Her guys, I'm running carbon ROM on my m8, and I noticed it has the knock on feature like the lg phones. However, whenever I pull my phone out of my pocket, or even sometimes just move it a certain way, the screen lights up and it's really annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this on carbon or any other android ROM?

Hi,
Every now and then, while my phone is in my pocket and I do receive a call, I pick it up to answer and the screen is totally unresponsive. I can't slide to answer or do anything at all. I tried to power it off and on again quickly, and then it seemed to get back to normal and I can answer the call. Most of the time this happened during incoming calls. Anybody noticed this behaviour as well?
I read in the HD2 Android forum that it was due to the light sensor. But I'm not sure.
Thanks,
-Gus
I'm experiencing the same issue...
Me too. anyone?
Same here. It happened on the Nexus one as well. Perhaps is a stock android issue.
I have created a bug report. Please help me by staring this report so that it gets Google's attention.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13853
Any update/fix on this issue yet? I'm having this problem on stock ICS, CM9 & AOKP as well.
I have this problem even without having the phone in my pocket, when I have it on the table and someone calls me, I have to wait for five seconds before answering, because before that the phone is irresponsive and it FC's, which rejects the call. It gets very annoying.
I've seen a lot of problems on the web about this. It might be the proximity/light sensor.
As a side note, have you cleaned the upper left corner of your screen (where the light sensor is located)? Or at least make sure nothing is actually over it (maybe a case or plastic, screen protector, etc).
Any update on code recently? Are you on stock ROMs or it happens on different custom ROMs/Kernels (good to test with several kernels instead)?
Some apps like AndroSensor or Phone Tester can give you insights about the proximity and light sensor. You might want to check it out and test this with a flashlight or something, and see if values change.
From the bug report, has someone actually tested comment 44 and 46?
Or tested this app DHD Proximity Sensor Recalibrator?
Some have even noticed missed connectors when phone was dissembled (this requires more effort).
Hey guys,
So i flashed mahdi rom (10/1) a couple of days ago, let me just say that it is by far one of the best roms out there for the oneplus one!
However, something is bothering me: when i draw a circle on the screen to open the camera, it requires that i enter my pin before the camera actually opens. this wasn't the case on CM11s. and it's really annoying. Not a deal breaker but I would love to fix it somehow.
Does that happen to anyone else ?
If so, is there a way to fix that?
Much appreciated.
I've noticed a lot of people complaining about screen lag recently, where everythings just dull and slow (not so much touch issues)- and unfortunately im one off them people!
My phone is the newer branch (november) and im starting to have a slow screen ever since oxygen! i've gone stock 11s n its seem to followed me!
but i really think its heat related, it will be fine for the most part, once it starts getting warm (recently its been getting hotter then normal) the screen goes dull.
THIS IS NOT GHOST TOUCH.
my screen doesnt press random things, the phone is just dull to type on and stuff but only when its hot/warm, and when i say hot, i mean hot..
but im not doing anything different to what i used to and it used to be okay, but then again........weathers getting hotter....
my nexus 4 was horrible when warm also......
currently on cm12 nightly, 06.04.15
tried stock 11s too but only lasted a few hours
If anybodys noticed this PLEASE say something, also if this issue is because my phone is 'defective', will i be able to send it to oneplus for a repair? wil it be worth it? will it be free? how long will it take (*roughly*)
sorry for all the questions and blabber, it's just i've been wondering A LOT and ive not been getting straight answers.
Ps. NEVER had issues BEFORE oxygen. oxygen was NOT on my phone for longer than a day due to the horrible keyboard issues, but the phone was really hot during oxygen......... thanks anyway, :good:
I have the same problem. It seems to happen when my phone has been warm-hot for 15-20 minutes. No ghost touches, but scrolling is really laggy, and sometimes it doesn't register a tap on a link or app. It seems to go away if I let my phone cool down. I've looked everywhere online, and I've seen a few people mention similar problems, but most of the time it's about the ghost touch thing. I really hope it's not a hardware issue. I can't go without a phone for a month and a half for the RMA. People seem to have a lot of issues with RMAs. I'm surprised there aren't more people having this issue.
Also, I'm not on oxygen. I'm having the issue on Euphoria 5.0.2.
I started having the exact same issue two weeks ago, and I did not even try oxygen os. I also bought the phone in november. I tried opening the phone and cleaning the connector but it didn't help at all... now I'm having the issue all the time, not only when the phone is hot and it feels like I have a $30 phone
I really don't know what to do since I opened the phone,so no RMA possible. I bought a Moto E and I'm gonna have to use it until I fix the issue. I dont even know if it's software or hardware, that's a really strange issue.
Edit : the touch screen just worked fine for 2 minutes, then became laggy again
I have a Zenfone2, 2 GB ram model (ZE551) and I recently rooted my phone and installed crDroid on my phone. So far, I am loving the phone as it runs smoother and performance is a lot greater. However, my phone doesn't turn on if i put it inside a bag or like a waterproof phone pouch. it turns on fine if im just using it but if I have to put inside a phone pouch and i try to wake up my phone, it won't wake up. This isn't relaly a big concern but I'm just curious to why this is because I remember the same thing would happen with my old One Plus. Does it have something to do with cyanogen because when I was on stock rom on my ZF2, it worked fine. Thanks!
Update: I find that it has something to do with the front camera. I noticed that if something is covering or on top of the front camera, it wont wake up.
Hi,
It seems you figured this out. Also, you know where your device section is. XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support... So please use your device section in the future. :good:
Thanks! Thread closed.
There are a few silly issues I'm having with the phone and I just want to find out if anything can be done, for my sanitys sake.
I hate the way the screen lights up when I plug my headphones in.
I hate the fact that the countdown timer will vibrate only in vibrate mode (unlike my M7 which made a noise) but when not in vibrate mode it was only make a noise. I guess it makes sense if you think about it, but to me, its nonsense. I want it to vibrate AND make a sound in either mode, hell I'd even take sound+vibrate in ringer on mode at this point. So I can be listening to music and the timer goes off (in vibrate mode) and if I don't feel the vibration in my pocket, tough. Hard to explain, but I have to call back to the HTC M7, it didn't do this, it worked.
I hate the way that the alarm clock has increasing volume only once. If you snooze the phone, the next time the alarm goes off, it goes off full blast, no increasing volume.
I've been using XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition 2.4 rom with a week or so now and it's great. But I have noticed some issues which really worry me. I got this phone because it's fast. But when I press the power button there is a definate delay until the screen lights up and Facebook messenger for reasons unknown makes the phone unusable, it lags so bad and even the soft keys don't work. Never did this on other phones and my partners non-rooted S6 is fine.
It does make me wonder, is all this rooting and custom ROM worth it. So far, I've got odd lag and an app which nearly breaks the phone. If I could adblock and restore apps without rooting, I think I would unroot.
Then sell it and be happy
What is your question exactly then?

Can we automate it so your response is posted for every thread talking about issues with this phone?
My Question is, are any of my issues "fixable". I know xposed could do a lot of things for the M7. Is there something I've missed which can help me with my issues?

Chill i was making a joke
Have you tried full wipe? Or completely unroot to stock? Then back?
I have.
My Mrs has a unrooted stock S6 which I use for comparison.
The lag issues and issue with Messenger are only my phone, the isues I have with the screen lighting up with headphones plugged in and the alarm clock, we both share those.
I know the lag and messenger issue could be fixed by going back to stock, but this is the problem with custom roms and rooting. You get given nice features and you risk losing them all when going back to stock. I can live without messenger and the wake up lag I can just put up with, but it isn't right. I guess in truth I expected too much from this phone, I wanted it to be blazing fast and it just doesn't feel it.
There isn't a great range of roms either, my M7 had literally dozens of roms to try but I find with the S6, there are like only a handful.
