0502-version/#.UtMOWM93vVI), and although it says this issue has been resolved, it does not fix the problem for me.
I heard that custom ROM fix the solution? (Saw it on this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518663).
But last time I tried one of those, the phone bricked and it took me a while to get it back working (finding stock followed by lost IMEI).
Anyone know a solution? Or possibly a good solid custom ROM that will work? I would really appreciate your help!
I am also having this same issue but with my Cubot X6. However mine just doesn't work in the dark. During daylight it responds as it should.
After a lot of googling it seems to be a problem with jellybean as it occurs on a lot of other phones. A way of solving this would be to disable the proximity sensor but I can't find any settings to do so.
Need help

Hey! Not sure if this be of any help, but for me removing the screen (plastic) cover fixed the issue. I assume the screen cover was blocking a sensor thus resulting in my issues.
Just thought I let you know what worked for me...although I doubt your issue can be solved like this.
BTW, I suggest you start a new post, as this one is old and I doubt anyone will read it! also, check out geekbuying.com blog in regards to your phone. They might have more info.

[Q] Front facing camera issue

Hey,
So I cracked my screen, changed it with OEM new parts, and worked great for weeks after the installation.
Now, I'm having camera issues, back camera works fine, but when you switch to front facing camera the app freezes and crashes, and I get cant connect to camera black screen, and at this point the back camera wont work either, if you restart and clear data on camera app the back camera works again, but front facing will never work. Currently, I;m running stock rooted but I've had this issue with rooted custom roms and stock unrooted. I'm not sure if this is related to the screen change or not, but it worked great for weeks after the screen change. and, I;m having the same issue with other camera apps too, no snap chat installed nor any other apps that could conflict.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!
I am currently dealing with a similar situation. Did you find anything to help fix the problem?
This is almost certainly due a little piece of tape coming off of the ribbon cable. I happened to solve this by cutting a small piece of scotch tape and wrapping it around the ribbon cable so that the underside of the cable is not making contact with the PCB.
I know this is a super late reply but I hope it can help someone in a similar situation!
Hello. So i had the exact same problem as OP. Got my screen replaced (not by me), but a few days after that i noticed that my camera would freeze when trying to change it to the front facing camera. i had issues with messenger and the normal app. i did a few system restores and even unlcoked and installed custom rooted Roms last night. Still freezing on the front camera.
I'm now positive its a hardware connection issue. Anyone else have this issue? I feel i should open the phone and try to fix it.

Carbon ROM question. Please chime in!!!

Her guys, I'm running carbon ROM on my m8, and I noticed it has the knock on feature like the lg phones. However, whenever I pull my phone out of my pocket, or even sometimes just move it a certain way, the screen lights up and it's really annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this on carbon or any other android ROM?
